Sweden’s Viking metal titans AMON AMARTH are pleased to release their new single, “We Rule The Waves,” and its accompanying video.

With “We Rule The Waves,” AMON AMARTH returns with its first new song in years and unleashes a war cry worthy of the gods – an unstoppable surge of galloping riffs, wave splitting melodies, and Viking fury. Produced with the help of Grammy-nominated producer and mix engineer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Katatonia), this is more than a song – it’s a sonic raid, carved from salt and steel, echoing across oceans. Modern metal doesn’t get more epic, or more essential, than this.

The video for “We Rule The Waves,” shot in Riga, Latvia, continues the band’s collaboration with Pavel Trebukhin of Tre Film, who directed the band’s “The Great Heathen Army,” “Heidrun,” and “Saxons & Vikings” videos.

The band comments, “‘We Rule The Waves’ is our tribute to the spirit of freedom, brotherhood, and the will to conquer – not just lands, but your own limitations. It’s about standing tall with your clan, facing the storm head-on, and carving your mark into the world like a Viking longship through blackened seas.”

In conjunction with this epic new song, the band have also announced the release of limited-edition special merchandise available from the band’s Victorious merch store.

From pole to pole and sea to sea, AMON AMARTH are the undisputed kings of Viking heavy metal. Formed in Tumba, Sweden, in 1992, they have forged an extraordinary legacy over three decades of thunderous, anthemic metal, all rich in the magical imagery of Viking history, folklore, and culture.

From their underground smash debut Once Sent From The Golden Hall (1998) onwards, AMON AMARTH have been an unstoppable creative force. With a unique and unmistakable sound that combines the best of several epic strains of metal, the quintet have become renowned for their ageless anthems and explosive, theatrical live shows. With albums like 2008’s widely acclaimed Twilight Of The Thunder God and 2016’s conceptual triumph Jomsviking, the Swedes have been consistent standard bearers for heavy metal as a life-affirming and communal experience, armed with a seemingly endless stream of instant classic songs.

Now reaping the rewards of all those years of hard work, AMON AMARTH are now regarded as one of the metal world’s most vital and imperious live acts. From headlining festivals across Europe to claiming a place on Slayer‘s final tour of the US in 2019, they have honored the adventurous ethos of their Viking forebears by taking their music anywhere and everywhere.

One of the best-loved metal bands in the world, AMON AMARTH are firmly dedicated to aiming high when they hit the studio. Recorded with esteemed studio guru Andy Sneap at the controls, their most recent full-length, The Great Heathen Army, represents another bold leap forward for the band, as their trademark sound undergoes yet another skillful, evolutionary overhaul, both lyrically and musically. From the noisily rabble-rousing “Find A Way Or Make One” and the pummelling, pugilistic “Get In The Ring,” to the evocative fury of “Saxons & Vikings” and the cinematic squall of the title track, The Great Heathen Army encapsulates the essence of this legendary band, while still allowing acres of space for new ideas.

WALTER TROUT Channels Dissonance And Outrage on New Single ‘Sign Of The Times’

Walter Trout is on a hot-streak and he is channeling dissonance on his latest single, Sign Of The Times. This is the second single to be released from the album of the same name – out 5 September via Provogue. Pre-order / Stream Here

One of the most experimental cuts in Trout’s half-century studio output, it finds a monstrous guitar tone paired with massed chants and an out- there solo that few blues gods would dare put down on tape. “I’ve played it for blues fans who were outraged,” he admits. “But I wanted to outrage people. I wanted it to be dissonant. Dissonance is a sign of the times. The chant is supposed to be the repressed people of the world crying. I actually wrote it on an acoustic, but the final track is massive and John Avila had this nasty, growling bass sound. Marie had been inspired by watching Bob Dylan documentaries with me and every line of that is hers.”

“I had this song idea for a while. A part of it was a repeating melodic chant or moaning of people who are suffering. Almost like the crying of many people all at once. But even though I really wanted to do the song, I couldn’t quite get the words for it. One night Marie handed me a sheet of paper with lyrics that just fit the song perfectly. She didn’t even know about my song idea, but for some reason our minds collaborated on the song subconsciously. I put her lyrics to music, and ‘Sign of the Times’ was born. I feel that music and words make quite a statement about the world we live in, and therefore chose it as the title track.”

The new single follows Artificial, which dropped on the day he announced the new album. A scornful, satirical, harmonica-spiced rebuke of the fake world we risk creating. “We got artificial photos, artificial music, you could go on and on,” considers the bluesman. “I’m freaked out by AI. I read articles about how it’s gonna do all these wonderful things in the medical world. Then I hear Bill Gates say that eighty percent of jobs are gonna disappear. What happens then?”

Also watch the video for Artificial

In his half-century as a street-level social observer and scaldingly honest songwriter, blues-rock’s resilient icon Walter Trout has never told his fans what to think, how to feel, or where to stand politically. But in an era when his home nation – and the wider world – is ripping at the seams over the battlelines of modern life, the iconic US bluesman’s hard-rocking new album, Sign Of The Times, is a primal scream and pressure valve for all of us. “I wanted to reflect upon what’s going on in the world,” explains the 74-year-old. “For me, writing these songs is therapy. They’re not just about what’s happening out there, but how it affects you in your head. Sign Of The Times just became the obvious title…”

It feels like the amps have barely cooled from 2024’s Broken, which debuted on Billboard at #1. But the era-chronicling songs from Sign Of The Times wouldn’t wait, these urgent riffs flying off the guitarist’s fingers, assisted once again by Marie, Walter’s wife, manager and co-writer, who penned the lyrics for some of the tracks. “This album flowed pretty easily,” he reflects of the writing process. “I had so many song ideas and pages of lyrics from Marie. We could have kept going and made a triple album.”

With ten new songs written and arranged, Trout was ready to call up his studio band – longtime drummer Michael Leasure, bassist John Avila and keys man Teddy ‘Zig Zag’ Andreadis – for the recording sessions at Strawhorse Studios in Los Angeles.

Even by Trout’s standards, Sign Of The Times is a record that puts you through the emotional wringer. But as long as there’s poignant and relevant music, we have a fighting chance.

As a lifelong road warrior, Trout will be taking the Sign Of The Times material to global audiences throughout 2025. And for those glorious two hours of playing to audiences, political divides and culture wars will crumble as a crowd with little else common melts into a communion of souls.

MOB RULES Reveal ‘Dawn Of Second Sun’ Video Single from Upcoming Studio Album

North German power metal torchbearers MOB RULES have released a new music video for their latest single, “Dawn Of Second Sun”. The song is taken off their forthcoming studio album, entitled “Rise Of The Ruler”, that is slated for a release on August 22nd via ROAR! The pre-sale is available at this location: https://mobrules.rpm.link/rotralbumPR

About their new single, “Dawn Of Second Sun”, singer Klaus Dirks comments:

“Dawn Of Second Sun” also marks the epic conclusion of our four-part cinematic video series. In this final chapter, the exiled return to the ominous ‘Temple of Two Suns.’ Musically, there are some Iron Maiden influences shining through in terms of epic and composition.”

Stream “Dawn Of Second Sun” now on all digital services at: https://mobrules.rpm.link/dossPR

Seven long years since their latest studio offering MOB RULES returns with their eagerly awaited new album “Rise Of The Ruler”. The follow-up to 2018’s successful album “Beast Reborn” (which reached a sensational #37 in the German and #59 in the Swiss album charts) is not only a work brimming with creativity, wit and quality, but also the conceptual continuation of their two early albums “Savage Land” (1999) and “Temple Of Two Suns” (2000), with which MOB RULES laid the foundation for their career. Both albums are linked by an exciting concept story about life in a dystopian, hostile end-time world in which resources are becoming scarce. This is exactly where the band’s new offering “Rise Of The Ruler” comes in and keyboardist Jan Christian Halfbrodt (who is responsible for all the lyrics) continues the thread.

Once again, the band’s forthcoming magnum opus “Rise Of The Ruler” was mixed and mastered by the experienced hands of Markus Teske (Vanden Plas, The New Roses etc.). After “My Sobriety Mind” (from the “Beast Reborn” album), MOB RULES also collaborated again with singer Ulli Perhonen (Snow White Blood), which is reflected in the beautiful duet of the song “On The Trail”.

After “Beast Reborn” (2018), the live album “Beast Over Europe” (2019) and the anniversary compilation “Celebration Days – 30 Years Of Mob Rules” released in 2024, the Northern Lights are finally back with a powerful new studio album that marks another milestone in their extensive career!

In addition to the eleven-track standard album (available as CD digipak and colored vinyl), MOB RULES have also been working on a very special fan item over the last few months: The limited earbook edition of “Rise Of The Ruler” comes with an exclusive bonus CD containing five additional, brand new songs, as well as a spoken version of the concept story, an alternative version of “Dawn Of Second Sun” and the two video clips for “Back To Savage Land” and “Dawn Of Second Sun”! The large-format, hardcover book-style 48-page earbook extensively documents the creation of the album, video shoot, photo shoot and provides insights into the concept story.

VLAD IN TEARS releases ‘Your Trace’ feat. John Connor (Dog Eat Dog), a new pre-release single from the upcoming studio album ‘Hide Inside’, which will be released on 1st August on Metalville.

‘Your Trace’ is a powerful rock anthem about obsession and the inescapable pull of the past.  The new single from the upcoming VLAD IN TEARS studio album ‘Hide Inside’ is driven by gritty guitars and relentless drums. The song captures the feeling of chasing someone through memory and time, only to realise that you’re actually running from your own shadow. Raw, emotional and relentless.

VLAD IN TEARS, the band that is taking the global dark metal scene by storm with their unique and powerful sound, is ready to release their highly anticipated new album, “Hide Inside”. The new album “Hide Inside” explores themes of inner darkness, mythology, and the confrontation between the material and spiritual worlds.

Each track is a powerful narrative that takes the listener on a psychological journey, suspended between reality and dreams. “Hide Inside” is an auditory experience that is rooted deep in dark metal, yet simultaneously challenges the conventions of the genre, with fresh sounds and musical experimentation.
The album was recorded with the utmost care and passion, with the aim of conveying the emotional intensity of each track. The result is a bold and introspective work that showcases the band’s growth and artistic evolution.

WANTED, Detroit’s unrelenting force in hard rock & metal, unleashes a sonic storm with their latest single and explosive new video, ‘Take Me Away’ from their most recent album, Cutting Edge. The album dropped globally on Friday, June 27 via esteemed U.S. hard rock label Eonian Records, and is now available on CD & Limited-Edition Green Vinyl.

Formed in 2021, WANTED is driven by a singular mission: to reignite the fire of the loud, melodic hard rock, and classic metal that once dominated arenas and airwaves. Drawing inspiration from legends like Van Halen, Ratt, and Dokken, the band fuses retro spirit with modern swagger, delivering hook-heavy anthems and hard-hitting performances that have quickly earned them a loyal following.

The video for ‘Take Me Away’ is a high-octane visual companion to the single, channeling the song’s explosive energy and nostalgic heart. Shot by videographer Danny Huk, while directed by Griffin Lantz and lead guitarist, Alan Mares, the video captures the band in top form, raw, vibrant, and undeniably magnetic.

“This song showcases our ability to write big, ‘80s arena-worthy choruses that stick with you and leave you humming along. I especially loved featuring our close friends Jackson, from the band VOID and Mila, the model on the cover of Late Attraction in the video.” – Sterling Primeau, vocals

“The new video captures the song and band’s visual aspect perfectly. Danny, Griffin, and I put together our ideas and created something special.” – Alan Mares, lead guitar

“‘Take Me Away’ is clean-cut and visually immersive. It elevates the listener’s experience and marks a new chapter for the band.” – Christian Shonts, guitar

“‘Take Me Away’ represents the pinnacle of WANTED’s sound on ‘Cutting Edge‘, capturing the raw emotion and evolution of the band. The music video gives a cool glimpse into the concept behind the music and really brings the song to life. – Paul Slezak, bass

“The song and video complement each other so well. If you are out for a good time, you came to the right place.” – Chris Rajt, drums

Industry buzz:

“A masterpiece to own without a doubt – 100/100.” – The Metal Mag

“Bridges the gap between Dokken, White Lion, and Ratt with a contemporary shine – 80/100.” – Metal Forces Magazine“An exhilarating blend of sleaze, glam, speed, and heart. Grab your hairspray and air guitar!” – Musipedia of Metal“A fiery return to melodic hard rock with infectious melodies and modern edge – 80/100.” – Dead Rhetoric“Championing the spirit of old-school metal with energy to spare.” – FIREWORKS Rock & Metal Magazine

WANTED set out with a mission: to reignite the loud, melodic fire of the classic metal and hard rock that once dominated the airwaves. Drawing influence from titans like Van Halen, Ratt, and Dokken, WANTED fuses their vintage inspiration with modern energy and youthful intensity.

The lineup features Sterling Primeau (vocals), Alan Mares (lead guitar), Christian Shonts (guitar), Paul Slezak (bass), and Chris Rajt (drums). Now all in their twenties, the band has evolved rapidly since their 2023 release, bringing a sharpened edge and broader sonic palette to ‘Cutting Edge‘. Listeners can expect nods to the precision of’84 Judas Priest, the grit of Armored Saint, the anthemic power of Scorpions, and the finesse of Queensryche, Great White, and Icon.
“This album defines our ability to write hard-hitting music with melodic and powerful vocals. We’ve gone through major changes this year, and they’ve pushed us to make our best work yet” said lead guitarist Alan Mares

“Cutting Edge marks, a new beginning for WANTED and sets a new bar for our sound and performance,” added guitarist Christian Shonts. “It’s an honest look at who we are as a band. We’re proud of where we came from, but this album exceeds anything we thought we were capable of. This is a new era for WANTED,” said bassist Paul Slezak. Sterling Primeau, the band’s dynamic frontman, described the project as, “a true testament to the work we’ve put in. Every riff, every harmony, every groove-we poured everything into this, and it shows.” New drummer Chris Rajt reflected, “The timing of me joining the band couldn’t have been better. The recording process was a blast, and you can feel that energy in every track.”

Label support:

“The minute I heard the final masters; I had them on repeat. Fans of high-octane ’80s metal are in for a treat. Cutting Edge demands a place among the top hard rock & metal releases of 2025!” – Stephen Craig, Eonian Records

“We could not be more thrilled to unleash this powerhouse of a band. Young, fearless, and armed with chops that will melt your speakers.” – Ryan Northrop, Eonian Records
With ‘Cutting Edge’, WANTED not only pays tribute to their heroes but blazes a trail of their own, breathing new life into a genre that never truly dies. A regional U.S. tour is in the works for late 2025, with more music to follow.
