See and hear a very different side of WITHERFALL by checking out the video clip for the highly emotional “The River”. After their homages to throwback horror with “As I Lie Awake” and “The Other Side Of Fear” the brand new video for “The River” finally shows a full band performance. The video was directed by Bradford Lloyd Cooper for Combobulated Arts Incorporated and can be viewed here:

The video and song have a very special and personal meaning: “’The River’ is a song about singer Joseph Michael’s deceased father. It refers to the family fishing spot up near Thousand Islands by the Canadian border of New York State. During the recording tears were shed… Hopefully this song honors JM’s father appropriately. RIP Kenneth Martin Furney.”

“The River” is the 5th single taken from “Curse Of Autumn”, the upcoming album from WITHERFALL that is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 5th, 2021 with the US vinyl being available April 2nd, 2021.

HARDCORE SUPERSTAR Sign With Golden Robot Records, New Album Coming 2021

Sweden’s Party Boys, the self-coined ‘street metallers’ HARDCORE SUPERSTAR have signed a deal with global juggernauts Golden Robot Records (for Australia, New Zealand, South American, USA and Canada).

Paying little attention to the extreme death metal sounds of their hometown was renowned for, the four natives of Gothenburg, Sweden who formed Hardcore Superstar in 1998 drew upon melodic, glammed-up hard rock, especially the sleazy L.A. pop-metal sound of the ’80s.

Vocalist Jocke Berg, guitarist Silver Silver, bassist Martin Sandvik, and drummer Magnus Andreasson recorded an album titled It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll and released via Gain Records in 1998, attracting praise from Motorhead’s Lemmy.

After opening for Motorhead on a Scandinavian tour, Hardcore Superstar signed Music for Nations and recorded their sophomore effort, Bad Sneakers and a Pina Colada, in 1999. They scored three Swedish Top Ten singles from the record and built up their audience through constant gigging.

The punchy but laid-back Thank You (For Letting Us Be Ourselves) arrived in 2001, followed by No Regrets in 2003, the latter of which spawned the hit single ‘Honey Tongue.’ It would be their last outing for Music For Nations, having re-signed with Gain for the release of their eponymous fifth studio long-player in 2005. The album was widely praised and earned the group a Swedish Grammis nomination.

Released in 2007, Dreamin’ in a Casket would be the last outing for guitarist Thomas Silver, who left the group in 2008. Crazy Lixx’s Vic Zino would eventually replace him, and make his studio debut with the band on 2009’s Beg for It. which was released via Nuclear Blast.

Split Your Lip arrived the following year, with the band’s first-ever compilation LP The Party Ain’t Over ‘Til We Say So, dropping in 2011. The singles ‘One More Minute’ and ‘Above The Law’ heralded the release of the group’s ninth full-length, 2013’s C’mon Take on Me, while 2015’s HCSS would be the first Hardcore Superstar outing to a feature a guest performer (Swedish reggae singer Etzia).

In late 2017 the band issued the single ‘Have Mercy on Me’ in anticipation of the release of their 11th album, You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N’ Roll which was well received in 2018.

Hardcore Superstar and Golden Robot Records have now joined forces for a brand-new album in 2021.

‘’I Have been chasing Hardcore Superstar for years and to finally have them signed for a brand-new Album in 2021 we are all over the moon. A fantastic band with a great history and we are honoured to be involved.’’ – Mark Alexander-Erber President & Founder | Golden Robot Global Entertainment

Look forward to more classic tracks along the lines of all time faves like ‘Wild Boys’, ‘You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘n Roll’, ‘Last Call For Alcohol’, ‘Bring The House Down’, ‘Above The Law’ and ‘Someone Special’.

Golden Robot Records offer a long term personalised artistic experience in an unapologetically demanding and passionate industry. Golden Robot Records are renegades. A company that has voluminous folds of music business scar tissue, these are wounds from the industry frontline.

Polish SUNNATA Release Hypnotic New Single ‘Black Serpent’

Polish wilderness prophets SUNNATA (sanskr. noun emptiness, voidness), a four-piece shamanic doom metal band, have released their new single ‘Black Serpent’, taken from forthcoming full-length album Burning In Heaven, Melting On Earth which is released on 26th February.

Listen to ‘Black Serpent’ here:

Add to your Spotify playlists here:  https://spoti.fi/3aV1LsL
Pre-order Burning In Heaven, Melting On Earth here: https://linktr.ee/sunnata

SUNNATA comments: “‘Black Serpent’ is very different from our previous single ‘Crows’. Heavily inspired by repetitive, neurotic, a bit kraut-like rhythms and church-like harmonised vocals it hits you suddenly with full spectrum doom riffage just to take you on a shamanic ayahuasca interdimensional trip shortly after. All of this to create a background for yet another story of religious fanaticism.”

A ritualistic, meditatively uplifting, doom soundscape, Burning In Heaven, Melting On Earth is a sensuous, ever-mutating musical experience. SUNNATA produce a pulsating mystic dirge which shimmers with odd beauty and uplifting melodies. The result is an atmosphere of sacred submission immersed in huge dynamics for the duration of the album’s 46-minute expanse.

Tracklisting
1: Crows
2: God Emperor of Dune
3: A Million Lives
4: Black Serpent
5: Völva (The Seeress)
6: Way Out

SUNNATA have been paving their own way to higher metal skies since their 2014 debut Climbing The Colossus. Their spellbinding sophomore album Zorya (2016) made the band gather even more momentum with regard to the European alternative heavy scene. Third album Outlands (2018) brilliantly brought out even more ritual in the heavy, confidently crossing the frontier of progressive doom to land in even more melancholic and mind-expanding alleys.

Returning in 2021 with Burning In Heaven, Melting On Earth, SUNNATA are at their most transcendent, melding together all the heaviness, intensity and tenderness into a graceful, cross-pollinating form to create something incredible that demands attention and respect. From here SUNNATA are free to roam wherever.

Finnish modern melodic metallers EVERTURE are set to release their debut album Emerge on March 19th 2021 via Inverse Records. The band has released their fourth single Closure, watch the video below.

Guitarist Matti Hautakangas comments:
“Closure is an instant boost to the listeners day. Be it shining or raining, you’d want to hear it from the radio. The upbeat rhythm makes the song perfect for a party or an exercise. Having it’s breathers and full blasting parts, Closure is a one a listener can give their one hundred percent! And that is also what the people did who participated in making the music video of Closure. A big thanks!

The lyrics tell an aftermath where so much has been experienced and you need some kind of closure. This makes the song a perfect fit for the closing song of the Emerge album. It’s the understanding of things in the end of all that has happened. It’s about the fact that from the chaos we undergo, beautiful things are born but nothing will ever be perfect. And eventually all things must end and still you can be okay with that.”
