Today, July 16th, London based metallers JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS release their 6-track debut EP ‘The Abyss‘. To celebrate the EP, the band has unleashed a video for their latest single ‘The Purge‘.

Watch ‘The Purge’ video here:

Jason on ‘The Purge’:
“Very proud and excited to release our new video “The Purge”. It’s a song that talks about feeling stuck in your own prison and then you fight your own demons and you set yourself free from the pain. It was inspired by a personal chapter in my life and with the ideology of cleansing yourself from the sins and mistakes you did in the past. It’s about forgiving yourself and move on.
A powerful, upbeat, riff-driven, sing-along new single in support of my new EP, with a music video shot in the legendary Camden Town venue ‘The Underworld’ to accompany.”

Jason Payne on the debut EP “The Abyss”:
“The Dark is a song that sums up the theme of this EP, “The Abyss”. It’s about death, obscurity and the “nothing”. It talks of things like trying to reach to the void, feeling confused and betrayed, and about a person that’s losing his essence. Without a consciousness, and with no purpose in our lives, we’re just a bunch of roamers taking a road to the abyss, and that leads us to the dark and lashes us to insignificant beings floating in “the nothing”.
When I was writing this EP, I got affected by the outside world. It’s a dark period that we’re living. I caught the essence and the feelings that this time put me through and made a whole EP about existentialism and nihilism. This period made me question who am I, what’s my purpose, what have I done with my life and what if this all ends now? Would it matter? Do we matter? Does life matters? Of course, it does! In my opinion, there’s no point of doing anything or living if this doesn’t matter. However, when I wrote this EP, I don’t give you the bright side of the story. That’s for the fans to find out. My whole point with this work is to make people question their lives and feel these emotions. This record means so much to me, since it’s about everything I felt and still feel. I’m a person who never stops asking questions. I always want to know more. Specially, when it comes to existentialism, I’m always in internal conflict, since I question everything. This is my message, this is my music and it’s about how I feel, and hopefully, people will relate to it.”

Jason on ‘The Abyss’ EP and coverart:
“Writing this EP was a sensational experience for me. Lyrics are very personal and me and the guys put our hearts and soul in making this. It’s the most powerful, boldest and heaviest work we’ve ever done so far. I believe this sets new standards for our future works and I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved by creating such a unique work of art.
We named it the Abyss due to the dark period of time we’ve been going through, due to the pandemic. However, by diving into an abyss, for us, it doesn’t necessarily mean to hit the ground and die, but to be reborn. If we learn something from life is that every time we have to face a hard path, we have to find a way of overcoming those obstacles. These tracks are full of rage, insanity and introspective moods.
Fall into the glooms of darkness with us. Launch date: 16th July 2021.”

With a history boasting over half a million streams, 50 live shows and a modest lifetime of musical creation with past acts, London based metal artist Jason Payne took 2020 to embark on a new journey; JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS. A culmination and reincarnation of his strongest creations, featuring debut single ‘Waking The Damned’, plus ‘The Dark’, ’The Purge’, and numerous other high energy tracks making up the arsenal that is The Abyss, the debut EP out now. Vast distances from Earth’s dimension, in a galaxy millions of light-years away, the WIZARDTHRONE resurges! Traversing vivid sci-fi multiverses in the spirit of H.P. Lovecraft via comprehensively established technical death, power and symphonic black metal, Hypercube Necrodimensions (out today via Napalm Records) is a bombastic journey through hyperspace and otherworldly realities. Featuring members of ALESTORM, GLORYHAMMER, AETHER REALM, FORLORN CITADEL, NEKROGOBLIKON and more, the musical brilliance of WIZARDTHRONE is absolutely undeniable.

Watch the music video for “Black Hole Quantum Thermodynamics” HERE:

Guitarist/Songwriter M. Archistrategos Barber elucidates further:
“Black Hole Quantum Thermodynamics” was the first track written for WIZARDTHRONE, and encapsulates the deadliest facets of Extreme Wizard Metal. What better way to celebrate the momentous release of Hypercube Necrodimensions than bestowing a gift of this sort upon the Earth? Such a relentless and brutal song would surely need to be mirrored by an equivalent spectacle, and so it was that we entrusted the venerable videomage J. “Iconoclast” Nageer with this daunting task. Never before has the blasphemous allure of the boundless abyss been portrayed with such devastating accuracy! Xhul praises all who have waited patiently for this release, and assures you that diabolical forces are already in motion to further unleash the might of WIZARDTHRONE.”

Featuring guest appearances from Aleksi Munter (SWALLOW THE SUN/INSOMNIUM), Florian Magnus Maier (DARK FORTRESS/ALKALOID) and Evan Berry (WILDERUN), Hypercube Necrodimensions is a spectacular display of WIZARDTHRONE’s musical finesse, constantly pushing the boundaries of heavy metal and thus offering a one-of-a-kind extreme wizard metal listening experience!

AUDIO REIGN Release Video for ‘Relentless’, Song about Isolation During the Pandemic

Australian rockers AUDIO REIGN announce the release of their brand new music video for the single RELENTLESS. The video was premiered worldwide on BraveWords.com and is now available on the band’s YouTube channel, below.

Jake Fleming lead vocals from Audio Reign spoke about the new video, “The Relentless music video shoot was a massive effort by all. We worked our ideas with our close friend Eva Grzelak who wrote and produced the video. It was all shot on one windy freezing day haha (except for the androgenous relentless spirit clawing out of the ground) which was a separate shoot.
We had to carry all our band equipment by hand across to the middle of this massive field so that there were no tyre marks at the location where we set up. The video was shot out in the empty expansive field to really bring home the isolation concept. We had visuals added to the video to highlight the impact the pandemic had on us, the live music industry and the world in general. The androgenous Relentless spirit clawing out from the ground is a visual display of our relentless determination to rise strong from this situation.”

Don’t miss Audio Reign’s live virtual reality, VR, live stream by Netgigs on July 18th. Join the boys as they get set to unleash their explosive brand new single ‘RELENTLESS’ to the world. This very special Sunday afternoon event will be held at Crown and Anchor in Adelaide South Australia. There is no rest for the wicked: After already releasing a set of fantastic singles once again proving the inexhaustible creativity of SABATON, the band releases a cover version of MANOWAR‘s ‘Kingdom Come’ today – born as a tribute to the American metal heroes and a video game collaboration.

Watch the video for ‘Kingdom Come’ here:

Listen to the song here: https://sabaton.bfan.link/kingdom-come.ema

Pär Sundström, co-founder of SABATON and bass player, states:
“Our fans have spoken. YOU requested the release of this song everywhere, so this is for all of you!
This recording was meant to be a tribute to Manowar and a collaboration with a video game bearing the same name, when we recorded it a few years ago.
We are happy to see that you appreciate the song so much, and we have paid attention to your wishes and requests. You asked for it, you got it!”

Even before its physical release on August 27, the Limited Black/Red Spot 12” Vinylbecame a popular collector’s item with high scarcity value: The 666 copies were sold outwithin days. The EP includes ‘Metal Trilogy’, a medley of three SABATON songs: ‘Metal Ripper’, ‘Metal Crüe’ and ‘Metal Machine’.

SABATON is arguably the most important band to emerge from the modern metal scene, journeying forth with confidence on a steady ascendence that’s rewarded them with five Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards (including Best Live Band three different years) and multiple nominations for the Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards, the Grammis. In 2016, “The Last Stand” debuted at No. 1 in three different European countries and cracked the Top 3 in four others. Brodén (vocals), Sundström (bass), Chris Rörland (guitar), Hannes van Dahl (drums), and Tommy Johansson (guitar) curate a festival of their own, Sabaton Open Air, that started back in 2008, as well as their own forward-thinking Sabaton Cruise, that is being held since 2009. Their last album “The Great War” cracked the Top 10 in 11 countries including #1 positions in Switzerland, Germany and Sweden.

The band announced their “Tour To End All Tours” two weeks ago: In Spring 2022, SABATON will be visiting 26 cities in 17 countries, bringing their ground-breaking modern metal to the people and delivering breathtaking live shows in a setting that will once again set new bars for concerts of this kind. SABATON will be supported by Mongolian rock band THE HU and Finnish heavy metal veterans LORDI. VELVET INSANE: New Album ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Glitter Suit’ Out Now, New Music Video ‘Riding the Skyways’ Unleashed

Swedish glam rockers VELVET INSANE release their new album ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Glitter Suit’ today!

To celebrate this release the band’s also gifts us a new music video for the track ‘Riding the Skyways’, taken from the album.

Velvet Insane were formed in 2013 as a four-piece outfit but by the time of their self-titled debut album they were billed as a duo.

The first album took them around the world touring Europe, Japan, USA & Australia.

Their critically acclaimed debut was a fresh mix between classic rock, pop, inches of folk influences and it also contained traces of early 70’s British glam rock. And the band kept walking that glam track and now they’re back as a trio and this time it’s glam glitter boogie all over.

They hired the cult glam rockers Diamond Dogs frontman Sulo as a producer and together they’ve created a bright shining monster.

The 11 track long “Rock ’n’ Roll Glitter Suit” album sounds, breathes, and swaggers like it was made in London 1973.

Smooth pop harmonies pumped up by heavy drums and barbed wire guitars and singer that wear it well. It brings back memories of a time when Slade, TREX, Bowie & Roxy Music we’re topping the charts.

From the catchy singalong choruses of the pop gems “Velvet Tongue”, “Riding the Skyways” & “Sound of Sirens” to the frantic boogie energy in barroom stompers “Driving Down the Mountain”, “Backstreet Liberace” & “Space Age DJ”, it’s the real thing.

You also get a glimpse of Ziggy Stardust in the acoustic ballad “Midnight Sunshine Serenade”.

Velvet Insane are a band that plays with their hearts on their sleeves and it’s satisfaction guaranteed.

Dregen and Nicke Andersson from The Hellacopters jumps in the backseat in “Backstreet Liberace” and just like Rolling Stones honoured the tradition of Muddy Waters blues Velvet Insane takes on the job to keep rock ’n’ roll alive.
