SCORCHING TOMB emerged from the sewers of Montreal in 2018 with one clear mission: to fuse old-school death metal with modern hardcore in a city ruled by technical death metal. It didn’t take long for the band to make a name for themselves in the underground. Their blend of blistering old-school riffs, crushing mosh parts, and explosive live energy quickly caught the attention of the hardcore scene in particular.

Originally formed by tattoo artist Vincent P.L. (vocals) and guitarist Philippe Leblanc, SCORCHING TOMB has since solidified its most formidable lineup yet with the addition of Miguel Lepage (ex–Blind Witness, ex–Obey the Brave) on bass and Émile Savard (Profane Order, ex–Malebranche) on drums. With this new blood, the band has evolved from a local standout into a fully weaponized force.

Now, the time has come to follow in the footsteps of Cryptopsy, Quo Vadis, and Despised Icon, proving once again that Montreal remains a relentless, unyielding powerhouse in the world of death metal.

Line-up:

Vincent Patrick Lajeunesse – Vocals
Philippe Leblanc – Guitars, Backing vocals
Miguel Lepage – Bass
Émile Savard – Drums

Acclaimed singer Rob Moratti proudly announces the release of his upcoming sixth studio album, “Sovereign”, out on December 12, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Moratti also shares the first single and official lyric video, “Don’t Give Up On Love”, available today.

Talking about the new track, Rob stated: “It is the perfect opener. Most of us have struggled with relationships and this song is packed with the most powerful positive energy, you can feel it! We are all here for each other to lean on and help you win again. We hurt and we heal. We learn from our mistakes. Just don’t give up on love”.

Pre-Order “Sovereign” HERE

Rob commented on the upcoming release, by saying: “My new album “Sovereign” is packed with great songs and monster players. I promise you, this is my very best album and production”.

Rob Moratti is a solo artist, formerly lead vocalist of Moratti, Final Frontier and of course Saga. Rob Moratti, a genuine and true original, has an astonishing range and has carved a unique style for himself, blending the finest elements of melodic and progressive rock.

“Sovereign” is Rob Moratti’s sixth solo album on the heels of the critically acclaimed release “Epical”, his debut on the Frontiers label. Filled with his trademark harmonies and memorable choruses, the songs on ” Sovereign” develop from where “Epical” has left off and are easily some of the most exciting that he has ever put his stamp on. An absolute must for fans of classic AOR music in line with The Storm, Journey, Survivor, Strangeways and Signal.

The album once features a stellar cast of contributing writers and performers, including Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake, ex-Night Ranger) on lead guitar, Tony Franklin (ex-The Firm, Blue Murder) on bass, Felix Borg on drums (and co-writing), Fredrik Bergh on keys (and co-writing) and Pete Alpenborg (who also contributes rhythm guitar and keyboards). A real all-star line up for this excellent album!

Moratti started his professional singing career in the early 90’s as lead vocalist and songwriter of the band Moratti. They were immediately well received, garnering airplay in Japan and Europe. In 2002, Rob’s future went forward with Final Frontier, a band with whom he has released four incredible melodic-minded metal albums.

Over the years, despite all the changes in the music scene, Rob’s perseverance and passion have stayed strong. His talent captured the attention of the multi-platinum selling legendary progressive rock band SAGA and in 2008, Rob Moratti would become the new vocalist for the band for a while, appearing on 2009’s “The Human Condition”.

Over the course of his solo career, Rob has also worked with many incredible musicians like Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake, TSO, ex-Night Ranger), Reb Beach (Whitesnake. Winger), Tony Franklin (ex- Blue Murder, The Firm), Brian Doerner (Saga), Ian Crichton (Saga), and Steve Augeri (ex-Journey).

THE HARA Team Up with As December Falls’ Vocalist on New Single + Video ‘Violence’

THE HARA have revealed their brand-new single Violence featuring As December Falls vocalist Bethany Hunter Jiménez. The single drops ahead of their October-November UK tour with As December Falls. Watch the official video HERE.

The single is the latest cut from their upcoming album, The Fallout, released on 23 January via Mascot Records.

Speaking about the electrifying collaboration between THE HARA and As December Falls, Josh shares how it all came together: “When we wrote Violence, we always had in mind that it would be incredible to have a strong female voice on the track to really bring out the two characters and the emotion of what the song is about and when we heard Beth (As December Falls) was interested, we knew it would be a perfect fit. Her high pop punk vocals take it to a whole new level and she absolutely killed it on both the song and the music video.”

This song explores the concept of a two-way toxic relationship, drawn from personal experience. “It’s a love story without a clear villain,” Josh explains. “It’s about two people desperately trying to make something work, even though it was never meant to last. The pain, the hurt, the manipulation—they’ve come to mistake all of it for love. And because of that, they can’t bring themselves to let go.”

You can hear Josh’s aching confession ring out on the song —“I don’t wanna leave when you’re all I’m fighting for”—which is met with Bethany’s biting response: “I thought you loved me, your perfect centerpiece. How could you say that you’d be better off without me?”

Violence follows their previous single, the live-wire Easier to Die, which is about losing hope in the pursuit of success and succumbing to negative thoughts. Heavy and personal entwine, and it’s this that creates the sheer electricity emanating from the band, making them a breathtaking spectacle to watch.

The Fallout allows the band to express themselves in a way that enables them to be supremely honest and open, whilst directing it towards a creative outlet. “Each song is a representation of the suffering I feel internally and how it manifests itself in different ways throughout my everyday life, relationships and as the frontman of THE HARA, having to deal with the chaotic ups and downs of band life that we already face. I’m still learning to find healthy ways to cope with my mental health, but sometimes in the moment, it’s easier to self-destruct, because even if the resulting effect is negative, it’s still better than facing the unknown ‘The Fallout’.”

The Manchester, UK trio – vocalist Josh Taylor, drummer Jack Kennedy and guitarist Zack Breen – create from a place of undistilled, unadulterated intention, and the songs all form the building blocks for their supercharged live shows, the environment where they feel like they blossom into their most authentic, best selves.

Their raucous genre mash-up of alternative rock, metalcore, and emo has already seen them grab the live circuit by the scruff of the neck and pick up support slots with pop-punk giants Sum 41, Nothing More, Escape the Fate and Ice Nine Kills. They’ve exploded across the festival circuit; Download, Slam Dunk, 2000 Trees, Kendal Calling, TRNSMT, Tramlines, Truck, Boomtown Fair and an incredible main stage set at both Reading and Leeds Festival, as well as main stage performances at Rock For People and Mighty Sounds Festival in the Czech Republic.

Talking about the weight of the album at a deeper level, singer Josh opens up, “I struggle massively with self-acceptance and the way I talk to myself in my head. As I get older, I realise it’s something I’ve been dealing with for a very long time, and I’ve just grown accustomed to finding different ways to block it out or protect myself from it externally. It’s been a journey to just be able to say that out loud without feeling guilty because I’ve felt for so long that my mental health was never ‘that bad’, so I internalised so much, which only made things a lot worse than if I had spoken openly about it from the beginning. So, if anything, I really hope this album connects with people who are dealing with similar battles to me and inspires them to express who they are and how they feel without shame.”

“This album is probably the purest, rawest version of us,” asserts Josh. “Musically, lyrically, everything feels the most authentic we’ve been. This is really who we are.”

Wormholedeath is thrilled to announce the signing of Italian heavy metal juggernaut Thunder Rising for the CD release of their highly anticipated new album, “Horizon Line”. The digital edition of the album will be distributed by Mediaset RTI, bringing the band’s explosive sound to streaming platforms worldwide.

Fusing classic hard rock roots with cutting-edge production, “Horizon Line” is a masterclass in modern vintage. Thunder Rising’s self-coined style—“Real Vintage”—melds raw analog soul with a contemporary sonic edge. Think Deep Purple and Rainbow riffage, the melodic finesse of Journey and Boston, and the unmistakable warmth of Hammond organs, Fender guitars, and Marshall amps, all dialed in with 21st-century precision.

The album is more than a tribute to the golden era of rock—it’s an emotional and musical road trip. With every track, Thunder Rising invites listeners on a ride across time and memory, blending seasoned musicianship with a visceral, lived-in energy.

Formed in 2012 by longtime collaborators Frank Caruso (Arachnes, Firehouse) and Corrado “Nail” Ciceri (Wine Spirit), Thunder Rising is a supergroup of elite musicians. Their chemistry is built on decades of experience and shared passion, creating music that’s as authentic as it is electrifying.

“Horizon Line isn’t just a record—it’s a journey into sound, into the past and the future of rock. It’s the roar of a vintage motorcycle rolling into tomorrow,” shares the band.

Joining Caruso and Ciceri are powerhouse vocalist Alessio Spini, low-end wizard Gabriele Baroni, and keyboardist/composer Enzo Caruso. Together, they craft an album that pulses with life, emotion, and hard rock grit.

Franco Caruso is now an official Ibanez artist! Check out his artist profile: https://www.ibanez.com/usa/artists/detail/625.html

ENTHRONED Reveal Title Track of Upcoming Full-Length Album “Ashspawn”

With “Ashspawn,” ENTHRONED release the second chapter of their new album: a violent statement of transformation through fire. Condensed into four and a half minutes of controlled chaos, the song embodies the record’s central doctrine: spiritual destruction as the catalyst for transcendence.

Driven by Menthor’s blinding percussion and Kaos’s serpentine riffing, “Ashspawn” oscillates between feral speed and precise rhythmic control. The production’s overwhelming density evokes ritual combat—each dissonant chord and blast beat colliding as a deliberate act of annihilation and rebirth. Nornagest’s vocals, both incantation and condemnation, channel the lyrical core of the piece: “I am God’s scourge of defeat, the semen in His eye.” What begins as a hymn of ruin resolves into declaration: Et Verbum Caro Factum Est—“And the Word became Flesh.”

Ashspawn is out December 5th via Season of Mist. Pre-order & pre-save: https://orcd.co/enthronedashspawn

Tracklist:

  1. Crawling Temples (5:35)
  2. Basilisk Triumphant (5:53)
  3. Stillborn Litany (6:48)
  4. Ashspawn (4:40)
  5. Raviasamin (4:26)
  6. Sightless (3:39)
  7. Chysalid (4:32)
  8. Ashen Advocacy (7:58)
  9. Assertion (6:44)
    Full runtime: 50:17

With the release of their twelfth full-length Ashspawn, ENTHRONED mark a new chapter in their three-decade reign of ritualistic black metal. Conceived across six years of deliberate creation, the album emerges as both an autopsy and a resurrection: a descent into spiritual death followed by the sublimation of rebirth. Written in close collaboration with occult author Gilles de Laval, Ashspawn channels arcane praxis, metaphysical calculus, and esoteric mapping into a work that is as much ritual invocation as it is music. It is the culmination of Enthroned’s uncompromising vision: a weapon of transformation forged in fire and darkness.

Formed in 1993 in Namur, Belgium, Enthroned arose from the ashes of the blackened underground, quickly asserting themselves as one of the most relentless voices of European black metal. Their debut, Prophecies of Pagan Fire(1995), established the band’s reputation for feral speed, occult imagery, and unflinching dedication to the Left Hand Path. Less than a year after their formation, they signed their first record deal, making an immediate impact on the international scene.

Tragedy struck early in their journey when founding drummer Cernunnos took his own life in 1997, shortly after the recording of their sophomore album. Using his preserved rehearsal tracks, the band pressed forward with Towards the Skullthrone of Satan(1997), transforming grief into fury and ensuring Enthroned’s continuation as a vessel of uncompromising black metal. This resilience became a defining trait: through numerous line-up changes, the band’s spirit never wavered, anchored by a vision that was ritualistic rather than trend driven.

Over the following decades, Enthroned’s discography expanded into a formidable catalogue. Albums such as Armoured Bestial Hell (2001) and Carnage in Worlds Beyond(2003) pushed their sound into ever more violent and atmospheric territories. The mid-2000s witnessed a period of reinvention, with Tetra Karcist (2007) and Pentagrammaton (2010) deepening their exploration of occult philosophy and esoteric symbolism. Obsidium (2012) and Sovereigns (2014) continued this evolution, balancing ferocious aggression with ritual atmospheres. By the time of Cold Black Suns(2019), their debut for Season of Mist, Enthroned had crystallized a reputation as one of black metal’s most enduring institutions: a band that both honoured the origins of the genre and transcended them with an intellectual, ritualistic dimension.

Now, in 2025, Ashspawn stands as Enthroned’s most ambitious and personal statement to date. Musically, it embodies a total unity of vision: ferocious blast beats, oppressive mid-tempos, and progressive structures collapse into one another, laced with solos that veer from Morbid Angel-like madness to Judas Priest-inspired virtuosity. Lyrically, it operates as a metaphysical architecture, its verses designed not merely to be heard but to infect and transform. Tracks such as “Raviasamin,” “Ashspawn,” and “Ashen Advocacy” reveal its dual nature: violent catharsis intertwined with crushing introspection, a tribunal where the self is broken and reforged.

More than three decades after their inception, Enthroned remain steadfast in their purpose: not to replicate the past, but to realign with the forces that birthed them. Ashspawn is the testimony of this alignment, a ritual weapon that rejects nostalgia and compromise. It is a resurrection of spirit through suffering, a reaffirmation of Enthroned’s place among black metal’s most visionary entities.

New Jersey experimental metal collective TOMBS is now streaming their new full-length, ‘Feral Darkness,’ in its entirety via Decibel Magazine! The album is due tomorrow, Friday, October 17, via Redefining Darkness and you can now stream it HERE.
