Greek INPHAZE to Release New Album “Back Again” on October 30th

Formed in Athens, Greece, in 2011, InPhaze established their heavy footprint in the underground scene with their 2018 debut ‘World of Lies’, blending hard rock grit with heavy metal power. However, the years that followed became a brutal, unforgiving crucible of personal transformation.

Re-emerging in 2026, InPhaze is more than a power metal project; it is an unyielding testament to human endurance. Built upon the ruins of deep personal upheaval—from a devastating, grueling battle with cancer and intense medical treatments, to the emotional wreckage of divorce and catastrophic family loss—InPhaze transforms real-world pain into high-velocity melodic metal.

Musically, the band bridges the technical brilliance, soaring hooks, and speed of Traditional Power Metal with razor-sharp, modern production standards. Lyrically, they strip away the typical fantasy tropes of the genre to reveal a raw, modern reality. Engineered under the co-production of industry veteran Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind), driven by the powerhouse vocals of Andre Boutos, and meticulously mixed and mastered by founding guitarist Ilias Gogakis at Vowlume Productions, ‘Back Again’ represents a soul in phase with its own truth.

Each track serves as a milestone in a survivor’s journey, proving that through the most violent storms, we don’t just survive—we emerge redefined, re-aligned, and stronger.

Pre-Order ‘Back Again’ Secure Exclusive Merch on Indiegogo August 10, 2026 – September 6, 2026 – PRE-ORDER HERE

This is Power Metal with a heartbeat, a soul, and a message: Strength is forged in the fire of reality.

Thrash metal legends FLOTSAM AND JETSAM are gearing up for the release of their Napalm Records debut record, Rats in the Temple, out this Friday. Today, they offer fans the third and final glimpse of the flames broiling within. “The Edge of Nowhere” builds suspense with eastern scales before firing listeners out of a gun, full throttle through thrash metal excellence. Churning like magma beneath the Earth, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have only been growing more and more fiery with time, and Rats in the Temple see the band exploding to the surface in a magnificent and awestriking blaze.

Frontman Eric A.K. Knutson says about the track:
“‘The Edge of Nowhere’ is about knowing when to dig your heels into the ground and hold the line. We wanted to write a track that made people feel strong when things get tough. Always speak your mind. Even if 9 times out of 10, it takes you nowhere. You never know when you’ll get that 1 time that pushes you through.”

Thrash metal icons FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, known for their trailblazing blend of blistering thrash and soaring power metal—established on breakthrough records like the Kerrang! championed classic Doomsday for the Deceiver, (1986), No Place for Disgrace, (1988), and Cuatro, (1992) and refined in their current renaissance with the German chart climbing The End of Chaos, (2019), Blood in the Water, (2021), and I Am the Weapon, (2024)—are back with their newest diamond, and Napalm Records debut, Rats in the Temple, out August 28, 2026. With nearly four decades on the scene, countless world tours, and appearances at prestigious festivals like Wacken, Graspop, Bloodstock, Alcatraz, and Rockhard, they’ve carved their sound down to a fine point, piercing listeners with earth-shattering blast beats, scorching guitars, epic string arrangements, and exalted frontman A.K. Knutson’s unmistakably haunting wail.

Frontman Eric A.K. Knutson about the album:
“This record is a BEAST, truly our best effort to date!! Do yourself a favor. Dim the lights, grab a drink, put the headphones on, and crank this up. You will not be sorry you did!!!”

Rats in the Temple opens strong with the stadium-ready hooks and dizzyingly precise performances of “Harvesting The Hate” and “Damnation”, before delving into thrash virtuosity on “Absolution”. The iconic guitar duo of Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley paint vividly ghoulish images on tracks like “Blame The Knife” and “Rats In the Temple”, then continue to flex their metal muscle on “The Ghost Behind My Door” and “First on the Spike”, invoking pure first-wave excellence with a pummeling modern menace. “The Edge of Nowhere” builds inescapable suspense before firing listeners out of a gun, full throttle into “Last Rites”, another standout track for the band. The legendary rhythm duo of drummer Ken Mary and bassist Bill Bodily take center stage on the anti-war anthem “A Taste For War”, their methodical syncopation invoking images of tanks and boots on the ground. “Her Blood Your Pain” brings ornate, medieval guitarmonies before “Anthem For The Broken” goes full balls to the wall, and “Going Down That Way” hits listeners with heavy riffs and even heavier truths. Rats in the Temple remains enthralling throughout, giving listeners entry to numerous of the band’s metal chambers, sampling a refined and eclectic serving of influences.

Churning like magma beneath the Earth, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have only been growing more and more fiery with time, and Rats in the Temple sees the band exploding to the surface in a magnificent and awe-inspiring blaze. For fans new and longstanding, you cannot escape them; they’re through the walls.

FROZEN CROWN Release New Single ‘Who Wants to Burn in Heaven’ with Music Video

FROZEN CROWN determine the direction of their new narrative approach with their new single, “Who Wants to Burn in Heaven”. “Who wants to burn in Heaven if you can rule forever down in Hell?” the choir-powered, groovy song exclaims, illustrating the Italian band’s new-found darkness. A heavy metal riff turns into an epic melody, with a powerful vocal delivery by both Giada “Jade” Etro and Federico Mondelli following. The accompanying album, The Legend of the Six Kings, releases October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records.

Giada “Jade” Etro about “Who Wants to Burn in Heaven”:
“‘Who Wants To Burn In Heaven’ is the natural follow-up to ‘I Am The Tyrant’, one of our most popular and beloved songs, with its driving martial pace and the singalong emotional chorus. The song is a statement of uniqueness and freedom. Better to stand as a king among outsiders (the misunderstood, the unconventional, the beautifully imperfect) than to beg for a place among those who worship conformity and call it perfection. Their Heaven may look flawless from the outside, but it will punish and make you burn if you try to shine with your own light.”

The legend starts: FROZEN CROWN head into their very own age of gold with The Legend of the Six Kings, coming October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records. Taking a more narrative approach than previous releases, their sixth album sends the Italian band on an epic quest. The ten brand-new heavy power metal tracks expand their dynamic repertoire into a slightly darker, but nevertheless illustrious, direction. With lead vocalist Giada “Jade” Etro changing her formerly cheerful approach to claim the sinister titular frozen crown, the band shows its true form with this straightforward punch of a record.

The Legend of the Six Kings has FROZEN CROWN take the throne deserving of their band name. A powerful work of rousing heavy power metal and massive vocal arrangements, the six-piece delivers a glorious performance filled with energetic melodies and catchy choruses. The Legend of the Six Kings matures the band’s trademark sound and makes sure that these six kings and queens will remain what the title states: legends. The album is open for pre-order now—find various formats below.

FROZEN CROWN about The Legend of the Six Kings:
“With our sixth album—our second on Napalm Records—we continue our search for the quintessential FROZEN CROWN tune, distilling the key elements of our sound and style into increasingly concise and straightforward songs, stripping away all unnecessary frills.
The Legend of the Six Kings draws directly from our debut album The Fallen King, continuing the saga of the Kings and the Tyrant, as we are—thanks to a brilliant newly extended team—finally able to do justice to what we had in mind with the original concept of the band. The visionary genius of Raoul Noise (the video maker behind all our new videos and band photos), the masterful craftsmanship of Daria Gislon (who designed and built the throne and the literal ‘frozen crown’) and of course the outstanding artistic talent of Sheila Franco (who hand painted our album cover art) gave life to the vibrant, obscure, frozen world we had in mind since the very beginning of the band, somewhere between J. R. R. Tolkien’s harmonious and regal aesthetics and Robert E. Howard’s brutality.
The Legend of the Six Kings brings not only new visuals, but also an empowered sound, with the young war hearts getting older on the battlefield and becoming an increasingly leading force of the Crown (with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Niso Tomasini becoming a more integral part of the songwriting together with singer Giada ‘Jade’ Etro and mastermind Federico Mondelli) and new warriors joining our ranks (Aleksandra Stamenkovic and her scorching, old school, abrasive guitar leads).
This sixth album depicts the strength of our six band members, and our personal idea of Power Metal infused in ten catchy tracks touching the most varied nuances of the genre, from raw and uncompromising Speed Metal, to the sumptuous magniloquence of Symphonic Metal, to the occasional linear chaos of Melodic Death Metal, but always sounding as FROZEN CROWN as ever!”

The speedy opener “Lightning in the Sky” situates the band on a battlefield, swords shining bright and fire in their eyes, setting the theme for the rest of the album on which FROZEN CROWN deal blow after winning blow. “Who Wants to Burn in Heaven” determines the direction the band takes with their campaign: the choir-powered, groovy song illustrates Hell as the realm of their eternal rule, calling on their legions to join in on their chants live. The following epos, “Reborn”, is a powerful anthem of steadfastness as well as a bolstering tale about team spirit. “The One” continues the theme of The Legend of the Six Kings being inspired by Tolkien’s masterpiece “The Lord of the Rings”, wrapping the band in mysterious darkness with sweeping songs shining bright. Here, FROZEN CROWN also show magnificent instrumental abilities through a majestic guitar solo where the three guitars intertwine, beautifully harmonizing together.  Going extra catchy, the Italian band slides in a cover of “Iris”: originally by American alternative rock band Goo Goo Dolls, this 1998 track became an international superhit. FROZEN CROWN take its power and make it power metal, covering the entire spectrum from waltz-time ballad to high-speed drums and vocals full of pathos. “I just want you to know who I am” should be a given thing hereafter! “Winter Hearts” contrasts this venture into the mainstream instantly with easily recognizable heavy riffs to start, growls to hammer in the message, and a chantable chorus to close the deal—a grand track, reminiscent of the band’s classic songs from their 2018 debut, The Fallen King. The epic storytelling continues throughout melancholic “River of Time” and assertive “Through the Fire”, singalong potential included. “To the Stars” gifts The Legend of the Six Kings additional live character before the title track, “The Legend of the Six Kings”, rises to full glory. Nearing epic melodic death metal in its growled verses, the song is another duet between Jade and guitarist Federico Mondelli, who adds fierce growls and clean vocals.

Multi-Instrumentalist DIKAJEE Releases New Single & Video ‘Home of the Wind’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 26, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DIKAJEE. Leave a comment

The hauntingly brilliant multi-instrumentalist Dikajee has previously announced her brand new album The Frame, which will be out on 6th November. Dikajee is now releasing the second new single ‘Home of the Wind’, featuring Vikram Shankar (Within Temptation, Lux Terminus) on keys and Avandra on guitars and drums.

Pre-order The Frame here: https://dikajee.bandcamp.com

A personal comment from mastermind Dikajee on the video: “This song is about how the most terrible and most wonderful things can happen at the same time and your happiness can be bittersweet. I always wanted to go live in the UK – but I’ve never thought that I’ll be moving during the war; and having to separate with my family that was going through grief after the loss of my father. But at the same time it’s about not letting fear and grief make my decisions for me. I still want to follow my dreams and make art and I want to follow my music, not fear and depression. It’s very hard, but regretting would probably hit harder. The alternative name for the song is ‘black wings’ cause I feel like I’m flying to my dream on black wings now.“

Singer-songwriter Dikajee has captivated audiences on stages around the world, sharing lineups with acclaimed artists across the progressive, folk, and metal scenes.

In 2021, Dikajee released her critically acclaimed album Forget~Me~Nots, showcasing an intricate blend of folk, neo-baroque, neoclassical, and progressive rock. The album features guest appearances from Fiona Rüggeberg (flutes, bagpipes; FAUN), Guillaume Bernard (guitars; KLONE), and Artis Orubs (drums; Erik Truffaz), and received widespread praise from music publications across Europe, the UK, and the USA. Her achievements include being voted #1 Best New Artist of the Year in the Prog Readers Poll (2025), #4 Vocalist of the Year in the Prog Readers Poll (2021), while her single ‘Lily Of The Valley’ was featured on The Best of Metal Hammer 2021 compilation.

Her voice is incredibly versatile, allowing her to move effortlessly between genres and styles. From classical operatic vocals to extreme metal and everything in between, Dikajee‘s exceptional range, virtuoso vocal dynamics, and refined technique make her one of those rare singers capable of excelling across an extraordinary breadth of vocal styles. In 2023, the Russian-born artist was granted a UK Global Talent Visa and relocated from Saint Petersburg to the United Kingdom, where she rebuilt her band with a brand-new lineup.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Dikajee is set to release her second full-length album, The Frame, on 6th November 2026. The album features an international lineup of guest musicians including Jonathan Noyce (Archive, Jethro Tull), Varijashree Venugopal (Snarky Puppy), German Vergara (Aisles), Guillaume Bernard (KLONE), Christian Ayala (Avandra), Vikram Shankar (Pain of Salvation, Charlotte Wessels, Within Temptation, Lux Terminus), and many more.

Both of Dikajee‘s albums showcase her distinctive blend of progressive rock, folk, classical music, and metal, highlighting her adventurous songwriting and fearless musical vision.

Italian Architects of Esoteric Extreme Metal URNA Announce New Album “The Great Jihad”, Out October 16th

Posted by metalshockfinland on August 26, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: URNA. Leave a comment

Italian architects of esoteric extreme metal URNA will release their new album, “The Great Jihad”, on October 16th, 2026 via ATMF, the label that has supported the band since their landmark full-length “Sepulcrum”.

The first single “Second of Three” is streaming HERE.

More poisonous and tense than its predecessors, “The Great Jihad” retains the crushing atmosphere and funeral doom connection that have long defined URNA, while pushing their faster passages towards a harsher, more abrasive form of black metal. Amid the weight and aggression, vast, sideral melodies emerge from the darkness, adding a solemn dimension to an album steeped in occult and esoteric atmospheres. The result is a work that feels both familiar and renewed, balancing oppressive density with moments of stark, otherworldly beauty.

For the first time, URNA present an album with lyrics entirely in English. With the exception of their 2003 debut “Justa Funebria”, originally performed in Italian, the band’s releases have traditionally employed Latin. The conceptual framework once again expands RM‘s personal spiritual journey through Hermetism, approaching the notion of duality from an esoteric perspective and exploring its many manifestations.

“The Great Jihad” also introduces new collaborators to the lineup, with Sibilans (Anamnesi, Simulacro) on drums and T (Sangue Nero) on bass. The album was recorded through multiple sessions between 2014 and 2025, across Italy and the United Kingdom, before being mixed and mastered at MZ’s 322 Studio in early 2026. The artwork was created by Francesco Gemelli.

Tracklist:

Active in the extreme metal underground for more than two decades, URNA emerged in 2003 with “Justa Funebria” before attracting the attention of ATMF, which released “Sepulcrum” as its first label release. Their sound soon expanded from abrasive black metal into funeral doom, electronics and increasingly esoteric atmospheres. “Iter ad Lucem” (2009) and “Mors Principium Est” (2013) further developed this uncompromising vision, with the latter closing a cycle that had begun with their debut.

Early demos for “The Great Jihad” were already taking shape after “Mors Principium Est”, but the project subsequently entered a prolonged hiatus. Recording resumed years later before the pandemic forced another interruption. In 2025, URNA finally completed the album, bringing a journey that began more than a decade ago to its intended conclusion.

Much has changed since 2003. URNA have not.

Line-up:

MZ – Guitars, Synths
RM – Vocals
Sibilans – Drums
T – Bass

LEONARD GRAVES Spills All in Thrilling Autobiography “The Dickies And Me”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 26, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LEONARD GRAVES, Leonard Graves Phillips. Leave a comment

Leonard Graves Phillips, co-founder and lifelong member of Californian punk icons The Dickies, is poised to reveal all about his 50 year career with the band, in a hefty, high-quality hardback autobiography.

Published on August 21, The Dickies And Me comprises some 50 chapters spread across 230+ pages, all packed with the extreme ups and down of one of the longest-running punk bands in existence ,as well as stories from Leonard’s turbulent life.

A riot of absurdist humor and thoughtful reflection, the story is accompanied by a host of incredible behind-the-scenes photos, and cartoon illustrations by the brilliant KRK Ryden who has collaborated with Devo and others.

It is half a century since Leonard, his friends Bob “Chuck Wagon” Davis and guitarist Stan Lee, plus bassist Billy Club and drummer Karlos Kaballero, first emerged as The Dickies – and swiftly became the first California punk band to appear on network TV and score a major record deal.

A lot of musicians, deals and music have passed through the ranks since those frenetic beginnings, but still The Dickies remain true to their original ideals, a breakneck good-times punk band that is as comfortable maiming rock’n’roll’s most sacred cows as it is quick firing out its own wild compositions.

Such recent singles as “ Gary Glitter Getaway,” “I Dig Go-Go Girls,” and last year’s blistered take on the David Cassidy smash “Cherish” are as resoundingly classic Dickies fare as any of the hits from their earliest years – “Nights In White Satin,” “Gigantor,, “Paranoid,” “Banana Splits.”

For 50 years, too, The Dickies’ influence upon the American punk scene has proven incalculable, as they first defined and then regularly reinvented what the music meant.

Leonard says, “Writing in autobiographical terms is like shining a flashlight around a vast, darkened warehouse, landing on significant moments that lead one through the labyrinth.”

“Much of the focus is on the original band (of which Stan Lee and I are the remaining members), its formation, and our halcyon days with A&M Records, especially in England.” However, it reaches out from there, he acknowledges, to chronicle “my life before, during, and (metaphysically speaking) after The Dickies.”

He writes of the music that inspired him to follow this course, recalling the first time he ever heard The Ramones (“on a local radio station in Los Angeles”), their “Blitzkrieg Bop” anthem scything through the airwaves as he and a friend were out driving.

The Dickies themselves were already up and running, although Leonard’s original intention was to lead a prog rock band. That changed as bands like The Quick and the UK’s visiting The Damned followed The Ramones into his heart.  Then, as the local scene began embracing a sound that was as far from the American mainstream as it was possible to travel, so The Dickies pushed themselves to the front of the queue.

Even their first manager, John Hewlett – former bassist with English freakbeat heroes John’s Children – was checking out another band entirely the night he first saw The Dickies, but by the end of their set, he knew his evening was complete.

“From the moment I saw The Dickies, I thought they were great, they were everything I’ve ever looked for in a band. To me, they were what Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are to films, putting everything in and getting the most out again.”  Anybody familiar with John’s Children’s own music and legend will recognize that as high praise indeed.

As for The Dickies’ legacy, Stan is unequivocal in his awareness of what the band means.   “The Dickies were spawned as a direct answer to what punk rock was in 1977. Our influences were such bands as The Ramones, The Damned, and even the Buzzcocks. A common thread among us is that we were influenced by the ’60s and ’70s pop that came before us.

“In contrast, present-day punk bands draw mainly from a pre-existing punk well. Stan once said, “We’re a pop band masquerading as a punk band.” His statement has its merits, but it is not entirely true. We were and are a punk rock band in every respect. We just happen to be musical.”

And very, very entertaining!
