BÖLTHORN to Release New Single + Video ‘Primeval Hunt’ on October 31st

Power, epicness, and roots deeply grounded in Nordic Death Metal at its finest — BÖLTHORN are back to shake the metal scene with their brand new single “Primeval Hunt”, available on October 31st, 2025 via Wanikiya Record.

On the same day, the official music video for the track will be released on YouTube.

With this song, the band officially joins the Wanikiya Record roster, marking the beginning of a new and exciting chapter that anticipates their upcoming full-length album, due for release in 2026.

“Primeval Hunt” has been chosen as the manifesto of this new era: a track that embodies the essence of the upcoming concept album, narrating the eternal conflict within mankind — suspended between primal instinct and evolution, between the choice of being prey or hunter. There is no definitive answer, only the weight of ancient legacies that still shape our decisions today.

Bölthorn, whose name draws inspiration from Norse mythology, were formed in 2015 as a Death Metal project by Ironcross (guitar/composer), joined by Rob (guitar) and Drake (vocals). From the very beginning, the trio crafted a powerful, massive, and melodic sound, quickly turning the initial idea into a full-fledged band.

In 2018, they released their debut album “Across the Human Path” through Broken Bones Records, recorded at AUDIOCORE Studio in Fontevivo (PR).
After the pandemic, the band reached stability with Stefano (guitar), Beppe (bass), and Emiliano (drums).

In the summer of 2025, Jessica (former guitarist of Injury) officially joined the lineup, replacing Stefano and solidifying the current formation.

Today, Bölthorn are working on their second album, an ambitious concept set for release in 2026, with “Primeval Hunt” serving as both a prelude and a statement of intent.

With their epic and crushing sound, Bölthorn reaffirm their identity and open a new chapter in their career under the banner of Wanikiya Record/Promotion.

Super Glue Anxiety‘s new single Desert Blues is, as its name implies, desert blues. The story tells the desert nomad, who is fiercely in love with the oasis princess. However, the princess will never come to date. Nomad does not allow to slow down the celebration, but continues the evening with his camels. Crew sits around the campfire, the coconut drink circulates from one person to another and each tells funny stories in turn. The atmosphere is awesome and they sing together Desert Blues.

ORIANTHI Releases ‘Dark Days Are Gone’ Single And Music Video

Critically acclaimed guitarist and singer Orianthi will release her new single “Dark Days Are Gone” on Thursday October 16th. The new single is accompanied with an official music video that can be seen on YouTube HERE. This is the fifth single taken from her critically acclaimed studio album Some Kind Of Feeling. Released by Woodward Avenue Records, the album is available on CD, vinyl, and digital HERE.

Orianthi produced three songs from the new album including “First Time Blues,” “Ghost,” and “Bad For Each Other.” The remaining seven songs on the album, including the new single “Dark Days Are Gone,” are produced by Kevin “The Caveman” Shirley (Black Country Communion, Beth Hart,  Joe Bonamassa).

Seems nothing can ever be written about the multi-talented veteran artist without mentioning her collaborations with Alice Cooper, Dave Stewart and Richie Sambora, and the fact that Michael Jackson hired her for his London performances the year of his untimely death.

Her success as an artist in her own right, started with her Top 20 Billboard pop hit “According to You” and gold-selling Geffen album Believe (2009). While playing with legends over the years, she’s continued to build her discography with numerous albums on different labels.

Her prolific streak of stylistically diverse singles released by Woodward Avenue Records – “First Time Blues” featuring Joe Bonamassa, “Ghost,” “Some Kind of Feeling,” and “Attention,” launches a fresh, adventurous new phase of her solo career, an era of exciting creativity and powerhouse rock and roll.

With every new single, Orianthi reminds us that she’s at the top of her game in every way, finding fresh, vulnerable yet attitude-filled musical stories to tell, and allowing us to experience the guitar chops that have made her a modern-day rock icon.

Jonathan Widran breaks down Orianthi’s new single “Dark Days Are Gone”

Fully living up to its emotion evoking title, Orianthi’s Woodward Avenue debut Some Kind of Feeling is seriously the edgy, blues-rock gift that keeps on giving. With the release of the speedy thumping, kick-ass, kiss-off funk rocker “Dark Days Are Gone,” the otherworldly Australian singer, songwriter and electric guitar virtuosa has released five powerhouse singles from the ten-track album – including her recent acclaimed track “Attention,” which achieved crossover love from country rock fans and tastemakers.

While it made sense with every other song to introduce it with Ori’s all-star rock associations and previous successes as a solo artist, “Dark Days are Gone” is produced by legendary fellow Aussie Kevin Shirley. It’s another showcase for Ori’s attitude-filled songwriting, exciting vocals, and sizzling guitar playing. The song thrives and grooves on the propulsive rhythms of bassist Justin Andres and drummer Jimmy Paxson. If your ears can isolate their vibe for a few seconds, you’ll hear it too – a hypnotic groove reminiscent of Golden Earring mid-70’s driving gem “Radar Love.”

Capturing the energetic determination of a woman about to tell a man she’s done with his BS and moving on, the intro to “Dark Days are Gone” is bouncy and buoyant and draws us into Ori’s guitar fire immediately before she relates the background of the relationship and shares how over time the darker reality of this lover is revealed. She gave him enough chances and after an intoxicating pre-chorus buildup, she’s ready to unleash her fire, with her crackling guitar harmony lines blazing.

It’s one of Ori’s trademark irresistibly emotional hooks, and one we can all relate to at some point or another: “Don’t’ leave the light on when you leave/Baby, lock the door, throw away the keys.” Leading up to the mention of the title, she drops the big bomb “’Cause my heart, it ain’t your home” and mentions, like oh yeah, by the way she’s found someone else (quickly, we presume) who loves her and “won’t make me feel alone.” Decades ago, Gloria Gaynor said she will survive, but Orianthi’s got a cleverer spin on how intensely things have changed right there in the title “Dark Days Are Gone.”

Then the radar loving groove peps in to drive Ori’s defiant second verse where she declares she’d rather be alone and flame throws another incisive line about how much he’ll regret his foolishness which led her to break free “One day, you’re gonna wake up and wish I was in your bed.” But really, as on every Ori track, we’re listening patiently as she shares her feelings and gets back to the killer chorus because of what we know is coming – a burning, almost adjective defying guitar solo where she showcases her chops not merely to share her surreal talents but as catharsis from the emotionally complex ordeal that inspires the song.

The rhythm section explodes in a boisterous rain of musical lava behind Ori’s relentless have-to- hear-it-to-believe-it outburst. What a blast, literally! It’s not always sunny in Ori’s musical world and she often shares songs about messed up relationships – but we know we’ll feel something like the heat of the sun when she regales us with that incredible solo action! – Jonathan Widran

SOULGRIND Release New Single ‘Tears Of The Earth’ from Upcoming 10th Album

The legendary Finnish metal band Soulgrind, founded in 1992, is set to release its tenth album, Ad Pulchram Mortem, via Inverse Records. The release date will be announced later. The second single ‘Tears of the Earth’ is unleashed today and it’s available here: https://push.fm/fl/soulgrind-tears

Vocalist/keyboardist Azhemin comments:
“Tears of the Earth was a laborious project in every respect. At its peak, the session had 93 tracks, and refining all the small nuances sometimes felt like shooting oneself in the foot. However, in the end, the mix became quite simple. Even if you have a palette full of colored pencils, you don’t always need to use them all.

The song basically consists of three separate parts or spaces that form the whole. The lyrics support the mood of these scenes in just the right way. Tears of the Earth is a compact yet multifaceted piece.”

Guitarist Lord Heikkinen continues:

“Tears of the Earth was built around a riffing I had done a few years earlier. Azhem and I started creating a song together from the riffs. Azhem came up with a great prog-inspired middle section that sounds simple but is actually quite intricate when you listen closely to the riff. Additionally, Micko Hell arranged excellent acoustic parts for the song. Not to mention Tanya Lilith’s wonderful melodies and harmonies. Overall, it’s a successful and unique whole.

The lyrics are based on an apocalyptic theme, the final nightmares. They describe how all organized cultures and religions drain everything and everywhere dry. In the end, only death remains—along with the Earth Mother’s tears and sorrow. These lyrics are actually embedded in the album’s story, a dark journey along the rivers of Tuonela. This trip mostly takes place in the traveler’s mind.”

Soulgrind is a Finnish metal band formed in 1992, known primarily for their blend of gothic metal, thrash  and black metal with a dark, melodic atmosphere. The band was founded by Lord Heikkinen, who has consistently contributed guitars and programming throughout their career.

Soulgrind’s music often explores themes related to the darker aspects of Finnish history and psyche, combining passion, war, and the “dark side of mind” into their lyrical content, reflecting a deep connection to Finland’s cultural and historical roots. But there has always been the bride side for the aspects as well. Classic war of love and hate. The  sound has evolved over the time, but Soulgrind has maintained a core identity rooted in metal with a dark, atmospheric edge, resisting strict genre categorization and embracing musical development freely. Freedom of metal has always been the theme. And so it shall be.

Soulgrind is recognized for their intelligent and unique approach to metal, merging melodic and dark elements to create a distinctive sound within the Finnish metal scene. Their long-standing presence since the early 90s marks them as a significant act in the gothic and black metal genres in Finland.

Enslaved Drummer Iver Sandøy’s own band EMMERHOFF & THE MELANCHOLY BABIES will release their new album “The Dying Of The Light” tomorrow, October 17th, via Apollon Records.

Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

– Dylan Thomas (1947)

Emmerhoff & The Melancholy Babies do not shy away from this irrefutable fact.
The band, celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2026, may now rightly consider themselves distinguished “elder statesmen” of rock.

With such perspectives also comes the recognition of the transience of life.
There are now more funerals than weddings lingering on the horizon, and the ranks of both the idols of our youth and contemporaries on the music scene are beginning to thin.

“The Dying Of The Light”, its title taken from Dylan Thomas’ iconic poem, contemplates and embraces the twilight of life, but also, in the spirit of the poem, fighting spirit and stubborn resistance to the inevitable.

Death will come, but until then we will create music and celebrate life.
October 2025 will see the release of the band’s seventh studio album, recorded at Duper and Solslottet Studios in Bergen, produced by Iver Sandøy and Jørgen Træen..
The music reflects the somber thematic while also being vital and vigorous.
The range is wide, from delicate contemplation to powerful outbursts, strictly composed in one moment and loosely improvised in the next.

The Dying Of The Light is dedicated to the memory of Per Harald Ottesen, (1974-2022) bassist in Emmerhoff & The Melancholy Babies 1996-1998.

Line-up:
Gunnar Emmerhoff – vocals, guitars
Inge Rypdal – guitars
Arild Vikane – guitars
Einride Torvik – bass
Iver Sandøy – drums
Guest appearances by:
Lindy-Fay Hella (Wardruna) – vocals
Jørgen Træen – modular synth and programming

Discography:
Viva Revenge (1999)
Loosebox (2002)
If This Darkness Lingers (2003)
Electric Reverie (2005)
Spin Out – Live (2006)
Where The Pale Light Creeps (2011)
Circle Six (2018)
The Dying Of The Light (2025)

Ahead of its official release on October 24th, 2025 through Time To Kill Records, the premiere offers a first complete glimpse into the band’s most ferocious and unfiltered work to date.

Across its unrelenting runtime, “Ossuary” distills the band’s trademark blend of raw death metal and metallic hardcore into a maelstrom of crushing riffs and primal aggression.

After carving a name for themselves with a string of well-received EPs and a crushing split, SCORCHING TOMB are now poised to make their boldest statement yet. “Ossuary” captures their feral fusion of death metal and hardcore at its most hostile, stripped of any modern gloss and delivered with total disdain for compromise.

With its filthy riffs, suffocating grooves and relentless intensity, the record is set to resonate with fans of Skinless, Fulci, Internal Bleeding, Xibalba and Terminal Nation, marking SCORCHING TOMB as one of the most uncompromising new forces in today’s extreme underground.

SCORCHING TOMB emerged from the sewers of Montreal in 2018 with one clear mission: to fuse old-school death metal with modern hardcore in a city ruled by technical death metal. It didn’t take long for the band to make a name for themselves in the underground. Their blend of blistering old-school riffs, crushing mosh parts, and explosive live energy quickly caught the attention of the hardcore scene in particular.

Originally formed by tattoo artist Vincent P.L. (vocals) and guitarist Philippe Leblanc, SCORCHING TOMB has since solidified its most formidable lineup yet with the addition of Miguel Lepage (ex–Blind Witness, ex–Obey the Brave) on bass and Émile Savard (Profane Order, ex–Malebranche) on drums. With this new blood, the band has evolved from a local standout into a fully weaponized force.

Now, the time has come to follow in the footsteps of Cryptopsy, Quo Vadis, and Despised Icon, proving once again that Montreal remains a relentless, unyielding powerhouse in the world of death metal.

Line-up:

Vincent Patrick Lajeunesse – Vocals
Philippe Leblanc – Guitars, Backing vocals
Miguel Lepage – Bass
Émile Savard – Drums
