Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd have just released the music video for “Saturday Night Special” featuring Marcus King.

The track is the latest release from the band’s new project, “Celebrating 50 Years – Live At The Ryman” (Frontiers Music SRL) – available now on 2CD/DVD, Blu-Ray or a double LP. A celebration of the southern sound that changed rock forever, the live album and DVD spectacularly captures Lynyrd Skynyrd’s historic 50th-anniversary concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and features the final performance of founding member Gary Rossington, who passed away less than five months later.

The new album showcases the band’s unparalleled energy and their signature blend of blues rock and Southern hard rock swagger. The project stands as a celebration of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s lasting legacy in music history, filled with iconic hits such as “Freebird,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Simple Man,” and so many more. In addition to King, the new album also features guest appearances by Jelly Roll, John Osborne (The Brothers Osborne), Brent Smith (Shinedown), and Donnie Van Zant (Van Zant & .38 Special).

The band completed a European tour earlier this month, and kicked off a North American tour on August 1st which runs through the fall.

With over 28 million records sold in the U.S. and a sound as iconic as the American culture it celebrates, Lynyrd Skynyrd continues to inspire fans of all ages while embodying the very soul of Southern rock. From their humble Jacksonville beginnings, through tragedy, reunion, and redemption, the band has earned its place on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” – as well as a prominent spot in the hearts of generations.

PALACE OF THE KING Release New Single ‘Birds Of A Feather’

Australian rock heavyweights Palace of the King make a triumphant return with their blistering new single “Birds of a Feather”, out August 1st on Reckless Records, and launching with back-to-back headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Written by Tim Henwood and Seany Johnston, “Birds of a Feather” is a tribute to Chris and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes—a band whose chemistry, conflict, and iconic sound have been a guiding light for Palace since day one. Packed with fiery guitar interplay, soul-drenched vocals, and a groove that struts with Southern swagger, the single is both a love letter and a rock ’n’ roll revival.

“This one’s for the Robinson brothers,” says Henwood. “We’ve always resonated with their dynamic—the way friction and brotherhood can create something magical. ‘Birds of a Feather’ is about that connection and what it can produce when the music really matters.”

The track also marks the return of bassist Andrew Gilpin to the band, bringing fresh energy and firepower to the low end. Joining Henwood and Gilpin are Leigh Maden on guitar, Seany Johnston on guitar and keys, and Cameron McGlinchey locking it all down on drums.

To celebrate the release, Palace of the King will play two special single launch shows:
August 1 at Cherry Bar (Melbourne) with special guests Willie J’s 6V6
August 2 at Chuck Trailer’s (Sydney) with special guests Avalanche

“Birds of a Feather” was produced by Tim Henwood and captures Palace of the King at their most honest and electrified—a full-throttle tribute to the roots that shaped them, and a bold step into their next chapter.

KELLUVAT IKKUNAT is the solo project of Sammal guitarist Jura Salmi.
The debut album of the same name, released today, is a guitar-driven, nautical-inspired instrumental piece of music. All six songs include influences from the guitarist composer as well as the life situations, geographical locations, and strong feelings.

Listen to the album on music services

Jura comments:

This album is a journey back home — not just to a place, but to myself. By the sea in my new hometown Helsinki, I found myself rethinking who I am and where I belong. Each track is born from raw presence and emotions, stirred by places and moments.
Recordings were completed with an old friend Jaakko Rinne on the drums, and arguably the best bassist of Finland at the moment, Ami Kajan.
I hope listeners find as much freedom, space, and rootedness in this recording, as I found in
making it.

Itämerenneito is the first of the six songs to be released as I think it has a nice “summery” vibe.

Kelluvat Ikkunat was recorded by Mikko Hellström and Jussi Vuola, mixed by Jussi Vuola at V.R. Studio and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Opeth, Paradise Lost)  at Orgone Studios.

AMMO Sign with Wanikiya Record – New Voice of Rock That Speaks Straight to the Heart

With great enthusiasm, Wanikiya Record/Promotion announces the addition of AMMO to its roster—a band that has chosen to follow their heart instead of trends, representing one of the most authentic and powerful rock acts in the Italian music scene.

Formed just before the pandemic from a chance encounter between two guitarists, AMMO quickly stood out for their sincere and visceral artistic vision, transforming global uncertainty into creative energy. After releasing two albums—“To the Stars” and the brand-new “Ghost”—the band has caught the attention of the rock scene with a sound that is raw, deep, and uncompromising.

With influences ranging from gritty rock to soulful blues, with almost metal-like overtones, AMMO delivers a musical experience that shakes, moves, and provokes thought. Their music doesn’t chase trends; it explores the human soul, boldly and consciously addressing social and value-driven themes.

“Our music is an invitation to look within, to rediscover those hidden feelings we often try to ignore,” says the band. “We want to be a helping hand, a safe harbor where listeners can feel welcomed and free to explore their emotions.”

Their intense live activity has led them to share the stage with big names like Luca Colombo and Pino Scotto, performing across Italy and Austria—further proof of the strength of their project and the quality of their artistic expression.

With their entry into the Wanikiya Record/Promotion family, AMMO is ready to take their voice even further, with a clear mission: staying true to themselves and continuing to convey real emotions through music.

AMMO are:
Vocals: Mirko “Bociaro”
Guitar: Fabrizio Arnao
Keyboards: Emil Fazzi
Bass: Giorgio Santangeli
Drums: Emil Mair

ONDISPLAY Release Video for Latest Single ‘Loophole’

South African alt-rock band OnDisplay has released the music video for their latest single, “Loophole” — a visually striking and emotionally charged piece that dives deep into themes of identity, social pressure, and self-deception.

Blending theatrical imagery with a powerful narrative, Loophole explores the “masks” we wear to navigate societal expectations. With its haunting aesthetic and layered symbolism, the video blurs the lines between dream and reality, authenticity and illusion — echoing a growing modern dilemma: how easily we can lose ourselves trying to fit in and live up to external ideals.

“We all get drunk on society sometimes,” says drummer Greg Groothedde. “We chase what’s trending, what’s ‘acceptable,’ what people expect of us — and we lose sight of what really matters. Sometimes, we have to step back and ask: are we doing this for our own happiness, or just to please others?”

Guitarist and vocalist Ryan Kopman adds,“This track is about the fake versions of ourselves we create to impress and belong. It’s uncomfortable, but we needed to confront that. Bottom line: be yourself, be you. Don’t let society dictate who you are or who you need to be. You’ll find greater success — and peace — in every part of life by simply being real.”

Directed with a cinematic eye and filled with bold, symbolic visuals, Loophole challenges viewers to question what’s real, what’s imposed, and to reconnect with the most authentic version of themselves in a world consumed by performance.

Loophole is available on all digital platforms.

PSYCHONAUT Share Expansive New Track And Video ‘Stargazer’

Belgian psychedelic post-metal collective Psychonaut return with ‘Stargazer’, a sprawling, emotionally charged new single and video, taken from their forthcoming album World Maker, out 24th October via Pelagic Records. Known for weaving together towering riffs, polyrhythmic precision and deep philosophical themes, the trio now turn inward, navigating the shifting terrain of fatherhood, grief and hope.

Pre-order World Maker and stream ‘Stargazer’ here: https://orcd.co/psychonaut-worldmaker

Propelled by a hypnotic momentum, ‘Stargazer’, named after frontman Stefan De Graef’s son, born in the rare and poetic “stargazer” position, marks a bold evolution in Psychonaut’s ever-shifting sound. Marrying delicate, folk-tinged guitar passages with towering, thunderous breakdowns, the track captures the band at their most exploratory and emotionally resonant. Beneath its weight and dynamic scope lies a quiet introspection, asking urgent questions about what lies ahead. As the second track revealed from World Maker, ‘Stargazer’ offers a glimpse into an album shaped by new life, profound loss and the raw search for meaning in between.

The traditional, three-piece line up of Belgian, psychedelic post-metal collective Psychonaut has long belied the compositional prowess, captivating narrative depth and crushing live presence of a band now operating at the forefront of forward-thinking, contemporary heavy music.

A record born of insurmountable joy and simultaneous profound loss; World Maker marks a time of great change for Psychonaut, both personally and musically, as the band burn away the philosophical narrative complexities of previous offerings with a searing, panoramic clarity that implores us to savour the beauty of the now as a means of leaving a legacy for the future.

The seed of World Maker took shape just as the campaign for previous record Violate Consensus Reality came to a close, with the news that guitarist/vocalist Stefan De Graef was to become a father. This tilting of life’s axis led De Graef, like most fathers-to-be, to re-assess what was really important. As such, the music he was inspired to write felt free of the band’s previous philosophical and spiritual foundations and instead took the form of life lessons for his unborn son, a legacy of love in case something were ever to happen.

This hopeful euphoria shines keenly throughout World Maker as an uncharacteristically optimistic warmth; from the reverberating Rhodes organ on the titular opening track and the meandering, free-jazz inspired guitar solo that introduces ‘Everything Else is Just The Weather’ to elements of world music, electronica and the otherworldly voice of Dutch multi-instrumentalist and old friend Anthe Huybrechts (Anthe/Helion Creek) most notably on tracks like ‘Origins’ which also features tabla, a pair of indian hand drums, as its propulsive heartbeat.

Whilst Psychonaut’s giant riffs, punishing polyrhythms and guttural vocal rage are more resplendent than ever, there is a wider dynamic spectrum to World Maker that sees the band proudly exploring their more delicate, intimate extremes as well as their most aggressive and abrasive. Not long after the birth of De Graef’s son came the devastating news that both his own father and Psychonaut bassist/vocalist  Thomas Michiels’ father had been diagnosed with advanced cancers. Living day-to-day and torn between joy and grief, the band found themselves shedding the grand scope and world-shattering agenda of Violate Consensus Reality to focus on the here and now.

Amidst such turbulent times, the band found strength and support within their post-metal community. The album was recorded and produced by the band alongside their long-time collaborator and close friend Chiaran Verheyden (Hippotraktor) with help and advice from Psychonaut’s live engineer Victor, who will no doubt make this album sound just as awesome on stage. Even the artwork for World Maker was a family affair, being designed by close friend SamCoussens of Belgian cosmic sludge metallers Pothamus.

In the face of life’s soaring highs and desolate lows, World Maker is direct and brave without sacrificing any of Psychonaut’s raw power, creative innovation or inimitable musical depth. Where their previous full-length offerings have charted grand introspective courses through time and space, World Maker is breathtaking in its uncompromising clarity: a father singing to his newborn son as a son bids his own father farewell.

Having sent a shockwave through the post-metal and prog scenes with their three times repressed Pelagic Records debut Unfold The God Man in 2020 before following it up with the transformative metaphysical complexities of 2022’s Violate Consensus Reality, Psychonaut have played prestigious Belgian open-air festivals like Alcatraz, Rock Herk and Boomtown Festival as well as boutique events such as Soulcrusher, Roadburn Redux and A Colossal Weekend whilst sharing stages across Europe with the likes of Amenra, Brutus and Pelagic labelmates The Ocean and PG.Lost.
