Cinematic symphonic metal collective CATALYST CRIME unveil the official video for “Acquired Immunity”, bringing a striking visual dimension to one of their most intense and genre-defying tracks to date.

“Acquired Immunity” marks a turning point in the band’s evolving sound, showcasing a heavier, more aggressive and experimental direction.

STREAM THE SONG HERE: https://save-it.cc/massacre/acquired-immunity

Driven by the complementary compositional forces of guitarist Kaelen Sarakinis and keyboardist Jonah Weingarten, the track stands as one of CATALYST CRIME’s most powerful statements so far.

Blistering melodeath-infused verses collide with cinematic orchestration and soaring vocal lines, while a scorching guest guitar solo by Marek “Ashok” Šmerda (ex-Cradle of Filth, ex-Root) elevates the song into epic territory.

Frontwoman Zoe Marie Federoff describes “Acquired Immunity” as a defining moment for the band – a bold step into deeper complexity while fully embracing their identity as cinematic metal.

The accompanying official video further amplifies the track’s dark symbolism and dramatic intensity, translating its themes into a powerful visual narrative.

With “Acquired Immunity”, CATALYST CRIME continue to push the boundaries of their sound, blending orchestral grandeur, metallic precision and fearless experimentation into a compelling and immersive experience.

With the album set for release on October 2, 2026 CATALYST CRIME promise a record that expands upon the emotional storytelling of “Cursebreaker” and the aggressive edge of “Acquired Immunity”, blending orchestral grandeur, metallic precision and fearless experimentation into their most ambitious work to date.

MISSION IN BLACK Release Title Track ‘Divinity Of Lies’ of Upcoming Album

MISSION IN BLACK are releasing another single from their upcoming album. Following the aggressive “RISE,” the album’s dark title track, “Divinity Of Lies,” is now being released.

Vocalist Steffi Stuber:
“‘Divinity of Lies’ tells the story of a tyrannical, manipulative power that elevates itself to the highest authority and peddles a deceptive divinity—a ‘divinity of lies.’ It feeds on fear, sows violence, and pulls the strings through deception. In its self-presentation, it stands above everything and everyone, as a seemingly omnipotent creation that demands obedience and threatens damnation.   A glance at the current state of society, politics, or the financial world is enough to see the parallels. Yet the song deliberately leaves room between the lines—enough leeway for every listener to find their own interpretation and discover the personal truth behind the lies.”

Drummer Andy Black adds
“One of our darkest songs ever; Eddie composed the entire song, and we really pushed each other to the limit when it came to ‘darkness’… I had the album title at the top of my ‘favorites list’ pretty early on, and we were also already pretty far along in brainstorming cover ideas with our cover artist Simon Bossert… we exchanged these ideas and thoughts, of course, and that’s how a song came about that, at least in terms of the riffing, even has a few ‘black metal’ vibes…”

With these two quite different singles, MISSION IN BLACK once again demonstrates its wide range of musical styles at the highest level!

MISSION IN BLACK is a German five-piece melodic death metal band from Baden Württemberg that has been consistently forging its own path since 2010. Their sound combines metallic aggression with epic depth, blending melodic death metal with thrash influences into a powerful and energetic whole. Founded by Andy Flache (drums), Daniel Tschoepe (guitar), Martin Grimm and Hannes Jäger, the band released their first demo Black Infect in 2011, quickly earning stage time with bands such as Brainstorm and Mystic Prophecy. With their debut album Anthems Of A Dying Breed (2018, El Puerto Records), MISSION IN BLACK established themselves as a formidable live act. Their second album, Profit Reigns Supreme (2018), produced by Sebastian „Seeb“ Levermann (Orden Ogan, Rhapsody Of Fire, Brainstorm), confirmed this status and receiving strong response through ist accompanying music videos. Between 2023 and 2025, the band appeared at numerous renowned festivals, including Rage Against Racism, Area 53, Easter Cross Festival, Castle Rock Festival and Metalacker Festival. International performances in Belgium, Hungary and the Czech Republic, as well as support shows for Nightrage and Rage on the A New World Rising Tour, underlined their growing international presence. Beyond the stage, the band actively engaged in social causes: since 2024, MISSION IN BLACK have been official ambassadors of the Captain Paul Foundation Germany e.V., regularly supporting charity events. In April 2026, MISSION IN BLACK will release their third studio album Divinity Of Lies (24.04.2026), once again mixed and mastered by Sebastian „Seeb“ Levermann. A major live highlight in 2026 will be their performance at the RVBang Festival in Balingen alongside Michael Schenker, Sonata Arctica and Tankard. MISSION IN BLACK thus stands for modern melodic death metal – without compromises, committed and always moving in one direction: forward.

MATTEO BRIGO Returns with New EP “Sword And Sorcery”, Out Now

MATTEO BRIGO returns with new EP “Sword And Sorcery”, released on March 26, 2026 via Wanikiya Record/Promotion. An epic journey through magic, dungeons, and blazing guitars. After exploring mad laboratories, ‘80s cinematic tributes, and deep space adventures, visionary guitarist and composer Matteo Brigo opens a brand-new, extraordinary chapter in his musical saga.

With “Sword and Sorcery”, Matteo Brigo transports his sonic universe into a completely new realm: an epic fantasy adventure filled with magic, legendary creatures, and heroic quests.

This new EP represents the natural evolution of an artistic journey that began with:

  • “It Works!”
  • “80’s Movies”
  • “Space Pirate”

While previous works saw the protagonist traveling through science, cinema, and space, today he finds himself immersed in a true fantasy campaign, where each track is a scene, each riff a battle, and each melody a spell.

SOUND: BETWEEN SHRED, MELODY AND STORYTELLING

Written, composed, arranged, and produced entirely by Matteo Brigo, the EP maintains the defining elements of his style:

  • high-level guitar technique
  • strong melodic sense
  • direct and engaging impact

The influences recall the great shred tradition (Satriani, Vai, Van Halen), but are reinterpreted through a narrative lens, creating an evocative and cinematic sound perfectly aligned with the fantasy imagery.

THE CONCEPT

A new chapter begins… an epic quest… starring our Scientist, his Botanical Familiar and the Sentient Guitar. What could possibly go wrong? Between dungeons, mythological creatures, and legendary battles, the story expands with new characters and settings, while preserving the ironic and adventurous spirit that defines the entire Brigo project.

SINGLE AND VIDEOCLIP

The EP finds its core in the lead single “Starlight Extinction”, accompanied by a videoclip entirely created by Matteo Brigo himself.

The video is a blend of technique and irony, featuring:

  • animations and illustrated backgrounds
  • references to comics, cartoons, and pop culture
  • the artist’s unmistakable visual style

The drawings are by Oscar Celestini, who also created the album artwork, inspired by his comic work “Leone Bianco”.

LINE-UP AND COLLABORATIONS

Matteo Brigo – guitars, piano, keyboards, effects, and sound experiments
Luca Serasin – bass
Demian De Saba – drums
Mattia Cerantola – drums (track 2)

A lineup that blends experience, technique, and diverse backgrounds, adding depth and dynamism to the entire release.

ARTWORK

The artwork is curated by Oscar Celestini, a comic artist who has worked with major names such as Star Comics, DC Comics, Bonelli, and Giochi Preziosi. His visual style helps turn “Sword and Sorcery” into a fully immersive 360° experience, where music and imagery merge seamlessly.

MATTEO BRIGO’S WORDS

“I’ve always loved the fantasy world through movies, books, and Dungeons & Dragons. This EP was born from the desire to explore that kind of storytelling: an open-ended story made of quests and great adventures. Each track is a scene, a key moment. Sonically, I tried to find a balance between what I’ve done in the past and new experimentation.”

BIOGRAPHY

Guitarist, composer, arranger, music therapist, and “mad scientist”, Matteo Brigo is a unique figure in the Italian hard rock scene.

After his experience with the progressive band Maieutica, with whom he released the albums “Logos” (2012) and “R.E.S.” (2016), he established himself as a solo artist with:

“It Works!” (2016)
“80’s Movies” (2018)
“Space Pirate” (2021)

His works have received excellent feedback from both critics and audiences, leading him to perform on major stages and appear in contexts such as Rai Radio 2 and Rai 3.

WINTERFYLLETH Release New Album “The Unyielding Season” with Visualizer for Title Track

With the release of their ninth album, The Unyielding Season, out now via Napalm Records, UK’s black metal legends WINTERFYLLETH unleash the title track as the third single. “The Unyielding Season” captures the overarching theme of the album: the song is a reflection of the current state of the world wrapped in raging, yet refined atmospheric black metal, guiding the way to a worthy follow up to 2024’s celebrated predecessor The Imperious Horizon.

WINTERFYLLETH’s ninth album is a social commentary wrapped in meticulously crafted poetry and prose. Where the preceding album described an ominous, malevolent force, lurking in the distance, The Unyielding Season now explores said threat becoming a reality.

Chris Naughton on “The Unyielding Season”:
“‘The Unyielding Season’ – the song that puts music and emotion to the album concept as a whole. A beautiful, haunting and reflective track that tries to capture the weight and gravity of the current social circumstances we are living through in the world. It shares its concept with that of the wider album, and essentially tries to be a voice of the people against the tide of pressures in the world.”

WINTERFYLLETH about the new album:
“2026 marks a year of big changes for WINTERFYLLETH! A new label, a new member, a new album, and the landmark of 20 years making music together. We are enthused by what this new chapter will bring, and as a result, we are now able to share our ninth album, The Unyielding Season, with the world. It is also a powerful and virulent first output, through which we seal our new collaboration with Napalm Records.

In many ways, the new album is a reflection on – and a rebellion against – the turmoil’s and fears that are tearing the lives of many individuals apart. It is a cry against the unsustainable & constant weight of malevolence and pressure being pushed into the world by agents of an un-resting and unyielding force for evil. We hope the album resonates with you, stirs your soul, and gives you a source for hope. But, we also hope it makes you ask questions of your own circumstances and gives you pause to consider the unnerving state of the world we all share.”

Order your copy of The Unyielding Season NOW

“Heroes Of A Hundred Fields” is the first revolt on their ten-song manifesto, describing brave minds joining forces against a common oppressor to fight for their freedom.  The song unfolds in marvellous grandeur as chants of “Rebellions beacons now alight”, ring out against a tide of evil. With “Echoes In The After”, WINTERFYLLETH delivers a striking epic: adapted from a poem by Sir Philip Sidney’s late 16th-century romance “The Countess Of Pembroke’s Arcadia”, the track was written as a reaction to the felling of the famous ‘Robin Hood’ tree at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall, in the North East of the UK. The following track, “A Hollow Existence”, opens up with galloping drums and explodes into equally aggressive and atmospheric black metal fireworks. The band’s trademark sound continues throughout “Perdition’s Flame” into the album’s title track, a powerful observation of our world’s current situation and a voice for those silenced by its hostility.

Atmospheric masters WINTERFYLLETH then pause their rage, making room for “Unspoken Elegy”, an acoustic guitar-driven instrumental enriched by equally hopeful and menacing cello melodies—a hauntingly beautiful illustration of the dichotomy within The Unyielding Season. “In Ashen Wake” takes up the perilous undertone, taking its time before unveiling itself as another highly melodic black metal saga. “Toward Elysium” expands on that with a strong, old-school-inspired guitar riff, thrilling and catchy. Following another instrumental, the beautifully structured “Where Dreams Once Grew”, WINTERFYLLETH end the album running order with a bonus track, a cover of fellow Brits Paradise Lost’s “Enchantment”, originally released as the opening track on their 1995 classic Draconian Times.

ENSLAVED Reveal Two Sea Shanties ‘Fire Marengo’ & ‘Anna Lovinda’ in Collaboration with Storm Weather Shanty Choir

Photo credit: Marlene Grygo – Left to right: Grutle Kjellson (Enslaved), Ivar Bjørnson (Enslaved), Roald Kaldestad (Storm Weather Shanty Choir), Haakon Steinar Vatle (Storm Weather Shanty Choir).

Today, Norwegian progressive trailblazers Enslaved are honoured to reveal their latest creation – two unique recordings of sea shanties, made in collaboration with the Storm Weather Shanty Choir, who hail from Bergen, Norway’s great sailing ship the Statsraad Lehmkuhl.

The shanties are titled ‘Fire Marengo‘ and ‘Anna Lovinda‘. ‘Fire Marengo‘ is a traditional shanty, whilst ‘Anna Lovinda‘ was written by the late sailor and Norwegian cultural figure Erik Bye.

Enslaved explained the collaboration:

“Enslaved was formed on the western edge of Norway, where mountains fall into the sea and history is carried by wind and tide. Bergen is not simply a coastal city; it is a threshold — between land and ocean, between myth and lived experience. The sea is not scenery here. It is memory, labour, departure and return.

Among the most powerful living symbols of this heritage is Statsraad Lehmkuhl, the great Bergen tall ship that still sails the world’s oceans. Around this vessel lives and breathes the shanty tradition — songs born of rhythm, rope, salt, and collective effort. From this environment emerged Storm Weather Shanty Choir.

Our connection to the ship began in 2014, when the Tall Ships Races concluded in Bergen. We were invited to compose and perform a commissioned piece on the deck of Statsraad Lehmkuhl. Metal echoed across the harbour that evening — a meeting of ancient wind-powered technology and modern amplified ritual. It felt less like contrast and more like continuity.

Since then, a friendship has grown — particularly with Haakon Vatle, director of the ship’s foundation and one of Norway’s most devoted custodians of the shanty tradition. He often remarks that sailors were the first metalheads — people who faced elemental forces daily and answered them with song. There is truth in that. Shanties were not entertainment; they were functional incantations — rhythm as survival.

In November 2025, during the choir’s 20th anniversary concert in Bergen, we joined forces on the traditional “Fire Marengo” and the Norwegian shanty “Anna Lovinda,” written by the late sailor and cultural figure Erik Bye. The collaboration felt less like fusion and more like recognition — two expressions of the same coastal inheritance meeting at the centre.

After the performance, it was clear that this convergence should not remain ephemeral. We met again in early 2026 to record the material — not as novelty, but as continuation

Because at the centre — at mið — we find not isolation, but shared origin. Wind, rhythm, voice. The same pulse that once moved sails now moves amplifiers. The same call-and-response that coordinated labour now shapes modern ritual.

The sea remembers. And so do we.”

Never faltering, Norway’s iconic Enslaved continue to exist as one of the most original and dependable components in our scene’s indestructible backbone. Possessing the reputation as one of the most riveting live acts around, they never fail to offer us talent of the highest calibre, always doing justice to their signature black/progressive sound. Enslaved was formed in 1991 by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson, releasing their first demo Yggdrasill in the summer of 1992, their legendary mini-album Hordanes Land coming out in 1993, and with their debut full-length Vikingligr Veldi arriving in the spring of 1994.

Enslaved are a band in stellar form – a band at its most existentialist and self-conscious, proud Bergeners bearing the torch of their hometown’s extraordinary musical history. Their most recent material shows Enslaved at their most unleashed and thought-through – a lethal combination unfurling a potential that’s easily rekindling the furor of their early works while dancing gracefully through their most ambitious, most haunting and most musical tunes yet. A contradiction? Life itself is a contradiction. And yet we all live to prove it wrong.

Enslaved are:
Ivar Bjørnson | guitars
Grutle Kjellson | vocals
Arve ‘Ice Dale’ Isdal | guitar
Håkon Vinje | keyboards, clean vocals
Iver Sandøy | drums

DIMMU BORGIR Announce New Album “Grand Serpent Rising” + Release Video for Single ‘Ulvgjeld & Blodsodel’

Eight years after the release of their critically acclaimed album Eonian, Norwegian symphonic black metal titans DIMMU BORGIR return with a towering new opus: Grand Serpent Rising. Set for release on May 22 via Nuclear Blast Records, the album delivers thirteen punishing yet remarkably diverse tracks that reaffirm the band’s status as one of the most formidable forces in extreme music.

Shagrath comments: “I truly feel we’ve outdone ourselves musically on this album. It’s been a long and demanding process, but seeing how it all came together makes it incredibly rewarding. Grand Serpent Rising reflects every era of Dimmu Borgir – This album carries echoes of every chapter of Dimmu Borgir’s legacy – I believe our fans will recognize that, and find something within it that truly resonates.”

Even the sheer weight of the album title speaks volumes.

“It fits perfectly,” guitarist Silenoz explains. “Dimmu Borgir is a leviathan of a band on a grand scale and we are rising once again. While the serpent represents evil to some, for us it symbolizes something else: renewal, growth, knowledge, and liberation. Shedding our skin, so to speak. And let’s not forget that February 2026 marks the end of the Year of the Snake, roughly the same moment this album was completed.”

Grand Serpent Rising was recorded in Gothenburg with acclaimed producer Fredrik Nordström, whose legacy with the band includes landmark releases Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Death Cult Armageddon. The collaboration once again captures the band at their most expansive and ferocious, blending orchestral grandeur with unrelenting black metal intensity.

Alongside the album announcement, the band unveils a cinematic video for the track ‘Ulvgjeld & Blodsodel’. Sung in Norwegian, the song stands as a punishing epic rooted in themes of heritage and bloodline – the passing of something essential from one generation to the next.

  • 2LP Gatefold Black Vinyl
  • 2LP Gatefold Dark Green Vinyl

  • 2LP Gatefold Crystal Clear Vinyl (Sweden Rock Exclusive)
  •  2LP Gatefold Pearl Flip Waterfall Vinyl

In October 2026, two of the most influential forces in extreme metal join together for a monumental live assault: DIMMU BORGIR and BEHEMOTH will embark on the ‘In League With Satan’ Co-Headline Tour, storming across Europe and the UK. As special guests, the Swedish black metal icons Dark Funeral will add even more ferocity to an already devastating lineup.
