With the release of their single “Georgiana”, the Tennessee quartet NAKED GYPSY QUEENS stake their claim as the new heavyweights of rock & roll’s modern-day renaissance. Rooted in amplified blues, hard-charging grooves, and dual lead guitars, the band builds upon the larger-than-life sound of their heroes from the 1960s and ’70s, keeping the flame burning for old-school hard rock while using their own 21st century fuel. Having just been signed to Mascot Records, the band’s forthcoming EP is slated for release in late 2021.

Formed while all four members were still in high school, Naked Gypsy Queens built their audience the blue-collar way: by plugging in, turning up, and playing out. They cut their teeth on the classics — the Rolling Stones, MC5, the Allman Brothers, and Pink Floyd — and funneled those influences into their own songs, creating an original sound that was loud, aggressive, and filled with supersized hooks. After developing a loyal following in their hometown of Franklin, TN, they set their sights on Nashville, quickly becoming one of the city’s premiere rock acts before any of the bandmates had turned 20 years old.

“Our goal was to become the baddest live band around,” says frontman Chris Attigliato, who shares guitar duties with Cade Pickering. “We were loud. We were a band you had to see onstage. It started to become a cult thing, with lines forming around the block at some venues. We weren’t trying to achieve the highest number of digital streams; we were just doing what we wanted to do, and making the music we wanted to make. As it turned out, we were pushing some buttons, too.”

Showcasing the chemistry between Attigliato, Pickering, bassist Bo Howard, and drummer Landon Herring, “Georgiana“ was recorded in Detroit with studio veterans Marlon Young, Al Sutton, and Herschel Boone – the same team that helmed Greta Van Fleet’s chart-topping Anthem of the Peaceful Army. Legends like Alice Cooper and MC5’s Wayne Kramer stopped by the studio throughout the tracking process, strengthening the bond between Naked Gypsy Queens and the rock icons who came before them.

“We’ve got an older sound, mixed with something new,” says Howard, who remembers stumbling across Attigliato and Herring in the basement of the boys’ Tennessee high school, bashing their way through Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” with beyond-their-years skill. “From the first time I met these guys, I knew I had to play with them. I knew we could make music that drew in other people our age, while still appealing to those who grew up with this kind of music.”

“I was already a fan of the Naked Gypsy Queens when I saw them play in Nashville last February,” adds Mascot Label Group US President Ron Burman. “However, after seeing them play live, all I can say is WOW! Their unbridled, raw, youthful energy blew me away and confirmed the fact that we had to sign them! They embody all of the attributes that define Rock & Roll.  We expect huge things from them in the future!”

With a sound that reaches across generations, Naked Gypsy Queens bridge the divide between the genre’s past and future, creating timeless rock & roll for the modern world. Led not only by Chris’ soulful howl, but also the sonic punch of a taught rhythm section and the interlocked riffs of two lead guitarists, Naked Gypsy Queens are royalty in the making.

Italian hard rockers CORPORAIN will release their “Purge//Purity” album on February 26th, via Volcano Records.

CORPORAIN – formed in San Miniato in November 2013 – are driven by the desire to transform the hopes, dreams and fears of four young people in their twenties with very different musical experiences and tastes into music. From the very beginning there is no denying a Heavy metal imprint, units with more heterogeneous sounds from the world of rock and pop, this is reflected in the compositional style and in the choice of having three solo singers. Over the years, the band has carried on an intense live activity playing both in the most important Tuscan underground clubs and in various festivals, including the Beat Festival where the band participates in the first three editions. Over the years the band has released a demo and an EP both self-produced and self-distributed. Following a line up change that sees a change to the drums, the group last recorded the album Purge // Purity (read Purge the Purity) in the first half of 2020.

“Purge//Purity” tracklist:

  1. Millenium
  2. Inception
  3. The Purge
  4. Apocalypse
  5. Hollow
  6. Pitch Black
  7. Never forget
  8. Rage
  9. Whispering the wind
    Running Time: 52’44”

EYEHATEGOD Release New Song ‘Circle Of Nerves’

EYEHATEGOD, whose highly-anticipated new album, A History of Nomadic Behavior, arrives on March 12, have revealed a final preview of the 12-song album, releasing the song “Circle of Nerves”. Check it out HERE!

“’Circle of Nerves’ is the last single before the release of our new album, A History of Nomadic Behavior,” explains Eyehategod singer Mike IX Williams. “This track is a prime example of the lowest form of abstract crossover trash to crawl out of the methadone clinic basement. We can’t wait to play these songs live in filthy venues, where the real noise comes to life.”

The single’s arrival follows news of the New Orleanian band’s celebratory listening party for what is their first album in seven years. The March 11 online event is hosted by Revolver and Full Metal Jackie and features a live Q&A and track-by-track discussion. It can be watched via Revolver’s YouTube channel at 1 pm pacific/4 pm eastern.

“I’m a huge fan– these guys helped pioneer NOLA sludge and have inspired countless artists.” Said Full Metal Jackie as the special livestream was announced. “Dangerous music for dangerous people! They sound lean & mean as ever!!

Eyehategod has shared a series of pre-release singles, with the most recent, “Built Beneath The Lies”, deemed an “acidic, sludgy affair from the Southern lords of Riff” by Metal Injection and Consequence of Sound saying “the NOLA vets have offered another catchy slice of grooving sludge metal.” The four-piece have also streamed the “bulldozing” (Revolver) track “ Fake What’s Yours” and the prescient “banger” (Stereogum) “High Risk Trigger”. Early coverage of the album points to a worthy return for the storied sludge outfit, with The Pit saying A History of Nomadic Behavior “keeps up their incredible legacy” and Exclaim noting the release “offers all of the moody, distorted aggression that we’ve come to expect from the band.”

The album’s arrivalfollows a period that saw the New Orleans based band on the road for three years, preceded by Williams suffering liver failure and a transplant. “We toured our asses off for three years and that’s where A History of Nomadic Behavior basically comes from,” adds Williams before touching on his health challenge: “Death is a part of life, it’s a roll of the dice. Sometimes you take life as it comes, other times you fight to stay alive.” The album was produced by Eyehategod, Sanford Parker (Yob, Voivod) and James Whitten (Thou, High on Fire), with mixing by Whitten. The band recorded at HighTower Recording and Hypercube studios.

The album is available in various formats and can be pre – ordered HERE!

Danish metalcore 4- piece GHOST IRIS have released their new single ‘desert dread’ along with a music video. It’s the second single off their new album Comatose (out May 7th via Long Branch Records) and features Chimaira‘s Mark Hunter on guest vocals!

Say Ghost Iris about the new single ‘desert dread’:
“Choice is something we can all agree on, in most instances, should be granted to anyone. Or is it? Having the ability to choose sometimes leads to undesirable outcomes. It’s a song that delves into the topic of antinatalism and the choices thereof. Undesirable outcomes that have severe consequences. Choice is desert of dread, one where we must choose wisely.”

Pre-Order the album Comatose and listen to Ghost Iris‘ new single, ‘desert dread’, feat. Mark Hunter of Chimaira, HERE!

Ever since the release of their critically acclaimed album, Apple of Discord, the band took the heavy music scene by storm with relentless touring throughout Europe, UK and Japan – touring with the likes of Dream Theater, Jinjer, After The Burial and Soen, and playing renowned festivals such as Copenhell, Rockstadt Extreme Fest or Euroblast. Winning over new fans every night with their intense and energetic performance, audiences around the world instantly hunger for the band’s return.

Gearing up for the release of their awaited 4th full length album, Comatose, Ghost Iris are building upon the sound explored on their previous album. Pulverizing instrumentals, bleak lyrics, catchy and hard-htting – Comatose is no exception to these descriptors, being their most visceral material yet. Comatose will be out worldwide on May 7th, 2021 through Long Branch Records.

ERDVE are proud to announce the live stream of a very special live performance that took placve at Lukiškės Prison in Vilnius, Lithuania in September 2020. The stream will launch on February 27, 2021 12:00 P.M. EST. Tickets are available HERE

ERDVE comments on the stream: “Our goal was to enhance the eerie atmosphere of the prison architecture with our musical performance, yet you could still feel the smell and the surrounding energy from the recent prison life. We are happy to be able to share this documented footage shot by NO BRAKE productions, providing an intimate look from multiple points of view. Having such an event during a calmer period of the pandemic was a challenge that could’ve left us with nothing, but we have managed to do this before any harsh restrictions were reinstated. Since this show had a very limited capacity due to the Covid regulations, we made sure to capture this experience in a professional manner and provide an opportunity to those who didn’t have a chance to attend the event or would like to revisit it at home.“

About the event:
This show is probably the last chance for anyone to see the inside of the prison and how it looked like since it was built in 1905. Lukiškės Prison is inactive since 2019 and is now closed for renovation. The stage is set up in a round 4-level hall which is a main part of a 1st prison block that used to serve as a death row for prisoners a while ago. After the death penalty became prohibited in 1998, the 1st prison block was only for prisoners serving a life-sentence right until 2019 relocation of inmates to another prison.

ERDVE‘s are playing in support of their debut album ‘Vaitojimas,’ which is streaming in full HERE. ERDVE will be releasing a brand new album in the Summer of 2021. More info about the new offering will soon be available.
