No one carries the torch for Norwegian black metal with the same fire as 1349.

Four years ago, when live music was just crawling out from the shadows of the pandemic, the Norwegian black metal torchbearers exploded onto the stage in front of a sold-out crowd in their native Oslo. Now, fans everywhere can experience the band’s signature aural hellfire in the flesh with Winter Mass. This new live album includes songs from across their imposing discography, including early classic “I Am Abomination”.

Watch 1349 perform “I Am Abomination” live in Oslo:

Winter Mass comes out November 28 on Season of Mist.

“I Am Abomination” first announced 1349 as a force to be reckoned in 2005 as the opening track from their landmark third album Hellfire. After two decades as a staple in the band’s set list, the song still blisters with unmatched speed on Winter Mass. Thrashing riffs and merciless blasts descend upon the Parakeet crowd like the black plague that bestow the band their name. “I will always be here / In all ways in all times“, snarls Ravn. What was once a proclamation is now a testament to their enduring firepower.

The same holds true for the album’s artwork, all of which bears the mark of Kim Diaz Holm. The Norwegian artist has captured more than 2,000 concerts, often while standing to the side of the stage. Holm has worked with larger-than-life artists like Abbath but developed a special connection with 1349 after drawing them at both Inferno Festival and Hulen in 2012. Over the past 13 years, he has continued to document the band’s incendiary live shows and even designed their merch. What he’s created for Winter Mass draws fans even closer to fire. Sketched while he was headbanging in the pit, these drawings leap off the page with the same raw, dark spirit as their muse.

Tracklist:
1. Enter Inferno (1:48)
2. Sculptor of Flesh (3:18)
3. Slaves (4:43)
4. Through Eyes of Stone (3:36)
5. Cauldron (5:34)
6. Striding the Chasm (5:56)
7. Chasing Dragons (7:15)
8. Serpentine Sibilance (5:00)
9. I Am Abomination (5:16)
10. Golem (1:38)
11. Atomic Chapel (8:17)
12. Dodskamp (5:39)
13. Abyssos Antithesis (7:08)
Total runtime: 1:05:07

With their signature aural hellfire, 1349 embody the original spirit of black metal.

Unhappy with the direction the genre took during the mid-90s, in 1997, vocalist Ravn formed the 1349 with like-minded bassist Seidemann. The band’s current lineup – which is bolstered by guitarist Archaon and Frost (who also drums for Satyricon) – has been in place since 2001. Over the past two decades, they have ignited major European festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Hellfest with their fiery performances and toured internationally with the likes of Celtic Frost, Cannibal Corpse and Carcass. Each of their eight studio albums have been inspired by the same guiding principal: to bring back the grimness, the eeriness and the primal emotions of Norwegian black metal.

Now, fresh from the ashes of their eighth album, The Wolf & The King, 1349 are releasing a new live album. Though recorded shortly after pandemic lockdown was lifted, Winter Mass explodes out the gates with the band’s signature aural hellfire. This hour-plus set, recorded at Oslo’s Parkteatret, enraptured their home crowd with apocalyptic spells from across their discography’s massive cauldron of chaos. Early classics like “Sculptor of Flesh” thrash with unchained madness. Recent favorite “Striding the Chasm” whips by at a blistering pace that could only be captured by cover artist Kim Diaz Holm, who drew the album’s artwork while headbanging in the pit.

“I will always be here / In all ways in all times“, snarls Ravn on hellacious cut “I Am Abomination”. After three decades and counting, what was once a proclamation is now a testament to 1349’s enduring firepower.

Experience aural hellfire live in the flesh back where it all began with Winter Mass.

CONSEQUENCE OF ENERGY Release New Video for ‘Into The Void’, Feat. Marko Zaror

Consequence of Energy is quickly establishing a promising career, sharing playlists with some of the biggest names in rock. Their debut single, “Freedom,” climbed into the Top 10 of the Greatest Gainers chart and currently sits at #17 on the SMR Mainstream/Active Rock Chart in the U.S.—ranking above Foo Fighters and Evanescence.

Building on that momentum, the band now presents the video for “Into The Void.” The powerful visuals serve as a symbolic reflection of inner struggle and the search for freedom. Rich in metaphors and imagery, the video explores life’s unfolding paths and the choices that allow us to break free from destructive cycles.

Shot in Pichilemu—the same city where their debut album was recorded—the video delivers an intense cinematic experience. Alongside the band, it features acclaimed actor Marko Zaror, known for his roles in Hollywood action films. More than 40 performers also appear, including aerial acrobats, fire artists, large-scale costumed figures, and models, creating a spectacle that blends circus, ritual, and contemporary cinema.

The production was directed by Vicente Rogers, with cinematography by Rodrigo Avilés, art direction by Stephany Bolton, and special effects by Poston Digital, supported by a top-tier technical team.

“Into The Void” is the second preview from the band’s debut album “We Are One,” recorded at Los Lobos Records with world-class producers: produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice Cooper), engineered by Dean Maher (AC/DC, KISS, Slayer), mixed by two-time Grammy winner Dave Schiffman (Smashing Pumpkins, Adele, Chris Cornell, Audioslave, System of a Down), and mastered by Howie Weinberg (20 Grammys; Nirvana, Deftones, Muse, Ramones, The Clash, Johnny Cash, Metallica, Pantera).

In early 2026, Consequence of Energy will perform before thousands at Lollapalooza Chile and release their debut album. The launch will include a limited-edition vinyl pressing with an anaglyph 3D cover, designed to create an immersive experience.

The band will also drop their new single, “Searching for Light,” on Friday, October 17 across all digital platforms.

Consequence of Energy is composed of Rodrigo “Roli” Cortés (former guitarist of Rekiem), Diego Sagredo (former guitarist of The Reaktion), vocalist Michael Bianchi, Pedro Santander (former bassist of Sangre Aborigen), and drummer Amaru López (Plumas, ex-Moral Distraída), all respected musicians in the Latin American rock scene.

With its mix of cinematic synth layers, symphonic textures, and heavy guitars, “Electric Sheep” captures The Wave and the Particle’s signature fusion of industrial rock, symphonic metal, and progressive rock. The song explores the pull of collective thinking in the digital age and the loss of individuality in the face of ideological conformity. The video tells this story through the journey of a painter in a black-and-white world who, drawn into a powerful movement, loses his sense of self and becomes one with the faceless crowd.

Evil Scarecrow triumphantly return with their 5th studio album “Silicon Tea“.

We live in turbulent times where what we need more than ever is a bit of light entertainment, but even Evil Scarecrow can’t fail to address some of the more serious issues of the moment, be it our inadvertent servitude to corporate overlords, or the likelihood of Armageddon being kickstarted by a failure to update software. However, they also bring your attention back to the more fundamental problems of daily life, like bad weather at festivals and the challenge of trying to figure out which of your bins is supposed to be put out this week.

Dr Hell comments: “We really wanted to write an album that brings together our varied tastes and love for heavy music. We have leaned into pop punk with “Green Bin Day”, rewound to the 80s with “The Future Machine”, and god only knows what genre “Welly in the Mud” is… Brown Metal? I dunno. Anyway, we hope there is something for everyone, or nothing for no-one, or everything for one very weird person. But it’s an album that we, as a band, are very proud of.”

As ever, Evil Scarecrow bring you an eclectic mix of influences with a huge dose of absurd humour, what more could you ask for?

Premature Obsolescence Tour Tickets are on sale now, support for all dates is Andrew O’Neill
This tour will support the release of Evil Scarecrow’s long awaited 5th studio album “Silicon Tea”, out now via Deadbox Records.

With new songs comes a new show, and the band are busy in the ‘Crow’s Nest Garden Shed working on new ridiculous props and absurd video ideas. Keep an eye on the band socials for a sneak peek behind the scenes!

The band are delighted to have the hilarious and wonderful Andrew O’Neill joining them for this tour. Andrew is an award-winning comedian, musician and author of “A History of Heavy Metal”, if you’ve not seen Andrew perform before you are in for a real treat!
