ACACIA Release Video for New Single ‘Danny’s War’

“Danny’s War” is a powerful, emotionally charged rock single from Acacia, blending gritty instrumentation with raw, thought-provoking storytelling. Inspired by modern conflict and Britain’s military history, the track explores the human cost of war – not through politics, but through the eyes of those asked to fight it.

Driven by urgent guitars and anthemic intensity, “Danny’s War” captures both the pride and sacrifice of soldiers, while confronting the frustration and anger surrounding decisions made far from the front line. It’s a song that doesn’t glorify war, but instead shines a light on its consequences — honouring those who serve while questioning the systems that send them.
With its blend of emotional depth and explosive energy, “Danny’s War” positions Acacia as a band unafraid to tackle meaningful subject matter, delivering a track that feels both timely and timeless.

Acacia are a South Wales rock band blending gritty riffs, anthemic hooks, and emotionally charged songwriting, quickly building a reputation for high-energy live shows and standout releases. Formerly known as Paisley Parc, the band gained national attention with airplay on BBC Radio Wales, features in Wonderland Magazine, and UK tours.

Their early releases — Complicated, Something On You, and Don’t Play Stupid — were recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda, helping establish their punchy, melodic sound. In late 2024, the band shared stages with Florence Black and Revoker before stepping back to refine their direction and evolve their sound.

Re-emerging in 2025 as Acacia — a name rooted in Jack Mason and Ieuan Evans’ beginnings on Acacia Avenue — the band entered a new chapter with bass guitarist Connor Jones and drummer John O’Reilly completing the lineup. Acacia marked their arrival with a sold-out hometown headline show in November 2025, signalling a confident new era and growing local demand. Now in 2026, the band are in the studio working with Tristan Thomas (Florence Black), preparing new material and expanding their reach across UK stages and festivals.

Upcoming appearances include a support slot with Public Order for their Farewell Gig:
1st August 2026 at Clwb Crown, Merthyr Tydfil

Acacia are: Jack Mason, Ieuan Evans and John O’Reilly

Swedish metal band ELEINE release their new single and accompanying music video, “Watch As We Rise,” and unveil the artwork for their upcoming fifth studio album, ‘The Water Taste Of Blood.’ The album will be released independently on December 4th via the band’s own label, Algoth Records, with global distribution through Sound Pollution.

Where the first single, “Empire of Lies,” exposed deception and “We March” carried listeners through it, “Watch As We Rise” is the reckoning and the soundtrack to that empire’s collapse. The third single from ‘The Water Taste Of Blood’ is the band’s heaviest yet, built on chugging, in-your-face riffs and defiant vocals. It’s a song about getting back up in the middle of the fight and burning the whole thing to the ground.

In ELEINE’s own words:

“This is our song of reclaiming control of your own life. We’ve been through so much sh*t the past years. Buried under one pile after the other. ‘Watch As We Rise’ is a releasing song that fills you with power and determination through heavy chugging and in your face vocals.”

Pre-order the album here: https://orcd.co/eleinewtob

Starting this October, ELEINE‘s biggest headline tour to date takes them through Europe and the UK, more than 30 shows in 12 countries, before they return home to Sweden for an exclusive ‘The Water Taste of Blood’ album release show in Lund on December 5th. Following the explosive return of “Play Your Games,” “Saw You Stand” offers another glimpse into their latest body of work— defined by fearless songwriting, towering musicianship, and an ever-expanding creative vision. Equal parts intimate and cinematic, the track captures Greta Van Fleet at their most emotionally resonant while continuing to push the genre-bending boundaries of modern rock and roll.

Listen to “Saw You Stand” HERE

The announcement arrived as the band took the stage last night for a rare, sold-out performance at Chicago’s iconic Metro, heralding the advent of their PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE era. Known for filling arenas around the world, the band returned to an intimate setting for an unforgettable evening celebrating their new chapter.

On PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE, Greta Van Fleet continue to explore themes of humanity, connection, resilience, and transcendence—building a body of work that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant. “As much as it is a Greta Van Fleet record and a rock and roll record at its core, in its heart, it’s a very modern record,” lead guitarist Jake Kiszka says. Recorded in Tennessee in the spring of 2026, PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE was co-produced by the band and Mike Elizondo (Turnstile, Eminem, Fiona Apple), and showcases a band more vibrant, cohesive and stronger than ever. “We love each other just as much as ever, if not more, because we’ve got to spend quality time together off of the road,” lead singer Josh Kiszka shares. “We’ve grown closer, and we have more to say and share than ever.” Drummer Danny Wagner concludes “The minute the four of us step into a room with the shared goal of creating, there is very little that can stop us.”

The album title PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE was inspired from their sold-out 2022 world tour where they headlined the venue —before going onto sell out Wembley Arena— they discovered the origin story of London’s prestigious Alexandra Palace, known colloquially as “Ally Pally. A friend explained that the elaborate grandeur of this Victorian-era “palace”, originally named “The Palace of the People,” was created as a gathering place for the public. Unlike most lavish buildings of the time, this one wasn’t created for the Monarchs nor the wealthy aristocrats of the day, but for everyone to “escape and wonder,” a truly modern concept for the time. Fast forward to 2026, Greta Van Fleet began to wonder: what would a palace for the people mean today? And how do we get there?

“I can’t tell you how many people have come up to me and said ‘This is my best friend. We met through your music or at your show,’”explains bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka, “and we realized, the music is our palace!” Then in spring 2026, the band, ready to embody this feeling at their studio in Tennessee, they started working on the album. It was an intentional period without the distractions from press, tours and other obligations that came before. The process was fruitful, and their writing invigorated, pulling from unfinished demos and partially written songs alongside entirely new material, the band felt mightier and more inspired than ever. PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE was born.

Since emerging from Frankenmuth, Michigan, Greta Van Fleet have become one of rock’s defining voices of their generation. Across multiple platinum-selling releases and sold-out arena tours spanning the globe, the GRAMMY® award-winning band has consistently challenged expectations while forging a sound entirely their own. PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE represents the band’s boldest artistic statement yet.

“Saw You Stand” is available now on all streaming platforms.

HEKATOXEN Announce New Album “Obsidian Majesty”, Out October 2nd

After introducing their vision with the “Utter Darkness” EP, Finnish death metal outfit HEKATOXEN are ready to strike with their first full-length album, “Obsidian Majesty”, set for release on October 2nd, 2026 on LP and CD format via Nuclear Winter Records.

Hailing from Tampere, HEKATOXEN return with a record that tightens every aspect of their sound, delivering a darker, sharper and more determined expression of death metal. “Obsidian Majesty” moves through a landscape of razor-edged riffs, where heaviness never comes at the expense of movement: the songs hit hard, but they also breathe, shift direction and reveal a band with a clear understanding of dynamics.

Rooted in the classic language of Finnish death metal, the album does not rely on mere repetition of familiar formulas. HEKATOXEN take inspiration from the genre’s foundations while shaping those elements into focused compositions built around memorable riffs, strong structures and a tangible sense of purpose. Every track feels designed to stand on its own, equally effective through headphones and on stage.

Avoiding unnecessary complexity, HEKATOXEN embrace the power of well-crafted songwriting: concrete, immediate and uncompromising. “Obsidian Majesty” captures a band refining its identity, balancing old school instincts with a contemporary edge and proving that tradition can still cut deep when handled with conviction.

The first single “Lost Souls Epitome” is now streaming HERE.

01 – Lost Souls Epitome
02 – I Am Them
03 – Spawns Of Darkness
04 – Haunting Ceremony

Take a Chunk of Chopin, Then Remove the Bits He Played. A Dramatic New Approach to Modern Classical by MARIUSZ SZYPURA

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 1, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Chopin Residue, MARIUSZ SZYPURA. Leave a comment

In a year that has already seen some remarkable modern classical releases, Cleopatra Records is proud to present perhaps the most astonishing of them all.  Chopin Without Chopin.

Releasing on August 21 on a stunning Blu-ray video (with visualizers) and digital, mixed in both stereo and Dolby Atmos (vinyl and CD versions will follow later this year), Chopin Residue has already been compared to John Cage’s 4’33″, but that’s only the beginning, as Polish-born musician and artist Mariusz Szypura explains.

“Chopin is inescapable in Poland. You grow up with him the way other people grow up with weather. At some point that stops being inspiring and starts being noise, you don’t hear the music anymore, you hear the monument.

“So I took the piano out. Not as a provocation, more as a question: if you remove the instrument everyone identifies with this music, what’s actually left? Turns out quite a lot. The harmonic structure is still there, the phrasing, the strange melancholy in the intervals. That’s the residue. The piano was the delivery system, not the content.

“Practically,  it meant giving the material to guitars, drums, theremin, ondes Martenot, electronics, breath. Nine compositions on Deconstructions, then nine reworks by other artists on the second disc. You can also play both discs at the same time, they were built to overlap.

“For the immersive version this was the real payoff. In stereo you hear an arrangement. In Atmos you’re inside the harmonic space with the piano missing from the middle of it. The absence becomes physical. That’s not a format upgrade, it’s closer to what the piece was always trying to do.

“I couldn’t have done that version alone. Morten Lindberg, Jacek Gawlowski and I are credited jointly as immersive audio producers, and Morten in particular thinks about space in a way that changed how I heard my own material. He treats the room as part of the composition, which is exactly what this record needed. Michael Romanowski did the immersive mastering and kept the whole thing from turning into a spectacle, which was the real risk. Working with people at that level made me rethink what the project actually was.”

In fact, there were more than 25 guests across the performance.

“I gave everyone a lot of room. I sent material, said what the piece was missing, and mostly got back things I couldn’t have asked for. It’s a completely instrumental record, so everything anyone contributed had to work as sound, not as a message.

“Adrian Utley brought that Portishead sense of dread that sits under a chord without explaining itself, and then did his own rework of Op. 25 No. 12. Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) plays guitar in a way you’d never expect from the material. John Stanier (Battles) hits drums with an authority that stops the music from floating away.

“Joey Waronker (Atoms for Peace, Beck) and Justin Meldal-Johnsen came in as a rhythm section on the Etude and they gave it a forward motion the original doesn’t have, Chopin written as a groove rather than a phrase. John McEntire (Tortoise) approaches drums like an editor, combining patterns that sit somewhere between jazz and something mechanical. Zoh Amba is the opposite instinct, her saxophone is raw and doesn’t negotiate, and putting that against Chopin’s harmony was one of the things that told me the concept worked.”

Other guests include ambient masters Blanket Swimming, former David Bowie bassist Gail Ann Dorsey, and David Pajo (Slint).

Mariusz continues, “The reworks disc is a different logic: Fennesz, Jim O’Rourke, Matthew Herbert, Christine Ott, Abul Mogard, Sean O’Hagan, Masayoshi Fujita, Benoít Pioulard. I briefed them on the concept, sent the deconstructions and let them do what they do. Herbert built a house/dub out of it, Ott went straight to Ondes Martenot [if you’ve never heard this eerie sounding electronic instrument, you will now!], Fennesz did what Fennesz does to a signal.”

And the whole thing, he concludes, “works because nobody was trying to replace Chopin. They were all working in the gap where the piano used to be.”

Turns out that it was a very big gap!
