JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS Reveal First Details Of Upcoming EP “The Abyss”

London based metallers JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS have revealed first details of their upcoming 6-tracks EP, entitled “The Abyss“.

Read what Jason has to say on upcoming EP:
“The Dark is a song that sums up the theme of this EP, “The Abyss”. It’s about death, obscurity and the “nothing”. It talks of things like trying to reach to the void, feeling confused and betrayed, and about a person that’s losing his essence. Without a consciousness, and with no purpose in our lives, we’re just a bunch of roamers taking a road to the abyss, and that leads us to the dark and lashes us to insignificant beings floating in “the nothing”.
When I was writing this EP, I got affected by the outside world. It’s a dark period that we’re living. I caught the essence and the feelings that this time put me through and made a whole EP about existentialism and nihilism. This period made me question who am I, what’s my purpose, what have I done with my life and what if this all ends now? Would it matter? Do we matter? Does life matters? Of course, it does! In my opinion, there’s no point of doing anything or living if this doesn’t matter. However, when I wrote this EP, I don’t give you the bright side of the story. That’s for the fans to find out. My whole point with this work is to make people question their lives and feel these emotions. This record means so much to me, since it’s about everything I felt and still feel. I’m a person who never stops asking questions. I always want to know more. Specially, when it comes to existentialism, I’m always in internal conflict, since I question everything. This is my message, this is my music and it’s about how I feel, and hopefully, people will relate to it.”

Stay tuned for more details.

JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS will play the all-day hard-hitting show at Camden Rocks on July 10th, alongside Reverted, Rival Karma, Janus Stark, Bleeding Antlers, Star Circus, Thousand Thoughts, Season of Ghosts, The Blood Republic, Tales of Perdition and Red Light Acid Test at The Black Heart! Tickets – http://camdenrocks.seetickets.com. Facebook Event page.

Jason stated:
“It has been too long since I’ve played a show. We’re so excited to be back on stage! I know it’s gonna be a great moment for us and for the fans!”

With a history boasting over 300,000 streams, 50 live shows and a modest lifetime of musical creation with past acts, London based metal artist Jason Payne has taken 2020 to embark on a new journey; JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS. GENTLE SAVAGE Release Lyric Video For New Single ‘Lovin’ Ain’t Easy’

GENTLE SAVAGE have released a lyric video for their new rocking single ‘Lovin’ Ain’t Easy‘, graphic & digital art by Kristian K XP, watch it here: http://hyperurl.co/GentleSavage_Lovin

‘Lovin’ Ain’t Easy’ is available on all major streaming services, at https://smarturl.it/gentlesavage_lovin
Order ‘Lovin’ Ain’t Easy’ at https://smarturl.it/GS_Lovin_Single_2021.

Lead vocalist Tornado tells the whole story on the single:
Lovin’ Ain’t Easy is a presentation of a persons emotional state when without really knowing why, one has been rejected and left stranded by the loved one. In this case the narrator is a male person, but it could be anyone who lives in an intimate relationship with another human being. The mood is neither sad nor aggressive. It’s more like the narrators love affirmation. He leaves the decision whether to quit or to continue in the hands of the beloved woman who’s leaving home.

The atmosphere, melodies and harmonies borrow musically from the wonderful 70’s era. Spiced with modern production and sound engineering Lovin’ Ain’t Easy leans towards The Beatles and Alice Cooper. A careful listener can find some delicate details in the soundscape, submerged in the background and filling up the scenery. This tune is closest to the feel of Gentle Savage when the band first started writing music and it is planned to be a stand-alone single, not included to the upcoming ‘Midnight Waylay’ debut album.

Tornado on the single coverart:
“The idea of using the Chaos cross in the cover art of Lovin’ Ain’t Easy popped up during the vocal recordings. Vocalist Tornado Bearstone has a Chaos cross pendant he got years ago from his best friend while this friend was getting married. Tornado was the best man and as they both had Chaos cross pendants, they decided to swap and wear each others crosses in the wedding ceremony. Seeing the pendant hanging in his vocal booth while singing the vocal lines of Lovin’ Ain’t Easy brought up some memories, ideas and questions about entropy, chaos and love. All combined to the Chaos cross symbol. You wanna know more?”

“You see…Life seems to be affected by the law of Thermodynamics (Second law of Thermodynamics = The second law may be formulated by the observation that the entropy of isolated systems left to spontaneous evolution cannot decrease, as they always arrive at a state of thermodynamic equilibrium, where the entropy is highest). Right. Sounds surprisingly much the way it sometimes is in love and relationships. This brought Tornado to think about chaos (a state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order). Allright…now that sounds like a lovers spat.”

“Lovin’ Ain’t Easy lyrics combined with Tornado’s playful deductions about entropy and chaos formed the single cover that asks you symbolically; You dare to jump without control?
And in the end; come hell or high water, it’s always good to Rock’n Roll!”

As previously announced, Due to the current Covid pandemic GENTLE SAVAGE are forced to postpone their debut album ‘Midnight Waylay’ release to later this Spring. The new release date will be announced soon.

Tornado on the debut album: “Midnight Waylay depicts a ‘taking it easy in the daytime, turning into a beast at night’ kind of lifestyle. Just like a hunter strikes from the shadows, ruthless and silent, these songs can without warning rock your world. As a concept the album Midnight Waylay is best appreciated when served whole, but each song has its own character and works well independently. Find your own adventure, let yourself loose!”

Swedish LEACH Release D.O.D. Single, Feat. Bjorn Speed Strid

Swedish thrashers LEACH have release D.O.D., the first single from their upcoming album “Lovely Light of Life” via Metal- Rules. The track is featured by Bjorn Speed Strid, and can be heard at this location. Pre-sale available here:
https://orcd.co/pvbab6r.

If it’s burly, melodic, and fits together perfectly, it’s probably from Sweden. LEACH certainly fall into the above categories, and their warts-and-all style of thrash ‘n’ roll is just begging for a throwdown.

Lovely Light of Life is their third major rodeo and, straight out of the gate, it’s a thrash, hardcore and rock ‘n’ roll mission statement. LEACH have established a style and sound which is wholly theirs and which makes them stand out from the crowd. Lovely Light of Life will be released worldwide on May 21st on the American label Brutal Records.

The record features a varied yet cohesive collection of relentlessly chugging grooves and anthemic riffs carved out of the foundation of rock itself. The band is anything but a one-trick pony and has a distinctive knack of using dynamic changes and sonic shifts to keep listeners captivated. LEACH know how to get the pit started and can keep their audience hooked in until the very last track.

To top it off, the production strikes a perfect balance between crisp and rough-‘n’-ready – a tip to the skills of Christian Silver at Studiomega (Arch Enemy, Kreator, Soilwork, Dragonforce).

Lovely Light of Life also includes a bonus track, “D.O.D”, featuring Soilwork vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid – a fact that the band is clearly delighted with:-
Getting Björn to feature on one of our songs is of course a big deal. Us growing up in Sweden, Soilwork were such a big influence on us — still are. And Björn, being the pro he is, absolutely nailed it on the first try. Stoked to have him on one of our songs and definitely something we now can check off our bucket list.

Coming from such a rich music scene as Sweden’s, a band cannot help but take some influence from their forefathers. In this case, the insistent energy of Raised Fist, the rock ‘n’ roll parts of latter-day Entombed, and the infectious melodies of The Haunted are all evident in LEACH‘s sound. The US also gets a look in, with Hatebreed’s snarling bravado and the thrash-fest of Exodus and Nuclear Assault all figuring into the melting pot.

LEACH is a band built for the stage and, with live experiences that stretch from Europe to Dubai, the power and reach of their frantic energy has been proven. They are now hungry and eager to bring their sonic onslaught to all corners of the world.

Tracklist:

Serenade (For The Broken Brave)
Carry The Stigma
Trench Walk
Scorched Earth Tactics
Aniara
True North
Down For Counting
Vultures
Gaslighting
Sweet Blasphemy
D.O.D (Feat. Bjorn Strid of Soilwork) (Bonus track)

DANKO JONES Share New Fan Only Single ‘Flaunt It’ With Lyric Video To Commemorate 25th Anniversary

DANKO JONES have shared new garage punk blitz, “Flaunt It” along with a lyric video. This is a fan-only single. Watch it HERE! The lyric video commemorates the band’s 25th Anniversary and comes off of their upcoming album Power Trio out August 27th via Mate In Germany. Album pre-orders are available HERE!

The new track follows the lead single “I Want Out“, released mid-March. Currently the single has seen success as it hits Top 3 at German Rock Charts.

“Power Trio” sees Danko Jones delivering each engine-revving riff, soul-shaking stomp, and shout-it-loud hook with a sniper’s precision. It’s such a simple, self-evident title, but one loaded with significance, as it speaks to the special triangular alchemy Danko shares with his trusty bass-slinging accomplice JC and drummer Rich Knox. It also stakes out the band’s place on a storied lineage of three-piece titans Jimi Hendrix Experience, ZZ Top, Rush, Motörhead, Venom, Dinosaur Jr., and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, to name a few.

When you choose to start a power trio, you’re not simply forming a band, you’re entering a blood pact—a tacit acknowledgement that all three members need to carry their equal share of the weight lest the whole enterprise collapse. There’s nowhere to hide in a power trio—no second guitarist to cover your mistakes, no keyboard player to smooth things over, no horn section to distract the crowd. If you fuck up, the whole band fucks up. Everybody needs to be on their A-game at all times.

“Power Trio” follows the band’s electrifying, world charting album, “A Rock Supreme” released in 2019. It also sees the band once again tapping into the production prowess of Eric Ratz, who previously amped up the bone-breaking boogie of 2017’s full-throttle rocker “Wild Cat” and 2015’s bloodlusty “Fire Music”.

CANNIBAL CORPSE Launch Video For “Necrogenic Resurrection”

An exclusive Decibel Magazine vinyl edition of Violence Unimagined can also be pre-ordered here: store.decibelmagazine.com

Comprised of eleven tracks, Violence Unimagined is state of the art death metal played with passion and breathless precision, making for another flawless addition to what is inarguably one of the premier catalogues the genre has thrown up. “It really follows the path we’ve been going down for a few years now,” states bassist and founding member Alex Webster. “I think we approach the writing in a similar way most every time: each of us try to write the heaviest, most memorable songs we can. We want each song to have its own identifiable character. Showing my age, I like to say you can ‘drop the needle’ on any point of one of our albums and quickly tell which song you’re listening to.”

While they continue to do what they do with aplomb, the one substantial change to Cannibal Corpse is the addition of guitarist Erik Rutan to their ranks, joining Webster, founding drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, guitarist Rob Barrett and vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. Known for his roles in Morbid Angel, Ripping Corpse and most notably fronting the mighty Hate Eternal, Rutan has long established himself as one of the most dynamic forces in contemporary death metal. Simultaneously, he has built up a reputation as one of the most in demand producers in metal, having previously produced four Cannibal Corpse albums (in addition to Violence Unimagined), alongside the likes of Goatwhore, Soilent Green and Belphegor. Filling in live on guitar since 2019, in 2020 he became a full member, contributing to the writing process. “I think the most noticeable difference on this record will be the addition of Erik to the band. He wrote three full songs for the record, music and lyrics, and his song writing and guitar playing have added something new, and I think his musical style integrated into ours very well,” Webster enthuses. This is not all that he brings to the band. “He’s a great friend of ours, so on a personal level, he’s been a perfect fit, as we knew he would be. Beyond that, he’s one of the hardest working people I know, in music or otherwise, and he maintains a high energy, positive demeanor in challenging situations where other people might go in a negative direction. This energy and great attitude rubs off on the rest of us as well. That’s really a perfect situation to have when you add someone to a band, or any kind of team: someone who’s great at what they do, and also inspires the people around them.”

Already well known for the level of extreme technicality they bring to every record, on Violence Unimagined, Cannibal Corpse have further upped their game, particularly in Mazurkiewicz’s drumming. “I think we all pushed ourselves a bit technically on this one, with Paul probably pushing the hardest. This album is probably the most drum-intense album we’ve done yet. Part of that could be a result of Erik joining the band. His song writing style often features technically challenging drumming, probably owing to his years of experience in high speed death metal.” And with typically dark and warped lyrical content, Mazurkiewicz came up with the fitting title of the record, “summing up what the band is about in every facet, and taking violence to another level of extremity.”

Violence Unimagined track-listing
1. Murderous Rampage
2. Necrogenic Resurrection
3. Inhumane Harvest
4. Condemnation Contagion
5. Surround, Kill, Devour
6. Ritual Annihilation
7. Follow the Blood
8. Bound and Burned
9. Slowly Sawn
10. Overtorture

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal ‘Abjuration’ Music Video

Symphonic death metal pioneers GENUS ORDINIS DEI have just released the eighth music video entitled  “Abjuration” from their critically acclaimed & highly praised concept album entitled Glare Of Deliverance. The video was directed by Steve Saints. In this episode, The Cross demands that Eleanor repent for her sins however, The Fallen seems to have different plans for his new servant… Watch the new “Abjuration” music video / Episode 8 from Glare Of Deliverance at this location or watch the first eight episodes RIGHT NOW via the official series playlist located here and stay tuned for the final two episodes throughout the first half of 2021…

“This episode is kind of like the calm before the storm. Eleanor is brought before the Bishop to confess her crimes and repent, but the encounter from her dream the night before pays off. She is changed now, and ready to rise against her captors,” says vocalist & guitarist Nick Key. “We worked with Alessandra and Floriana on make-up that could represent this change. After the dream Eleanor keeps her new clothes, as if the dream was true. It is as if the encounter was real and in fact she is different. Eleanor has evolved and can see the big picture now, so she refuses to repent and threatens the Bishop. She challenges The Cross and is now a servant of The Fallen. Once again, we loved the performance of Emilia in this delicate passage, she is an amazing actress.”

Glare of Deliverance was produced by guitarist Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at Sonitus Studio, and it is the band’s third full-length album. The album was recently released on December 4, 2020 and has received dozens of rave reviews from all over the world. Heavy Metal Heaven gives it 94/100 calling it “a masterpiece among the most radiant albums of 2020” while A&P Reacts says “this album is absolutely flawless and perfect”. The praise goes on and on from dozens of highly respected media outlets. For just a sample of highlights, see here.

Glare Of Deliverance is the band’s most ambitious achievement yet. The scope and vision of the project had grown monumentally huge in comparison to their initial plans for the album. Aside from recording & producing a ten-song concept album, the band had to pull together a full production team for the ten-episode video series which consisted of concept artist Tom Roberts (Ghost), costume designers, animal trainers, prop construction, a cast of actors & actresses, visual effects supervisors, special effects wizards, stuntmen, catering services, and even a full orchestral choir!
