DRACONIAN Release Official Video for Breathtaking “The Sethian”

Gothic doom metal symbiosis DRACONIAN just unveiled a new official video for their hauntingly beautiful hymn, “The Sethian”, cut from their latest chart-breaking album, Under A Godless Veil (2020). Along with a bewitching official video that captures the melancholic identity of the song and transfers it to screen, the song is a gate into another mesmerizing sonic dimension.

Vocalist and lyricist Anders Jacobsson comments:
“The writing of ‘The Sethian’ started with Johan being inspired by a Nordic folksong. As the song transpired it mutated into a range of different variables and a quite different for being a DRACONIAN song. From bombastic and brutal, from doomy sadness to gothic soundscapes. The instrumentation and the vocal arrangements are poignant and commanding, something that marks ‘The Sethian’ as one – if not the most well-received song of our new album.”

Watch the official video for “The Sethian” NOW:

Video director Natalia Drepina about the vision for the video:
“Each of us is trapped in a gloomy and oppressive place, where lies bleeding and the dark side of our soul obscures our eyes with doubts and regrets. But at the same time we can create entire universes in our dreams. And this golden light flickers in the darkness like sparks of hope.”

Almost five years after the release of their sixth record, Sovran, DRACONIAN dropped their highly acclaimed epos and seventh full-length, Under A Godless Veil, in October 2020 via Napalm Records. Entering the charts in several countries, this prodigious album marks the unit’s most successful record to date and delivers a captivating mélange of dreary doom and contrasting vocals, and mixes Heike Langhans’ angelic voice with Anders Jakobsson’s death growls. This intoxicating piece of art was released as an atmospherically conceptualized, strictly limited picture vinyl quite recently with only a few copies left.

The one-hour long album, graced with haunting cover artwork by Natalia Drepina, carries the legacy of gothic doom metal à la My Dying Bride or Trees Of Eternity into the new decade, and will drag the listener into a sorrowful cosmos with the very first notes of spellbinding opener “Sorrow Of Sophia”, interweaving beauty and crippling sadness.

After crushing slow rhythms and the fragile “Sleepwalkers” that leads through barren soundscapes, the band – founded in Säffle / Sweden in 1994 – rises up to their best in the nine-minute long “Ascend Into Darkness”, which will echo in the listener’s ears long after the final chord has died away.

Under A Godless Veil tracklisting:
1. Sorrow of Sophia
2. The Sacrificial Flame
3. Lustrous Heart
4. Sleepwalkers
5. Moon Over Sabaoth
6. Burial Fields
7. The Sethian
8. Claw Marks On The Throne
9. Night Visitor
10. Ascend Into Darkness

AVALANCHE Release EP ‘Second Hand Band’

AVALANCHE are 4 misfits from Sydney’s west, playing gut-busting, roof-crashing, piss-off rock n’ roll for a new generation. Forming and rehearsing in an old steel factory in 2018, the band have firmly cemented themselves into the sticky floors of the national underground scene in just over 2 short years, with major national & international airplay, 5 major releases, non-stop gigging and touring, and their own music festival.

Now, the band are proud to present their second EP release, Second Hand Band, a loud and lewd 6 track EP featuring the stand-out singles from 2020, Permanent Ink, and Get Back (To Fuckwit City), and acts as a follow up to their 2019 debut-double EP, Sent From Hell, which has seen over 1300 physical copies sold worldwide.

Second Hand Band is the band’s ultimate statement. Perfectly capturing the experiences of a young rock band; thoroughly used, gently bruised and in somewhat working order, like a second hand sex toy you might find on Gumtree; all for your pleasure. This is hard rock. Real honest to God hard rock, as only 20-somethings from Sydney’s West (famous for producing tradies, drongo’s and long-arse Centrelink queues) can do.

In this way, Second Hand Band is the band. Tinged by the influence of their dad’s record collection and the dirty pub rock of Australia’s past, but played through the interpretation of their own generation. Avalanche have moulded and captured their signature sound & live show, one which routinely leaves the audience covered in blood, sweat and spit – and packaged it within 27 minutes of raw, ribbed, extra lubricated goodness, with new single (and title track) Second Hand Band, several music videos and a national release tour also in the works.

Recorded at DEF WOLF Studios with Producer & Engineer Mark Matula, the band worked hard to produce a warm, old-school feel, practically recording live in the studio, with a no fills, no frills, guitar-in-amp, stripped-back approach. This is no messin’ about, no ballads, no acoustic guitars, no smoke & mirrors, stripped to the bone rock n’ roll. Raging guitars, pounding bass, air-tight drums and vocals packed full of power, with the kind of passion and dedication that only these 4 can produce.

Second Hand Band | Released May 11th, 2021 via Sliptrick Records

Track Listing:
01. Killer Instinct | 02. Second Hand Band | 03. Get Back (To Fuckwit City) | 04. Spit In My Mouth | 05. Down In The Gutter | 06. Permanent Ink

HEAR ‘N NOW Release New Single And Video “Let’s Rock The Stage”

Pittsburgh-based label, RFL Records, has teamed up with the multi-artist coalition, HEAR ‘N NOW, to release the initiative’s second single, “Let’s Rock the Stage”. Off the heels of last year’s early pandemic collaboration, Hear ‘n Now dropped the track “No Road to Ruin,” as a way to raise awareness and financial relief for those who were hit hard by the initial impact of COVID-19.

This time around with Phase 2, efforts were focused on raising awareness and support for the Save Our Stages Act which was designed and implemented as a means to assist music venues and booking agencies that may be facing financial crisis and/or permanent closure.

Once again, Pennsylvania based promoter and internet radio host, William Loney, along with his Keep it Metal Promotions, organized a team of passionate artists from around the United States and as far away as Australia, who donated their time wanting to make a difference.

We’re excited about the release of Let’s Rock the Stage and honored to be a part of Hear ‘N Now once again,” said Keep it Metal Promotion’s Loney.“Every little bit helps and this is our little bit.”

Hear ‘N Now – Phase 2 “Let’s Rock The Stage” available now at: https://smarturl.it/letsrockthestage

“Let’s Rock the Stage” includes the talents of Chris Natalini of Blood Feast, Stu “The Hammer” Marshall of Death Dealer, Steve Stine from GuitarZoom, Taryn Dorothy of Starlight, Ed Mischke of Veronica, “The V” Freeman, Brian Ozz of Blackened Earth and the band Corners of Sanctuary (COS).

“Playing live is such a huge part of what we do and seeing some of these venues having to shut their doors is incredibly crushing to me,” said vocalist Chris Natalini of Blood Feast. “So when Hear ‘n Now asked me to be a part of another project, I jumped at the chance.”

“Let’s Rock the Stage” was written and produced by COS guitarist Mick Michaels and mastered by former Metal Blade Records exec and legendary producer Bill Metoyer (Slayer, W.A.S.P., Fates Warning).

“As artists, we have a responsibility to do our part to not only help the scene thrive but to keep it alive…especially during times like these,” said songwriter Mick Michaels. “We have to pay it forward to ensure there is still a scene to be a part of for years to come.”

Additional sponsors to the project include A Creation Productions, March Baby Media, Wrecking Ball Metal Fest, Cosmick Productions and the Vagabond Entertainment Group which produced the new single’s lyric video.

“Appreciate being a part of it…thanks for having me on board,” expressed guitarist Ed Mischke from Veronica “The V” Freeman.

“My pleasure…anytime,” echoed guitarist Stu “The Hammer”Marshall of Death Dealer.

“Let’s Rock the Stage” is now available digitally through RFL Records and bundled together with several other songs including “No Road to Ruin,” “Wild Card” and “Tonight We Roll;” two tracks donated by Corners of Sanctuary.
