Today, the kindred of Yorkshire raise the curtains: MY DYING BRIDE‘s new MLP “Macabre Cabaret”, following the band’s highly acclaimed album “The Ghost Of Orion” (March 6th) is out today!
Singer Aaron Stainthorpe states: “The latest offering from Yorkshires finest merchants of misery features new music composed in the style the band have made their own over three decades which continues their relevance within the scene today. Macabre Cabaret is as menacing and brooding as it is beautiful and melancholic with crushing guitar riffs sailing side by side with emotive piano pieces and vocals to suit all flavours. The stunning artwork captures the image of the band perfectly offering a visual interpretation of the aural devastation that is My Dying Bride.”
To celebrate the news, the band unveils a video for the title track today:
Aaron Stainthorpe adds: “The new video from My Dying Bride offers a visual treat for lovers of gothic menace and doom-heavy art. A narrative shot in various locations is cut with scenes of the band members doing what they do best – performing their music. A provocative story is played out to sombre overtones with a climax sitting well inside the shadows of malice as the band are dramatised in silhouette shade and smoky aplomb.”
The EP was produced mixed and mastered by maestro Mark Mynett and crowned with a beautiful and sinister artwork from Bunker Artworks. It comes as jewelcase CD, digital version, Black Gatefold LP, Black And Blue Splatter LP [US exclusive – limited to 300 p.], Blue Sparkle LP [Mailorder Exclusive – limited to 300 p.], White and Grey Splatter [Mailorder and Wholesale Exclusive – limited to 300 p.], Marigold LP [EMP Exclusive – limited to 300 p] and White LP [US – Revolver Magazine Exclusive – limited to 300 p].
Michael Schenker has completed the recording of a brand new MSG album, “Immortal”, which is set to be released via Nuclear Blast on January 29th, 2021. The album title is a perfect statement describing Michael Schenker’s legacy and to celebrate his 50th anniversary as a musician. Today, the band has released a lyric video for their first single ‘Drilled To Kill’; a heavy up-tempo track which is also the opening song on the album. The track features the legendary PRIMAL FEAR singer Ralf Scheepers on vocals, whilst Michael Schenker and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION etc.) engage in an exciting battle of guitar vs. keyboard.
The tracklist reads as follows: 01. Drilled To Kill 02. Don´t Die On Me Now 03. Knight Of The Dead 04. After The Rain 05. Devil’s Daughter 06. Sail The Darkness 07. The Queen Of Thorns And Roses 08. Come On Over 09. Sangria Morte 10. In Search Of The Peace Of Mind
The album was predominantly recorded at the Kidroom Studio in Germany, with Michael‘s long time partner Michael Voss who co-produced the album and also sings on two tracks. The cover artwork of „Immortal“ wascreated by Zsofia Dankova(POWERWOLF etc.).
„Immortal“ will continue the tradition of the previous two MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST records „Resurrection“ and „Revelation“ featuring a big list of friends and guests. The album’s main vocalist will be uprising Chilean born talent Ronnie Romero (RAINBOW etc.), along with Michael Voss (MAD MAX etc.), Ralf Scheepers(PRIMAL FEAR) and Joe Lynn Turner (ex-DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW etc.) singing on two tracks each. Besides Michael Schenker himself, the album was recorded with Steve Mann (keyboards), Barry Sparks (bass, DOKKEN etc.), as well as the three drummersBodo Schopf, SimonPhilipps (ex-TOTO) and Brian Tichy (ex-WHITESNAKE). The newest addition to the record is keyboard player Derek Sherinian (ex-DREAM THEATER, ex-KISS etc.), who plays on the album’s opening track, featuring German power machine Ralf Scheepers on vocals.
„Immortal“ will feature ten tracks, including the magnum opus “In Search Of The Peace Of Mind”.„I wrote this song when I was 15 years old, it was my first ever written piece of music which I recorded with SCORPIONS on our first studio album „Lonesome Crow“ in 1970, getting released in 1972. We re-recorded this song for my 50th anniversary as a celebration and it turned out to be an epic; with an extra extension at the end of the song, which turned out absolutely fantastic with Simon Phillips on drums, doing his usual amazing stuff.“ The result is a true highlight and features even more surprises: „Gary Barden sings the first verse, continued by Ronnie Romero – and in the end we have Ronnie, Doogie White and Robin McAuley screaming their heads off, as a tribute to my 50th anniversary. Absolute amazing. Thanks to the guys for doing this!“
The limited first edition of this upcoming MSG album will feature another unique extra: „It will include the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST – Bang Your Head – Blu-ray, which was recorded during our headline show in Balingen/Germany two years ago: Unfixed, raw, pure and great! There’s a couple of small mistakes, but because the show and recording went so well, I decided to keep it the way it went on the night. It’s live, magic and pure.“
The moon, an autumnal atmosphere, fog in the woods, vampires and a wicked storyteller – as an 80s horror fan you’ll get everything you desired by watching the cinematic new video clip for WITHERFALL’s “As I Lie Awake”. The video was directed by the renown director Zev Deans who didn’t just do spectacular videos for the likes of Ghost, Behemoth or Chelsea Wolfe, but also Denzel Curry and St. Vincent.
Dim the lights, sit back and enjoy “As I Lie Awake (Official Video)”:
WITHERFALL comments: “’As I Lie Awake’ is the catchiest WITHERFALL song to date. It was created with much arguing and loud drunken chicanery. Early on the band and producer Jon Schaffer agreed that this should be the lead single. Director Zev Deans who had directed Ghost’s ‘Dance Macabre’ was enlisted for the job and the video for ‘As I Lie Awake’ features a great ‘Lost Boys’ styled treatment. Thanks again to Duffs in Brooklyn, we didn’t mean to spill blood and wine on your carpet…”
Director Zev Deans about the video: “When Joseph sent me the song, it immediately transported me to an era when both heavy metal and horror movies were all about sex, blood and ultimately, a good time! Movies like ‘The Lost Boys’ were in the movie theaters and long-format music videos like ‘Thriller’ were on MTV.”
“As I Lie Awake” is the second single taken from “Curse Of Autumn”, the upcoming album from L.A.’s finest WITHERFALL that is scheduled for a worldwide street date on March 5th, 2021 with the US vinyl being available April 2nd, 2021. Preorders will be launched shortly.
What could possibly be a better time of the year to dive headfirst into dark melodic metal? While the shadows of winter are creeping up upon us and the nights get longer it is the perfect time for “Curse Of Autumn” to unfold.
The album art is once again another hand painted masterpiece by the legendary Kristian Wåhlin, the fourth painting in the WITHERFALL series.
“Curse Of Autumn” was produced by Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth, Demons & Wizards) for Ravencraft Productions, Joseph Michael (vocals, keyboards, also in Sanctuary) and Jake Dreyer (guitar, also in Iced Earth, Demons & Wizards). For the recording and mix they teamed up with Jim Morris (Savatage, Iced Earth, Kamelot, Death) while Tom Morris took over mastering duties. After most WITHERFALL songs were written with just an acoustic guitar, pen and paper and copious amounts of red wine, it was the group effort of the full production team that made a difference. “Jon Schaffer and Jim Morris really brought a lot of energy to these sessions”, Michael comments.
Finnish Rockers GENTLE SAVAGE, formed in 2013, will release their new animated music video for the song ‘Honey Bunny -the Rock’n Roll transformation’ on November 27th. Today the band reveals a teaser video and a story behind it.
Watch the ‘Honey Bunny -the Rock’n Roll transformation’ teaser video here: hyperurl.co/HB_Teaser
Watch the Honey BunnyTeaser story video announcement, here:
’Honey Bunny – the Rock ’n Roll Transformation’ is an analogical cartoon music video. It builds up from hundreds of hand painted mixed technique pictures to combine into a movie. The man behind the art is a Finnish graphic artist named Jyrki Heikkinen. The story was created by Tornado Bearstone and Jyrki Heikkinen assisted along with Gentle Savage’s guitarist Tim O’Shore.
Rock ’n Roll Transformation takes you on a journey to the underworld. The main character, ’Mr. Bunny’, tumbles down a mysterious hole in the ground ending up in the Underworld. Whilst he is falling, he transforms from a regular rabbit into a two legged walking human-like Rock ’n Roller. Feeling a little dizzy in the head, Mr. Bunny starts his journey in the underworld. He ends up hanging with the bad ass ’Lady Bunny’ who teaches him some moves ’n manners. In the end Mr. Bunny has a big decision to make….
Lead vocalist Tornado says: “Since I was a kid I’ve always loved comic books. First it was Tarzan, Lucky Luke, Tin Tin and Asterix. Later I found Conan and the Marvel characters, with a variety from ’high end’ comic books to more splatter-like stories. Comic book art is a beautiful, yet underappreciated form of art. Computers have taken the place of a brush, paper and hand painting, but it’s good to remember that Spiderman and his buddies weren’t born in the movies. First there were comic books”.
Gentle Savage’s debut album, ‘Midnight Waylay’ will be unleashed in February 2021. It’s a way of describing an ambush at midnight, or going to a rock show; you never know what’s going to happen out there.
Midnight Waylay depicts a ‘taking it easy in the daytime, turning into a beast at night’ kind of lifestyle. Just like a hunter strikes from the shadows, ruthless and silent, these songs can without warning rock your world.
As a concept the album Midnight Waylay is best appreciated when served whole, but each song has its own character and works well independently. Find your own adventure, let yourself loose!”
“It is all about the songs. And their internal message. That’s the basic philosophy behind Gentle Savage.”
GENTLE SAVAGE are: Tornado Bearstone, songwriter, vocals and guitar Jay B, drums and backing vocals Vance Bead, bass and backing vocals Tim O`Shore, guitar and backing vocals Theo van Boom, keyboards and backing vocals
’Treat yourself and let our magic in. We’ll take care of the rest’.

Spain’s leading Thrash Metallers ANGELUS APATRIDA return with their 7th, self-titled album, to be released on February 5th, 2021 worldwide via Century Media Records.
“Angelus Apatrida” (“/ˈan-je-lus – a-ˈpa-tri-da/”) was produced by the band, recorded with Juanan López in September/October at Baboon Records, in Albacete, Spain and then mixed and mastered by Christopher “Zeuss” Harris (Rob Zombie, Overkill, Hatebreed, Municipal Waste, Shadows Fall) at Planet-Z in Wilbraham, MA, USA. The album features 10 songs, sounding more determined, versatile and ferocious than ever before, on the verge of the group’s 20th anniversary of existence.
A first impression of the album can be obtained now via the single “Bleed The Crown”, out today and to be seen in a video directed by Fernando Morales / www.micocographics.com here:
ANGELUS APATRIDA checked in with the following comment about the song:“It’s really hard to choose what’s gonna be the first single of an album, which is a complete single by itself! ‘Bleed The Crown’ maybe is one of those classic Angelus Apatrida songs that unites energy, awesome riffs and catchy vocals that once you listen to it will stay in your head the whole day! Powerful song, screaming against dark powers pulling strings from above. A perfect appetizer of what’s coming next with our new album!”
Before adding the following words about the video-clip itself: “How to make a cool, straight-to-the-face video during a pandemic lockdown? Just call some friends who actually own an awesome graphics studio, buy tons of beers and let’s get to work! We really wanted to support some local professionals in our town, specially if they’re friends of us and incredible pros; that’s been one of the better points of this. No story, no big deal. Since we can’t perform on stage, we wanted to reflect the real sweat, blood and tears of a real show, so that’s it! The incredible work on lights of Jorge and Juanan made every shot fit perfectly with the rage and attitude of the song itself. No kidding, I think you’ll feel the energy through the screen! We want to thank Fer, Antonio, George, Juanan, Baboon Records, Capitán Denim, Ayeres Antiques, Albeniz Albacete and Arenas Audio for their great work and invaluable help!”

Over the years LOCH VOSTOK have delivered 7 albums, each time bringing something new to the table. The 8th album, coming spring 2021 is no different. The second single “Disillusion” from the yet untitled upcoming album, drops on November 20th.
Loch Vostok was born out of the ashes of Mayadome in the year 2000, from the fractured mind of Teddy Möller. Loch Vostok is where anything goes. Where cheese meets grind. Where speed meets groove. This year marks the 20th year anniversary for the band, and with that some changes are introduced. Leaving the lead vocal duties, to focus on guitars and growl, Teddy passes the baton over to Jonas Radehorn.
Jonas Radehorn has been the singer of various genres in ands since age 15. The Citadel, Falling Down and as a Rob Halford soundalike in the fantastic Judas Priest tribute band ”Metal Gods – Delivering the goods” (featuring ex Dark Funeral drummer Nils Dominator Fjellström). Professional studio and show singer since 2000.
With this new solid lineup, Jonas as the lead singer and new bass player Patrik Janson, Loch Vostok is entering a new era, with new energy. An era with new songs and possibilities. An era with epic three part harmonies between Jonas, Teddy and Niklas. The same kind of heavy songs, mixed with strong melodic parts as before. But with a stronger focus. More determination. And a live show to count on.
Among the members of Loch Vostok you will find musicians from a great number of active (and countless inactive) bands. Ranging from Carnal Forge, One Hour Hell and F.K.Ü, to The Murder of My Sweet, Manticora and Anima Morte (and many more).
