Dark folk/progressive entity RAKINUA are set to unveil their debut album “Esi Um Ninu – Heal Us, Mother” on May 29th, 2026 via Dusktone, marking the first chapter of an ambitious artistic vision rooted in myth, ritual and sonic exploration.

Emerging from a fertile intersection of sound and storytelling, RAKINUA stand as the convergence of two distinct creative forces: one driven by an insatiable urge toward musical expression, the other endowed with a rare gift for narrative architecture. Together, they have shaped a work that aspires not merely to be heard, but to be inhabited: a threshold into another world, where time dissolves and meaning is carved in ancient symbols.

Inspired by Alpine sacrificial sites that have borne witness to nearly three millennia of ritual practice, “Esi Um Ninu – Heal Us, Mother” unfolds as a concept album of rare depth and cohesion. Its narrative follows a priestess whose desperate attempts to appease increasingly wrathful gods ultimately condemn her tribe to ruin. This tragedy is revealed through the voice of an oracle, a liminal presence bridging past, present, and future: an eternal witness to a fate that cannot be undone.

Musically, RAKINUA traverse a wide and evocative spectrum. Their sound resonates with the ritualistic pulse of Heilung and Wardruna, the dark introspection of Myrkur, and the progressive depth of Opeth, Porcupine Tree, and Anathema. Yet these references serve only as distant constellations; “Esi Um Ninu – Heal Us, Mother” charts its own path, guided by an archaic, almost primordial spirit.

The album was produced by Fabio D’Amore (Serenity, Perchta) at Synonym Of Sound, with concept and lyrics crafted by Velis and Madame Noctinebra. Their work draws upon archaeological insight, a refined aesthetic sensibility, and the evocative power of a forgotten tongue intertwined with Raetic symbols. The result is a body of songs that feels both meticulously constructed and organically unearthed.

RAKINUA’s vision extends beyond the recorded form. Their ceremonial live manifestations – ranging from the electrifying Full Electric Tribe Ritual to the intimate Acoustic Tribe Ritual – translate the album’s essence into immersive, communal experiences. Each performance becomes an act of remembrance, a rekindling of something older than language itself.

With “Esi Um Ninu – Heal Us, Mother”, RAKINUA do not simply present a debut; they open a passage. It is an invitation to step into a narrative suspended between epochs, where the echo of forgotten rites still lingers—and where the future, though foreseen, may yet be resisted.

From “Fire Fire” emerge atmospheric synths, driving beats and highly melodic, intricate guitar leads. Francesco Cavalieri’s charismatic vocal delivery brings the anthem to life. Awash with memorable moments, the track’s choruses are infused with stunning hooks notably the catchy lyric, “light it on fire”. V.B.O.‘s heavier influences manifest across the song with technical guitar riffs playfully set amongst the electronics. Towards the end of the track, V.B.O. lean into their metal side as Cavalieri’s powerful harsh vocals inject a burst of aggressive textures into the mix.

US Funeral Doom Act SUTRATMA to Release Vinyl Edition of “Adrift” on May 15th

Aesthetic Death will release the vinyl edition of “Adrift”, the latest album by US funeral doom metal band SUTRATMA, on May 15, 2026.

Originally issued on CD in late 2025, “Adrift” now receives its long-awaited LP version, offering a fully realized physical counterpart to the band’s nautical-themed, melodic funeral doom opus. The album expands on SUTRATMA’s established sound, combining crushing weight and slow-burning atmospheres with a more pronounced sense of melody and dynamic depth.

Marking the band’s fifth full-length, “Adrift” also represents a period of transition and renewal within SUTRATMA’s ranks. The record introduces new members while refining the group’s compositional approach, particularly in its vocal arrangements and textural layering.

The band comments:

“‘Adrift’ is the 5th Sutratma album, and whilst somewhat of a transitional album for the band, everything with the album turned out remarkably well. Founding member Adi and longtime drummer Kevin Torres welcomed new members Danial Larios to take over growl vocals and second guitar, along with Dave Sanders for bass duties. On this record we started to incorporate more elements of clean singing to blend with the low growls we’ve used since our beginnings. With a stable line up and newly constructed studio, we got to writing and self recording in 2024 and 2025, with everyone contributing to both the music and lyrics. There was more attention on the vocal arrangements, with those elegant clean passages finding their way easily into songs, weaving between the heavy melodies, and dirge riffs. Adrift became a serene funeral doom album of texture and ethereal light – forming an album we hadn’t anticipated, but are very proud of.”

With its layered interplay between ethereal passages and monolithic heaviness, “Adrift” stands as a distinctive entry in the contemporary funeral doom landscape, balancing solemn intensity with an unexpected sense of openness and light.

Today, rock icon JOHN CORABI is proud to release his long-awaited solo debut, ‘New Day,’ out now via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate the release, JOHN also shares his new single “1969,” alongside an official music video, available below.

On the new track “1969,” JOHN comments:

“‘1969’ is a great song inspired by the current situations in America, which made me think of another turbulent time in the 60’s-70’s…The riff throughout is compliments of Stevie D (from Buckcherry) and inspired by one of my favorite bands Creedence Clearwater Revival.”

‘New Day’ marks JOHN CORABI’s first full-length solo album of original material. Recorded in Nashville during the summer of 2025 and produced by multi-platinum songwriter and producer Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Buckcherry), the album fuses classic ’70s rock, soul, and blues influences into a sound that feels both timeless and deeply personal.

The record features the previously released singles “Così Bella (So Beautiful)” (2021) and “Your Own Worst Enemy” (2022), now presented as part of a rich collection of tracks that spotlight his commanding vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and masterful songwriting. Throughout the album, CORABI is joined by Marti Frederiksen, who adds backing vocals, guitars, piano, and percussion; Evan Frederiksen on drums, bass, B3 organ, electric guitar, mandolin, and programming; Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses) on lead guitar; Paul Taylor (Winger, Steve Perry) contributing piano, organ, and clavinet, as well as Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke) offering guitar solos. Together, they create an organic, instrument-driven sound built on real performances, melodic interplay, and soulful energy.

More than just a solo debut, ‘New Day’ serves as CORABI’s personal testament to rock’s enduring spirit—an exploration of melody, soul, and authenticity, played with passion and conviction at every turn.
