New DION Album “The Rock ‘N’ Roll Philosopher” Out Now

The new album from first generation rock and roller Dion DiMucci is out today on all digital platforms and CD. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Philosopher, a16-track set, is an amalgam of new material, some recent offerings, as well as songs that have been part of Dion’s repertoire dating back seven decades.

The album, released by KTBA Records, as were his previous three albums, is an extension of the similarly titled book that Dion co-authored with Adam Jablin, published earlier this year. Today’s release was preceded by the video launch of two tracks: the all-new “I’m Your Gangster of Love” and a new version of the classic “Abraham, Martin and John.”

Dion discussed his vision for the album with Billboard’s Gary Graff recently, noting “I thought I would just let it run like a concert.  That was my vision; if I had to do a set with a band, I’m gonna do these 16 songs in this order,” adding, “It’s the perfect concert.”

Like the book, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Philosopher album is a reflection of Dion’s life journey. In the album notes he explains, “I pulled together some of the songs I discussed in the book and some of them I changed.” He describes the book as “a wide-ranging memoir in which I talk about music, addiction, recovery, friendships, God, creativity, relationships and all the important things in life from which I’ve learned important lessons.”

The album’s tracks include collaborations with Sonny Landreth, Joe Bonamassa, Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton, the latter of whom also contributed a 600-word foreword to the album, in which he calls Dion “one of a kind, unparalleled in his achievement and stature. He is a genius singer, writer, musician and healer.” He also wrote, “He is the perfect example of how you can do what you love to do and still be available to the lives of others.” Clapton, long an admirer of Dion, also contributed the prologue to The Rock ‘n’ Roll Philosopher book and is heard on “If You Wanna Rock and Roll,” a song written by Dion that debuted on his Stomping Ground album, released by KTBA in 2021.

Most of the album’s tracks were co-produced by Dion and Wayne Hood with the exceptions being three tracks Bob Guertin worked on with Dion, and two that were produced by Jimmy Vivino. “New York Minute,” one of several co-writes Mike Aquilina, debuted earlier this year; underscoring the hometown theme, the album also includes an updated version of “New York Is My Home.” The latter is one of two selections on the album in which the late Scott Kempner had a hand in writing; the other, written with Fern Carle, is “In A Heartbeat of Time.” Kempner was co-founder of punk rock’s Dictators and Del-Lords and partnered and performed with Dion in The Little Kings, a hard rock band who are heard on a live version of “King of the New York Streets” recorded at the Mercury Lounge in the titular city.

There’s also “Serenade/Come To the Cross,” an adaptation of the Tom Waits song “San Diego Serenade,” now melded with one of Dion’s songs of faith. Dion classics, sourced from the 2003 New Masters collection, include “Ruby Baby,” “Runaround Sue” and “The Wanderer,” each a career touchstone for Dion as was the later “Abraham, Martin and John.” The version included in The Rock ‘n’ Roll Philosopher is a new version with strings and background vocals arranged by Robert Florczak. Dion spoke of the song, the original version of which was huge hit when it was originally released in 1968, telling Billboard, “It was never meant to be a political song. It’s about a state of love…”

The next single and video from YELLOW SNOW‘s rocking and fun holiday album, ‘Volume 1,’ is ready to go – “What’s This?” A classic tune penned by Danny Elfman that originally appeared in the classic Tim Burton film, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas,’ the Yellow Snow lads make it all their own with their rendition, which can be enjoyed via this link: https://found.ee/whatsthis

Concerning the song, Yellow Snow’s creator, composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and vocalist Mike DiBiase, had this to say. “I never knew if it was a Christmas or Halloween song. Instead of doing a traditional orchestral arrangement, I thought, ‘Let’s do big Queen-Type vocals in place of that orchestral instrumentation and then let’s make it really rock with heavy guitars.’”

“So, I went downstairs and worked out the arrangement. Then, I drank a bottle of wine, and I sang it the best I could. The vein in my temple was about to pop out of my head by the time I was done, but it fits our brand. It’s definitely a rockin’ song now.”

For years, Rhode Island-born DiBiase — a lifelong musician and EMMY ® Award – nominated audio post production talent by trade — had “gifted” family and friends hard rock Christmas songs. He decided to bring them to the stage at a Rhode Island club in 2007 for the live debut of Yellow Snow, packing the house and donating a portion of the proceeds to various charities.

He annually headlined shows throughout the ensuing years stirring up a level of cult fandom among the initiated. The music also quietly took on a life of its own as DiBiase’s original song “Giddy Yup, Santa Claus” landed a high-profile sync on The CW’s Riverdale.

Armed with the framework constructed by DiBiase and his bandmates (Matt Baird, Al Diaz, Franklin La Barbara, Denise Gouvin, Jason Berndt, and Chris Piccirillo), he decamped to Nashville in order to finish recording what would become Yellow Snow’s full-length debut LP, ‘Volume 1,’ during 2023.

And soon, the single and video for his rendition of “What’s This?” is certain to stir up some serious holiday vibes for rock fans.

DIEVERSITY to Release New Album “IV” on January 16th, First Details Revealed

DIEVERSITY have released the cover art and track list for their new album, “IV,” which will be released on January 16, 2026. The magnificent cover—once again designed by Björn Gooßes (Killustrations)—plays an important role in this.

Band founder Daniel Heß comments:
“The cover of DIEVERSITY’s ‘IV’, designed by Björn Gooßes, shows a monumental, moon-like sphere with an engraved ‘4’ above a barren, extraterrestrial landscape. The mixture of cosmic vastness, decay, and isolation perfectly reflects the progressive sound of DIEVERSITY’s modern metalcore.”

The album will be released on CD and colored vinyl (gatefold cover)!

Tracklist:
01 – IV
02 – Piece Of Mind
03 – Blame Me
04 – Animal
05 – Gears Of Society
06 – Tyrant
07 – Trees Of Yesterday
08 – Short Fuse
09 – Free
10 – The Hunt
11 – Phantom Silhouette

Who is DIEVERSITY?
Franconia is known not only for its beers, wines, and sense of humor, but also for its outstanding heavy metal bands. One of these bands is DIEVERSITY from Würzburg. Founded over a decade ago, they forged a modern metal sound that delivers explosive power and is bursting with melody. The band name is no coincidence – diversity is the guiding principle for these creative musicians. DIEVERSITY made a strong impression with their debut album Last Day Tomorrow  and showed that modern metal doesn’t just have to come from Scandinavia. – even though Swedish influences have always played a role, as shown by the guest appearance of Björn “Speed” Strid (SOILWORK) on their follow-up album ReAwakening. A new chapter was written with the album Age Of Ignorance.   Now it’s time to turn the page again. In 2025, DIEVERSITY presents itself with a new lineup – both musically and personally refreshed. Their sound has undergone a striking transformation, shaped by modern genre heavyweights like Architects, Monuments, and Wage War. Heavier, more technical, more progressive – and yet still unmistakably DIEVERSITY.  This evolution culminates in the upcoming fourth studio album: IV, set for release in  January 2026. A statement. A new beginning. A band that doesn’t reinvent itself – but evolves. Consistently, uncompromisingly, and in tune with the times. DIEVERSITY 2025: modern metal from Franconia – as sharp-edged as ever, but with a new blade.

Line-up:
Robin Mattner – Vocals
Daniel Heß – Guitars
Olav Langer – Guitars
Max Sommerlad – Bass
Dominik Waldorf – Drums

EMIL KÀRLSEN Releases First Self-Produced Single ‘Golggotmánu jurdagat’

Norwegian-Sámi musician and storyteller Emil Kárlsen returns with a new single, “Golggotmánu jurdagat” (“October’s thoughts”). Written and recorded entirely by Kárlsen himself in 2024, the track marks a milestone for the artist as his first self-produced release.

“The title translates to ‘October’s thoughts’, and the song reflects the mild and unusually long autumn that lingered, both in nature and in mood,” explains Emil.

“Golggotmánu jurdagat” features the contribution of Finnish violinist Tuomas Rounakari, whose soft play fits seamlessly into Emil’s intimate sonic landscape. The track was mixed by respected producer Ariel Joshua Sivertsen. The result is a warm and atmospheric track—perfectly in tune with the gentle shift of seasons, and a promising sign of what’s to come from this young artist.

Listen to the single here: https://emilkarlsen.lnk.to/jurdagat

Emil’s work is rooted in heritage while embracing the new. His signature sound—where ancient yoik meets modern songwriting—offers a rare and authentic perspective in the Nordic music scene. In addition to his musical career, Emil starred in the critically acclaimed Disney+ series “How to Cook a Bear,” further expanding his creative journey.

Songwriter, actor, yoiker, and producer Emil Ráste Karlsen—better known under his artist name Emil Kárlsen—is an indigenous multi-instrumentalist born in 1997, originally from the coastal Northern Sámi community of Omasvuotna/Storfjord. Combining traditional Sámi yoiks with melodic pop songwriting and a strong band foundation, Emil’s music offers a deeply rooted sound that bridges generations and cultures.

At the core of Emil’s artistry lies a powerful intent: to build connections between people, places, and time. After a decade of performing in Norwegian with his award-winning band Resirkulert, Emil made the deliberate choice to write in his mother tongue, Northern Sámi, and to revive the tradition of juoiggan (yoiking) in the coastal Sámi areas—a form of resistance and reclamation of identity through sound.

Emil is also a celebrated actor with the Sámi National Theatre Beaivváš and stars in the acclaimed Disney+ TV series To Cook a Bear. Yet, it is on stage as a musician that Emil feels most at home. Whether performing solo, with his band, or backed by a full orchestra, Emil Kárlsen delivers emotionally charged, magnetic performances that leave a lasting impact. Every concert is a living expression of his culture and charisma—never quite the same, and always unforgettable. Through music and art, Emil Kárlsen expresses gratitude that his culture not only survives but thrives.

MARIANAS REST Announce New Album “The Bereaved” + Unleash Video for First Single ‘The Colour of You’

Finnish doom-laden death metal force MARIANAS REST have officially announced the release of their highly anticipated fifth studio album, “The Bereaved”, set to drop on January 16, 2026, via their new label home Noble Demon.

To mark the occasion, the band has released the first single and haunting music video for “The Colour of You” – a track that sets the emotional and sonic tone for what may be their most personal and devastating album to date.

Listen to the single HERE

“When we started composing The Colour we didn’t see it ending up as a love song, but here we are,” comments vocalist Jaakko Mäntymaa. “Like the whole album, this song deals with personal loss. Sometimes it may be healthier to forget than to cling on to memories no matter how cherished they are.”

Guitarist Nico Mänttäri adds: “At first we had an acoustic demo with some string arrangements that we didn’t exactly know what to do with. We went back and forth with a couple of ideas but it didn’t seem to hit the right nerve. Then when the idea of what the song could be about, it was a light bulb over the head type of a situation, and it took maybe half an hour to get the arrangement sorted.”

Tracklist:

  1. Thank You for the Dance
  2. Rat in the Wall
  3. Divided
  4. Again into the Night
  5. Burden
  6. Diamonds in the Rough
  7. Pity the Living
  8. Goodbyes and Good Intentions
  9. Tyhjä
  10. The Colour of You

From the dark shores of the Baltic Sea, MARIANAS REST channel the deep melancholy of their homeland. Hailing from the southeastern Finnish town of Kotka, the band was formed in 2013 and has since become a powerful force in the world of melancholic death metal.

Their music is heavy and unhurried, blending elements of doom, death, and post-metal into a sound that is both crushing and beautiful. MARIANAS REST don’t just write songs – they create moods: haunting, immersive, and emotionally devastating. A journey into darkness that, strangely, feels both familiar and comforting.

Over the course of four albums – Horror Vacui (2016), Ruins (2019), Fata Morgana (2021), and Auer (2023) – the band has explored themes of isolation, despair, and conflict with uncanny timing. Fata Morgana was the closing chapter of a trilogy written before the pandemic but released at its peak. Auer was completed just before military unrest erupted in Europe – a coincidence too eerie to script.

In January 2026 the band will return with their fifth full length, “The Bereaved”, and a brand new record label deal with Noble Demon. It is a deeply personal tale of death and the many forms in which the end may appear. We meet these Finnish axemen in midst of memorial, tortured by those do’s or don’ts of individuals left behind, even though some indeed pity the living and envy the dead. At such times, who is more blessed, the deceased or the bereaved?

Again, just like on their previous albums, the melodies are the key for an unique soundtrack for the ongoing struggle against the black clouds that seem to gather around us all every now and then.

When it comes to MARIANAS REST’s music, sometimes slow, deep and hard, on some occasions a bit faster and aggressive attacks, it sure does include that x-factor of Finnish DNA, that embraces melancholy and beauty on such level that makes one’s hair stand every single time.

“The Bereaved” will be released on January 16 via Noble Demon and is now available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

In addition, the band will celebrate the release of the new album by touring Finland and Europe during the winter and spring of 2026.

Confirmed dates so far include:
29.11.2025 – John Smith Frozen, Jyväskylä
23.01.2026 – House Of Rock, Kouvola
24.01.2026 – Apollo, Turku
30.01.2026 – Sawohouse / Finland Underground, Kuopio
14.02.2026 – Kadotus Metal Fest, Jyväskylä

More to be announced soon.

Guitar | Nico Mänttäri
Guitar | Harri Sunila
Bass | Niko Lindman

FALLING INTO VIEW’s New Single ‘Things (that I thought might one day be useful)’ Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 25, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: FALLING INTO VIEW. Leave a comment

Recently being announced as a BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcester Featured Artist, just six months into their story as a band, and having received radio airplay across multiple stations, Falling into View are delighted to be able to bring you their next single. After the successful release and reviews of their first two singles “What is it like to Lose?” and “On with the Show”, Falling into View are very proud to release their third single “Things (that I thought might one day be useful)”.

Stream here: https://ditto.fm/things-that-i-thought-might-one-day-be-useful

As with their previous singles, “Things” (due for release on 24th October) has already received BBC Introducing airplay and is a crowd favourite at their live shows, often stopping people in their tracks and silencing the room as Lyss and Allan perform this song in a stripped back way. Written and composed by prolific songwriter Allan, this track came together in just thirty minutes whilst Allan was packing up boxes and preparing to move house after it had been the family home for many years, although turning it into a breakup song gave it a bit of a twist!

He goes on to write that everyone has that drawer or cupboard shelf full of precious, sentimental things gathered across the years and it is often lovely to rediscover them and occasionally, just occasionally, they may one day be useful!.
Allan states: “We’ve heard it said many times that some of the best songs are conceived and written in a matter of moments and this song was certainly one of those.
I recently moved house and whilst emptying drawer in an old cabinet I was struck by the amount of stuff it contained and why on earth we thought any of it would ever come in useful!
It was later that day when the thought struck me that this experience was a kind of metaphor for the way in which we bank memories. How we use them to look back fondly over the path our journey has taken or conversely, use the more painful ones to remind us not to take that pathway again!
So I sat down and wrote this song. In a matter of thirty minutes, I had the main body of the song and the melody. I took it to rehearsal and played it to the rest of the band and was struck by the stunned silence which greeted the final chords!
Imagine my relief when they all said they loved it! After talking over with Lyss we decided that it needed another verse to complete the story and so I went home that evening and wrote the last verse.
We all love this song, and we know how it affects people we play it to as they greet it with the same moment of stunned silence before the applause, it’s that split second that tells you the words you have written have resonated.”

Once again recorded at Magic Garden Studios in the West Midlands and produced by multi-platinum and BMA award winner Gavin Monaghan, this song will appeal to lovers of Americana, Country and Pop. Receiving fantastic reviews across their early live shows, Falling into View blend the best of Country and Americana with an unashamed nod to Pop, delivering a sound that will resonate with fans of multiple artists and genres.

Singer Alyssa has previously made waves as a BBC Introducing featured artist. Allan, the band’s chief songwriter, carries the torch as its most seasoned musician, having also played alongside drummer Gordon in previous band The Idle Quiet. After that band’s chapter closed, Gordon suggested Alyssa take the microphone for a new project, bringing ex work colleague, and long-term friend, Rob on board to play bass. Lead guitarist and former bandmate of Rob, Bernie joined soon after, completing a lineup that came together as if it were meant to be, with everything “Falling into View” nicely!

With a rich mix of influences and an undeniable chemistry and an ability to not take itself too seriously, Falling into View is ready to make its mark—one song at a time.

Live shows:
25th Oct, The Dragonffli, Pontypool
20th Dec, The Globe, Hay On Wye

Alyssa Wint (vocals and acoustic guitar)
Allan Price (rhythm guitar)
Bernie Eacock (lead guitar and backing vocals)
Rob Beavan (bass guitar and backing vocals)
Gordon (Gordy) Wint (drums and occasional backing vocals)
