Seattle heavy metal powerhouse RIVETSKULL are excited to unleash their urgent new single “The Hammer Falls,” a politically charged anthem born from today’s turbulence. The new track arrives accompanied by a lyric video, available below.

Vocalist Chad McMurray comments on “The Hammer Falls”: “The song is inspired by our current political situation and the shit that’s happening. You can either attempt to do something or accept it… ‘is it time to burn?’ We really like the passage ‘a fragile sphere out of control, lost the message somewhere, can’t tell demons and angels apart.’”

Chad continues, “The first time we played it live was at Masters of Rock in the Czech Republic. We hope the people will feel the intensity and sense of urgency.”

Ukrainian progressive rock outfit Vøvk announces their deeply personal and conceptual new album, “Litera”, set for release on October 3. This album explores Ukraine’s emotional landscape in times of turmoil, using nature and primal feelings as subtle metaphors.

“Litera” (letter) highlights the written word as a core of culture – the smallest unit that builds words, stories, and songs. The album reflects hardship without naming war directly, but its presence is felt through symbols and emotions. The songs mirror states of struggle, loss, pain, hope, and renewal – reflecting the natural cycles that govern life on Earth.

The album’s tracklist reflects a natural cycle – from drought to fire, flood, spring, dawn, and back to drought – each song is tied to a specific natural phenomenon, animal, or tangible element. These motifs portray the inner world of a person facing change and struggle.

As a powerful first single from the album, the band has unleashed “Promin”, an emotionally charged track elevated by a remarkable guest appearance from Johannes Persson, vocalist of Swedish post-metal titans CULT OF LUNA. Johannes Persson commented on the collaboration: “As a rule of life, I try to say ‘yes’ more often than ‘no’. What I didn’t know was that Vøvk wanted me to sing in Ukrainian, a language I don’t speak, understand, or have any real grasp of. But hey, why not? All I could do was give it my best. I’m happy with the result and genuinely proud that Vøvk put their trust in me.“

Vøvk frontman Oleksandr Kuts echoed this sentiment, stating, “This song needed a sense of support and unity, and this partnership with Johannes Persson is not only a creative choice but also a meaningful act of solidarity. He deeply understands the Ukrainian context, and his decision to sing in Ukrainian – a language he doesn’t speak – shows his genuine commitment and personal convictions. He delivered it authentically, sincerely, and with his signature sound. We’re endlessly grateful for his trust, courage, and connection to our story.”

“Litera” is not just a collection of songs – it’s a cohesive story that resonates at the intersection of the intuitive and the deeply conscious, offering each listener space to experience it in their own way. Although the album is performed in Ukrainian, its emotional core speaks a universal language that anyone can connect with – reminding us that music always transcends words.

Platinum-certified, 5x #1 Hard Rock radio-charting BAD WOLVES will release a special deluxe edition of their album ‘DIE ABOUT IT’ on September 19. Following the release of their critically-acclaimed, sophomore studio offering “Beyond The Stars”, Australian Symphonic Folk Metal frontrunners VALHALORE have premiered a music video for the epic album track “Within The Fire”!

Founded by guitarist Anthony Willis and vocalist Lachlan Neate, VALHALORE swiftly became an unstoppable force in the Australian metal scene. Since their inaugural live performance in late 2015, the band’s unique blend of Melodic Death, Power, and Symphonic Metal, infused with folk influences, has resonated with audiences both domestically and abroad.

The year 2017 marked a pivotal moment for VALHALORE with the release of their debut album

“Voyage Into Eternity”. The band celebrated this opus with a sold-out launch show in Brisbane and

two successful national tours, “Voyage Across Australia” and “Viktoberfest”. Breaking international

ground in 2018, VALHALORE toured Japan alongside world-renowned acts Ensiferum, Trollfest, and

‘Dead Man’s Hand’ has a unique backstory: originally composed by Manuela Bibert on piano, the early demo featured only vocals and keys. From there, it was transferred note for note to guitar and Hammond organ. The results are unique: A pounding guitar riff meets a distorted, snarling organ line to form the backbone of a song that’s both driving and infectious.

Udo Dirkschneider, the iconic frontman and heavy metal legend, brings a vocal performance which by his own admission – are exceptional for him. But the surprises don’t stop there: both Peter Baltes and Manuela step up with unexpected vocal highlights, adding rich texture and dimension to the track. And then there’s the chorus: a hands-in-the-air, stadium-sized refrain that just begs you to shout or sing along with.
