Symphonic Black Metal Lords WELICORUSS Drummer Ilya Tabachnik has posted on his Youtube Channel a cool drum cover for DREAM THEATER‘s “Beyond This Life“, watch it here:

Ilya stated:
“My new Drum cover for the band which started my drumming career. I want to dedicate it and thank to Jiři Kanajlo who was my first drum teacher and showed me this band!
And thank you to Tomáš Sršeň for shooting the video! Unfortunately DT don’t play or recorded with metronome this times and it was sometimes hard to adapt but i still hope many of you might like it :)”

January 11th, Symphonic black metallers WELICORUSS premiered their “Welicoruss – 15 years of Madness” documentary. The documentary is available in Russian, English, German and Czech subtitles.

Watch the documentary here:

The band stated about the documentary:
“We have been waiting for this moment, our long-awaiting documentary (or as we used to call it “DVD” in broadcastings, although this medium has lost its relevance) is out now, dedicated to our 15th anniversary and it’s called “15 years of madness” in 4 languages (Russian, English, German and Czech)!
Thiss quite voluminous work, including footage taken from the very begining of Welicoruss and first concerts in Russia, opinions of musicians playing in Welicoruss at different times, colleagues of metal scene, business guys, fans, backstage footage and much more! This documentary, we think, is interesting not only for Welicoruss’ fans, but also for heavy music lovers who want to learn more about metal scene in Russia (Siberia), to follow Alexey’s complicated path from distant Siberia to Prague and to know what is behind bands music and conception. We have been waiting for that moment for a long time, we hope you too!”

🙏Support the band’s crowdfunding capaign which is going to the end very soon: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/welicoruss-making-two-new-videos–2#/”

Mario Dane, who worked extensively on the new music, added the following:
“We’re all very happy about this brand new ‘Babalon’ song. It’s the result of a great labor, a great restraint, and a lot of great people dreaming. ANDREW W.K. has always been focused on making dream feelings come true, and this feels like a high point in that ongoing effort. There’s a lot of great energy and enthusiasm, and it’s only just begun…”

ANDREW W.K. got its start in southeastern Michigan, before moving to New York City and officially launching in 1999. Now, entering the new decade having already conquered the worlds of music, television, radio, and motivational speaking (even receiving the American Association of Suicidology’s “Person” of the Year Award in 2018), the inimitable God of Partying is more determined than ever to reach euphoric levels of positive perfection. Having released five larger-than-life albums, including the revered chart-topping full-length debut, I Get Wet (2001), ANDREW W.K.  is hard at work (for two years and counting) on crafting a brand new album of brand new music, guaranteed to pressurize the power of partying into diamond levels of hardness.

Season of Mist is pleased to announce the signing of Icelandic Tech Death outfit OPHIDIAN I. The band, which features members of HELFRÓ, will release their brand new album ‘Desolate’ via Season of Mist in the summer of 2021!

OPHIDIAN I comments on the signing: “We are ecstatic to announce that we’ve partnered with Season of Mist for the release of our album ‘Desolate’ in 2021. The new album is a product of relentless dedication and we could not imagine a more fitting home than with the incredible team at Season of Mist. Through the years we have been inspired by many artists from their roster and now we humbly take our place amongst them.“

Season of Mist CEO Michael Berberian comments on the signing:
“It all started by a mail from an old partner in crime, known to many in the industry; Ula Gehret. I quote : ‘Am I nuts, or is this really good?’ Two emails later: ‘I’ve really fallen for this album’ (it’s my new ‘Unquestionable Presence’) And my god, was he right. It’s my most played album of the last two months. There is something extra to this one, in my mind there is no doubt that this is a future classic. So a few weeks later, we signed the band, and he’s managing them. Two music industry veterans falling for an album like we were teens. We, at SOM were lucky to release with ARCHSPIRE and BEYOND CREATION the two cornerstones of the last decade in the “Tech Death” world. Here is the first one of 2021.”

For a glimpse of things to come and updates, check out the band’s official Bandcamp or give them a follow on Facebook.

With a clear goal of reaching the apex of technical metal in terms of proficiency, arrangements and sound, OPHIDIAN I has  produced the destructive full-length album ‘Desolate’.

Emerging from Iceland; the barren island in the north, home to apocalyptic weather, eruptions and storms. The breeding intensity,  blazing speed and ferocity of OPHIDIAN I reflects the chaos it hails from as well as the inherent beauty and complex harmony.

With various influences ranging from all styles, the unique melt of technical death metal – with immersive melody and hooks at every corner – ‘Desolate’ will appeal to all those who seek peak militant musicianship on all fronts.

With their epic 2018- debut, “Rising Sons Of Saturn”, French doom metal collective CARCOLH burst into the heavy music world like a steamroller, shaking stages with their monolithic sound of heavy slowness, traditional doom and blackened metal. Featuring former members of bands alike Sweven, Pozor, Sun Preacher, Dead Toys or Bruit, CARCOLH may not be strangers to the scene, but with their upcoming album they will most likely step out from being one of Europe’s best kept doom secrets. In only two weeks, on February 19th 2021, “The Life And Works Of Death” will be coming out on Sleeping Church Records.

Just recently, the Bordeaux / Saint-Nazaire- based band shared a first single to the doom epos “Works of Death” ( listen HERE! ), today CARCOLH has unleashed another apocalyptic track from their upcoming and sophomore album! Listen to “The Blind Goddess” right here:

Says the band: “The Blind Goddess is a doom hymn of the apocalypse, death is here dispensed by the vengeful anger of an ancient goddess towards guilty humanity. Let there be doom!“

WEREWOLVES Release New Video ‘Sublime Wartime Voyeurism’, New Album Out Now

On January 29th, Australian death metal three-piece, WEREWOLVES released their second album, What A Time To Be Alive via Prosthetic Records. Accompanying the release day celebrations, the band also unleashed a music video for Sublime Wartime Voyeurism. What A Time To Be Alive follows their 2020 release, The Dead Are Screaming, and steps boldly deeper into the mix of black and death metal and showcases  WEREWOLVES at their most extreme.

Stream Sublime Wartime Voyeurism on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

What A Time To Be Alive is available to stream and purchase here.

Speaking on What A Time To Be Alive‘s release, the band comments: “Look at what you made us do. We could have released our debut and rode off into the sunset a year ago but there you all were, hashtagging each other, yelling at each other, sneezing on each other, you worthless sack of assholes. We simply cannot – WILL NOT – contain our loathing for everyone, and because dropping a bomb on all you pricks is against the law we’ve released What A Time To Be Alive instead. Buy our album and give us your money or we’ll kick in your front fucking door and play our music at you.”

The three piece, featuring Dave Haley (Psycroptic, Ruins, King), Matt Wilcock, and Sam Bean (both of The Berzerker, The Antichrist Imperium), makes plenty good on their threat to leave uninhabitable salted earth in the extreme metal scene with What A Time To Be Alive and then some.
