JACK SLAMER Release Lyric Video For Second Single ‘Lost’

Swiss rockers JACK SLAMER recently announced, that their upcoming album “Keep Your Love Loud” will be released on November 27th via Nuclear Blast. Today, they unveil a lyric video for their second single ‘Lost’.

Relationships are complicated and their true meanings oftentimes not immediately clear. On the one hand they can give us a sense of strength and serenity we never thought possible. On the other hand, they can take it all away and leave us with a painful void we will need to work hard to fill again. Both sides can be extreme and both sides are talked about in JACK SLAMER’s second single ‘Lost’. While the verses transport a sense of suffering, the chorus digs deeper and celebrates a sea of sunlight at the end of the tunnel.

Following February’s anti-Valentine’s Day single “Circle The Drain,” which has racked up millions of streams and cracked the Top 50 at radio,  MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn has released a poignant acoustic version of the song today with Nuclear Blast.

“When the pandemic hit in March, and all Machine Head tours got canceled, I started doing free Acoustic Happy Hour shows on Machine Head‘s Facebook page to get out the pent-up energy, entertain some friends, have some laughs, and have a few drinks every Friday,” Flynn explains. “As we had just released our new song “Circle The Drain” fans started asking for me to play it, so I started messing around with it and came up with a re-imagined version of it. It got a phenomenal response… People genuinely loved it, and were continually asking me to release it, and so I recorded it a few weeks back in my home studio, and here it is.”

Originally released in February 2020, the anti-Valentine’s Day song, “Circle The Drain,” was inspired by Flynn’s friend who served in Afghanistan and returned home only to find his relationship with his partner falling to pieces.

Flynn stated after the original was released, “She had messed around on him, then got paranoid about him messing around on her, and drove him crazy. We had a conversation on Valentine’s Day and he said to me, ‘They were just circling the drain…’ The phrase struck me. A few days later, I incorporated it into the song I’d been working on.”

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Flynn and MACHINE HEAD have been outspoken and unstoppable, cranking out vital music for the tumultuous times. The band’s recent single “Stop The Bleeding,“ which features guest vocals from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman, Jesse Leach, was written and recorded just days after the murders of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery. Their followup, “Bulletproof,” rounding out the digital single “Civil Unrest,” “Bulletproof” is a clear, defiant statement about the country’s disgraceful climate of corruption, injustice, racism and inequality that has risen during the current administration.

NEONFLY have released to YouTube an acoustic cover of Edguy’s classic power ballad “Save Me” from their 2006 album “Rocket Ride”. The song, with an accompanying self-shot and self-edited video, is part of an ongoing series of fan-picked acoustic covers that Neonfly recorded earlier this year during the COVID-19 lockdown in London.

The covers were picked by fans last year as part of a highly successful crowdfunding campaign that Neonfly organised, that has financed their upcoming 3rd album, ‘The Future Tonight’ with Grammy-Award nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda (Motorhead, Bring Me The Horizon, Funeral for a Friend) and Miro Rodenberg (Avantasia) on keys and orchestral arrangements.

Details about the album release will be revealed soon. In the meantime, fans can enjoy a new acoustic cover weekly on Thursdays, including this week’s cover of Edguy. Other artists that Neonfly has covered so far include: Marillion, Joe Cocker and Threshold. The list of yet to-be-released songs is truly varied and eclectic and the band have placed their distinctive stamp on all of them. With some really unexpected choices long-time fans, and others new to Neonfly, are sure to be intrigued & entertained until the release of the new album.
