NAHAYA Release New Music Video And Digital Single “Deific Mask”

NAHAYA (ft. members of Oceans of Slumber, Vesperian Sorrow, ex-Kingdom Collapse, Painting The Massacre, Cerebral Desecration) will be unleashing their new album, entitled “Vital Alchemy” via Rockshots Records on May 21, 2021.The Texan band is an amalgamation of American melodic groove thrash, Gothenburg sounds, and Middle Eastern influences. The band was founded in 2013 by Ryan Peters with Semir Ozerkan, who immigrated to the US from Istanbul, Turkey to pursue career opportunities in metal, one being with Oceans of Slumber.

“Vital Alchemy” follows the band’s well-received EPs “Transcendence Pt. II” (2020) and “Transcendence” (2018). Since the band’s conception, they have been working hard to make a name for themselves independently, performing over 50 shows year-round in Texas and neighboring states including Austin’s SXSW festival and becoming national finalists for the 2019 Wacken Metal Battle USA competition.

Mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Scale the Summit), “Vital Alchemy” is seven tracks that will take fans through a wide range of emotions. There is something on this record for every kind of music lover. From the melody to the groove to the speed and unlike its predecessors that were focused on themes of science fiction, this new record takes on more personal interest, spirituality, and metaphysics along with it being more musically dynamic and experimental, incorporating progressive, acoustic, melancholic sounds with thrashing elements.

Overall, “Vital Alchemy” also signifies a rebirth for NAHAYA as the new tracks featured on the recording are the next step in the band’s evolution when it comes to their musical direction.

Today, the band shares the first single “Deific Mask” in support of the upcoming full length. The track is one of the fastest on the release. It has pummeling drums, a nasty solo, and a hooky chorus.

The band adds: “We are extremely excited to release our first single Deific Mask with our fresh new lineup. Deific Mask was written during a major lineup change within Nahaya. The song has a speed metal influence with a catchy clean vocal chorus. We think the song will be a definite circle pit starter live.“

OSIAH Announce New Album ‘Loss’, Stream New Single

Northern England’s most ferocious metallers, OSIAH, return with their long-awaited new LP. Loss will be released 7th May via Unique Leader and can be pre-ordered here: https://orcd.co/loss

The band are also streaming their monstrous new single ‘The Eye of The Swarm’, featuring Shadow of Intent‘s Ben Duerr.

Osiah comment:

“Loss is Osiah’s darkest record to date, combining the monolithic misery of our debut record Terror Firma, with a more matured technicality first showcased in our sophomore; Kingdom of Lies.

“This record is the truest representation of Osiah to date, unhindered by linear concepts and wrote from a place of emotion instead.

“Featuring a new line up;
Loss will cater to those familiar with our aggression, and also allow new listeners to be shown a raw unfiltered version of who we are, before they have an opportunity to witness our previous efforts.

“Osiah is stronger, faster, and more punishing than ever before, and we’ve called in our good friends Ben Duerr (Shadow of Intent) and Jason Evans (Ingested) to ensure the gears constantly step up throughout the album, not a single second of this record went to waste and we are excited to finally unleash this conduit of brutality.”

Hailing from the extreme music melting pot that is the North East of England, Osiah have made a name for themselves transcending the deathcore label with their trademark hideous, grisly, torturous barrage of filth.

Recognising that 2021 has not yet been punishing enough, the band have returned with their sickeningly heavy new record, Loss.

Crushingly intense breakdowns and acerbic deathly chops are classic Osiah, with jarringly downtuned guitars, surprising tempo changes and unearthly vocals all bringing to the fore one of the UK’s heaviest sounds on record. It is this commendably mature approach that elevate Osiah to the realm of heavyweight, alongside genre-pushing greats Fit For An Autopsy and Enterprise Earth. Special guest features from Jason Evans (Ingested vocalist) and Ben Duerr (Shadow of Intent vocalist) only serve to highlight the band’s status further.

Having toured with Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless, and Distant, and cutting their teeth on the underground circuit, Osiah will only continue to make a name themselves – fully matched with their home on Unique Leader Records, the world’s heaviest label.

Tracklisting
1. Realm of Misery
2. The Second Law
3. Paracusia
4. Queen of Sorrow
5. Temporal Punishment
6. Loss (feat. Jason Evans)
7. Terracide Compulsion

9. War Within Our Walls
10. The Ominous Mind (Jaded Inside)

LOST RELICS To Release New EP ‘Now We’re Even’

Denver dirt rockers LOST RELICS are back with their 1st official release, the 5 track EP Now We’re Even to be released via Coffin & Bolt Records / Golden Robot Records on April 30th.

Low rumblings of jagged frequencies form an avatar of oppressive weight for our crumbling society. We clutch to the last gasps of truth smothered by the ocean of deception. Harbingers of this decline, LOST RELICS, employ Richter scale riffs to manifest the emotional density of these troubled times. Songs of protest. Songs of desperation. Songs for the end.

The band has dropped two monstrous singles from the EP to date. The first being ‘Unrealistic Cause’ followed by the title track ‘Now We’re Even’.

Pre-Save/Order the Now We’re Even EP HERE

The weight of indifference is the boulder that crushes our society. Empathy is dead and with it so are we. It is an ‘Unrealistic Cause’. LOST RELICS employ Richter scale riffs to manifest the emotional density of these troubled times. Songs of protest. Songs of desperation. Songs for the end.

On ‘Now We’re Even’ dark times and isolation manifest themselves into driving grooves and breakneck time changes for this barnburner track. Imagine pacing the room, trusting no one and crawling out of your skin and you will be part of this sludgy, riff filled journey.

Volume. Riffs. Apathy. Lost Relics formed in 2019 and have been gaining steam since the day they plugged in.

Formed from the ashes of Low Gravity, The Worth and Smolder and Burn, Marc Brooks, Jess Ellis, Jason James and Greg Mason quickly hit the ground rolling with their monstrous riffs with breakneck changes and dual vocal delivery. After releasing their self-titled EP in February of 2019, they have steadily been taking the stage to open for national acts and playing festivals across the front range of Colorado.

MONSTER MAGNET To Release Delightfully Psychotic Covers Album “A Better Dystopia”

When psychedelic rock icons MONSTER MAGNET got off the plane in the USA after their Powertrip tour of Europe in February 2020, they already realized that they’d dodged a bullet. The band members were all healthy, despite having spent the last week of the month-long excursion gigging overseas, and at that point, many of those countries were in total lockdown. Part two of that tour, North America, was scheduled to begin three weeks later, but the rest is history… no live music, anywhere. So, what’s a band that’s been touring regularly for 30 years to do with this newfound downtime?

Frontman Dave Wyndorf tells the inspired tale below, but without further ado – Napalm Records is pleased to present the next chapter of MONSTER MAGNET’s rabbit hole deep dive, A Better Dystopia (out May 21, 2021): a delightfully (and psychotically) curated collection of 60’s and 70’s proto-metal and late-era psych obscurities covered by the heavy New Jersey legends themselves.

While the album marks a new frontier for MONSTER MAGNET as their first covers record, this is not your typical set of standards released to pass time. A Better Dystopia sees the band pay homage to some of their favorite songs of all time, while reflecting on the paranoia, dystopia and revolution of both now – and then.

Fans can experience a first taste of A Better Dystopia via the swaggering riffs and swirling vocals on album’s first single, “Mr. Destroyer” (originally by Poo-Bah), today via a new video.

Dave Wyndorf says about the birth of A Better Dystopia:
“We all agreed that we would be bored out of our minds within a month of lockdown. MONSTER MAGNET loves the road. It’s a lifestyle. So, I considered our options. Rather than panhandle on the internet, hawking masks and Zoom-rocking practice sessions for dollars, I suggested we record a “bunker record”. A total DIY affair (band only) recorded and mixed in Bob Pantella’s small but potent Freak Shop Studios/rehearsal space right here in New Jersey. But what to record?

I didn’t feel much like writing, but working on anything was better than watching the news as hospitals filled up, people died, and American politics went bat-shit crazy. The world roared “Dystopia! Apocalypse! Revolution!”. I’d heard those words before, and they brought to mind my childhood in the late 60’s/early 70’s… and the music… and short playlist of songs (just one of many) that I’d been carrying around with me on my whatever device to listen to before shows. Of course, these tunes have also been in my head for more or less my whole life. These were not the popular hits of the time. This was like a playlist from the 4th dimension… strange bits of musical obscurity, mostly dredged up from that inglorious and freaky “twilight zone” time that preceded Arena Rock, Heavy Metal, Reggae and Disco. A no-man’s land of hard rock that still had remnants of psychedelia and garage punk but had abandoned any notion of “flower power” or frat house fun. And of course, they rocked.

Yeah, these songs were it.”

Wyndorf is at the top of his game on A Better Dystopia, delivering each lyric in his own inimitable style, and musicians Phil Caivano, Bob Pantella, Garrett Sweeney and Alec Morton own the sound – vintage and old school, dense and heavy, with searing fuzz leads and pounding bass and drums all played in a deft style that’s almost been lost in modern music. The album opens with “The Diamond Mine”, as Dave Wyndorf recites a classic monologue by Dave Diamond, an American radio DJ whose programs in the late 60’s and early 70’s helped popularize many psychedelic and acid rock bands. At this point the real trip begins, as the opening chords of the Hawkwind classic “Born To Go” gear up for launch. Tracks like standout “Mr. Destroyer” (Poo-Bah) spur visions of some untold Freak revolution – or perhaps dinosaurs battling on a burning planet at the end of time – creating a perfect blend of hard rock and psychedelia. Feverish “Motorcycle (Straight To Hell)” (Table Scraps) is pure punk fury of the old school tradition, evoking a cross between Iggy Pop and Motörhead as Wyndorf wails “I’m gonna drive it straight to HELL!” Falling even further down the mind-bending rabbit hole, Magnet offers their stunning, whirlwind take on the often-overlooked hard rock classic “Learning To Die” (Dust) and a masterful version the Stooges meets Goth epic, “Solid Gold Hell” (The Scientists). The album closes with a bonus nuclear cover of Morgen’s “Welcome To The Void”, inviting you to restart the ride again and again.

Wyndorf concludes:
“The great bands whose music we lovingly interpret here were (and some still are) on the fringe, underrated, and in our opinion, really, really cool. I think that’s reason enough for us to do this album. Furthermore, A Better Dystopia is a collection of songs that I think reflect (knowingly or unknowingly) a paranoid time in history, but also deflect that same paranoia by owning it, fully. And of course, it ROCKS.”

VOLTAGEHAWK Release Live Performance Lyric Video For “Straight Razor”

East Nashville, TN based Hard Rockers VOLTAGEHAWK have released the official, live performance lyric video for their newest single, “Straight Razor.” Originally premiered on Ghost Cult Magazine, “Straight Razor” is off of the band’s upcoming LP, Electric Thunder, to be released via The Label Group / INgrooves, and was recorded at Electric Thunder Studios with Geoff Piller and mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering (Black Keys, Ghost, Arctic Monkeys, Dr John).

“Imperfection is part of being human. We often hurt the people we love and don’t even know it. When we become self aware and mindful, suddenly we can see “gunpowder power” in our loved ones eyes. Sometimes we meet our match with someone who loves us so much that they will kick our ass to save our life. That’s the story of Straight Razor, my girl.“ – Dan Fenton (Vocals / Guitar)

“The hard-grooving, guitar solo-slinging, members of Voltagehawk jam with an unbridled passion for the almighty Riff on the track, and the video is a fun mash-up of a performance clip and a lyric video!” Ghost Cult Magazine
