Earlier this month Jason revealed:
“I’m very pleased to announce that our new video “The Dark”, which will be released on the 4th of June (2021), across all major platforms.
This song talks about death, obscurity and the “nothing”. It’s about feeling confused and betrayed, and someone that’s losing his essence. Without a consciousness, and with no purpose in our lives, we’re just a bunch of roamers taking a road to the abyss, and that leads us to the dark and lashes us to insignificant beings floating in “the nothing”.
Can’t wait for its release!”

Just recently the band revealed first details of their upcoming 6-tracks EP, entitled “The Abyss”, coming out soon.

Read what Jason has to say:
“The Dark is a song that sums up the theme of this EP, “The Abyss”. It’s about death, obscurity and the “nothing”. It talks of things like trying to reach to the void, feeling confused and betrayed, and about a person that’s losing his essence. Without a consciousness, and with no purpose in our lives, we’re just a bunch of roamers taking a road to the abyss, and that leads us to the dark and lashes us to insignificant beings floating in “the nothing”.
When I was writing this EP, I got affected by the outside world. It’s a dark period that we’re living. I caught the essence and the feelings that this time put me through and made a whole EP about existentialism and nihilism. This period made me question who am I, what’s my purpose, what have I done with my life and what if this all ends now? Would it matter? Do we matter? Does life matters? Of course, it does! In my opinion, there’s no point of doing anything or living if this doesn’t matter. However, when I wrote this EP, I don’t give you the bright side of the story. That’s for the fans to find out. My whole point with this work is to make people question their lives and feel these emotions. This record means so much to me, since it’s about everything I felt and still feel. I’m a person who never stops asking questions. I always want to know more. Specially, when it comes to existentialism, I’m always in internal conflict, since I question everything. This is my message, this is my music and it’s about how I feel, and hopefully, people will relate to it.”

Stay tuned for more details.

Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to Triumph’s bassist Mike Levine on May 14 2021 about the upcoming  Allied Forces 40 year anniversary Box Set for Record Store Day on June 12th as well as  band updates and news.

When asked about the upcoming Box set
“It will be released on June 12 on Record Store Day a quasi exclusive in Canada, the US and Europe. Inside you will have a picture disk of the original album. There is a double live  gatefold album with Triumph Live in Cleveland from the Allied Forces tour. There is a vintage replica of the Allied Forces tour book. Vintage pictures and all kind of neat stuff. Tour pass, handwritten lyrics for three songs, a vinyl single, there is a  Allied Forces tribute from our upcoming Triumph tribute album (with all L.A. based musicians). There is magic Power live in Ottawa that has never been released before and more. The box set is really cool and I think the Triumph fans will salivate over it. Andy Curran (Coney Hatch) was the project manager and he is spectacular he got really dirty and dusty doing this he crawled up in the attic above Metalworks studio and was rolling around there finding stuff. Andy found so much great stuff it was unbelievable stuff we didn’t even know we had. “

When asked about the upcoming Triumph tribute album
“I can only speak a bit about it cause it is still in production. We have been talking to producer Mike Clink over the years (Guns n’ Roses, Motley Crue, Whitesnake) and we were talking about maybe doing a tribute Album. So  Mike Clink is producing it and it has been recorded in L.A. There will be some great artists on it.  It’s going to be a real cool project. Our only parameter from a band point of view was do your own take on the song, we don’t want to hear someone copy what we did, we want an interpretation. A lot of the money from the tribute album will be going to a charity called Musicares in the States, it’s a huge organization that supports artists in trouble.”

When asked about the status of the Triumph documentary
“It is just in the final stages we just approved all the final credits and once that is done let’s print it boys, it’s finished. So I say a couple of weeks and it should be done and then we will see where it goes and what we are going to do with it. It’s a sensational film.”

The trio’s first record to be recorded at their studio, MetalWorks, ‘Allied Forces’ spawned such rock radio hits as “Magic Power,” “Fight the Good Fight,” and “Say Goodbye,” as well as the title track, which became an automatic concert favorite. The album was also the highest-charting of the band’s career and earning platinum certification in the States.

“We’re extremely proud of ‘Allied Forces.’ It was the record that started the global rocket ride for us and we’re also excited to share with our fans some really great moments from our archives with this boxset” – Mike Levine

“Record Store Day Canada is thrilled to announce the legendary Triumph as the 2021 Record Store Day Canadian Ambassadors. They are one of the most respected bands in Canadian history and their music has stood the test of time. It will be exciting to hear and hold the 40th Anniversary ‘Allied Forces’ box set, being reissued on high-quality vinyl for fans worldwide.”
– Ryan Kerr, Record Store Day Canada.

While Triumph no longer tours, the spirit of the band remains alive in not only this killer box set, but also, in a documentary and tribute record that are both in the works. And on June 12th, 2021, fans will get the opportunity to re-experience ‘Allied Forces’ in an entirely new way!

DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER Pay Tribute To Atmospheric Black Metal With New Single “Nachtblume”

German metal band DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER are proud to release another track from their upcoming experimental record, “The Divine Horsemen”, which will be out July 2nd, 2021. Nachtblume is a clear nod to atmospheric black metal, but with the running time of a grindcore or hardcore punk song. It showcases the artistic freedom and stylistic diversity that can be expected on the full release, because one thing is for certain: “The Divine Horsemen” is a lot of things, but boring it is not for one second!

You can watch a lyric video for Nachtblume here:

DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER on Nachtblume:
„The blackness of the night and the force of the north winds have been the inspiration for Nachtblume (“Nightflower”). As its lyrics Fuchs chose a poem from 1834, which was originally written by Joseph von Eichendorff. The speaker describes the uncontrollable emotions taking hold of them at night time. In a radical, eruptive burst the raw energy is condensed into one of the shortest Reiter tracks to ever be released.”

IMARI TONES Release New Single/Official Video ‘Passion’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 15, 2021

IMARI TONES are combining Christian metal and Japanese traditional culture. This video takes place in Japanese traditional Noh theater and tea ceremony room. Dressed in Samurai Metal style, Imari Tones are showing off some Japanese spirit.

The song title Passion means both strong emotion and the sufferings of Christ on the cross. This is a song dedicated to people who try to find the real God and truth, in spite of difficulties and tough situations around them. It is a song about a spiritual battle. A battle within one’s mind. Just like ancient Japanese Bushido, we have to fight the enemy within ourselves. In order to avoid idol worship, you have to overcome your own desire and temptations.

The main theme of this video is self discipline. So when the band sings “destroy every idol”, that means breaking idols in your own mind. Because you must deny those idols in order to find the real God. Declaring Jesus is the Lord with a loud voice, this is one of the most aggressive songs from Imari Tones. But you have to understand this is all about spiritual matter, not about attacking other people or destroying statues and buildings.

As serious as the song goes, Imari Tones do their best to entertain. Tone and Shinryu show off their sword and martial arts skills while Marie boasts her beauty by dancing with Japanese Sensu folding fans. Also you will be surprised at how friendly and comical they can be, which is why Imari Tones are loved by their fans. Coolness, beauty, sword action and martial arts, funny jokes and heavy metal sound, all along with Christian faith. You won’t believe it until you see it.

Nabeshima | Released July 7th 2021 via Sliptrick Records

Imari Tones are:
Takahiro “Tone” Nakamine – Guitars/Vocals | Marie – Bass | Shinryu – Drums
