GRETA VAN FLEET Announce Radiant New Single “Heat Above”

Hot on the heels of their fifth #1 at rock radio, GRAMMY®-winning band GRETA VAN FLEET today announce a luminous new single, “Heat Above.” It is the third track released from their forthcoming sophomore studio album, The Battle at Garden’s Gate, produced by Greg Kurstin (Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Adele) and due out April 16 (Lava/Republic Records).  “Heat Above” is an ethereal track that opens with a Hammond B3 seeping in slowly to set the tone for a triumphant sonic build. You can listen to the song HERE,

“There’s plenty of love left in this world, even though it may not seem like it,” said Sam Kiszka, bass/keys for Greta Van Fleet.  “And that’s what ‘Heat Above’ is about, rising to the stars together.”

The band first debuted the song with Zane Lowe on “The Zane Lowe Show” via Apple Music 1 in an interview where they discussed what it was like to work with a new producer, the personal growth they’ve seen over the last three years, and where in the world they’ve been in the extended downtime away from touring. In addition, they are the featured artist on New Music Daily on Apple Music today.

Greta Van Fleet’s new album, The Battle at Garden’s Gate, is a reflection of their journey into the present. With string orchestras, explorative songs, and the band building a visual story with every track, it has an elevated elegance unseen yet from the young band. It explores the boundaries of the group’s artistry, with physical copies of the record featuring a stunning 16-page booklet full of mythical, transcendent visuals and metaphysical symbols for each track.

In three years, Greta Van Fleet (Josh Kiszka/vocals, Jake Kiszka/guitars, Sam Kiszka/bass & keys/Danny Wagner/drums) went from touring the grimy rock bars of Detroit and Saginaw to headlining shows on five continents with audiences triple their hometown’s population. The band that once attracted crowds of teens to improvised forest concerts, have now sold over one million tickets worldwide.

The twelve songs and symbols on The Battle at Garden’s Gate were revealed this week and  touch upon themes of freedom, self-empowerment, power in community, and respect for Mother Earth.

Complete track-listing:
1.  Heat Above
2.  My Way, Soon
3.  Broken Bells
4.  Built by Nations
5.  Age of Machine
6.  Tears of Rain
7.  Stardust Chords
8.  Light My Love
9.  Caravel
10. The Barbarians
11. Trip the Light Fantastic
12.  The Weight of Dreams

“Like ourselves, Alexi was beyond stoked about these songs and anxious to get these out so we are happy that we can fulfill his wish. Needless to say that we are  honored and proud to be a part of his very last creative work and unleash it the way he wanted it to. It’s time to let the beast out of the cage one more time as a celebration of Alexi’s music, legacy and the man himself.” – BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT

In 2020, the news was flooded: Led by the extremely talented Alexi Laiho, newly formed supergroup BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT was about to become the striking successor to legendary metal band CHILDREN OF BODOM. Their sonic plans were massive – including an EP release in the spring followed by a full-length album later in the year.

The EP, Paint The Sky With Blood (out April 23 via Napalm Records), was recorded in Finland back in 2020 and was meant to be the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Sadly, that chapter ended far too soon, and now, the three-track piece embodies a whole new meaning. Paint The Sky With Blood is an overwhelming tribute to an outstanding artist and an exceptional sonic heritage – matchless late guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho – and at the same time, a modern homage to the genre itself.

Paint The Sky With Blood Tracklisting:
01. Paint The Sky With Blood
02. Payback’s A Bitch
03. Where Dead Angels Lie (Dissection Cover)

Pre-order the album at:
Napalm Records – Levykauppa Äx

Cover artwork by: Travis Smith

A storm of raging guitars and blaring drums merge with Alexi Laiho’s versatile vocal power, leading into a heavy attack – title track “Paint The Sky With Blood” – opening the 14 minute EP of the same name. The track is strikingly reminiscent of early-CHILDREN OF BODOM elements, while also adding exciting modern influences into the fold. Second stunner “Payback’s A Bitch” and its massive riffing are on a quest for retribution, delivering a hard-hitting, second to none offense. The interplay of Alexi Laiho, guitarist Daniel Freyberg, drummer Waltteri Väyrynen (Paradise Lost), bassist Mitja Toivonen (ex-Santa Cruz) and live keyboardist Vili Itäpelto is not only a testament to the band’s extraordinary musical ability, but also showcases their skill in deftly incorporating a variety of genre influences.

Closing cover track “Where Dead Angels Lie” is an absolute triumph – originally performed by Swedish extreme metal formation Dissection, the track shines as a timeless classic with a new edge. Eerie riffs and vocals alternating between menacing murmurs and characteristic guttural, distorted vocals stay faithful to the original while branding this version with an undeniable BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT punch.

Italian DEADLOCK CREW have signed with Ghost Records, for the release of the new album “Look down on me”. The release is scheduled for Saturday the 27th of February.

Album was recorded, mixed and mastered in september-december 2020 by singer/guitarist Lorenzo and the Zero Point Energy Recording Studio New York City by Lorenzo Gavinelli. The songs were thought, written and made in the darkest period that rock music can remember: COVID-19 pandemic months. These months gave to Deadlock Crew time and strength to conceived “Look down on me”, it was developed like a shout, with its rhythm and power riffs to break the agonizing silent in which music world is fallen.

With this album the band wants to broadcast its energy and enthusiasm, this is the core of the band. Tracks are the result of a fusion of different musical genres: alternative metal, thrash metal e hard rock. Lyrics are about personal experiences, inner strifes, emotions, fears, a point of view about social networks, side effects caused by internet abuse, tainted loves, thoughts in an agonist’s mind and the precarious social balance we are living in. Summarising: pump up the volume.

Look down on me

  1. Comfort zone
  2. They’re coming
  3. 8 kHz
  4. No more
  5. Among us
  6. Look down on me
  7. Waza ari
  8. Close to the end
  9. Through hate

More about DEADLOCK CREW:
A solid metal band who kept in time the same line up, energy and enthusiasm for hard music. Lorenzo and Giuliano, singer/guitarist and drummer, with their experience grown in many local music bands found a perfect feeling with Yure (guitar) and Daniele (bass guitar). The project is to mash up the different musical genres that influence their own music since the begining as thrash metal, alternative metal and hard rock. Immediately after the set up of the band, they published a promo-cd called “Lobotomized people” that got a lot of positive reviews on the magazines of the time and pushed the band to remain active on the territory with many gigs, events, festivals and moto rallies. Live performances, made of “enthusiasm, watts and sweat”, soon became the addiction of the band that left out recording and studios. The COVID-19’s year forced the four guys to change course and to dedicate themselves developing and recording new material for the 2021 album: “Look down on me” Tracks are recorded in Trieste and mixed in New york City Zero Point Energy Recording Studio by Lorenzo Gavinelli. Production is made by Lorenzo, the singer, and Lorenzo Gavienlli. This work led finally the band to sign a contract with Ghost Label Records! Deadlock Crew are very proud to announce the relase of “Look down on me” on 27th Febraury 2021.

SIRENIA Present New Cover Single “Voyage Voyage”

French-Norwegian symphonic metal institution SIRENIA will unveil their tenth studio album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, this Friday, February 12 via Napalm Records. The 11-track album skilfully portrays the band’s multifaceted nature and offers a versatile symphonic metal vortex through splicing heavy sounds with modern influences.

After releasing catchy first single “Addiction No. 1” in late 2020, followed by smashing “We Come To Ruins” shortly after, the four-piece around mastermind, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer Morten Veland now offers another surprise and presents the third single, “Voyage Voyage“, a cover of Desireless‘ 1986 hit. With this bonus track on Riddles, Ruins & Revelations,  SIRENIA once again successfully combine symphonic soundscapes with electronic vibes, showcasing a whole new facet of their ability while staying true to their roots at the same time. Presented in her mother tongue, the lyrics fit perfectly for France-based singer Emmanuelle Zoldan.

Mastermind Morten Veland on choosing “Voyage Voyage” for the album:
“As our new album is influenced by the eighties to some extent, we thought it would be fitting to do a cover version from this era, and include it as a bonus track on the album. ‘Voyage Voyage’ by the artist Desireless is one of my favourite songs from this decade and it was a very interesting song to cover. In terms of covers, I love to find songs from a completely different genre and then put SIRENIA‘s touch and sound to it. It never made any sense to me to do a cover version of a different rock or metal band, as the versions would end up too similar anyway.”

Join SIRENIA and dive into some ‘80s vibes with “Voyage Voyage” HERE:

On Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, SIRENIA remain as true to their album title word-play as they do to their dedication to symphonic soundscapes, drawing the listener into a pounding narrative about the darkest aspects of life. All eleven songs accumulate step by step to an integral sound artwork, where the versatile mezzo soprano voice of singer Emmanuelle Zoldan always shines in high-profile. In addition, there are many enchanting, instrumental surprises lurking on the way that absolutely need to be discovered: With the opening “Addiction No. 1” the formation delivers an immense and catchy tune that will have fans of bands like Beyond The Black and Amaranthe falling in love immediately. “We Come To Ruins” is directed at all the headbangers out there and offers a contrast of harshness. With “Downwards Spiral”, Emmanuelle is supported by the remarkable voice of long-time friend Joakim Næss on clean vocals, who has joined the band on previous releases.

Most parts of Riddles, Ruins & Revelations were recorded at Audio Avenue Studios in Stavanger, Norway, and mixed and mastered entirely by Morten Veland himself.

Morten Veland states:
“Riddles, Ruins & Revelations is SIRENIA’s tenth studio album. The album is very diverse, as a SIRENIA album should be. There’s a lot of material that shows the band from a new side, and there is lots of material that is to be expected from the band musically. All in all, the album will take the listeners through a journey that will cover both familiar and unexplored musical landscapes. We hope that you will enjoy the journey.”

MIKE TRAMP Enters Danish Eurovision Song Contest With “Everything Is Alright”

Internationally recognised solo artist and songwriter MIKE TRAMP presents his brand new single “Everything Is Alright” – an honest number written directly from the heart – and is pleased to announce that returning home from his own Odyssey he will take part in the competition to find the Danish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Having won the Danish Song contest in 1978 with Mabel and represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest later that same year Mike will return just over four decades later on the same stage and in the context that kick-started his career with his message for Denmark and all countries of Europe in these dark times. After all the years and a lifetime of experience, it feels right to be back.

“In 2021, I can be 100% true to myself and not have to put on any mask – I am who I am. All 8 songs are there to win, but the moment you deliver and sing a song without compromising on yourself, only in that moment can you leave the stage as a winner – no matter what the jury thinks.” – Mike Tramp

Songs and lyrics continue to pour out of Mike under lockdown and the release of this brand new previously unreleased track continues the tradition of two decades of heartfelt and personal work which also reaches out and connects on a human level with others. These troubled times have caused everyone to look both at the world and inwards to assess where we have come to and who we are.

“As far back as I remember, my focus have always been to be the best me, and not a bad copy of someone else. With each song I write, each album I record and the many shows I play. I come closer and closer to that goal, and today I feel I can honestly say, I have arrived. “Everything Is Alright” confirms that in every way.” – Mike Tramp

Following in the footsteps of artists like Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Tom Petty Mike deeply cares about the message of his songs and allowing his true voice to be heard. An acoustic folk rock troubadour Mike is unafraid to tackle the difficult subjects in life including loss, betrayal, death, family difficulties and responsibilities and relationship problems. Recognising the importance of the human condition and, that he has, himself, learned more through suffering that joy, Mike creates albums and songs that explore human emotions and life situations and seeks to make sense of man’s existence with old fashioned values refusing to be seduced or suffocated by superficial considerations. With the recent troubles caused by the Pandemic which has affected so many on a global scale causing humans to look both at the world and at themselves with a critical eye and to appreciate the real things that matter, no time more like the present has been more suited to appreciate Mike’s work which has always questioned the world and personal existence and sought to make the world a better place.

Mike Tramp shot to worldwide fame in the 80s as the singer of White Lion one of the only bands to tackle important issues in songs like “When The Children Cry” and “Little Fighter” (about the Greenpeace ship the Rainbow Warrior.)

The “Everything is Alright” single will be released on the 10th of February on Target. The single heralds the issue of a new best of compilation album of the same name which will follow on the 21st of May 2021.
