Swedish Melodic Black Metallers KVAEN have launched a lyric video for ‘Bestial Winter’ taken from their latest album ‘The Funeral Pyre’, out via Black Lion Records, watch the video below.
In late February, a sudden conflagration burst forth in Northern Sweden. That raging fire was the release of The Funeral Pyre, and it still burns hot and true. Kvaen is a new one-man project, with several guest musicians, that comes out of the gates full of vigor. Rooted in Swedish black metal, with speed and viking metal liberally sprinkled throughout, Kvaen is a force to be reckoned with. The riffing manages to combine white hot aggression with blistering melody, while the drumming is a runaway train set to explode. The vocals channel the hatred of trve black metal, while still providing a varied performance. With good reason, The Funeral Pyre has been mentioned in early Album of the Year discussions. Swedish-American power metal supergroup NORTHTALE – who entered the studio last week to record their new album – have tapped the producer DENNIS WARD (Pink Cream 69, Angra, Unisonic, Gus G, Adagio, Helloween and much, much more) to produce the bands as of yet untitled upcoming album! Earlier this year, the band parted ways with singer Christian Eriksson (ex-TWILIGHT FORCE) and has recently hired his replacement, although his name is still to be announced. The new album is expected to be released in the first half of 2021 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Los Angeles-based guitarist/songwriter Bill Hudson (NORTHTALE, I AM MORBID, former DIRKSCHNEIDER, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, Circle II Circle, Jon Oliva’s Pain and more) has become a very sought after name in the hard rock world in recent years. Whether he is in Germany headlining the biggest heavy metal festival in the world or in the studio recording guitars for a video game soundtrack, there’s never a dull moment in the life of the Brazilian musician. In the summer of 2015, he made history in Germany, headlining Wacken Open Air, performing in front of 80,000 fans with the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA. Hudson joined the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA also for their winter tour in 2015, performing 52 shows in 6 weeks throughout the US and Canada for an average of 15,000 fans a day. From April 2017 to April 2018 Bill Hudson made part of the DIRKSCHNEIDER line-up, touring widely both America and Europe. Nine years after 2011’s “Night Keeper”, Italian metallers SCREAMING SHADOWS are working on the release of their next album. The previous album involved several musicians from the Italian scene such as Mattia Stancioiu (ex Labyrinth / Vision Divine), Alessandro Del Vecchio (Jorn), Gianluigi Girardi (Crown of Autumn) and Pier Gonella (Mastercastle).
The band announced: “With great pleasure we announce that, 9 years after the previous Night keeper, there will be a new Screaming Shadows’s album! It will contain 10 new songs that will make all fans of the band happy, this time there will be Alessandro Marras on vocals!”
Alessandro Marras, from Sardinia, has been noted for his work with the Iron Maiden’s tribute band Virgin Killer. It is not yet decided which record company the new work will be released for, the band claims to be in talks with some labels that are interested in releasing it.
The new album is entirely produced by guitarist Francesco Marras (recently become a member of the British band Tygers of Pan Tang) who is now mixing it in his studio. The songwriting is influenced by big names in classic metal such as Iron Maiden and Queensrÿche and will feature 10 new songs.
New All-Stars melodic death metal band ACT OF DENIAL– feat. by lead guitarist and songwriter Voi Cox (Koziak, Victim), guitarist and lyricist Luger (Benighted, Koziak), vocalist Bjorn Speed Strid (Soilwork), bassist Steve Di Giorgio (Death, Testament), drummer Krimh (Septicflesh) and keyboardist John Lönnmyr (The Night Flight Orchestra) – have released their third single ‘Down That Line’, now available on Bandcamp, Hearnow, Cd baby, Spotify, Youtube and iTunes. The song is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album ‘Negative’.

The band stated: “We are proud to release our 3rd and new single “Down That Line” and this time in full band line-up. All band members contributed to this video recording in their home studios. Guitarist/lyricist Luger on the debut album ‘Negative’: “The finished songs are already in the process of mixing in Fredman studio. Me and Voi decided not to focus on one genre so there will be tunes for every metal fan. We’re doing this mostly for ourselves and the songs we write are the songs we love to listen at home, hoping they will reach also to other people, as to ourselves.”
Lead guitarist/songwriter Voi Cox adds: “We were always influenced by swedish style and sound when we were kids that’s why it is a big honor to us to have Bjorn from Soilwork on this album, also Fredrik Nordström from Fredman Studio who basically invented that sound. We grew up listening to Soilwork, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames and ofc Death, and that’s why we’re so excited that Steve is in this project, too. So we are very much influenced by those bands but that doesn’t mean that our songs will sound like that and you will hear all that in our debut album.”

ANDRY LAGIOU Andry is a versatile artist. She started music when she was 9 years old singing all alone. At 13 she perfromed on stage with various musicians. Now she is a member of Mike LePond’s Silent Assasins.The album has been released on January 26 th from Frontiers Records.
In September of 2017 she joined The Voice of Greece where and it was really a blast.statistics show that more than 1.500.000 saw the videos on youtube of the auditions ,and not to mention the 5 huge countries on live tv.Andry played with many famous musicians in Greece such as Christofors Krokidis and Thanasis Tsaouselis and did covers with well known youtubers.The Harps is her main project and arrangment.
THE HARPS was founded by the band’s lead singer, Andry Lagiou, in Athens, Greece, somewhere in 2012, when they started performing mainly her own compositions and arrangements. ”LOVE STRIKES DOVES” could be described as being hard rock driven, featuring ear-catching guitar riffs, bringing along some of Andry’s classical music influences, making that way the perfect marriage, between notes of an ancient time, and the sounds of today.
Harps’ debut album is openly referred to those who can stand tall, becoming a “Wireflame”, to face the difficulties of a “Lovecirlce”.Those who can think under a “Bloody Sun” making themselves “Immortal Soldiers”, as they’re thickening up their skin, whilst they are so “Vulnerably in Love”.
In 2014 She got to know better the bassist of Symphony X Mike Lepond.Mike asked her if she needed a bassist her answer was yes.In 2019 still with Mike on the Bass she formed the band with Corvin Bahn (Uli John Roth) on Keys, Stephen Platt on the Guitar and Mike Exeter (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Dio) on the mix. Next album is called ”SKIES” and promo track is already uploaded on youtube.
