Evil Scarecrow triumphantly return with their 5th studio album “Silicon Tea“.

We live in turbulent times where what we need more than ever is a bit of light entertainment, but even Evil Scarecrow can’t fail to address some of the more serious issues of the moment, be it our inadvertent servitude to corporate overlords, or the likelihood of Armageddon being kickstarted by a failure to update software. However, they also bring your attention back to the more fundamental problems of daily life, like bad weather at festivals and the challenge of trying to figure out which of your bins is supposed to be put out this week.

Dr Hell comments: “We really wanted to write an album that brings together our varied tastes and love for heavy music. We have leaned into pop punk with “Green Bin Day”, rewound to the 80s with “The Future Machine”, and god only knows what genre “Welly in the Mud” is… Brown Metal? I dunno. Anyway, we hope there is something for everyone, or nothing for no-one, or everything for one very weird person. But it’s an album that we, as a band, are very proud of.”

STONETRIP Release New Single And Video ‘Postcards’

Melbourne hard rock outfit Stonetrip are back with their brand-new single ‘Postcards’, out now via Golden Robot Records.

The band comments: “Postcards” is a heartfelt reflection on love and distance – a story rooted in a time before mobile phones and social media, when couples relied on handwritten postcards to bridge the gap. The song captures the raw emotion of long-distance relationships and the heartbreak of breakups carried out across miles. Without face-to-face connection or eye contact, all that’s left is brutal honesty from afar, the words that sometimes get lost along the way. The making of the song included the whole band. We all went into the studio as a band to create our parts. Ricki Rae (producer) who knows our signature sound is a great influence in how the song ends up sounding. The video was made with the help of two great actors up in the hills of Olinda, Melbourne, Australia. It was the first time we storyboard the video clip. We usually just wing it. It tells the song perfectly.”

Finntroll Frontman Mathias ‘Vreth’ Lillmåns Releases Long-Lost Tracks from His Formative Years

Mathias Lillmåns, known for his work with Finntroll and numerous other projects, celebrates 30 years in metal with The Degenerate Years. LISTEN HERE. The 3-track EP, released September 26 under his solo monicker Lillmåns via Finnish independent label Stormbound Records, follows last month’s Twilight Moon – The Forgotten Recordings and continues an ongoing series of archival releases.

Degenerate represented a shift in intensity and ambition from Lillmåns’ earlier bands. “Degenerate is where it all got real,” he recalls. “The band had fast picking, progressive rhythms, elaborate guitar solos and melodies, and a groove and drive I had never experienced before first hand.” Recorded in 2002 during his first year studying sound engineering, the tracks capture both a young band pushing boundaries and Lillmåns’ earliest attempts at working in a recording studio environment. “The songs Blinded and Displacement are from that session, my first ever recording of a full band in a professional studio,” he explains. Aside from handling the recording duties, Lillmåns played the bass and sang backing vocals, while lead vocals were taken care of by Jakob Ericsson.

With The Degenerate Years and Twilight Moon – The Forgotten Recordings, Lillmåns lays the groundwork for a full-length retrospective album, bringing together rare and previously unheard material spanning three decades of metal history.

Remixed and remastered by Owe Inborr at Wolfthrone Studios, The Degenerate Years was released on September 26 on all major streaming platforms via Stormbound Records.

BLUTGOTT Release New Single ‘Demonslayer’, Feat. Tim “Ripper” Owens

A Heavy Metal anthem of the battle of righteous dragon angels and the savage demons of Hell Featuring the legendary Tim “Ripper” Owens – the powerhouse voice behind Judas Priest’s Jugulator, Demolition, and ’98 Live Meltdown – delivering vocals with unrelenting fury.

The song is taken from the upcoming BLUTGOTT studio album ‘Legions Of Metal’ which will be released on 10.10.2025.

The first dragons arose in Eden, born of purity and flame. They were bound to the righteous, radiant in their majesty, and so the world named them Dragon Angels. As the Firstborn they walked before all others, shaping the destiny of elves, teaching wisdom, and forging the foundations of Eden’s culture and civilization. Among them stand the Dragon Gods, beings of unfathomable might, guardians of elves and all righteous souls. Their sovereign rules from the blazing Throne of Fire, and his host is known as the Demonslayers.

Around the Fire Throne, a thousand dragons clad in biomechanical armor stand eternal vigil. Their bodies are living fortresses: impervious to flame, resistant to mortal weapons, and armed with the devastating firepower of entire armies. Their wings created out of razor-edged dragonsteel. True flight is granted by the surging plasma coursing through their draconic forms. To those who look upon them from afar, they streak across the heavens like meteors – celestial harbingers of wrath. When they descend, they fall like burning stars, unleashing storms of dragonfire and salvos of weapons that lay waste to all who stand against them.

Yet even in the crucible of close combat, their fury does not wane. Many Demonslayers bear enchanted blades etched with runes of banishment and death, each stroke a doom to demonkind. These weapons lie hidden within their very flesh, merging with scale and sinew, called forth only when the moment demands. Then, from within their titanic bodies, the swords ignite into form – gleaming, rune-lit, and thirsty for the blood of abominations.

The albums are regularly in the top 50 of the official German album charts.

The main man behind BLUTGOTT is singer and guitarist, creator of artworks and monsters, author of the World of Blood Gods: Thomas Gurrath. The guy who gave up his job as teacher to become a full time metal artist.

“Legions Of Metal” is coming on 10 October  – Three bloody discs of old-school Heavy Metal and Hard Rock.
