Greek extreme‑metal veterans NIGHTFALL are set to embark on the Morbidfest 2025 EU Tour. Celebrated for forging a “Mediterranean way to black metal”, melding gothic, melodic death, and symphonic black elements, Nightfall return to the stage after the release of their eleventh studio album, Children of Eve.

Their latest opus, Children of Eve, stands as a defining statement in Nightfall’s storied career. Blending raw brutality with gothic atmosphere and intricate composition, the album showcases the band’s evolution into a force of depth, ferocity, and melodic finesse. It is both a testament to their legacy and a bold step into new artistic territory.

Live, Nightfall’s performances continue to impress. During their 2021 Athens show at Gagarin, Rockpages lauded it as “an awesome show, worthy of the expectations of everyone who was that night at Gagarin”. That same dynamic energy is set to return—and intensify—across European venues this autumn.

For more than three decades, NIGHTFALL have stood alongside Rotting Christ and Septicflesh as the pioneering trinity of Greek metal. The legendary Athenian death metal band sound as vengeful as ever. But backed by monumental production and a powerful message, their eleventh studio album stands as their darkest and most epic creation yet. Children of Eve is here to unite blackened souls everywhere.

“I love how this album came out”, Nightfall’s founder Efthimis Karadimas says. “We’re excited to play these songs live. The sound is massive. The choruses are huge. And there’s a message that comes through. It’s an album about how we come through pain, how we live with pain, and how we die in pain”.

A Living Legacy of Greek Metal

Since their formation in 1991, Nightfall have remained a beacon for Greek metal. “Well, here is one of the rare, original bands”, wrote Angry Metal Guy. Like the scorching sun over their homeland, the Athenians rose from the underground alongside Rotting Christ and Septicflesh, though they were the first to sign an international record deal.

“Nightfall proves with “Children of Eve” that they’re fairly considered as one of the pioneers of the Hellenic Metal scene” says Rotting Christ frontman Sakis Tolis. “The fact that they create wonderful albums like this one make them legends that still have things to say! Congratulations for this new creation!”

Over the years, the crew around Efthimis has changed frequently. But while Nightfall did enjoy a short but successful stint with Metal Blade Records in the early 2010s, their strong bond with Holy Records during the ’90s established a deep connection between the Greek and French metal scenes. That legacy  continues with the band’s current label Season of Mist.

“Nightfall deserve great credit for persistence and determination”, Blabbermouth wrote upon the eve of At Night We Prey. “For fans of face-ripping gloom, [their] sizeable catalogue remains eminently worthy of exploration”.

Monumental Production

Like their contemporaries, Nightfall weave gothic melodies into blackened death metal. Children of Eve features the most infectious collection of hooks that the band has ever created, though their disdain for the dominance of the Eastern Orthodox Church has only deepened over the years. The ongoing rise across the globe of so-called “holy wars” fueled their latest rebellion.

“Anger was the root”, Efthimis explains about the inspiration behind Children of Eve. The band’s veteran leader commands the stage with cloak and dagger, but the album’s lead single pulls no punches. “I am the son of night, notorious bastard”, he roars as an eerie choir echoes like the call of a siren. As if summoned from Olympus, former Septicflesh drummer Fotis Benardo unleashes his attack like a swarm of venomous arrows.

“Faith is a personal matter”, Efthimis continues, “but it can become a dirty business”.

To amplify their message, Nightfall enhanced the entire production of Children of Eve. Efthimis and Fotis took charge of the production with assistance from Inner Wish guitarist Thimios Krikos. Meanwhile, Jacob Hansen – who worked with Volbeat, Amaranthe and The Black Dahlia Murder – handled the mixing and mastering. For the artwork, the band turned to Eliran Kantor, who’s renowned paintings have graced the covers of albums by Testament, Kreator and Helloween.

A Powerful Message

Look at the tracklist and it’s evident that “I Hate” takes aim at the consistent influence of organized religion. “The Traders of Anathema” raises its axe in honor of Judas Iscariot, featuring two blistering guitar solos from Kostas Kyriakopoulos. However, Children of Eve wouldn’t bear the mark of Nightfall without a deeper message.

“Death’s Spiritual Healing deeply influenced me”, Efthimis says. “At the time, its social message was so advanced for the genre”. While “The Cannibal” bursts with divine tremolo picking, its lyrics explore how religious structures and fanaticism can devour you. “I hold the power / to explain your screams”, Efthimis howls with chilling intensity.

During Nightfall’s most recent hiatus, Efthimis was diagnosed with depression. Now, he wears a black mask to cover half of his face, symbolizing what it’s like to live under the invisible veil of mental illness. “When you have demons in your mind, you’re not always an ideal companion”, he admits. “That stigma can lead to isolation”.

Now, Nightfall are encouraging fellow metalheads to speak up. The band have launched a new initiative called Metal Music Against Depression (MMaD), which is supported by European Alliance Against Depression in Germany. “We can talk about this. We can sing about it. We can build a community that’s based on understanding”, Efthimis says.

With Children of Eve, Nightfall return from the shadows to unite blackened souls everywhere with their darkest and most epic creation yet.

ALLY VENABLE Confirms Tom Moriarty as Special Guest on October 2025 UK Tour

Texas based blues rock guitarist Ally Venable is pleased to announce Tom Moriarty as special guest at her highly anticipated headline concerts at Manchester, Night & Day (October 14), Nottingham Bodega (October 16), and London Garage (October 17).

Tickets for the Manchester, Nottingham and London concerts are available from alltickets.com.

Tickets for the Edinburgh concert are available HERE. Tickets for Sittingbourne concert are available from Gigantic.com.

Ally’s October 2025 UK tour follows her sixth studio album Money & Power released by Ruf Records on April 18th. The album is available on vinyl, CD and digital HERE.

Watch the official music video for the title track single “Money & Power.”

“Money & Power is such a strong statement, especially for women,” says the award-winning Texas gunslinger of her Nashville-recorded album, on which Ally’s crack-squad band is joined by A-lister guests Shemekia Copeland and Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.

“All the songs on this album showcase the theme of what it truly means to be a force to be reckoned with. I want this record to wake people up,” continues Ally.

Money and power make the world go round. But in the right hands, music can be every bit as potent. Right now, on the heels of 2023’s acclaimed Real Gone – an album that hit #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and was still in contention a year later – Ally is rated amongst the best young singer-songwriters in American roots, saluted by Total Guitar magazine in its poll of Top 100 Blues Guitarists.

“With her heels, sequins and Les Paul growling on a leash, she’s one of Ruf’s most head-turning young artists,” wrote Classic Rock, “and while the instrumental prowess can be taken as read, Real Gone marks a growing maturity in the Texan’s songcraft.”

In February 2024, with the dust still settling from Real Gone, the Money & Power sessions saw Ally and producer/drummer Tom Hambridge push through the doors of Nashville’s famous Soundstage Studios. And while the studio band was strictly A-list, as always, Ally’s new songs are the real stars. That attitude is palpable on opener “Brown Liquor,” Ally’s battlecry decorated by a stinging guest guitar solo from the Mississippi hotshot Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.

Money & Power is a modern roots record that plays by its own rules and marches to the beat of its own drum. The same could be said for Ally herself. “I’m thrilled to release this album,” she says. “For me, it’s a sonic embodiment of a woman’s unstoppable ambition, and showcases my musicality on all fronts. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one will take me.”

ANALOG AMARA Announce Debut EP “Slowly Falling Apart”, Out November 7th

Denver’s Analog Amara have announced their debut EP “Slowly Falling Apart”, arriving November 7th, 2025. Written in studios and rehearsal spaces across the city, Analog Amara’s forthcoming ep was recorded and produced at Unity Of Noise studios. This new modern melodic rock five-track collection pulls no punches in its exploration of unraveling connections, fading memories, and the restless search for something steady amid change.

‘Slowly Falling Apart’ is not a concept record, but it does follow a clear emotional arc. It traces the kinds of endings that are hard to name at the time; relationships, versions of yourself, seasons of life. And in every track, there’s a sense of searching for something steady to hold onto, even when things are shifting underneath.

EP Tracklist:

1. Never Even Happened
2. As Good As You
3. Is It All
4. So Far Away
5. Saving Grace

About the Band:

Analog Amara began in Denver in 2022, when three musicians from different backgrounds found a shared approach to songwriting. Amanda Hawkins, Max Powers, and Jim Wilcox first collaborated during a home recording session. It started casually, but it quickly became clear that the songs they were creating belonged to something more than a short-term project.

Each member brings a different history that shapes the band into a unique and tangible proposition for rock music listeners:

Amanda began singing as a child and was quickly placed in formal training after a music instructor overheard her voice. That early talent led her to Los Angeles, where she released solo work, collaborated with other artists, and even auditioned for American Idol. After returning home to Colorado, Amanda took on a new role as the national anthem singer for the Colorado Avalanche, performing weekly in front of thousands. That experience sparked a renewed drive to write her own material—this time with a deeper focus and emotional clarity.

Jim came up through the Los Angeles punk scene. At 19, he signed with Atlantic Records as the founding drummer of Authority Zero, launching into a decade of touring. Eventually, he stepped back to explore production, DJing, and other creative work. Now based in Denver, Jim also drums for the punk band Record Thieves. His background in high-energy performance, paired with a producer’s sense of space and control, gives Analog Amara its rhythmic force and flexibility.

Max brings a unique combination of creative instinct and technical depth. A longtime player in Colorado’s punk and alternative scenes, Max has performed in bands like No Bueno!, Blink 303, The Goonies, and Barre Chord Bangers. Outside of music, he holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado. Whether in the lab or in the studio, his approach is precise and intentional. His guitar work balances structure and volatility; emotional but never out of control.

What connects the three members is not genre or background, but intent, drive and passion. Every song is shaped collaboratively, built on trust, and focused on telling the truth of the moment. Analog Amara is not built to chase trends. It is the result of experience, clarity, and the decision to write without compromise.

Inside the EP ‘Slowly Falling Apart’:

“Writing these songs in Colorado homes, in living rooms and spare bedrooms gave them a sense of truth I hadn’t felt in a long time. We weren’t trying to sound like anything. We just followed what felt real.” – Amanda Hawkins

‘Slowly Falling Apart’ plays like a quiet reckoning. Across five tracks, Analog Amara pull at the seams of the things people try to keep stitched together; relationships, their own identities, the emotional scaffolding we build to stay upright. These aren’t songs about rupture; they’re about erosion. The slow drift. The moment you realise the damage is already done. There’s tension running through every track between clean lines and jagged edges, between holding back and letting go. At one turn, the band leans into cinematic weight; at another, everything falls away, leaving only raw, unguarded moments. It’s a record that sits in the in-between: loud but restrained, melodic but uneasy, familiar but never quite safe.

‘Never Even Happened’ deals with the feeling of being erased. It was written during a time of reflection, when a relationship ended and left more questions than answers. The lyrics speak to what it feels like to be suddenly shut out by someone who once knew you well.

‘As Good As You’ looks back at something difficult but still emotionally charged. It is about being drawn to a person or feeling even when you know it is not good for you. There is no resolution here, just the pull of something you are not quite ready to let go of.

‘Is It All’ was the first original song written by the band. It marked the point when the project became real. The lyrics explore whether someone has already emotionally moved on, and what it means to admit you are no longer part of the same story.

‘So Far Away’ speaks to distance that builds slowly; not because of a fight or a sudden break, but because two people start to grow in different directions. It is a song about realising that change can be quiet but final.

‘Saving Grace’ closes the EP with a sense of calm. It is about the decision to stand by someone even when everything else is uncertain. Not out of obligation, but because they still matter, even when the world around you feels like it is falling apart.

Analog Amara is:

Amanda Hawkins – Vocals
Max Powers – Guitars and Bass
Jim Wilcox – Drums and Bass

IGORRR Share Video for New Single ‘Headbutt’ from Upcoming Album

French multi-instrumentalist and producer Gautier Serre has been operating under the name Igorrr for 20 years now, yet each new record still resounds with a startling freshness and radical vitality.

Steadfastly unclassifiable fifth album AMEN maintains this impact, blindsiding the listener with a new set of exploratory curveballs and continuing to surprise and unnerve even the most attuned enthusiast.

AMEN arrives September 19 via Metal Blade. Pre-order it HERE.

The record features guest appearances from by Scott Ian (Anthrax), Trey Spruance (Mr. Bungle), and Mike Leon (Soulfly).

Today, Igorrr drops the video for “HEADBUTT.” Watch it here:

“Is the biggest fortissimo ever made on a piano bigger than heavy and massive metal riffs?,” the artist states. “The match between classical music and metal was very close, but the piano won with that final excavator uppercut. Starting with an ostinato that gives the pulse of the track and shows that the piano can also be a rhythmic instrument, we witness smart blows between both parties, going crescendo until the actual headbutt on the piano, which wasn’t even the strongest or last move from classical music.”

AMEN TRACK LISTING:
01. Daemoni
02. Headbutt
03. Limbo
04. Blastbeat Falafel
05. ADHD
06. 2020
07. Mustard Mucous
08. Infestis
09. Ancient Sun
10. Pure Disproportionate Black and White Nihilism
11. Étude n°120
12. Silence

IGORRR will tour Europe this fall with MASTER BOOT RECORD and Imperial Triumphant. The artist plans to return to the U.S. to play live in 2026. Stay tuned for more. European tour dates are in the graphic below.

ABOUT IGORRR:
Since signing to Metal Blade in 2017, the Igorrr name has expanded from one man’s pseudonym to become a full group identity, but Gautier remains the project’s guiding light and mastermind, so he’s the best man to ask to describe the indescribable. “This album is definitely darker than its predecessors, it has such a very weighty and solemn vibe that has never been reached before in Igorrr,” explains Gautier. “The fact that I recorded a real choir in a church helped this a lot, but above all there has been very long and meticulous work on the sound and the choice of instruments, and deep experimental research to create a unique sound design. Of course, because it’s an Igorrr album, there are some more colorful tracks, like ‘Blastbeat Falafel,’ ‘ADHD…’ They contrast very much with the ambient heaviness. I need tracks like these on an album, it helps to really get through it fully focused, like a shot of limoncello before the next meal.”

With an urge to continually take Igorrr‘s multifaceted and challenging sound further forward with each release, Gautier has spent a lot of time cultivating multiple new modes and methods of working since 2020’s breathtaking, critically acclaimed opus Spirituality And Distortion – which even reached No. 12 on the official German album chart. Gautier has always made clear that Igorrr is as much about the influence of Bach and Chopin as it is about Cannibal Corpse, Aphex Twin, and Meshuggah, but the source of specific stimuli gets harder to ascertain as the process is refined. “It’s always difficult for me to know from where the inspiration comes,” he muses. “Music is an expression of life, and I would say everything, even what seems the most insignificant thing, can be a source of inspiration. I would say there hasn’t been one event or one experience that has lead me on a creative process, it’s more like a cumulation of everything. I love making music, my brain processes music all the time. You cannot imagine the amount of albums and concertos I create during my sleep. The challenge is more how to sort these ideas to keep the ones with the best potential, the ones that I won’t get bored of, the ones that I really Love – with a big letter L.”

DARKNESS SURROUNDING Release New Video Single ‘Achromatica’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 29, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DARKNESS SURROUNDING. Leave a comment

Following the success of their recently released single “Choke On Your Mistakes”, in which they openly and harshly criticize today’s cancel culture, DARKNESS SURROUNDING now deliver another impressive preview of their upcoming album “Is There Salvation?” (release date: September 19): “Achromatica” (release date: August 29). With “Achromatica” the Wuppertal-based quintet brings another multi-layered track between melodic death and metalcore, accompanied by a creative and symbolic single video that both musically and visually captures the state of an increasingly polarized world.

“‘Achromatica’ is about increasingly pronounced black-and-white thinking as well as the inability to see the big picture and perceive nuances”, explains the band. The song thus reflects a social climate so characterized by sensory overload and algorithmic simplification that nuances are lost, while the common ground seems increasingly unattainable. The accompanying music video plays with contrasts, abstraction, and isolation, translating this feeling into powerful imagery.

Musically, “Achromatica” opens with a driving intro that immediately builds tension and captivates the listener with energetic, melodic riffs giving the track a powerful underlying mood. As the song progresses, a dynamic interplay of clean vocals and deep growls unfolds, running like a thread through the entire piece and providing emotional depth and aggressive intensity. The catchy chorus sticks in your head, and a technically demanding guitar solo rounds off the song, once again impressively demonstrating Darkness Surrounding’s musical prowess.

On September 19, Darkness Surrounding will release their new album “Is There Salvation?”. In their songs, the band addresses social tensions, inner crises, and the search for rays of hope, combining aggressive sounds with critical reflection. Musically, the work unfolds in a dynamic mix of hard rhythms, dark sounds, rough growls, melodic passages, and impressive solo parts. With their haunting mix of modern sound aesthetics and depth of content, Darkness Surrounding demonstrate a creative and powerful presence in the metal scene that is more than ready to really take off.

“Is There Salvation?” Tracklist:

1 – Is There…
2 – Old Minds Go Blind
3 – Choke On Your Mistakes
4 – Achromatica
5 – Virtue’s End
6 – Chained Eternally
7 – Through History’s Lens
8 – Portrait Of Solitude

“Swift Demise” the new single from Finnish metal band Mourning Wood draws a picture of hope for a painless end, overshadowed by poor choices and simmering despair, but without forgetting the silver lining of an inevitably fading life. A surprisingly danceable beat gives wings to this fast-paced, retro-inspired, aesthetically pleasing late-summer rampage from start to finish.

Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, AmazonMusic etc.): https://push.fm/fl/mourningwood-swiftdemise

  • ISRC: FI3FC2552807
  • Composition and Lyrics: Eino-Akseli Koski
  • Arrangement: Mourning Wood

The debut full length album “Murder Of Crows” will be released in the fall of 2025. The album continues with the themes of the debut EP “Fill Your Grave” (2023) but also takes them to a whole new level.

2021 founded Mourning Wood draws heavily on both Nordic melancholy and its influencers like Sentenced, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol and Gary Moore. The band that spreads the joy of sorrow consists of trained musicians with a long history of playing together. That can be heard from the tight musicianship at gigs.

The band also played Sentenced tribute tour around Finland promoting the Sentenced guitar player Miika Tenkula‘s biography (Melankolian Mestari – Miika Tenkula) (LIKE, 2024) written by Nefertiti Malaty. The tour consists three bands paying a tribute to memory of Miika Tenkula and Sentenced.
