TO THE GRAVE‘s objective has always been to create sonically and thematically heavy music, charged with a grim, confronting message. Featuring their entire self-released debut album Global Warning, plus seven new songs, Epilogue is a huge 19 tracks of intense brutality.

Vocalist Dane Evans comments: “Epilogue is a culmination and celebration of the all we’ve achieved and been through together. It features a remixed, remastered version of our complete 2019 record Global Warning with a bunch of good friends lending their voices, as well as 7 new songs that we created in 2020. These new songs are by far our most malevolent offerings to date and this release stands as a form of appreciation to our fans, friends and those who’ve supported us through hell and back. Epilogue may be the final chapter to Global Warning but rest assured, this is just the beginning.”

On signing to Unique Leader Records, Dane continues: “We couldn’t be more stoked to announce our new record Epilogue and signing with Unique Leader Records. This changes the game for us and lifts us to new heights. We’re going full speed into the year with an amazing team behind us and are pleased to show you the first single ‘[•REC]’ from Epilogue‘”.

After releasing the No Lives Matter extended play and touring Australia relentlessly with the likes of Alpha Wolf, Justice For The Damned and Gravemind, TO THE GRAVE put themselves firmly on the global metal map in 2019 with Global Warning. Closing 2019 as main support for Vulvodynia on their Australian run and opening a show for Cattle Decapitation  elevated them further, earning them sold out headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

WEREWOLVES Release Music Video ‘Mission Statement’

Less than a month since the release of their sophomore album, What A Time To Be Alive, WEREWOLVES have today released a new music video for Mission Statement. Produced by Rage Cr:eative, the visual darts back and forth with lycanthrope imagery that is equal parts B-movie horror homage and apt video conceptualisation of WEREWOLVES‘ uniquely savage approach to death metal.

Stream Mission Statement on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

What A Time To Be Alive is out now via Prosthetic Records.

Speaking on Mission Statement, the band comments: “Mission Statement gives the finger to peace, sanity, fans, and contains both a hate-chant and a haiku about how much metal sucks. We are pleased with this video however, and hope that it brings you as much joy as it did us. Buy our album.”

On What A Time To Be Alive, the Australian death metal trio, featuring Dave Haley (Psycroptic, Ruins, King), Matt Wilcock, and Sam Bean (both of The Berzerker, The Antichrist Imperium), make plenty good on their threat to leave uninhabitable salted earth in the extreme metal scene and then some.

MARIANAS REST To Release Second Single & Video “South Of Vostok”

Hailing from the Finnish coastal town of Kotka, melodic death/doom metal strikers MARIANAS REST will release their third grand studio album, Fata Morgana, on March 12 via Napalm Records, impressively showcasing their dedication to merging heavy riffs, hypnotizing soundscapes and impetuous tempo-changes into a heartfelt force once more.

After unveiling their first sophisticated offering, “Glow From The Edge”, the Finns now set free their next hauntingly melancholic output, “South Of Vostok”: Fata Morgana‘s final epos starts off with Finnish wording that underlines the origin of the six-piece. With feral yet sensitive vocals as well as a harmonizing instrumental performance, MARIANAS REST skillfully create a cohesive symbiosis of sound that allows every note to unfold its captivating power in the most appropriate way. The song’s name comes from a place in Antarctica and a Russian research station named Vostok located there – one of the coldest and most hostile places towards life in the whole world, if not the coldest of all.

The record’s open ending goes along with the narrator’s physical and mental journey. Will he just give up, or will he hold onto some spark of hope, looking towards the horizon to start a new chapter? It’s up to every listener to decide in the end.

MARIANAS REST on the new single:
“’South of Vostok’ is the end of a story. A cathartic pondering on the edge of the world where frost turns to fire.” – Jaakko, vocals

“It is a mix of hope and desperation. A journey through ugliness towards something more beautiful.” – Nico M., guitar

Watch the official video for “South Of Vostok” HERE:

Fata Morgana marks the final chapter of a trilogy that began when MARIANAS REST released their first full-length, 2016’s Horror Vacui, followed by the critically acclaimed full-length Ruins (2019). The series encompasses themes of isolation, eventual mental collapse and emergence from that woeful state, respectively – however, the band invites fans to experience the concept from their own perspectives.

The upcoming eight-song epos delivers atmospheric melodies that are as endless and fascinating as the overwhelming beauty of Finnish nature, which tracks like the expressive “The Weight” and authentic “Pointless Tale” are evidence of. Topped by guest appearances from Timo Virkkala, who shares his awesome cello magic, and the bewitching backing vocals of Lindsay Matheson/Schoolcraft (ex-CRADLE OF FILTH), MARIANAS REST take their creative output to the next level and make Fata Morgana a must-have for fans of bands like INSOMNIUM and MY DYING BRIDE.

MARIANAS REST on Fata Morgana:
“Fata Morgana is a voyage into isolation. A passage to a place where minds get distorted by the cold.”

Pre-Order your copy of Fata Morgana NOW!

This melodic melancholy is produced by Teemu Aalto (INSOMNIUM, OMNIUM GATHERUM) and MARIANAS REST, recorded and mixed by Teemu Aalto at Teemu Aalto Music Productions and mastered by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers, who received a Grammy nomination with CANDLEMASS feat. Tony Iommi for Best Metal Performance.

1. Sacrificial
2. Glow From the Edge
3. Pointless Tale
4. The Weight
5. Horrokseen
6. Fata Morgana
7. Advent of Nihilism
8. South of Vostok

As a special bonus, MARIANAS REST will release a limited edition reissue of their aforementioned second studio album, Ruins, on vinyl for the first time ever on March 12, 2021 via Napalm Records. Unleashed back in April 2019, the Finns’ full-length tells the story of how a mind slowly crumbles, about introversion, putting up mental walls and eventually disappearing inside your own head.
