Vox Cardinalis Productions presents From The Depths, the debut EP from Antrum of Void, a duo featuring The Cardinal (Black Flame, Adversam, Imperium Omega) and Subconscious (The Catechists). Bringing together musicians with different backgrounds, the project explores a dark and uncompromising sonic territory, where the crushing weight of extreme doom meets the atmosphere of black metal.
From The Depths creates a dense, oppressive soundscape, combining the sheer heaviness of doom with the tension and darkness of black metal. The result is an unsettling journey into deep, shadowy sonic realms: a vortex that pulls the listener in and carries them towards a world with no apparent way out.
The EP’s character is also shaped by the recording process. Captured live and without the use of modern digital elements, the music retains an immediate, stripped-back quality. This approach places the raw sonic material front and centre, drawing the listener further into the dark world of Antrum of Void.
From The Depths is available for download and on digital platforms. A limited cassette edition will be available soon.
CHRIS HARMS, known for his musical versatility and as frontman for German number one-charting band LORD OF THE LOST, continues his solo art with the release of APORIA, out on January 22, 2027, via Napalm Records. The date also marks his birthday, already giving a hint at the very personal nature of the new full-length.
With his solo debut, 1980, released in February 2025 and entering the Top 10 of the official German album charts, the Hamburg-based musician, producer, and songwriter saw a long-cherished dream of producing an album entirely with 80’s gear finally come to life. APORIA builds on that foundation, exploring more modern electronics, eclectic soundscapes, and synth-driven realms beyond his main band’s sound. Alongside the announcement, Harms unveils “Find What You Love And Let It Kill You,” a track with a dark and evocative atmosphere that explores how true passion can come at a price, a blazing fire that might ultimately consume you. The song is now available on all streaming services.
APORIA will be available in various physical formats, including a limited box set featuring a very special bonus CD in digisleeve format.
New Single, “Find What You Love And Let It Kill You” is out now: ListenHERE
APORIA is the first record Harms produced in his new rooms at Boogie Park Studios in Hamburg, following his move from Chameleon Studios after several years there in spring 2026. It serves as a melting pot of feelings and emotions, reflected in both its title and album artwork. The album title originates from the Ancient Greek word “ἀπορία,” which describes dealing with an unresolvable problem. In philosophy and rhetoric, it refers to a moment when reasoning seems to hit an impassable barrier; a kind of deliberate, thought-provoking uncertainty. The artwork, created by VDPictures, features a Penrose Triangle, an optical illusion that defies conventional geometry. The title APORIA mirrors this sense of paradox and mystery, hinting at an album that embraces ambiguity and challenges listeners to explore the boundaries of perception, much like the impossible object on its cover.
With APORIA, CHRIS HARMS offers the deepest insight, fully taking the risk of making himself vulnerable in the process. Combined with his distinctive musical approach and signature craftsmanship, this is what transforms the record into a sonic diary and makes it one of the most significant works in his artistic discography.
APORIAtracklisting:
U† I†
Find What You Love And Let It Kill You
Skipped A Beat (feat. Erk Aicrag)
Diamond Death
Tears Of A Nun
You Are Not What You See (feat. Ryan Shuck)
The Unholiest
Hallo Depression (feat. SWISS)
The Only Word You Know
On A Dreamless Night
Dear Time
For Harms personally, APORIA also represents an opportunity to look back and to honestly confront his inner self, and connect with what lies within the here and now. The album delves into the questions that would be far easier and far more comfortable to push aside. But that is not what CHRIS HARMS does on APORIA. Instead, he faces past mistakes and their consequences and the people that might have gotten hurt. All this is resulting in a deeply personal and sincere record that requires little explanation. When the music is given the space it deserves, it speaks for itself. Sonically, APORIA follows Harms’ credo of not following at all but simply doing whatever feels right. Rather than continuing the 80s-inspired sound that defined his debut, the second album takes a much darker, less extroverted approach. Or, perhaps, one that goes deeper precisely for that reason. The opening track “U† I†” (You die, I die) sets the tone with a pulsing industrial sound underscoring somber lyrics. The straightforward “Skipped A Beat” features Hocico/Rabia Sorda vocalist Erk Aicrag, the first of three guest appearances on APORIA. The second comes from US synth-rock band Julien-K (successor to the legendary band ORGY) on “You Are Not What You See,” followed by Hamburg fellow artist SWISS (SWISS + DIE ANDERN) on “Hallo Depression,” the record’s only track performed in German. “On A Dreamless Night” conjures up inner demons, while the closing “Dear Time” reads like an honest letter and a personal statement, reflecting on past mistakes and pleading for a chance to somehow change things retrospectively.

From the shadowed ranks of ORDO VAMPYR ORIENTIS comes BEFOULED MALEDICTION, a new project devoted to the darker corners of black metal and occult storytelling. Its debut record, “Desperate Necromancy”, follows a warlock whose world is shattered by the sudden death of his beloved, sending him beyond the boundaries of mortal knowledge in search of a way to reverse the inevitable.
What begins in grief gradually turns toward forbidden rites, necromancy and the dangerous conviction that death itself can be defied. “Desperate Necromancy” gives this descent a suitably spectral setting, combining aggressive yet melodic black metal with an atmosphere that recalls the dim chambers, ancient manuscripts and solitary wanderings of dungeon synth. The music remains sharp and purposeful, allowing the narrative to emerge through melody, tension and shifting shades of darkness rather than excessive theatrics.
As part of the ever-changing ORDO VAMPYR ORIENTIS collective, BEFOULED MALEDICTION features associates also active in BAT MAGIC, BAD MANOR, BENEATH MOONLIGHT and other related projects.
“Desperate Necromancy” will be available digitally through Bandcamp and Ampwall on October 30, followed by a limited LP edition via Ixiol Productions and Dawnbreed Records on November 13.
The first single “Ritual” is now streaming via Invisible Oranges at THIS LOCATION.

The brand new single from legendary guitarist Tony Iommi is released today. Entitled ‘Stormwatcher’ it rides on a signature guitar riff from the man who was the driving musical force behind Black Sabbath’s garlanded career.
‘Stormwatcher’ has a maritime theme, based around a ship stuck in a storm, accompanied by a dramatic animated video, bringing the lyrics and imagery of vocalist Jørn Lande to life. “It channels something from within, something real,” Lande explains, describing how the lyrics tell a powerful story about struggles and sorrow as life voyages from birth to death, and beyond. “We are the captain of our own vessel, a ship crashing through unknown and sometimes challenging waters, always navigating forward, steering steady through every storm, driven by dreams of new horizons and longing for something new.”
One of numerous highlights from the remarkable album, From The Dark, ‘Stormwatcher’ perfectly captures the dark atmospheres and yearning passions that permeate the record. Tony Iommi is joined throughout by Lande, who shares writing credits on all songs, as well as bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil.
Co-produced by Tony and Mike Exeter, his long-time creative partner, co-writer, producer and audio engineer, it is an outstanding album that sits proudly within the impressive Iommi catalogue.

Tony Iommi is widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in modern music. As the founding member and primary composer of Black Sabbath, Iommi is credited with helping create the sound and vocabulary of heavy metal.
Iommi’s contributions have been recognised with multiple Grammy Awards, induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and honorary academic distinctions in the UK. He was awarded a doctorate from Coventry University, a Lord Mayor’s Award and the Freedom of the city of Birmingham. Most recently, in June 2026 he has been awarded an MBE, one of the highest honours in British public life.
In his youth, Iommi overcame a serious industrial accident that cost him the tips of two fingers—an event that led him to develop a distinctive playing style and the darker, heavier guitar tone that defined Black Sabbath’s music. Formed with Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, the band released pioneering albums throughout the 1970s and became one of the most culturally significant British exports of the era.
Across his six-decade career, Iommi has continued to record, perform and collaborate internationally. He worked extensively with the late Ronnie James Dio, released acclaimed solo material, and reunited with the original Black Sabbath lineup for the chart-topping 2013 album 13 and the global farewell tour The End (2016–2017) which played to 1.6m fans.
In recent years, his work has expanded notably into broader cultural spheres. In 2023 he collaborated with the Birmingham Royal Ballet on Black Sabbath – The Ballet, a groundbreaking production based on his early compositions. Black Sabbath headlined 2025’s monumental metal show ‘Back To The Beginning’ in Birmingham, an all-encompassing show revisiting Black Sabbath’s origins and a poignant farewell to fans, that took place just a few weeks before the death of his bandmate Ozzy Osbourne.

Belgian atmospheric black doom band Splendidula unveils the lyric video for Donkerte from their album Absentia, which was released in April 2026 by Argonauta Records. A song about an empty existence, fading hope, and the longing for eternal rest.
Splendidula’s fourth album opens a new chapter in the band’s history. Written in the aftermath of the loss of several loved ones, including bassist Peter Chromiak in 2022, the album is shaped by themes of grief, depression, and loss. Splendidula blends black metal and doom with fragile atmospheric passages, drenched in grief and sorrow.
The band comments:“The title Donkerte means “darkness” in Dutch. The song grew from riffs originally written by our former bassist Peter Chromiak, who passed away in 2022. Peter named the song ‘Donkerte’, and we chose to keep the name while completing it in honour of his memory. Through Donkerte, a part of Peter continues to live on in our music. Lyrically, the song delves into an endless darkness, an overwhelming sense of isolation and hopelessness, where death begins to feel like the only escape. It captures the feeling of being consumed by darkness, with no light or way out in sight.”

STORMRULER has announced their forthcoming full length offering, Morning Nautical Twilight, for release on December 4, 2026, viaDistortion Music Group (DMG) – Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music. The US-hailing black metal duo weave epic narrative storytelling through the track list of Morning Nautical Twilight. Alongside the album announcement, the band presents the first single, “Chapter II: In The Eye Of Umbria.”
Vocalist and guitarist Jason Asberry comments on the new single release: “We chose ‘In The Eye Of Umbria’ as the first single off of our new album Morning Nautical Twilight for a few reasons. It’s the second chapter in the Imperial Chronicles but the first that takes place in present day Aurelia, a realm spanning several thousand years with a vast history and many conflicts. It immediately introduces the listener to a few important characters within the world and sets the stage for the rest of the story.
Secondly, it’s a very standout track amongst the record. We explore a few new corners of our sound that we haven’t in the past but do so in true STORM fashion. It has the raw and driving rhythms of our heavy metal heroes, the mountainous and soaring leads that are heavily laden throughout this record while also keeping true to the many folk sounds that we hold dearly. We’re very proud of this record and can’t wait for you all to explore the pages of Morning Nautical Twilight.”
Emerging from the gloom in a high-paced fury, “Chapter II: In The Eye Of Umbria” traverses through shadowy progressions in an untamable arrangement. Jason Asberry’s intricate guitar leads entwine through the driving momentum while ferocious shrieks unleash soar above, piercing through Jesse Schobel’s explosive percussion. Musically, “Chapter II: In The Eye Of Umbria” incorporates a stylistic shift into groove-led rhythms and folk-inspired melodies, situating the track firmly in the immersive fantasy worldbuilding of Morning Nautical Twilight.
About STORMRULER: Born out of St. Louis, MO, the ferocious black metal duo STORMRULER is comprised of guitarist and vocalist Jason Asberry and drummer Jesse Schobel. Captivated by fantasy realms, the band’s imagery and sonic design draw from this theme entwined with historical elements.
The debut album Under The Burning Eclipse emerged in 2021, released via Napalm Records. This full-length was followed in quick succession by the sophomore offering, Sacred Rites & Black Magick, also via Napalm Records in 2022.
In 2026, STORMRULER signed to Distortion Music Group (DMG) – Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music, releasing the standalone single “Dark Age Of Deception.” Plunging into a dark and immersive shroud of atmospheric layers and commanding intensity, “Dark Age Of Deception” signified the beginning of the band’s next incarnation.
With the unveiling of “Chapter II: In The Eye Of Umbria,” STORMRULER’s forthcoming full length Morning Nautical Twilight delves further into epic fantastical realms placing powerful storytelling at the core of their music.
