WHITE VOID Sign With Nuclear Blast Records, Debut Album Out March 12th 2021

Eclectic Norwegian hard rock band WHITE VOID have signed a world wide deal with NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. Their debut album, “Anti“, is set to be released on March 12, 2021.

WHITE VOID is the new brain child of Lars Are Nedland (BORKNAGAR, SOLEFALD) who comments as follows:

“Life is absurd, which means that sometimes strange coincidences occur. Like the fact that the paths of WHITE VOID and NUCLEAR BLAST crossed at the perfect time within the strange year that is 2020. I’m stoked to be working with the world’s biggest and most renowned hard rock and metal label on getting WHITE VOID into the ears and minds of music lovers all around the globe, and I’m confident that this will be a prolific endeavor for everyone involved. We have some pretty special tricks up our sleeves when it comes to this whole enterprise, so step over the event horizon and get drawn into the Void. You’re in for a ride!”

Jens Prueter, Head Of A&R for NUCLEAR BLAST EUROPE, adds: “Lars Nedland has always surprised me ever since he formed SOLEFALD and joined BORKNAGAR a few years later. A free musical mind with a great sense of songwriting. And I was even more surprised when I heard the first WHITE VOID mixes. Haven’t expected a modern version of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT with a twist of NEW MODEL ARMY – combined with Albert Camus’ philosophy of absurdism. In case that sounds a bit too heavy, we could also joke about Douglas Adams’ “Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything”: it’s 42. Very happy to join Lars and his bandmates on their journey through the void. A void that is perfectly filled with some of the best songs I have heard this year”

Here’s a teaser for WHITE VOID’s upcoming debut album, “Anti”:

WHITE VOID is absence of direction and sense in life. It’s a description of the fundamental disharmony between the individual’s search for meaning and the meaninglessness of the universe.Eclectic hard rockers WHITE VOID are a curious bunch. Forged in the space between the occult rock of the seventies, the no-excuses-hard rock of the eighties and the British New Wave movement, they balance on the event horizon that separates old from new. Aggression from melody. Dream from drive.

Add to that the fact that the bandmembers of WHITE VOID have their backgrounds in Norwegian black metal, chiptune electronica, pop music and blues, and you’ll see why “Anti” is an album that’s hard to pin down. It’s darkly melodic, it’s driven, and it’s infused with earworms, hooks and licks. Boasting a shameless attitude, though, it comes forth as deeply true to the core of our shared hard rock heritage.

In the center of WHITE VOID stands Lars Are Nedland, long time member of BORKNAGAR and SOLEFALD. Leading a team of musicians including Tobias Solbakk of IHSAHN fame, electronica staple Vegard Kummen and blues rock virtuoso Eivind Marum, he navigates the waters of hard rock riffs, new wave harmonies and blues rock solos with determination and elegance.

Still, “Anti” probably doesn’t sound like you think. It’s an album riddled with contrasts and references, musically as well as philosophically. The concept is based on Albert Camus’ Absurdism and deals with how you cope with an existence that is in its core absurd. Musically it draws on the past while forging towards the future. And the result? Well, enter the Void to find out!

GRORR Release New Video For “Orang Lao”

GRORR have released a new video for the song “Orang Lao” taken from the new ep “II”. This is the first new music from the band since the critical acclaimed “The Unknown Citizens”, that was released back in 2014!

Listen to the ep at Bandcamp: Music | ViciSolum Records (bandcamp.com)

Grorr was created in 2005 in Pau (France). Its music mixes progressive/math/rock/metal featuring the use of traditional instruments from all around the world, all crafted within concept albums. Grorr surprises and gathers both organic and powerful music imprinted with various atmospheres.

Since the beginning, it has always been essential for the band to tell social fables. Grorr gives shape to these stories and creates its albums according to storyboards, which are made as the first step. After releasing Anthill in 2012, the band signed with Swedish label ViciSolum Productions for The Unknown Citizens out in 2014. Both albums were very well received by the critics, French and international alike and were nominated in many «Best Album » categories, so were their stop-motion video clips in animated film festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand. The band released a full-concert live show in 2016 that marked a turning point for the line up as the leading singer left the project letting a new member join the family in his stead. This change was inaugurated during Metal Oper’Art 2017 festival in Strasbourg, which took place in the National Opera and live streamed on Arte Concert.

In 2021, Grorr makes a big comeback with the full-length album with the titel ” Ddulden’s Last Flight”. A new concept album paying homage to the classics of adventure movies’ original soundtracks.

Dark Essence Records have unleashed “The Name Of The Night Is A Strong Tower”, a devastating new single and video taken from the upcoming album from Norwegian Black Metallers ENDEZZMA.  The album itself,  titled  “The Archer, Fjord and the Thunder”, will be the band’s third full-length to date, and will launch the label’s 2021 releases.

“The Name Of The Night Is A Strong Tower” can be streamed or downloaded at this location.

The video for “The Name Of The Night Is A Strong Tower” can be seen below.

Here is what the band have to say about the track:

With The Name Of The Night Is A Strong Tower, we open the tunnels to The Archer’s mythical universe and oppressive landscape. As we let the philosophical perception of death collide with the sight of a grand epic awakening.

Who are we and what do we chase and hunt for if not a greater, intense progress of our burning idol known as death? Or, The Archer when he, upon his arrival announces: The Name Of The Night Is A Strong Tower.

ENDEZZMA was formed in 2006 by frontman M. Shax,  and the band’s  current lineup includes a plethora of talented and experienced musicans.  Together,  M. Shax  on vocals, M. Malphas on guitars, Nihil on Rythm Guitar,  Skriu on  Drums and Aske on bass, demonstrate a  brand of brutal, fiercely intense, and yet aesthetically mystical approach to their music.

“The Archer, Fjord and the Thunder”, was recorded at the Vika Studio and the Malpherno Studio in Norway, and was mixed and mastered by Tore Stjerna at the Necromorbus Studio in Stockholm. With it, ENDEZZMA have taken a huge step forward in their song writing, and produced an album that bridges the gap between dark anthems and primitive aggression.

The cover art for “The Archer, Fjord and the Thunder” is by Stefan Todorovic/Kahos Diktator Design, and the tracklisting is as follows:

  1. The Awakening
  2. The Name of the Night is a Strong Tower
  3. Anomalious Abomination
  4. The Archer, Fjord and the Thunder
  5. Formless and Void
  6. Garden ov Heathen
  7. Wild Glorior Death

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal “Torture” Music Video (Episode 5) From ‘Glare of Deliverance’ Video Series

Symphonic death metal masters GENUS ORDINIS DEI have just released their long-awaited full-length concept album entitled Glare Of Deliverance which tells the epic story of Eleanor, a young woman persecuted for crimes of witchcraft by the Holy Inquisition. To coincide with the release of the album, the band have just revealed Episode 5 of the video series entitled “Torture”, watch it now via YouTube:

Glare of Deliverance is much more than a simple concept album however… It is a series of ten individual songs, each with its own music video/episode. These “episodes” combine in sequence like a short film or television series that bring the story of Eleanor to life. The video series brings the concept art of Tom Roberts (Ghost) to life and may even give you nightmares! The horror-esque storyline leaves you feeling helpless, unable to save Eleanor from her corrupt accusers while the music engulfs you in her struggle to survive. Watch the first five episodes RIGHT NOW via the official series playlist at this location and stay tuned for the remaining five episodes throughout the first half of 2021.

Without a doubt, Glare Of Deliverance has been the band’s most ambitious undertaking yet, because the scope and vision of the project had grown monumentally huge in comparison to their previous projects. Aside from recording & producing an album worthy of a Grammy in the metal category, the band had to pull together a full production team for the ten-episode video series which consisted of concept artist Tom Roberts (Ghost), costume designers, animal trainers, a cast of actors & actresses, visual effects supervisors, special effects wizards, stuntmen, catering services, and even a full orchestral choir. Fortunately, the band’s fans contributed to a successful crowdfunding campaign which raised an additional $15,000 USD to finance the additional video episodes, as well as some amazing perks for supporters.

In episode 5 “Torture”, the story of Eleanor continues with her imprisonment at The Citadel. The truth must be revealed at any cost. Iron will extract it from Eleanor, pain will expose her lies, and fire will reveal her true nature because The Cross will not be satisfied until it finds the truth! Watch the new “Torture” music video / Episode 5 from Glare Of Deliverance at this location.

“I was excited to act the role of The Torturer, but also afraid of hurting Emilia Fanetti (who plays Eleanor) so I had to be real careful” says bassist Steven Olda. “We were using red strobe lights to create a hypnotic effect and terrifying atmosphere of the torture scene. This made it difficult at times to see what I was doing, but it all came out so intense, and it worked very well.” Guitarist Tommaso Monticelli adds, “We shot this episode in the medieval dining room of Malpaga Castle. The ambiance of little natural lighting was perfect for the red strobe lighting, but we had to be careful moving around because the walls were painted with original frescos from the fifteenth century. In this episode you can see how intense Emilia’s acting is. She was screaming like she was being tortured for real, and that was scary for us. The keeper of the castle was with us all day to make sure nothing was damaged, but she had to stay out of the room because we needed full dark, and she must have been asking herself ‘what the hell is going on in that room’ while we were filming that scene.”

Glare of Deliverance is the band’s third full-length album, and it was produced by guitarist Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at Sonitus Studio. It features ten tracks of powerful, soaring symphonic metal that will leave you amazed, both sonically and visually. Glare of Deliverance full-length album was released on December 4, 2020 via Eclipse Records.
