FALLING INTO VIEW to Release New Single ‘Things (that I thought might one day be useful)’ on October 24th

Recently being announced as a BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcester Featured Artist, just six months into their story as a band, and having received radio airplay across multiple stations, Falling into View are delighted to be able to bring you their next single. After the successful release and reviews of their first two singles “What is it like to Lose?” and “On with the Show”, Falling into View are very proud to release their third single “Things (that I thought might one day be useful)”.

As with their previous singles, “Things” (due for release on 24th October) has already received BBC Introducing airplay and is a crowd favourite at their live shows, often stopping people in their tracks and silencing the room as Lyss and Allan perform this song in a stripped back way. Written and composed by prolific songwriter Allan, this track came together in just thirty minutes whilst Allan was packing up boxes and preparing to move house after it had been the family home for many years, although turning it into a breakup song gave it a bit of a twist!

He goes on to write that everyone has that drawer or cupboard shelf full of precious, sentimental things gathered across the years and it is often lovely to rediscover them and occasionally, just occasionally, they may one day be useful!

Allan states: “We’ve heard it said many times that some of the best songs are conceived and written in a matter of moments and this song was certainly one of those.
I recently moved house and whilst emptying drawer in an old cabinet I was struck by the amount of stuff it contained and why on earth we thought any of it would ever come in useful!
It was later that day when the thought struck me that this experience was a kind of metaphor for the way in which we bank memories. How we use them to look back fondly over the path our journey has taken or conversely, use the more painful ones to remind us not to take that pathway again!
So I sat down and wrote this song. In a matter of thirty minutes, I had the main body of the song and the melody. I took it to rehearsal and played it to the rest of the band and was struck by the stunned silence which greeted the final chords!
Imagine my relief when they all said they loved it! After talking over with Lyss we decided that it needed another verse to complete the story and so I went home that evening and wrote the last verse.
We all love this song, and we know how it affects people we play it to as they greet it with the same moment of stunned silence before the applause, it’s that split second that tells you the words you have written have resonated.”

Once again recorded at Magic Garden Studios in the West Midlands and produced by multi-platinum and BMA award winner Gavin Monaghan, this song will appeal to lovers of Americana, Country and Pop. Receiving fantastic reviews across their early live shows, Falling into View blend the best of Country and Americana with an unashamed nod to Pop, delivering a sound that will resonate with fans of multiple artists and genres.

Quotes from recent reviews of the first single “What is it like to Lose?”:
“Falling into View nail the Country-Pop sweetspot”
“Let’s get straight to it, Alyssa is the wildcard. Her vocals are the kind that stop you in your tracks”
“Falling into View arrive fully formed, blending classic sounds with a fresh edge and fronted by a vocalist who truly stands apart”
Quotes from recent reviews of the second single “On with the Show”:
“Longtime fans will know Alyssa as the voice that can stop you mid-conversation soulful, sweet, but full of grit when it needs to be”
“The sound they’re crafting feels far bigger than their roots. With On With the Show, they’ve proven they can produce tracks that hold their own against national and even international peers”
“There’s no ceiling here. Falling into View have tapped into something that resonates beyond genre boundaries”
“They are very good at transforming such profound meaning into songs and turning those emotions into anthems”

Singer Alyssa has previously made waves as a BBC Introducing featured artist. Allan, the band’s chief songwriter, carries the torch as its most seasoned musician, having also played alongside drummer Gordon in previous band The Idle Quiet. After that band’s chapter closed, Gordon suggested Alyssa take the microphone for a new project, bringing ex work colleague, and long-term friend, Rob on board to play bass. Lead guitarist and former bandmate of Rob, Bernie joined soon after, completing a lineup that came together as if it were meant to be, with everything “Falling into View” nicely!

With a rich mix of influences and an undeniable chemistry and an ability to not take itself too seriously, Falling into View is ready to make its mark—one song at a time.

Live show:
25th Oct, The Dragonffli, Pontypool
20th Dec, The Globe, Hay On Wye

Alyssa Wint (vocals and acoustic guitar)
Allan Price (rhythm guitar)
Bernie Eacock (lead guitar and backing vocals)
Rob Beavan (bass guitar and backing vocals)

FOLLOWING THE SIGNS Release New Single + Video ‘Stuck In Place’

Irish nu-metalcore outfit Following The Signs return with their brand-new single “Stuck In Place”, the first official release from their forthcoming EP ‘Evolve’, to be released in 2026.

Formed in Cork, Ireland in 2018, the band have carved a reputation for blending crushing metalcore with the raw groove of nu-metal and progressive textures, as heard on their debut album Conflictions and subsequent singles Birthright and Stand Tall. Now, ‘Stuck In Place’ signals a new era for the band as they gear up for their most ambitious release to date.

Lyrically, ‘Stuck In Place’ is a fierce statement on the suffocating realities of modern life. Vocalist Alan Jevens explains: “When I wrote ‘Stuck In Place’ I was thinking about the modern world, where we are now and what I believe is to come. The verses reflect the frustration of working endlessly just to survive in such an expensive time, while pointing to the corruption of governments and the consequences of unchecked greed.
The chorus speaks of what lies ahead, nuclear war, environmental collapse, but also the need to rise against those in power. The song travels through despair, rebellion, and the dream of a better world, tying into the broader narrative of our upcoming EP, Evolve.”

Musically, the track captures everything Following The Signs are about, massive riffs, towering breakdowns, searing screams and atmospheric cleans, all channelled into a visceral soundscape that reflects the chaos and hope within the lyrics.

The band will be bringing their new material to the stage with a string of live dates, including:
October 17th – Fibber Magees, Dublin
October 24th – Dali, Cork
November 8th – Scream for Me Festival, Cavan
November 15th – Pharmacia, Limerick
November 21st – Warsaw, Poland
November 22nd – Kraków, Poland

With ‘Stuck In Place’, Following The Signs prove they are not only one of Ireland’s most vital underground metal acts but a band with an urgent voice in today’s fractured world. Expect more details on the Evolve EP to be announced soon.

Following the Signs are:
Alan Jevens – Vocals
Noel Crowley – Guitars
Vincent Renoux – Guitars
Rory Taylor – Bass
Chris Hanlon – Drums

Gísli Gunnarsson Releases New Single And Video ‘Andlitin í Berginu’ – Haunting Tribute to Old Spirits Lost in Iceland’s Volcanic Upheaval

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 11, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Gísli Gunnarsson. Leave a comment

Icelandic composer Gísli Gunnarsson shares his new single “Andlitin í Berginu” (The Faces in the Rock), a tribute to the spirits and stone formations lost in the volcanic upheaval near Grindavík. The track is the second glimpse of his upcoming album ‘Úr Öskunni’, out November 7 via By Norse Music.

Stream and pre-order the album here: https://bfan.link/andlitin-i-berginu

Written from the perspective of two beloved rock formations, the song mourns their collapse during earthquakes. Gísli, who was forced to evacuate his home in Grindavík due to the ongoing volcanic activity, describes the loss as deeply personal:

“Like a lot of Icelanders, I’ve always loved spotting trolls in the lava fields, seeing shapes in the rocks that feel like old spirits watching over the land. There were two on Þorbjörn, near Grindavík, that I was really attached to. I called them the king and the servant. They felt like guardians in a way. But during the earthquakes, they came down the mountain. It honestly felt like I’d lost something sacred. So I wrote “Andlitin í Berginu” from their perspective, like their final thoughts, their voices echoing through the rock.”

The track captures their imagined final moments—stoic witnesses to the shifting land, now fallen and silent.

‘Úr Öskunni’,which translates to “From the Ashes,” is a deeply personal work born out of destruction. The emotional weight of the evacuation, the loss of home, and the psychological toll of this period became the canvas of the new full-length.

To mark the release, Gísli will perform a free concert on November 8 in collaboration with Iceland Airwaves, held at the church in the evacuated town of Grindavík. Find more information about the show HERE.

Hailing from the atmospheric landscapes of Iceland, Gísli Gunnarsson is a visionary composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work blurs genre boundaries—merging cinematic modern classical with the raw intensity of post-rock, black metal, and shoegaze.

It was the volcanic eruptions in his hometown of Grindavík that left the deepest mark on his new album ‘Úr Öskunni’. The forced evacuation, the destruction of his home, and the psychological aftermath of months of earthquakes and instability became the canvas of the new full-length. Music, during this time, became more than expression—it became refuge.

Whether confronting grief or escaping it, Gísli Gunnarsson crafts sonic experiences that serve as a diary—never explicitly literal, but always deeply felt. This approach became central to his latest body of work, shaped by profound personal upheaval.

“Heima”, was written shortly after Gísli was forced to relocate to a remote summerhouse provided by the Red Cross.

“Isolation and trauma were starting to set in. The message and emotions behind the song are simply the grief and yearning for home,” he explains.

A quiet elegy to familiarity, “Heima” evokes the grief and disorientation of losing a lifelong anchor point—place, identity, and safety.

Offering a more hopeful tone, “Glókolla”, is named after a term of endearment for bright-haired children, it was inspired by the overwhelming support Gísli received from loved ones and the broader Icelandic community.

“My girlfriend at the time was the initial spark for this song. I had been calling her Glókolla because of her blonde hair—it’s a word we often use fondly. But it became something much bigger. Iceland really came together to support the people of Grindavík, and this song reflects that collective love.”

“Andlitin í Berginu” (The Faces in the Rock), dives deep into Icelandic folklore.

“Like many Icelanders, I see trolls in the lava fields. There were two trolls in particular on top of Þorbjörn, a mountain near Grindavík. I called them the King and the Servant. I grew up hiking there and loved them.”

Both formations collapsed during the earthquakes, a loss Gísli processed through music. The track imagines the world from their ancient gaze—stoic witnesses to the land’s shifting fury, now silenced.

With ‘Úr Öskunni’, Gísli also shifts his approach to music as a solo composer whereas he has previously become known for his collaborative works. In 2023, the artist released the collaborative album Mementos, a series of emotionally resonant musical snapshots that earned acclaim for their depth and intimacy. Featuring contributions from Georg Holm (Sigur Rós), Mat McNerney (Hexvessel, Grave Pleasures), and Laufey Soffía (Kælan Mikla), the album was named to Bandcamp’s New & Notable list.

Following Mementos, Gísli collaborated with one of his formative influences—Alcest. Their joint 2024 single, “Wings of Glass”, featured Neige and Winterhalter, paving the way for Gísli’s contributions to Alcest’s Les Chants de l’Aurore, where he provided choral vocals, arrangements, and production elements.

Whether collaborating with revered artists or composing in solitude amid volcanic trauma, Gísli Gunnarsson’s music is shaped by landscape, loss, and love—an evolving reflection of the forces, both natural and emotional, that continue to define him.

FABIENNE ERNI Releases New Song ‘Stone by Stone’ with Music Video

“Stone by Stone” is the new single and music video from heavy music vocalist and musician FABIENNE ERNI (Eluveitie, Illumishade). As a chapter on the road to her debut album, the song reflects on the walls humans tend to build around themselves, while still longing for connection. Watch and listen to the song here!

Best known as the singer of Eluveitie and Illumishade, Erni has already lent her distinctive voice to countless stages and recordings around the world. Yet these releases mark the beginning of a new musical sphere: for the first time, her most personal artistic vision takes center stage. Rooted in her passion for storytelling and her love for musical diversity: from metal to ballads, Disney classics and film soundtracks – her solo work reflects both artistic openness and fierce creative instinct.

Sky’s Breath and Stone by Stone are the openers of a whole series of singles planned throughout 2025, leading to a full-length debut album in 2026. Supported by music videos and international campaigns, listeners are invited into a musical universe that is as bold as it is intimate; a reflection of Fabienne Erni’s creative essence and fiery heart.

Fabienne shares about the new song: “‘Stone by Stone’ is about the way we build walls around our pain. Every memory, every silence becomes part of that wall. And yet, somewhere inside it, we’re still hoping to be found. This song is very close to my heart because it came from a place of trying to find light again, step by step, it is a quiet reminder that healing takes time and strength.”

Fabienne Erni is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Switzerland; best known for her work in  Folk Metal sensation Eluveitie, and the founding of the genre-transcending modern metal band ILLUMISHADE. At around 13 years old, Erni first discovered a love for singing, inspired by multi-range artists like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Sarah Connor and Whitney Houston. Later on, she  began expressing her love for music more deeply through the piano. Her enthusiasm for storytelling and music thrived through musical theatre releases, ballads, Disney Songs and Film  soundtracks. But it was the moment she witnessed Elton John’s “Aida” musical as a teenager in  Stuttgart, Germany that truly solidified her desire to become a singer.

Her passion for music continued to thrive into adulthood, and after high school she studied Complete Vocal Technique in Copenhagen; learning not only to refine her vocal technique, but  also to connect more deeply with her voice, allowing it to grow stronger and more expressive than  ever before.

With school behind her, Erni took time to travel, journeying through places like India, Nepal, and  Thailand. At age 20, she eventually settled in the far north of Sweden to study music for a year in  the town of Haparanda. Here, her fascination for both the language and the land energized her;  an experience that not only shaped her personally, but also helped her grow immensely in musical  confidence. Shortly after, Fabienne was accepted at Zurich’s ZHdK where she obtained her  master’s degrees in Pop music. It was during her studies here that she met Jonas Wolf, who  recognized that she would be an exciting fit for Eluveitie and successfully connected her to the  band. She became part of the group not only as a vocalist, but also took up the harp and deepened  both her vocal expression and her connection to the Gaulish language at the heart of the band’s Celtic spirit.

After a warm welcome to the metal scene, Erni formed ILLUMISHADE in 2019 together with her  by then close musical sparring partner Jonas Wolf, as well as Mirjam Skal, Yannick Urbanczik,  and Marc Friedrich – three exceptional musicians and close friends she had met during her  studies. In 2020, ILLUMISHADE released their debut album ‘ECLYPTIC: Wake of Shadows’, a  concept record that resonated across the internet with its inspirational music and brought together  both new and familiar listeners, primarily through its visionary sound, but also through the  immersive world it built around it. Since then, ILLUMISHADE has taken their place in the scene,  signing with Napalm Records, and releasing their second album: Another Side of You. Beyond  that, the band continues to captivate global audiences with regular international tours and festival  appearances across Europe and North America.

As Erni manages her time alongside touring the globe with Eluveitie and ILLUMISHADE, she also  hosts her own Patreon channel, connecting with a vibrant community of fans worldwide. It’s no surprise that her dedication and musical instinct have led her to explore additional instruments, including the ukulele and bouzouki, while also expanding her vocal skillset with techniques like  screaming. Thanks to her distinctive voice and artistic openness, Fabienne has also been invited  to contribute to a wide range of musical collaborations, such as with Feuerschwanz, Mortemia,  TVINNA, Lindsay Schoolcraft, The Dark Side of the Moon, Temperance, Seas on the Moon and  Off the Cross. Together with multi-instrumentalist and producer Vadim ‘Vidick’ Ojog of Infected  Rain, the two expand their creative synergy in a new studio project called MINDNOVA, following  their earlier work on a variety of beautiful tracks for Vidick’s side project ANOTHERKIND.

Having journeyed through a rich and varied musical landscape throughout her life, lending  her voice to countless powerful moments both on stage and in the studio, Erni now stands  at the threshold of a new chapter. For the first time, her most personal artistic vision will  take center stage as she begins shaping her solo debut. A first series of singles is set to  unfold in 2025, with a full album planned for release in 2026. Rooted deeply in her artistic  vision and fiery heart, the songs reflect a diverse and dynamic creative output, through  which she invites the world to explore her own musical universe alongside her.

What lies ahead is more than just a collection of songs – it is a reflection of Fabienne Erni’s creative essence.

OMNIVIDE Celebrate Release of New “Arise” EP with Single + Animated Video for Title Track

Canadian progressive metal band Omnivide return with their most ambitious work to date; the stunning new EP Arise, out today, 10th October, via Seek & Strike. To mark the release, the band have unveiled an official animated video for the EP’s title track, available to watch below.

Order Arise EP here: https://orcd.co/omnividearise

Arise showcases Omnivide at their most confident and creative, blending precision, power and melody in equal measure. The band’s signature technicality meets soaring orchestral arrangements and dynamic songwriting, pushing the boundaries of progressive metal while remaining deeply engaging and accessible.

Omnivide state: “Our second single, ‘Arise,’ is the concluding track of the EP and it fits that role well, being a longer, more progressive piece. It focuses on the orchestral and melodic sides of our sound while maintaining intensity and technicality throughout. It also features the most clean vocals of any song we’ve done, making it the most emotional track and a fitting conclusion to the record. We chose to feature it as a single because it displays our more progressive and melodic sides, in contrast with ‘Void’ that is more brutal and in-your-face.”

Watch the video for previous single ‘Void’ here.

With Arise, Omnivide elevate the sonic palette laid out in their 2024 debut album A Tale of Fire. That record, self-produced and refined over years, fused progressive, melodic, death and symphonic metal to critical acclaim and launched the band’s rise, featuring an extensive tour across Canada and resulting in nominations for Music NB Awards in ‘Breakthrough Artist’ and ‘Song of the Year’ categories. Their signing with Seek & Strike later that year signalled their growing international momentum.

Now with Arise, the group raise the stakes, pushing deeper into progressive and symphonic territory while maintaining the technical edge that has become their signature. Drawing influence from acts such as Between The Buried and Me, Opeth and TesseracT, Omnivide fuse brutality and beauty in equal measure.

The band add: “Arise is a major evolution from our debut album A Tale of Fire. We took the elements we loved most from that first release and cranked them up another level. We really wanted to outdo ourselves on this one and we all felt ready to make something better in a shorter time frame. People can expect more techy riffs, bigger orchestral arrangements, more progressive song structures and more clean singing to complement the harsh vocals. The EP also has a lot of ups and downs in intensity, going from all-out brutal riffs to chilled-out, subdued clean sections throughout each song.”

With Arise, Omnivide push themselves further than ever, delivering a thrilling balance of technicality, melody and emotional depth. The EP cements their reputation as one of the most exciting rising forces in modern progressive metal.

Track-list:

1. Prelude
2. Void
3. Tyrannical Saviour
4. Omnipotent
5. Arise

THE RASMUS Team with THEORY OF A DEADMAN’s Tyler Connolly for New Version of ‘Creatures Of Chaos’

Finnish 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified, record-breaking rockers THE RASMUS (@therasmusofficial) have teamed with Theory of A Deadman’s lead singer Tyler Connolly to release an exciting new version of THE RASMUS’ powerful outsider anthem “Creatures of Chaos.” Out today (October 10), this notably marks THE RASMUS’ first US rock radio single. Listen to the song HERE and watch the lyric video HERE.

Back in March, THE RASMUS—Lauri Ylönen (vocals), Emppu Suhonen (guitars), Eero Heinonen (bass), and Aki Hakala (drums)—originally released “Creatures of Chaos.” The track was the second single from their 11th studio album, WEIRDO, which arrived September 12 via Better Noise Music (the band’s first for the label) and Playground Music. The album, as well as limited-edition merchandise bundles, are available now HERE.

”Tyler [Connolly] is an amazing singer and he added a new dimension to the song,” says frontman Lauri Ylönen. “This song is one of our best from the new album and it’s so cool that it gets some spotlight now.”

Tyler Connolly shares: “I got asked to guest sing on this Rasmus song and once I heard it, I was like, ‘Heck Yeah’!  Loved the track and love the band! Really enjoyed the back-and-forth verses between us, and it truly rocks! Now I got to get myself to Finland!!!”

Lauri explains that “Creatures of Chaos” is a “global shout out and an invitation to all misfits and anyone out there who’s ever felt like an outsider to join us! It was one of the first songs, and that’s kind of how the album title came about.  It’s also about accepting people as they are, which in this world is getting much harder for people to do. For me, it’s more personal: I sing like I could have been a soldier, but I’m afraid of guns. I could have been this or that, but I wasn’t strong enough to be those. My job is to do this. And I’m singing to one fan in the front row, giving her or him strength to carry on. It’s another kind of hero.”

“Creatures of Chaos” is “also about the pressure of social media,” elaborates Lauri. “People feel like by 25 they need to have money, investments, be somebody. A lot of people are scared of growing up. I’ve always gained strength from being the underdog, and I love that. It keeps me going.”

Known for their musically dark atmospheres, the band subversively merges catchy modern pop stylings with stadium-sized guitar crunch throughout the songs on WEIRDO. THE RASMUS celebrated the September 12 album release by teaming up with The Funeral Portrait singer Lee Jennings for the title track and accompanying video. Listen to “Weirdo” HERE and watch the video HERE (it has over 255k views).

The album’s other previous singles are:
· “Love Is A Bitch”: Listen HERE and view the video HERE (over 136k views).
· “Break These Chains”: Listen HERE and watch the video HERE (over 812k views).
· “Creatures of Chaos”: Listen to the original version HERE and watch the video HERE (over 952k views).
· “Rest In Pieces”: Listen to the song HERE and view the lyric video HERE (over 693k views).

Static Noise Mag called WEIRDO “…one of their best records yet. There are so many layers to this record, it blends a modern rock edge with flashes of 80s-inspired synths, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh…Taken as a whole, WEIRDO is solid from start to finish, an album that fuses nostalgic echoes of THE RASMUS’ early 2000s sound with modern rock production and flashes of ‘80s-inspired synth. Every track feels alive with creative, sharply written lyrics and the kind of emotional depth the band has always excelled at. It’s a record that proves THE RASMUS are still evolving while staying true to their roots, and it leaves you immediately wanting more.”

THE RASMUS will bring their unforgettable stage show to audiences worldwide throughout 2025 on the “Weirdo Tour”; shows for 2026 are starting to be confirmed. The band recently concluded a month-long U.S. trek with The Funeral Portrait and their own North American headlining tour. Tickets are on sale now for its European leg (9/12 – 12/6), as well as their 2026 shows; see the full dates listed below.

With WEIRDO, THE RASMUS once again proves why they remain a force to be reckoned with in the rock world. In their native Finland, where they are the reigning #1 rock band, THE RASMUS stands at #1 on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram and Deezer as far as followers, views, likes and streams. It is often said that the best bands are the ones which keep surprising you time and time again, in the most thrilling of ways. This is something that the 6x Platinum and 8x Gold-certified band have been doing since their major label debut and a creative responsibility they take great pride in. If you’ve listened to any of their albums, you’ll be able to hear a kaleidoscopic collage of heavy guitars against futuristic electronics, as well as pop hooks that can find their way into the heart of any kind of music fan. As a direct result, they’ve become one of Finland’s greatest musical exports, selling millions of records worldwide and winning award after award.
