Číše života (Goblet Of Life) is second song from INDRID COLD’s recent album Monument Prázdnoty released on June 1st via Sliptrick Records. The track is set to a music poem from the collection ‘Transformations of the Demon’ by Michail Lermontov 1831. It’s a dark melancholic anthem describing the illusory nature of this world.
Monument Prázdnoty (Eng: Monument of Emptiness) is the debut album from Czech post, doom metal band Indrid Cold. The word emptiness means: “The field of boundless emptiness is what exists from the very beginning. You must purify, cure, grind down, or brush away all the tendencies you have fabricated into apparent habits. Then you can reside in a clear circle of brightness. Utter emptiness has no image. Upright independence does not rely on anything. Just expand and illuminate the original truth unconcerned by external conditions. Read more …here
IAN PARRY celebrates 40th year as a professional singer songwriter with the release of the new album by his melodic power rock / neo classical metal band, ROCK EMPORIUM. The album entitled “Brute Force” was released on Friday, 4th June 2021 via Metal Mind Productions.
“One Vision”, a track originally written by Queen, is one the song included on the album. Ian Parry: “I wanted to capture the essence of the original Queen recording embracing the analogue drum and bass sounds, but without trying to copy Brian Mays classic guitar sound and Freddy’s unique voice. I am very proud of the performance from my musicians Ivar de Graaf (Within Temptation) for his authentic kick ass drums, but adding his own modern groove in parts. Jeroen van der Wiel (Rock Emporium “Society of Friends”), for his amazing Orchestral keyboard intro, piano, organ and sequencer hook line. Jeroen is a huge Queen fan so for him and all of us. My old Elegy colleague and friend bassist Martin Helmantel also added his own touch with a driving bass part in the solo section. Finally the rhythm and lead guitars with a traditional Marshall Amp sound from Dimitris Goutziamanis with an extra lead guitar part from Fabio Calluori. The music is finally complimented with what I regard as being my own powerful and emotional vocal performance supported by the fantastic choir & lead parts from Wade Black (Crimson Glory) and Stamina vocalist Stefano Sbrignadello. It was a great please to make such a Tribute to Queen and now 30 years later after we sadly lost one of the greatest Rock pop voices of all time, in memory of the late great Freddy Mercury.”
The style of “Brute Force” album can be compared with some of the best rock & metal bands such as: Alcatrazz, Blue Murder, Dokken, Dio, Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Ozzy, Queensrÿche, Queen, Scorpions, Whitesnake and many other popular rock metal bands from the 90s.
Alongside Ian Parry (Consortium Project / Elegy / Vengeance) are musicians/singers out the world of metal & members of well-known bands such as: Beth-Ami Heavenstone (Graham Bonnet band); Timo Somers (Delain); Martin Helmantel (Elegy); Barend Courbois (Blind Guardian); Allan Sorensen (Royal Hunt / Pretty Maids); Patrick Rondat (Jean-Michel Jarre / Consortium Project); Patrick Johansson & Svante Henryson (Malmsteen); Kris Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation / Dial); Luca Sellitto (Stamina); Walter Cianciusi, Enrico Cianciusi & Dario Parente (Jeff Tate Band / Headless); Ivar De Graaf (Within Temptation / Kingfisher Sky); Bob Wijtsma (Ayreon); Jeroen van der Wiel (Odyssice / Rock Emporium 1) & Sander Zoer (Leah/Delain). Special guest singers include Wade Black (Crimson Glory / Leatherwolf / Seven Witches); Stefano Sbrignadello (Stamina) & Ani Lozanavo (Ani Lo Band). Additional guest: guitar soloon the bonus track “One Vision” performed by Fabio Calluori (Heimdall).

In addition, the unstoppable blues rockers also release their new single “Holy Ghost” feat. Jon Harvey (Monster Truck) today. The video was recorded in Guetersloh (GER), Los Angeles (USA) and Hamilton (CAN) and can be seen HERE.
The song is now also available on major streaming platforms for endless repeat! Follow this LINK
This is what Jon Harvey has to say about his collaboration with THE PICTUREBOOKS:
“Hallelujah. Sounds the same in every language. The meaning never changes. A divine celebration. When my good buddies The Picturebooks contacted me about working on a song with them, I heard a few things they’d been working on and the music for ‘Holy Ghost’ immediately grabbed my brain and shook it. The vibe was so sexy and groovy that it almost felt taboo, and the concept came together effortlessly. The lyrics are about the magnetism and attraction you feel when someone who checks all your boxes visually, enters. The fleeting intensity of an unknown future imagined in seconds. Like a spiritual uprising, that flushes your cheeks and speeds your heartbeat. What I can only imagine, is what heaven feels like.”
Fynn from THE PICTUREBOOKS adds the following words:
“When we wrote ’Holy Ghost’ we immediately heard Jon Harvey’s awesome voice on it! Monster Truck became our best buddies after all the touring we did together in the past all over Europe and Canada. We always wanted to do a song together. To be honest, we didn’t know how good this song really was or could be. It was Jon who turned it into one of the coolest things we’ve ever recorded and we’re so happy about it! Thank you to this freaking pandemic to have shown the world once again that nothing will ever stop music!!! People will always find ways to make music because people need it. Because we need to create and enjoy it. There’s no better cure for anything!“

Just recently signed with Napalm Records, Russian Nordic folk and ambient project NYTT LAND offer a dark, otherworldly experience with their new seventh studio album, Ritual, out August 6 via Napalm Records.
This eight-song rarity tell tales of gods and heroes, born centuries ago and preserved in traditions, expressed in a unique sonic experience that can best be described by the duo itself as shamanic dark folk. On Ritual, NYTT LAND effortlessly pulls listeners into a world of ancient percussive instrumentation and vocal tradition. Thematically, their work echoes many stories from Norse mythology and historic texts such as the Poetic Edda.
To enter the Ritual, NYTT LAND has unveiled their captivating musical forces through the record’s title track today. Haunting percussive instrumentation and unique, meditative vocal chants display their shamanic dark folk in its full splendor. The song comes along with a hypnotizing music video that emphasizes the unique atmosphere of this sonic adventure with a mesmerizing journey through the dark and brooding woods of Siberia.
NYTT LAND state: “All our songs are, first of all, our personal experience, how we perceive reality around us. Ritual is the release of inner, primal energy through music, words, dances and images. This is what the world and the universe was born into. And we want to share our part of this energy with you.”
Watch the entrancing music video for “Ritual“HERE:
NYTT LAND about the video: “The destinies of people and gods spin like threads. They are intertwining with each other in patterns and each of them is unique. The women who spin them are silent and in the hands of each of them is the thread of someone’s life. To some they give good luck in battle and victory in war, and to others death. And only they decide which thread to twist further, creating the main drawing of the great canvas of life, and which one will break off with a thin nap.”
NYTT LAND’s ancient shamanic culture is palpable on songs like “U-Gra” – based on the legend of the Siberian native tribe known as Khanty. It tells the story of the guardian spirits of the tribe’s homeland as somber ritual chants at the start of the song ask the spirits to be kind to their people and help them retain their lands. An atmospheric, meditative journey accompanied by an enthralling percussive section accents the unmatched, unique throat singing layers of NYTT LAND vocalists Natasha “Baba Yaga” Pakhalenko and Anatoly “Shaman” Pakhalenko. “Svartravn” seamlessly continues this vibe while introducing melancholic string sections, telling the story of a warrior dying on the battlefield with a crow circling him, awaiting his coup de grace. The dying warrior tells the crow about his worthy life and the deeds that he performed, and that he is not afraid of death, asking the raven to take the news of his death to his family. Underlying themes on Ritual become apparent in NYTT LAND’s artistic entity, pulled together by mysterious, haunting visuals while still welcoming the listener into their spiritual world. Songs like “Dead Man’s Dance” and “Blood Of The North” showcase the Nordic folk-driven roots of NYTT LAND, while the duo takes the genre to new levels on “The Fires of Ragnarok”.
Ritual is a previously uncharted display of intense, dark folk music inspired by NYTT LAND’s unique, authentic and ancient Siberian culture. If bands like Wardruna, Heilung or Runahild ensnare your senses, then you must prepare for this Ritual!
NYTT LAND on the record: “Our new album is a big story, a long way – from the harsh, snowy fjords of ancient Scandinavia – to the endless expanses of the great Siberian taiga. Having chosen life in a small Siberian village, we are inspired by nature, its eternal, primordial life force. And this inspiration finds expression in our music.”
Ritual Tracklisting: 1. Ritual 2. The Fires of Ragnarok 3. The Birth of a Shaman 4. Dead Man’s Dance 5. U-Gra 6. Gróttasöngr 7. Svartravn 8. Blood of the North

For LORNA SHORE, the triumvirate of songs at the heart of “…And I Return to Nothingness – EP” are nothing short of an exorcism – and a plunge into something darker. The release of the EP is scheduled for August 13th, 2021 – get a first blackened taste by checking out “To The Hellfire” HERE
Adam De Micco (guitar) comments: Finally excited to release all this information to everyone. It’s been a year and a half on silence on our end and today is a day that we cannot be quiet about this. To be able to announce our new vocalist Will Ramos, a brand new EP, and to finally get back to playing shows again. Will filled in for us over in Europe and during the past year we decided to do 3 songs to see how the fit would be. Which brings us to our EP ‘…And I Return To Nothingness’. The EP features 3 songs that we feel sums up and identifies the band in a way that we see fit. Each song is unique from the next and displays the characteristics of who we are as a band. In addition to we will be playing shows supporting the release of the EP.
Here’s the next chapter of Lorna Shore
“To The Hellfire” is the first track that is introducing their new voice, A Wake In Providence front man, Will Ramos, a longtime friend and veteran of the scene that birthed the band. LORNA SHORE began what was to be both a trial by fire and a victory lap on the European Faces of Death tour, headlined by Polish thrashers, Decapitated. They held their own and won over crowds only to face the challenge of the tour being cancelled and being a continent away as the world shut down amidst the wildfire spread of Covid-19. In that time, the seeds of “…And I Return to Nothingness” were sown. As the world locked down, DeMicco, Archey, Ramos and guitarist Andrew O’ Connor plunged deeper into the creative instincts that initially made LORNA SHORE a fixture in the extreme metal scene. Embellished with artwork by noted Polish painter Mariusz Lewandowski (Bell Witch, Fuming Mouth) “…And I Return to Nothingness” reaffirms LORNA SHORE’s creative focus and intensity. Teaming once again with “Immortal” producer Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studios in Midland, Michigan, the band was ready to take the next step. The EP’s three tracks: “To the Hellfire”, “Of the Abyss” and the title track are proof that LORNA SHORE isn’t just continuing their fiery legacy. They’re reigniting it and spectacularly setting their very legacy ablaze.
