GROZA’s “Elegance of Irony” follows their previously released title track “The Redemptive End.” Listen to it here: https://youtu.be/hUhHKuAY2cE

As the world stands still, paralyzed and numb with fear, German black metal collective GROZA breaks the deafening silence to unveil their second full length album “The Redemptive End” – capturing the current times devastating atmosphere of utmost hopelessness and resignation.

Founded as a one-man project by singer / guitarist P.G. in 2016, the band grew towards a full band in the following two years, culminating in the birth of their first effort – “Unified In Void” (2018). With its revelation through AOP Records, a storm was spawned to consume everything and everyone crossing its path, relentlessly raging with passion and wrath during many live rituals on tours and festivals all over Europe.

Although the familiar rumble and chants of raw anger and despair continue to drone unabated on the successor, GROZA’s sound also explores new frontiers on the band’s latest album. For the first time, clean, even post-rock inspired passages shine deceptive rays of light through the dark, only to be devoured by searing melodies, drenched in sorrow and hopelessness and devastated by raging storms of blast beats, in the very next moments.

“The Redemptive End” was recorded during the summer / autumn of 2020. Recorded and mixed by P.G. and mastered with the help of Michael Kraxenberger (Sick Of Sound), the six tracks of the album encapsulate the prevailing state of numbing isolation and desperation in sonic format.

“The Redemptive End” Tracklisting:
1. Sunken In Styx – Part 1: Submersion
2. Sunken In Styx – Part II: Descent
3. Elegance of Irony
4. The Redemptive End
5. Nil
6. Homewards

EYEHATEGOD released A History Of Nomadic Behavior in March via Century Media Records. The record followed a period that saw the band on the road for three years, preceded by vocalist Mike IX Williams suffering liver failure and a transplant. The album was produced by Eyehategod, Sanford Parker (Yob, Voivod), and James Whitten (Thou, High On Fire), with mixing by Whitten. The band recorded at HighTower Recording and Hypercube Studios.

EYEHATEGOD is the snarling, bilious sound of dead-end America. Since 1988, they’ve been a soundtrack for the troubled masses. Pitchfork dubbed them the, “quintessential Southern sludge band,” Rolling Stone crowned them one of, “America’s great live bands,” while Thrasher called them, “true musical pioneers in every sense of the word.” Anyone familiar with EYEHATEGOD’s trajectory knows this is survivor’s music, a sound unto itself where Sabbathian riffs are meted out with a caustic anger that goes beyond punk. That’s been the blueprint since guitarist Jimmy Bower (also of NOLA supergroup, Down) founded the band in 1988 with vocalist Mike IX Williams joining not long after. With a discography including sludge-punk mainstays like In The Name Of Suffering (1990), Take As Needed For Pain (1993) Dopesick (1996), Confederacy Of Ruined Lives (2000) and 2014’s eponymous LP, released in the US through Housecore Records, EYEHATEGOD laid the cracked foundation for their infamous and influential sound. The band is rounded out by bassist Gary Mader and drummer Aaron Hill.

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal “Fire”, 10th Video Episode From Mini-Series ‘Glare of Deliverance’

Symphonic death metal pioneers Genus Ordinis Dei have released the tenth (and final) music video episode entitled “Fire” from their critically acclaimed & highly praised concept album entitled Glare Of Deliverance. The video was directed by Steve Saints. In this episode Eleanor meets her destiny. She is brought to the pyre where The Bishop, The Inquisitor, The Screamer, The Torturer, and The Executioner are waiting for her. She is burned on the pyre, along with The Heart of Stone she received from The Fallen. As she dies, the ritual is fulfilled and the Gates of Hell are opened… The Fallen and his army can now march upon the sky! Watch the new “Fire” music video / Episode 10 from Glare Of Deliverance at this location or watch the entire ten-episode mini-series RIGHT NOW via the official series playlist.

“This is the final episode, the end of a journey that has kept us busy for almost 2 years! It has been an amazing experience; difficult and weird but extremely satisfying too. Not just because it’s a great piece of work, but also because I did it with my brothers: Nick, Steven, and Richard. We met a lot of great people in the process, and we want to say thank you to all of them from the deep of our hearts and souls, especially our crowd-funders who helped make it all possible” says guitarist Tommy. “Shooting in the darkness at nighttime was yet another new experience for us, but it all turned out great. Getting the shots of Eleanor and her captors in the dark as she danced with the huge flames were difficult, but it all worked out. We want to thank everyone at Wild Horses Ranch in Verdello for providing the comfort, space, and assistance to get all the shots we needed.” Vocalist Nick Key adds, “we want to thank everyone who has been following Eleanor’s adventure, everybody that has supported our crazy project, and everybody who will do so in the future. Of course, this is not the end, because a new journey is about to begin…”

Glare of Deliverance was produced by Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at Sonitus Studio, and it is the band’s third full-length album. It was released on December 4, 2020 and has received countless rave reviews from all over the world. For just a sample of the highlights, see here.

Glare Of Deliverance is the band’s most ambitious achievement yet. The scope and vision of the project had grown monumentally huge in comparison to their initial plans for the album. Aside from recording & producing a ten-song concept album, the band had to pull together a full production team for the ten-episode video series which consisted of concept artist Tom Roberts (Ghost), costume designer Floriana Setti, animal trainers from Wild Horses Ranch, prop & mask constructor Alessandra Faienza, a cast of actors & actresses starring Emilia Scarpati Fanetti as Eleanor, visual effects supervisors, special effects wizards, stuntmen, catering services, and even a full orchestral choir, Il Circolo Delle Quinte conducted by Margherita Colombo!

VOLBEAT, the multi-platinum Danish band, have shared their new music video for “Wait A Minute My Girl.” The music video was directed by Sean Donnelly, founder of AWESOME+modest, with collages by Mengqing Yuan, and animation by Steve Yeung. AWESOME+modest is an animation studio based in Los Angeles, California that specializes in mixed media techniques. They most recently created all of the animation in the HBO documentary miniseries “The Lady and the Dale”, Marvel’s “Behind the Mask” and Showtime’s “The One and Only Dick Gregory.” The band said of the video: “After seeing the work they did on The Lady and the Dale we knew that Sean and the team at Awesome+modest could do something trippy and creative for “Wait A Minute My Girl.” This video exceeded even our wildest expectations. It’s weird, fun and crazy – we absolutely love it.” Watch the music video for “Wait A Minute My Girl” here.

Along with “Wait A Minute My Girl” Volbeat also recently shared their song “Dagen Før.” The two tracks, the band’s first new music since 2019’s album Rewind, Replay, Rebound, were written and recorded while the world was in lockdown during the pandemic. Michael, Kaspar and Jon recorded their parts with long-time producer Jacob Hansen in Denmark, while Rob worked remotely from New York. Watch the lyric videos for each song here.

“Wait A Minute My Girl” features saxophone player Doug Corcoran and piano player Raynier Jacob Jacildo, who both perform with JD McPherson’s band and previously appeared with Volbeat on 2019’s “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon).” Singer Mia Maja, who has worked with the band since Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie, also appears on backing vocals. “Dagen Før” features guest vocals from Danish artist Stine Bramsen, who is known for her solo work as well as being a member of the band Alphabeat. The song, in the tradition of “The Garden’s Tale,” “Maybele I Hofteholder” and “For Evigt,” features both English and Danish lyrics, and marks the first commercially-released song that features Stine singing in her native Danish.

LEVIATHAN PROJECT is a powerful new Metal ensemble, featuring, Bobby Koeble (Death), Matt Nardo (Producer), Tk (Britny Fox) and Tim “Ripper” Owens (guest vox, x-Judas Priest) exploring the ongoing study of our human condition through music, writings, and visual communication. The result is an aggressive and captivating sound that combines traditional Heavy Metal with catchy melodies, haunting vocals and other worldly guitars.

Leviathan Project released its first EP ‘It’s Their World’ on June 4th and it is quickly becoming a stand out release.  Scars and Guitars states, “IMHO it is the finest collection of metal songs in many years, easily the standout release thus far in 2021!” To commemorate the kick off of the Leviathan Project, Deko Entertainment wanted to throw it back to the early days of Metal when you would discover new bands through tape trading by making this first EP available also on a Limited Edition cassette.

Leviathan Project’s second EP ‘Edge of Time’ continues in the same format with 3 brand new songs intertwined with instrumental interludes including standout tracks like “Attack”, which the band has just release a lyric video for. TK had this to say about it, “Attack is a straight to the point hard rock song driven by a really heavy guitar riff.  It covers a lot of ground in a short period of time including multiple guitar leads and a killer keyboard solo reminiscent of early Yngwie Malmsteen records” Look out for the full release ‘Sound Of Galaxies’ due out early fall.
