TEN YEARS AFTER To Release “A Sting In The Tale” (Deluxe Edition)

TEN YEARS AFTER are best known for their Platinum selling album “A Space in Time” which featured the Top 40 hit “I’d Love to Change the World”, and their prodigious performance appearance at the Woodstock Festival in upstate New York, August 1969. Their rendition of “I’m Going Home” was featured in both the subsequent film and soundtrack album and catapulted them to star status.

Original members Ric Lee and Chick Churchill have continued this legacy and are now rounded out by Guitarist/Vocalist Marcus Bonfanti and Bass Icon Colin Hodgkinson. “A Sting in the Tale” was engineered and produced by Bonfanti at his ‘Cricklewood Green’ Studios in Cricklewood, North London and mixed by acclaimed Canadian mix engineer Doug Organ in Edmonton Canada. The 4 bonus live tracks, including “I’d Love To Change The World” were recorded during a subsequent tour in Erfurt, Germany. As Drummer Ric Lee states, “The creative process of the studio album was a joy. Writing and recording together, being able to construct songs that reflect the personalities, memories and experiences of each of the members was extremely satisfying. We’re very happy that Deko suggested adding four ‘live’ bonus tracks to make this the DeLuxe Edition.

The title “A Sting In The Tale” reflects the same sentiment Ric & Chick wished to convey in the 2015 live album “The Name Remains The Same”. Through the new lineup the music continues to evolve and grow fifty years on. The sound of the band will always be heavily rooted in the way they paved the way during the late sixties and early seventies and will never forget its incredible heritage. This new record is the ‘Sting’ in the continuing Tale of Ten Years After. Deko Entertainment Bruce Pucciarello on Ten Years After joining the Deko family, “Their story is legend and working with these guys at DEKO has been a privilege. The album, classic organic contemporary, forward, it just rocks. You put it on…you can’t just listen once.”

The subject material on the album ranges from childhood memories of growing up in post war Britain, songs of love lost to the rock n roll lifestyle as well as sincere odes to a life well lived. They pay homage to the steam train drivers of the past and guitar heroes of the future as well as other interesting characters the band have encountered since they embarked on this journey over fifty years ago. Featuring tracks like “Land of Vandals”, “Suranne Suranne”, and “Up in Smoke” this album has critics raving.

“….is a showcase for their long-matured blues, rock and jazz blend, with tracks like Iron Horse, Up In Smoke and the engagingly mournful Stoned Alone full of seasoned virtuosity.”
CLASSIC ROCK

“….a healthy dose of tasty guitar licks, strong vocals, and plenty of groove. Bonfanti is a very capable player and vocalist…”Land of the Vandals” and “Iron Horse” kick off the album and provide a potent 1-2 punch, complete with hot licks and catchy hooks.”

Commenting on ‘Autumn Legacy Underlying the Cold’s Caress’ PERENNIAL ISOLATION state: “Crank up your volume and spread the Autumnal rituals! We want to share our deepest admiration for all the elements which are part of the border area between Autumn and Winter: the reddish tint of the forest paths, the masterful mists, the hidden sun and the fragrance of the cold. The perfect mix between brutality, poetry, aggressiveness and emotionality. It is an honor to present this first piece through Non Serviam Records from our new album ‘Portraits’”.

PERENNIAL ISOLATION moves on a perfect journey under its own vision of atmospheric black metal. Big doses of speed with deep and elegant guitars, accompanied by a poetic dance between long extreme screams, and cold and decadent soundscapes. The band has always been praised for its distinctive melodic lines without disparaging the brutality, aggressiveness, and lament of Mother Earth.

The pre-orders are available HERE: CD – Vinyl – digital Bandcamp

The track listening reads as follows:
1. The Fall Awakening.
2. Autumn Legacy Underlying the Cold’s Caress.
3. The Breathless Season Bane.
4. Unceasing Sorrows from The Vastness’ Scion.
5. To the Withering Womb.
6. Through Fire Upon Fire.
7. Embers in The Slumbering Threshold.
8. The Silent Solace.
9. Emanations from The Swallowed Twilight.

PERENNIAL ISOLATION were born in Barcelona in 2012 and some months later released their first EP “Uncertainty” which quickly caught the attention of the underground music scene. In the following years they released two full-length albums – “Conviction of Voidness” and “Astral Dream” – supported by several shows throughout the Iberian Peninsula and in Europe. In 2016 PERENNIAL ISOLATION – featuring two new guitar players – unleashed one of their most critically acclaimed records, “Epiphanies of the Orphaned Light”. After several European tours and festivals with well-known bands like Harakiri For The Sky, Enisum, Nocturnal Depression, Glorior Belli and Kampfar, the four-piece started to work on their new record  “Portraits” which will be released on March 26th 2021 via the Dutch label Non Serviam Records.

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal “Judgement” Music Video

Symphonic death metal juggernaut GENUS ORDINIS DEI have just released the sixth music video entitled “Judgement” from their critically acclaimed & highly praised concept album entitled Glare Of Deliverance. In this episode, the story of Eleanor continues with her imprisonment and trial at The Citadel. The Bishop sits on his throne and his One Eye will decide Eleanor’s fate… The stones shall reveal the truth to The Cross… White as grace, and black as sin. Will she be forgiven, or she will pay the price of guilt? To find out, watch the new “Judgement” music video / Episode 6 from Glare Of Deliverance at this location or watch the first six episodes RIGHT NOW via the official series playlist located here and stay tuned for the remaining four episodes throughout the first half of 2021…

“When filming Judgement, it was difficult to find the right location for the shoot” says guitarist Tommaso Monticelli. “Finally we discovered an abandoned village called Marone, by the Alps near Domodossola, and it had the vibe we were looking for. After finally getting permission to film there we had to walk 20 minutes on a stony path carrying a lot of equipment such as a 40-kilogram electric generator, a wooden throne, furniture, props, costumes, lighting, it was a lot! It took about 6 round trips for our whole crew but was worth it. The church was in terrible condition and it took a lot of work to clean it and set it up for the shoot. There were dozens of little black scorpions all over the floor inside this cold, wet church which we needed to make sure we removed before we could safely film. In this episode, I played the role of The Bishop and it was a lot of fun. Alessandra and Floriana (the costume and make-up artists) helped me all day while I was wearing that amazing but not-so-comfortable costume and I have to thank them so much for all their support during those tough days of work. Thanks also to Miss Giacomina who helped us carry down all the heavy stuff with her ATV, she was definitely a last-minute blessing from the heavens!”

Glare of Deliverance is the band’s third full-length album, and it was produced by guitarist Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at Sonitus Studio. The album was recently released on December 4, 2020 and has received dozens of rave reviews from all over the world. Metal Radio gives it 90/100 calling it “one of the best albums of 2020” while A&P Reacts says “this album is absolutely flawless and perfect”. The praise goes on and on from dozens of highly respected media outlets. For just a sample of highlights, see here.

Glare Of Deliverance is the band’s most ambitious achievement yet. The scope and vision of the project had grown monumentally huge in comparison to their initial plans for the album. Aside from recording & producing a ten song concept album, the band had to pull together a full production team for the ten-episode video series which consisted of concept artist Tom Roberts (Ghost), costume designers, animal trainers, prop construction, a cast of actors & actresses, visual effects supervisors, special effects wizards, stuntmen, catering services, and even a full orchestral choir!

Glare of Deliverance is the band’s third full-length album, and it was produced by guitarist Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at Sonitus Studio. It features ten tracks of powerful, soaring symphonic metal that will leave you amazed, both sonically and visually. Glare of Deliverance full-length album was released on December 4, 2020 via Eclipse Records.

BUTCHER BABIES Release “Sleeping With The Enemy” Video

Today, innovative rockers – BUTCHER BABIES – release the video for their newest single “Sleeping With The Enemy” which showcases the musical and diversity that Butcher Babies has cultivated over the years. The video for the track is darkly beautiful and artistic, so the band paired with Fashion and Culture magazine, BLACKBOOK to premiere it.  It can be found at this location.

American Songwriter in a feature on the band,  lauded the new single, saying, “‘Sleeping With The Enemy’ is the best of both old and new Butcher Babies. The turn to melodic vocals is seen executed by Shepherd and co-vocalist Carla Harvey with just enough intermittent screams to give texture and peaks to a song already hardened by chunky, power riffs.”

Carla says, “‘Sleeping With The Enemy’ is one of the most vulnerable songs we’ve ever written.   The song is the ultimate “own your own bullshit”  song…because the first step in change is always admitting there’s a problem, right?”

Heidi adds, “When face to face with what you presume as your enemy; who is it? Is it you? In ‘Sleeping with the Enemy’ the devil and angel on my shoulders met. This song is about hypocrisy and self realization. We can get so caught up in the rat race of life, as humans we tend to lose track of ourselves and our core values along the way. There comes a point where you look at the perceived problems in your life and realize there is one common denominator; yourself! Whether it’s in the lens you look at life through or an overall attitude, there comes a point where we must turn a negative into a positive. This song is that for me.”

Guitarist Henry Flury adds, “And just when you thought we weren’t going to be heavy anymore… BOOM! This is definitely a song for the stage. Can you sing and circle pit at the same time?”

In 2020, Butcher Babies released “Bottom of A Bottle” and celebrated 10 years as a band by creating and releasing their own signature wine called “Butcher Burgundy”. The new wine is available for purchase at butcherbabiesmerch.com.

“Sleeping With The Enemy”  marks the second release from Butcher Babies’ forthcoming EP, which is set for release in mid-2021.

SOEN Unveil Captivating Video For Single “Illusion”

The provocative, imperious and engaging Swedish-based metal group SOEN reveal the thought-provoking and emotive video for ‘Illusion’, taken from their fifth album, IMPERIAL, set for release via Silver Lining Music on January 29th 2021. For pre-orders, go to this location

Founder members Joel Ekelöf (vocals) and Martin Lopez (drums), along with Lars Enok Åhlund (keyboards and guitar), Oleksii “Zlatoyar” Kobel (bass) and Cody Ford (lead guitar), are an undeniable cypher for all the issues and emotions which swirl around us. The outfit once more step up to challenge our perceptions of life and humanity with ‘Illusion’, an addictive ballad brimming with bewitching guitar riffs, powerhouse-soaring chorus’ and a poignant message for all of us to reflect on.

“Illusion is a song about the shared responsibility amongst us if we wish to improve the world, change has to be made by us, you and me…the people”

asserts Lopez

“It’s about the frustration of feeling powerless but also the hope in realising that things can be changed for the better”

furthers Lopez,

“if we stop criticising each other and making enemies of ourselves by blindly following the ideas of politicians and their media.”

Ekelöf affirms

“we can’t just sit around and wait for those in power to help, they are preoccupied with battling each other in matters of greed and power.”

The video follows the tale of a father and daughter in their quest for survival in a dystopian universe.

Video Producer, Daniele Zed Berretta comments:

“‘Illusion’ video is about dreamers. There are people who are ready to lose everything to follow their dreams, no matter the cost. Others are afraid of making dreams come true, so they stop right before fulfilling them, just to keep dreaming”

Watch/Listen to the recently released ‘Antagonist’ and ‘Monarch’ here.

Produced by Iñaki Marconi and the band, IMPERIAL was mixed and mastered by Kane Churko, who has worked with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Bob Dylan. Eight crisp, sharp, and supremely constructed songs spanning frustration, reflection and hope, IMPERIAL is the most fierce and dynamic release of SOEN’s journey, which will engage the listener immediately and sustain long after this crazy time has passed, its rich details destined to make it a classic metal album of this era.

Fans eager to catch SOEN performing their new material, will have to wait till the Autumn for the band to be able to get on the road again.
