KOSMODOME, another rising star in the firmament of Norway’s flourishing Prog Music scene, has found its way into Karisma Records capacious arms, with the label preparing to release the band’s debut full-length album later this year.
The brainchild of the two Sandvik brothers, Sturle on guitars and vocals, and Severin on drums, KOSMODOME’s music is riff-based Rock with Stoner elements all of which are placed within a progressive universe to great effect. Together, the duo have an explosive drive, where the melodic can often be found hand in hand with the hard and the heavy.
Having self- released an EP via streaming in 2019, KOSMODOME add a bassist and guitarist to their live performances, appearing on stage as a four-piece, and they are, understandably, excited to be working with Karisma Records for their first full-length release, as the band explains:
We feel very humble and honoured to have signed with Karisma Records alongside all their great and inspiring bands. This already feels like the start of a fun and lasting relationship, and we look forward to showing people what Kosmodome is all about!
Details of KOSMODOME’s upcoming album will be released in due course, but in the meantime, fans can get a taste of the band by listening to them on Spotify:

DEATHSTARS were formed in Strömstad, Sweden in 2000 – born of a variety of influences ranging from black and death metal, to hard rock and industrial. They’ve released four full-length studio albums to date; Synthetic Generation (2003), Termination Bliss (2006), Night Electric Night (2009), and The Perfect Cult (2014). The band has stated that Synthetic Generation was a bit of an experiment, the members all having come from underground extreme metal bands. Termination Bliss garnered the group immediate attention, the band touring heavily with own headliner tours around the planet but also varied different packages, such as with Cradle Of Filth and Korn to mention a couple, and winning music prizes, for example Golden Gods, whilst follow-up Night Electric Night launched them internationally, lauding them enormous praise and landing them a massive tour with Rammstein in arenas throughout Europe. Latest album The Perfect Cult saw them continue their impeccable run and the band is currently in the studio finishing up the next – yet untitled – album.
Newly formed death metal band INHUMAN CONDITION have released their first single, “Tyrantula” with an accompanying video. “Tyrantula” will be on the group’s debut album “Rat°God”. Watch the video at this location.
INHUMAN CONDITION announced its arrival earlier this year, when vocalist/drummer Jeramie Kling (ex-MASSACRE, VENOM INC, THE ABSENCE, GOREGÄNG) and guitarist Taylor Nordberg (ex-MASSACRE, THE ABSENCE, GOREGÄNG) revealed that the music that was previously written for the new MASSACRE album was to be revived in a new band with bassist Terry Butler(Obituary, ex-MASSACRE/DEATH/SIX FEET UNDER).
“Finally these songs can start seeing the light of day! It has been so long since they were originally written, but it has been well worth the wait. “Tyrantula” was such a fun choice for a single because it’s a total skull-smasher. From the intro, to the stomping riff, to the thrashy bits, it’s intense the whole way through, and I think it gets stuck in your head,” Nordberg said.
The video for “Tyrantula” was filmed at Bay Stage Live in Tampa, Florida by Deidra Kling, and edited by Jeramie Kling. The song on the album features a guest solo by fellow former MASSACRE member Rick Rozz, although he does not appear in the video.
“Rat°God” was recorded at Kling/Nordberg”s Smoke & Mirrors Productions in Spring Hill, Florida, where it was mixed by Kling and mastered by Nordberg. The band’s debut album will be released on June 4th through Kling/Nordberg’s own Listenable Insanity Records digitally, on CD, limited edition CD box set, and cassette. In addition, the band have partnered up with Blood Blast Distribution to release the album digitally, Black Serpent Records (Europe) to release a vinyl edition of the album as well as a CD release, and Spiritual Beast (Japan), Metalized Distro (Mexico), Rapture Records (Brazil), and BurdenTombs Records (Malaysia)will also release CDs of the album.
BODY VOID have released their new album, Bury Me Beneath This Rotting Earth, via Prosthetic Records. Bury Me Beneath This Rotting Earth is a bold and ambitious blackened doom opus comprised of four tracks that are both a clarion call for action and the sound of devotion.
Speaking on the album’s release, Willow Ryan (Guitar, bass, vocals) comments: “Bury Me Beneath This Rotting Earth feels like it came together really quick, but we’ve been writing, recording, and now sitting on these songs for over two years. The past year has been a grind of uncertainty, especially for those in underground music, but putting this album out now amidst so much turmoil and upheaval feels right. We’re extremely excited to finally get it out into the world and hope the right people find it.”
Recorded in June 2020 whilst the United States of America teemed with discordance and conflict under the heat of a sweltering summer and a tyrannical leader, Bury Me Beneath This Rotting Earth evolved into a document of its surroundings; a product of its environment. At Blackheart Sound in Manchester, New Hampshire the two members of BODY VOID worked with producer Eric Sauter, to process their feelings – both those that had been long festering, and those which were new and raw – into the four tracks that make up their third studio album. An additional layer of electronic filth was applied with the help of solo noise musician, and BODY VOID touring bassist, Entresol.
Lyrically, the album addresses the state of the USA within the context of the ever-decaying earth. Part love-letter, part manifesto, the tracks swing between the specific merciless destruction of climate change, and the complicit mindset that allows devastating harm to run rampant through society. The roiling disgust at the human impact on a cherished planet is juxtaposed with a defiance and devotion to embrace the Earth as it is, flaws and all.

Gothic Metallers MALACODA released their new EP Crawling Chaos on April 2nd, independently. Today the band has unleashed a guitar playthrough for “Deadlights” via Terra Relicta, performed by guitarist Wes MacDonald.
Wes adds: “Deadlights was written from a drum beat, which gives the overall vibe and great flow between sections. I love how the melody and dark vibe of this song shines in the keys while the guitars and drums keep it moving forward.”
With music described as “dark, foreboding and with lyrics to enjoy as well as unsettle.” (Powerplay Mag UK) being a constant in the band’s sound, the next step would be to write a follow up to Restless Dreams. While looking for a drummer, the band recorded throughout the rest of 2019/2020 with friends behind the drum kit.
Malacoda adds – “The song is based on the movie, It’s one of the better horror movie remakes that’s come out recently. We really tried to capture the emotion from the film with this one.” – Lucas Di Mascio

Two years after the release of their second album “Pale Season”, Swedish Prog-Rockers THENIGHTTIMEPROJECT proudly unveil and release the new stand-alone track ‘Merkurius‘.
Fredrik Norrmann comments on the background of this new composition:
“My first thought, since we have a pandemic going on, was to release a song instead of playing live. A lot of bands have made live-streams, but we did not have the feeling it was something for us. So, we decided to release a stand-alone single. But this way of working is also something, I have been thinking for a while. Instead of releasing an album every third year, release singles a few times every year. It would be interesting to try and see how people would react.”
‘Merkurius‘ is now available on all digital platforms. Also, a video directed by Dronicon Films can be viewed below.
Consisting of the famous Norrman brothers (ex-KATATONIA) as well as Jonas Sköld and Alexander Backlund (both LETTERS FROM THE COLONY), THENIGHTTIMEPROJECT creates music transcending the borders between different styles. This new composition is no different. ‘Merkurius‘ combines touching simplicity à la ANTIMATTER‘s early works with the best genre-breaking bands like GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR have to offer. Altogether, ‘Merkurius‘ is nothing less than a unique blend of Nordic nostalgia.
Singer and guitarist Alexander Backlund narrates about the development in THENIGHTTIMEPROJECT‘s art:
“THENIGHTTIMEPROJECT started as an avenue for Fredrik to explore a different side of his song writing, and I think that mentality is starting to rub off on the rest of us. “Pale Season” felt like an evolution of the self-titled debut, whereas this feels more like a tangent. It was not an experiment — we’ve always had a very ad hoc way of working — but it wasn’t planned out either. The pitfall of electronic music and being genre-independent is that you can keep on adding things ad absurdum, so the challenge was twofold — trying to push the envelope without compromising the DNA of the band and knowing when the damn thing is done. I had to suppress my inner YNGWIE MALMSTEEN. More is more, but more is not always better.”
The title ‘Merkurius‘ was chosen on incident, while Alexander Backlund was focusing on the atmosphere of the song:
“‘Merkurius‘ is the Swedish name for the planet Mercury. The why of it eludes me, but for whatever reason it was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the demo — being lost and alone on some desolate planet. I do not know if you’ve seen the latest photos from the Perseverance rover, but that’s what my mind has felt like lately. A world of thought past its prime, riddled with clues of better days.“
2010 – 2016: Not straying far from his most notable roots, Fredrik “North” Norrman founded THENIGHTTIMEPROJECT – a pleasantly nostalgic road for those more familiar with his work in KATATONIA. Joined by Tobias Netzell of IN MOURNING fame, along with Nicklas Hjertton, formerly of MANDYLON, their self-titled debut album is released in January 2016. The album receives standing ovations from the press, and with a mix of Rock, Metal, Progressive, Doom, Post-Rock and psychedelic elements it is indeed an interesting ride for the listener.
2017: The band releases the single ‘Anti Meridian‘. Mattias Norrman (OCTOBER TIDE) joins the band on bass. Later this year Tobias and Nicklas decide to leave the band due to lack of time.
2018: Joined by Jonas Sköld (OCTOBER TIDE, LETTERS FROM THE COLONY) on drums and vocalist Alexander Backlund (LETTERS FROM THE COLONY) the band works on the follow up to the debut album as well as rehearsing for live shows.
2019: “Pale Season”, the successor to the self-titled debut, sees the light of the day and receives praise from fans and press alike. Additionally, the band crafts their first video clip for the song ‘Final Light’ in cooperation with Bloudengaztia Wolfgang of Dronicon Films.
2021: THENIGHTTIMEPROJECT announces the coming of a new standalone track ‘Merkurius’. A calm and gentle tune which is nothing less than a unique blend of Nordic nostalgia.
