GODKILLER to Release New Album “The End of the World” on November 21st

Following the 2022 compilation “We Are The Black Knights” — which gathered together the seminal early demos of cult Monaco band GODKILLER — we can announce a long-awaited physical release for the final medieval Black Metal composition written by mainman Duke Satanaël.

Originally intended as a stylistic pointer towards the band’s debut full-length, the raw, otherworldly and enthralling track ‘The End of the World‘ was recorded in 1997 and only ever featured on “In Decay We Trust Vol.1“, a 1998 CD-only compilation issued by Avantgarde Music/Wounded Love Records.

This piece of Black Metal history now emerges from the shadows in honour of the artist’s original vision, as a special 7″ vinyl edition accompanied by an exclusive t-shirt design. Cover artwork and t-shirt done by Anastasiia Istomina.

Listen to the track via Bandcamp!

“The End of the World“, alongside merchandise, will be released on November 21st. Pre-orders are available through DMP’s EU, US, and Bandcamp stores.

For those wishing to delve deeper into the universe and legacy of GODKILLER/Duke Satanaël, please explore an extensive three-part interview available on our website: Part I, Part II, Part III.

Also, do not miss the haunting post-punk and gothic electronica of Duke‘s current project, A PRAYER FOR THE WORST, via Website, Instagram, and Bandcamp.

GODKILLER was founded by Duke Satanaël in 1994. The first demo, “Ad Majorem Satanae Gloriam“, was released in December of the same year. It featured a mixture of Death and Black metal with already an evocation of the medieval era, as it is audible in the intro. The second demo, “The Warlord“, was released in February 1995, and showed an evolution towards a style that would become GODKILLER‘s trademark: Black Metal with medieval-inspired sounds.

The demo caught the interest of Italian label Wounded Love Records (a division of Avantgarde Music). The first release from this partnership was “The Rebirth Of The Middle Ages” in 1996.

Always being interested in new musical inspiration and evolution, the next album needed to be different. On “The End Of The World“, released in 1998, the tempo slowed down, the riffs became heavier, the atmosphere was less medieval-inspired, but still crepuscular, even more so. The lyrics dealt with personal, introspective subjects from a bleak perspective.

Finally, the last GODKILLER album, “Deliverance“, was released in 2000. Once again, this album marked an evolution in style. The main characteristics of “The End Of The World” were kept, but the medieval atmosphere was almost entirely gone, replaced by a more modern, cold and clinical atmosphere. This last album was, in a way, GODKILLER‘s self-destruction, the point of completion as well as the point of no return.

In 2022, GODKILLER signed a deal with Debemur Morti Productions to reissue the two demos on CD and vinyl.

Finnish metal band Mourning Wood‘s new single End Of Days introduces catchy gothic vibes mixed in with 80s inspired guitar riffing and melodic hooks. The almost sobbingly eerie vocal atmosphere is accompanied by lyrics of never being content with what you have and therefore feeling that you are on the wrong path which is set in stone.

–Composition: Eino-Akseli Koski
–Lyrics: Jussi Holopainen & Eino-Akseli Koski

The debut full length album “Murder Of Crows” will be released in late 2025. The album continues with the themes of the debut EP “Fill Your Grave” (2023) but also takes them to a whole new level.

2021 founded Mourning Wood draws heavily on both Nordic melancholy and its influencers like Sentenced, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol and Gary Moore. The band that spreads the joy of sorrow consists of trained musicians with a long history of playing together. That can be heard from the tight musicianship at gigs.

The band also played Sentenced tribute tour around Finland promoting the Sentenced guitar player Miika Tenkula‘s biography (Melankolian Mestari – Miika Tenkula) (LIKE, 2024) written by Nefertiti Malaty. The tour consists three bands paying a tribute to memory of Miika Tenkula and Sentenced.

Finnish death metal band Wounded In Forest is set to unleash their debut EP ‘Antihuman Artist‘ on December 5th 2025 via Inverse Records. The second single ‘Take The Son Of A Bitch’ is released today and it’s available on all essential streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/wounded-in-forest-take

Take the Son of a Bitch’ throws you into the brutality of early 1700s Finland. Crown soldiers arrive at the antihero’s home to take a man for the army, and his own family gladly gives him up, calling him a waste of food. It’s based on real stories of men dragged from rural farmhouses into war. This is where his descent plunges even deeper — another step further into a life shaped entirely by violence.” –Miikka Pyykkönen

“The song opens with a skank beat and open-picked chords that nod toward thrash metal before diving into death metal riffing and blast beats. At 200bpm, it moves with the urgency of a forced march, shifting rhythms without losing focus. The dual vocals mirror the story’s tension — rage clashing with inevitability — until you’re marched out alongside him into the jaws of war.” –Jussi Tuomisto

Wounded In Forest is a death metal band from Oulu, Finland, born from tragedy and reborn with a sharpened edge. Formed in 2023 following the death of the drummer from a previous project that had lasted over 15 years, the surviving members regrouped with a stripped-down, more direct musical vision. Every member took on a new role or instrument to forge something raw and uncompromising — an outlet for grief, rage, and reflection.

Musically rooted in old school death metal, Wounded in Forest blends the primal ferocity of early ’90s death metal with a conceptual storytelling approach. Their lyrics, written in English, revolve around one fictional narrative per release, each grounded in a real event or period from Finnish history. Themes of violence, war, trauma, and moral decay are explored with unflinching intensity.

The band’s upcoming debut EP, Antihuman Artist, is set during the Great Wrath in the early 1700s — a time of Russian occupation and widespread atrocities in Finland. The EP tells the disturbing story of an individual shaped by violence — born into abuse, sent to war, and ultimately transformed into a serial killer who expresses himself by creating grotesque art from the remains of his victims.

Wounded in Forest’s dual-vocalist setup deepens their storytelling Joni Moisanen delivers classic low-end death metal growls, while Miikka Pyykkönen unleashes high-pitched shrieks more akin to black metal. This contrast creates a dynamic narrative texture, with each voice representing different facets of the characters and their descent into darkness.

Musically, the band combines relentless blast beats, simple but sinister riffing, and shifting rhythmic patterns that keep listeners on edge. Guitarists Joni Moisanen and Joonas Kokkoniemi mix chugging riffs, open-picked chords, and black metal-style tremolo passages with the occasional technical flourish. Drummer Jussi Tuomisto drives the chaos with aggressive blasts and constantly evolving grooves that mirror the tension in each story.

For fans of old school Death Metal with a conceptual twist, Wounded In Forest offers stories carved from something raw and real. These are stories steeped in blood, rooted in Finnish soil, and delivered straight from the heart of the forest.

Line-up:
Joni Moisanen (guitar, vox)
Miikka Pyykkönen (bass, vox)
Joonas Kokkoniemi (guitar)
Jussi Tuomisto (drums)

WICKED BLUESMAN Signs with Wanikiya Record, New Album “Dreams & Destiny” Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 28, 2025

Wanikiya Record/Promotion is proud to officially announce the addition of Wicked Bluesman to its roster — the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal project created, performed, and produced by the multifaceted Andrea “Bluesman” Daniele.

With the new album “Dreams & Destiny”, now available on all digital platforms, Andrea marks his artistic comeback with an intense, profound, and richly layered work. This record, born from nearly a decade of musical and life experiences, stands as the perfect synthesis of compositional maturity, personal vision, and a visceral passion for rock.

“Dreams & Destiny”: The Return of Wicked Bluesman
The new album represents an artistic and spiritual rebirth for Wicked Bluesman. After years of working with various bands, Andrea decided to reclaim control over his musical journey, reviving his main project originally founded in 2013.

Created during a challenging period of his life, “Dreams & Destiny” is an act of resistance and creative freedom — ten tracks exploring the eternal contrast between dreams and destiny, between what we desire and what life forces us to face.

Each song is a journey through introspection and sonic power — merging the purest soul of rock with a modern musical language that ranges from blues to folk, while maintaining a beating, sincere hard & heavy heart.

Nothing is left to chance, and, as with certain timeless classics, there may be more beneath the surface than meets the eye. It’s up to the most attentive listeners to catch all the subtle details and nuances woven throughout the album.

An Image, a Destiny
The artwork, conceived by Andrea and created by Abstract Chaos Design (previously working with Old Man’s Child, Eleine, Dimmu Borgir…), depicts the Devil standing at the center of a crossroads, with the Wheel of Destiny behind him — a metaphor for life itself: risk, choice, and the gamble with one’s own future.

On the back cover, Riley, the official Wicked Bluesman mascot, makes his return — first seen on the cover of their debut EP.

A New Beginning with Wanikiya Record/Promotion
With their entry into the Wanikiya Record/Promotion roster, Wicked Bluesman open a new chapter filled with collaborations, international promotion, and growing visibility across platforms and stages.

A partnership built on strength, authenticity, and passion for rock — values that have always defined both the artist and the label.

Wicked Bluesman and Wanikiya Record/Promotion: when dreams meet destiny, true music is born.

LYCHGATE to Release New Album “Precipice” on December 19th, First Single ‘Hive of Parasites’ Out Now

Five years after acclaimed last EP and DMP-debut “Also sprach Futura“, LYCHGATE are poised to return with their fourth full-length on December 19th. “Precipice” is progressive Extreme Metal plummeting inside a black hole: scorching, twisted and transfixing. The band have upped both the dystopic prog-Death quotient and their sense of experimentation, moving with formidable, mechanised poise and a surrealist’s sense of dread.

Tracklist:

01. Introduction – The Sleeper Awakes
02. Mausoleum of Steel
03. Renunciation
04. The Meeting of Orion and Scorpio
05. Hive of Parasites
06. Death’s Twilight Kingdom
07. Terror Silence
08. Anagnorisis
09. Pangaea

The album was mixed and mastered by Greg Chandler at Priory Studios. Cover artwork is courtesy of Nadiia Skidan, layout by SRWo.

“Humanity offered up its life
To be a slave of its own creation
Its state from commander to commanded
By the anvil that breaks the hammer” (‘Hive of Parasites‘)

As an initiation into this mind-manglingly intense and progressive work, LYCHGATE unveil a key piece as first single. With intelligent, labyrinthine songwriting and suffocatingly dense production, ‘Hive of Parasites‘ is an unsettling blend of grandeur and decay.

‘Hive of Parasites‘ stands as the centrepiece — and longest track — of our forthcoming album “Precipice“. Lyrically, it delves into the record’s core inspiration: E.M. Forster‘s “The Machine Stops“. Musically, the piece unfolds like a descent and resurgence — beginning in calm, brooding contemplation before erupting into passages that are rapid, atmospheric, and at times violently intense. Following a climactic crescendo, the track sinks back into an introspective, hypnotic trance, only to reveal a final twist on an earlier theme.

“Precipice” will be released on CD, vinyl – including an exclusive DMP variant – and digital on December 19th. A special t-shirt design will accompany the launch. Pre-orders are possible via DMP’s EU, US and Bandcamp.

LYCHGATE was formed in 2011 by Vortigern (guitars) with the collaboration of Greg Chandler (vocals and guitars), Aran (Bass) and T. J. F. Vallely (drums). In 2012, the self-titled debut was recorded and then released in the first quarter of 2013 through Mordgrimm and Gilead Media. The material on this album was partly inspired by demo material from a pre-LYCHGATE project known as ARCHAICUS; demos that would later be released through Cult Never Dies and entitled, “The Early Years – ‘Beneath the Horizon’ and Other Demos, 2002-06“.

Between January 2012 and December 2013, Vortigern wrote material for the second album entitled “An Antidote for the Glass Pill“, which was thematically inspired by Bentham‘s concept of the Panopticon. It was recorded almost entirely at Priory Studios intermittently in the second half of 2014. It was then released through the Finnish label Blood Music in August 2015. The album was a significant step in the development of LYCHGATE‘s sound, with the utilisation of organ as a compositional backbone to all tracks, along with influences from late 19th century/early 20th century art music, Rock in Opposition, musique concréte and 1940s-70s cinema. Besides the core line-up and addition of Alan Webb on bass, the band invited Kevin Bowyer to perform all organ parts.

The press received “An Antidote” highly, with praise given to its uniqueness and forward-thinking approach. It has been featured in lists for the top metal albums of the 2010s, from Angry Metal Guy and Invisible Oranges. Shortly after the release date, a European tour was conducted with NIGHTBRINGER in November 2015. The following year, the band performed the entire album with real organ at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, the Netherlands.

In August 2017, LYCHGATE entered Orgone Studios with producer Jaime Gomez (ULVER, PARADISE LOST, ORANSSI PAZUZU) to record the third album for Blood Music, entitled “The Contagion In Nine Steps“, in which the band adopted generally slower tempos, and psychedelic atmospheres. The album was inspired by the Stanisław Lem novel “The Invincible (Niezwyciężony)” and variations on the theme of group-think and crowd psychology.

During August/September 2019, an EP entitled “Also sprach Futura” was recorded at Priory Studios, inspired by the film “Metropolis” (1925/1927), and Lem‘s “Golem XIV” (1981). The work was quicker paced, and more similar to “An Antidote” than its predecessor. It was released on Debemur Morti Productions in March 2020. A subsequent European tour with WHITE WARD was regrettably cancelled due to the global pandemic at the time.

In 2025, LYCHGATE entered Priory Studios to record “Precipice“. It is due to be released in the winter of 2025 through Debemur Morti Productions.

LYCHGATE 2025 are:

J.C. Young “Vortigern” – Guitars, Organ, Piano, Orchestration
Greg Chandler – Vocals
S.D. Lindsley – Guitar
Tom McLean – Bass
T. J. F. Vallely – Drums
