Obscure Fate was originally formed in 2008 in Paltamo, Finland, as the solo project of guitarist and songwriter Kaleva Kovalainen. In 2009, drummer Jari Keränen and bassist Petri Möttönen joined, giving the songs their first real band form. Shortly after, guitarist Joni Moisanen and vocalist Tapio Möttönen became official members, and together the group arranged dozens of tracks for full band performances. From the very beginning, Tapio handled the lyrics, with Petri contributing to the song Spectral Exile.

The current lineup was completed in 2019 when bassist Antti Möttönen replaced Petri. Musically, Obscure Fate is rooted in traditional melodic death metal, though elements of thrash and classic heavy metal also find their way into the band’s sound. Kaleva’s prolific songwriting provided a strong foundation for the band, while the lyrics explore themes of social criticism, fictional storytelling, and inner struggles.

In 2021, Obscure Fate released their first EP. Recording sessions for their debut full-length album began soon after, but due to various setbacks the process turned into a long and seemingly endless project. Finally, in April 2025, the band reached the final stages of completing the album, marking an important milestone in their journey. The debut album ‘Shades of a Dying World’ is set to be released later in 2026 via Inverse Records.

Nordic’s fiercest — and perhaps the only — torchbearer of “Scandinavian action metal,” Mørket, returns after a five-year wait with their long-awaited third album Del III: Dödsångestens fågelsång (“The Birdsong of Death Anxiety”).

With their previous full-lengths (Musta luonto, 2016 and Orto, 2020), the band won praise and admiration from both audiences and critics. Their fusion of black metal and punk energy has matured through years of struggle and perseverance. Born out of global turmoil and personal upheaval, this album channels raw experience into re-forged anthems of defiance.

The title, Del III: Dödsångestens fågelsång (“The Birdsong of Death Anxiety”), captures the spirit of the record.

“It’s about cutting ties with the past, burying the world’s suffering, and rising from years of adversity into a new era, a new world, and new possibilities,” declares vocalist Erik Sigvard.

Musically, the album reveals a more refined and mature Mørket: streamlined in expression, yet lyrically more powerful than ever. The arrival of guitarist Arttu Hurme brought fresh vitality to the band’s sound with razor-sharp riffs and songwriting. The lyrics continue the unique interplay between Finnish and Swedish that distinguished their previous album.

Renowned for their explosive live shows, Mørket conquered both Finnish venues and international stages with their last release — from Norway’s Inferno Metal Festival to Germany’s massive Summer Breeze. With Del III: Dödsångestens fågelsång, the band is armed and ready once more to bring their blistering live assault to audiences at home and abroad.

Legendary rockers TESLA have announced brand-new tour dates for January 2026 as they roll out the next chapter of their highly successful Keepin’ It Real Tour — now aptly titled Still Keepin’ It Real.

The band has spent the past year bringing their Keepin’ It Real Tour to sold-out venues nationwide. Beginning in January, TESLA will hit the road again with the Still Keepin’ It Real Tour. Fans are encouraged to grab them early before they sell out.

About TESLA

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like Bad Company, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from Tesla include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release new material including 9 new albums since 2000. Most recently, they debuted the single “All About Love,” featured on their All About Love EP—now available as a special edition collector’s 12″ vinyl. They also celebrated two highly successful Record Store Day events since their last residency, with both volumes of their limited-edition double LPs, Real 2 Reel Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, completely selling out. Both are cover song studio albums that pay homage to classic rock tunes from the late 1960s and early 1970s. TESLA brings their unique touch to these iconic tracks, recorded using analog tape and vintage equipment, with a dedication to preserving the raw, authentic sound of the era.
