NEROMEGA’s striking debut mini-album entitled “Nero Omega” will be released on CD and 12” vinyl formats during early spring 2021. “Nero Omega” features 4 tracks of Italian doom metal, spawned in a frenzy of giallo, horror and morbidity. “Nero Omega” is a gathering of italian musicians from Rome, who have been active for over 25 years in very different bands and musical contexts. The band’s sound reeks of doom, italian giallo/noir/horror morbidity and covid-19 insanity.

Finnish Rockers GENTLE SAVAGE, formed in 2013, will release their new single ‘YNAMW (You Never Ask Me Why)’ on December 28th. Today the band has revealed more details about the single, unleashing also a short teaser video. The single is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album ‘Midnight Waylay’, out in February 2021.
Lead vocalist Tornado on the single: “YNAMW (You Never Ask Me Why) started out as a funny triplet feel guitar riff with sound effects of whipping and wicked screaming. The first idea was to write a song with the feel of a Clint Eastwood type of a Western movie. While being on a sick leave, vocalist Tornado Bearstone watched The Twilight Saga (accidentally of course). Somehow the idea of superhuman powers, beauty and eternal love appealed to Tornado’s state of mind and a modern Cowboy – Vampire character was born in his imagination. So you can say that the story of You Never Ask Me Why was inspired by the movies.”
He continues, “As a composition YNAMW is somewhere between Gentle Savage’s songs Run Run Poor Boy and Karelian Magic. It has a melodic chorus that gives a good contrast to the quite bold and rhythmic feel of the verses. You can easily recognize it as a Gentle Savage song with the guaranteed sounds they are already known for. There’s plenty of interesting things going on both musically and story wise as the Cowboy – Vampire goes out looking for the one he loves! And bites.”

Previously Tornado unveiled: “YNAMW is a fairly weird song. With it’s rhythmic and dynamic character YNAMW gives you some real nice boost while jogging or coupling or just rockin’ around.. (Meditation is propably out of the question). Four different parts include two solos and of course – a catchy chorus. YNAMW tells a story about a modern cowboy-vampire and his call to action. Our hero reveals his yearn for eternal love. And just for making sure; this story is fictive! More about it later.”
On November 27th, GENTLE SAVAGE unleashed their new analog animation music video of an adventure in the Underworld, ‘Honey Bunny -the Rock’n Roll transformation’. Just recently the band released two reaction videos, where the band members Jay & Tornado and the cartoonist Jyrki Heikkinen give their reaction while watching the fully edited video for the first time. ‘Honey Bunny – The Rock’n Roll Transformation’ video was made in collaboration with cartoon artist Jyrki Heikkinen and photographer Ilari Kallinen. The story was created by Tornado Bearstone and Jyrki Heikkinen alongside the Gentle Savage’s guitarist Tim O’Shore.

Heavy Metal heroes SABATON have just reached the amazing amount of 1 million subscribers on their YouTube channel. To celebrate this, as part of their Advent Calendar, they surprise-released an animated video-clip for their hymn ‘No Bullets Fly’, taken from their “Heroes” album.
The video tells the story of Franz Stigler and Charlie Brown, two (enemy!) pilots in the second world war. While Charlie’s plane was severely damaged and the pilot hurt, Franz decided instead of shooting him down, to risk his own life and escort him into safety. Both survived and over 50 years later they met each other again and became very close friends. A lovely story, that did not became public before 1990.
SABATON’s latest album, “The Great War”, was released in 2019 and it hit the #1 in the charts in various countries including Germany, Switzerland and Sweden. The record has been lauded by fans and critics since its debut on worldwide charts last summer, and features numerous colossal singles like ‘Great War’, ’82nd All The Way’, ’The Red Baron’ and ‘Fields of Verdun’.

Lead guitarist Greg Fraser discussed the new single, “We thought it might be fun to jam out a Christmas song to maybe help put a little positivity back in this world. Picking the song was the tough part. Our bass player Mike insisted it should be ‘Wam’s ‘Last Christmas’ because no one’s really ever rocked that one up before. We literally banged this song out (drums, guitars, bass & vocals) in less than 2 hours. Our attitude was, “if it sucks, we won’t release it!” We’re quite happy with the results. So here it is, we hope you enjoy it & we wish you all a Merry Christmas!”

Finnish death / thrash-act CURIMUS have released yet another music video from their latest album Garden of Eden, released at the end of October. Fourth video was made of the track “72”, on which the legendary frontman David Bower from the British NWOBHM-band HELL can be heard. The video was created by video artist Miss Hoo.
Garden of Eden has gained praising reviews around the world, and hit the Official Finnish album chart at #18 and #3 on the Official physical albums chart.
