THE VALLEY Release New Single + Video ‘Like I Never Lived (Without You)’, Produced in California by Fabrizio Grossi

Available from today, February 27th on all digital platforms, THE VALLEY’s new single “Like I Never Lived (Without You)” is released via Volcano Records & Promotion and produced in Los Angeles by Fabrizio Grossi (Alice Cooper, Steve Vai, Slash).

With this new track, the Ligurian alt-prog band takes a significant step forward, expanding its artistic path into an international dimension while preserving its distinctive sonic identity. “Like I Never Lived (Without You)” is an intense and straightforward song, built on constantly evolving emotional dynamics, where enveloping guitars and atmospheric tension merge with a deeply expressive vocal performance. The song explores themes of absence and emotional dependency, transforming loss into awareness.

The band’s alternative soul intertwines with progressive influences in a mature balance that recalls acts such as Incubus, Alice In Chains, and Faith No More, without ever losing its own personality. The production plays a crucial role in the project: Fabrizio Grossi coordinated the work from Los Angeles, bringing an international vision to the band’s sound. The mastering was handled by legendary American sound engineer Pete Doell (Miles Davis, Toto, Marilyn Manson), while all recordings were entirely carried out by The Valley in their own studio in Liguria, confirming an independent yet ambitious artistic journey.

“Like I Never Lived (Without You)” is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms. The official music video is now streaming on Volcano Records’ YouTube channel:

THORIUM present their crushing new single and video “MG42”, the first release from their upcoming album “Suburban Rot”, out Summer 2026 via Emanzipation Productions. The track delivers a relentless, bullet-fast assault of extreme death metal, setting the tone for what promises to be one of the band’s most uncompromising releases to date. Mixed and mastered by renowned producer Tue Madsen (Antfarm Studios), “MG42” captures pure sonic warfare in just a few devastating minutes.

Guitarist and composer JP Storm (ex-Dominus/Volbeat) comments: “It’s about terror and panic. My youngest son told me about the Hitler’s Buzzsaw, which inspired me to write this song. The riffs are a concoction of pure grind, syncopation and unpredictable patterns – with the aim of letting the listener experience the panic and accompanying disorientation that this machine gun’s oppressive and horrifying cadence of fire evokes”.

Join the premiering here:

Formed in Denmark in 1997, Thorium is a legacy name in Scandinavian death metal, with multiple albums and countless live shows behind them. With “Suburban Rot”, the band sharpen their already ferocious sound into something even more direct, violent and evoking.

“MG42” will be available on all major streaming platforms and with an official video. More details on the full album, formats and upcoming live dates will be announced soon.

MONSTROSITY Unleash New Single ‘The Atrophied’ from Upcoming Album

“The Atrophied” is the latest single from US death metal loyalists MONSTROSITY. The uncompromising track comes off the band’s Screams From Beneath The Surface full-length, set to drop on March 13th on Metal Blade Records.

This vicious release – their first in seven years – showcases the band’s signature blend of aggression, technical precision, and intensity. Led by drummer, founder, and primary songwriter Lee Harrison, MONSTROSITY is reinvigorated with a formidable lineup: long-tenured guitarist Matt Barnes, the triumphant return of original bassist Mark Van Erp, and vocalist Ed Webb (ex-Massacre), whose guttural, visceral delivery injects electrifying new energy into the band’s sound. Screams From Beneath The Surface not only solidifies MONSTROSITY‘s hallmark death metal ferocity but also pushes the genre’s boundaries, forging a path that is both innovative and true to their roots.

The second single from Screams From Beneath The Surface, “The Atrophied,” is the first track written for the album, delivering an intense extreme metal voyage.

Elaborates Harrison, “‘The Atrophied’ contains all the hallmarks of a classic MONSTROSITY song. From the opening drum rolls and Mark Van Erp’s spiraling bass intro, it surges forward with ferocious blasting energy, then weaves through a dynamic landscape of devastating riffs and intricate rhythmic shifts. This was an important song for us to get right, and I feel the guys really pulled through with this one. Our new vocalist Ed Webb commands the storm, shifting seamlessly from guttural depths to razor sharp highs and lending the performance a gripping, almost cinematic intensity. Matt Barnes unleashes chaotic and spiraling melodic runs that echo the band’s most iconic moments, with additional crushing guitar work by Justin Walker. I aimed to craft the lyrics as a haunting narrative of decay and collapse, perfectly framed by the forceful and punishing production from Audiohammer and Morrisound Studios. ‘The Atrophied’ delivers MONSTROSITY at our most direct and ferocious!“

Adds Barnes, “‘The Atrophied’ came together through our usual working method, but it delivered an unexpected result in the end. Lee brought the song to the table in a stripped down, skeletal form. We spent a lot of time sending demos back and forth, adding transitions, tweaking riffs, changing a few notes… the usual. But something happened along the way. Once we finished writing it and everyone had their parts locked in, when we finally played it all together, it felt more like an epic saga than just another death metal song. ‘The Atrophied’ may be the most musically and emotionally complex song MONSTROSITY has ever recorded. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had songs that were more complex in terms of pure technical nuts and bolts, real fretboard acrobatics, but those tracks are usually locked into one mood, one color. ‘The Atrophied’ for me, carries the feel of a 15-minute Rush or Iron Maiden epic, yet it’s tightly condensed, unpretentious, and, as always, unabashedly death metal.”

Watch the band’s previously released video for first single, “The Colossal Rage,” HERE.

Screams From Beneath The Surface was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting Harrison’s monstrous vision and the band’s seamless chemistry. The recording process spanned multiple studios to achieve sonic perfection. Drums, bass, and mixing were handled at Audiohammer Studios under the expert guidance of producer Jason Suecof (The Black Dahlia Murder, Deicide, Job For A Cowboy), while vocals, guitars, and mastering took place at the legendary Morrisound Studios, where MONSTROSITY reunited with revered producer Jim Morris (Iced Earth, Warrant, Savatage), alongside Mark Prator and BJ Ramone. This combination of cutting-edge and classic production techniques ensures a punishing sound that is honoring the band’s storied history while embracing modern death metal’s evolution. The album’s striking cover art, created by artist Timbul Cahyono, is a wholly organic creation, free from AI or computer-generated renderings, embodying the raw, authentic spirit of MONSTROSITY‘s music. With Screams From Beneath The Surface, the band not only upholds the brutal tradition established by their previous works but also charts bold new territory, delivering a release that is as innovative as it is devastating.

THE QUILL to Release New Album “Master Of The Skies” on May 8th

Some bands chase trends. Others outlive them.
Swedish hard rock veterans THE QUILL return with their new studio album “Master Of The Skies” on May 8th at Metalville.

“Master of the Skies” marks another chapter in a long-running conversation between groove, weight, melody, and muscle — this time with a darker tint.

The songs move through light and shade, tightening the screws one moment and opening the throttle the next. It’s heavier without being blunt, moodier without losing swing — heavy rock with depth lines and character, earned the hard way.

THE QUILL is a band comfortable in its own skin, writing music because they still mean it, not because anyone asked. Think Sabbath’s sense of gravity, the groove-heavy swagger of classic heavy rock, and the lived-in confidence of musicians who’ve been there, done that — and kept the amps on anyway.

The band once again teamed up with Erik Nilsson at 491 Studios, a place that by now knows their sound almost as well as the band does.

No reinvention. No nostalgia trip. Just THE QUILL doing what they’ve always done best: writing heavy rock songs that stand on their own feet.

The sky is still the limit — and The Quill remains its master.

Quotes about “Master of the Skies”:

Magnus Ekwall “We focused a lot on atmosphere. Some songs needed space and restraint, others wanted to explode — I liked letting the light and darkness decide how far to push it.”

Christian Carlsson “This time we didn’t force a ‘Quill sound’ onto the songs. We let each track build its own identity, even if that meant going down unfamiliar paths.”

Roger Nilsson “The big difference on this album is how much it came together as a band. Everyone shaped the songs, and the contrasts grew naturally from that.”

Jolle Atlagic “We experimented more in the studio than usual. Some ideas stuck, some didn’t — but that trial-and-error is what gave the album its movement.”

WINTERFYLLETH Unveil New Single + Video ‘Echoes In The After’

With “Echoes In The After”, UK black metal legends WINTERFYLLETH unveil the second single from their upcoming album, The Unyielding Season, out March 27, 2026 via Napalm Records. Inspired by the felling of the Sycamore Gap tree, a landmark near Hadrian’s Wall, and adapted from a poem from Sir Philip Sidney’s 16th-century epic “The Countess Of Pembroke’s Arcadia”, “Echoes In The After” is a powerful atmospheric black metal lament to nature and social commentary in one. It comes with an official new music video, visually underlining the lyricism and transforming it into something that’s visually tangible too.

WINTERFYLLETH’s ninth album is a social commentary wrapped in meticulously crafted poetry and prose. Where the preceding album, The Imperious Horizon (2024), described an ominous, malevolent force lurking in the distance, The Unyielding Season now explores said threat becoming a reality.

Chris Naughton about “Echoes In The After”:
“The lyric for this song was written as a reaction to the cutting down of the famous ‘Robin Hood’ tree at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall, in the North East of the UK. The song is about how some people seem to loathe iconic symbols of history and cultural importance that the local community share in, and hold dear. It speaks to a wayward mentality of individuals who would happily see these types of landmark destroyed – as though nothing is sacred. The lyric paints an image of the land and nature responding to the damage of the tree – almost like it is reacting to the loss of a limb or of a part of itself. It speaks about the wider area being scarred by this situation – with the lyric being written like a lament from nature to itself, condemning the demise of such an iconic symbol. A event that felt like it occurred in a cold, oddly curated and premeditated manner. It was an unsettling circumstance that resonated with us all in the band; particularly as we had used the tree as inspiration for the artwork of our 2018 album, The Hallowing of Heirdom.”

The raging wildfire to its predecessor’s calculating, icy cold, WINTERFYLLETH’s first offering for their new record label is a reflection and a rebellion against the turmoils tearing individuals apart. The Unyielding Season is a cry against the unsustainable weight of fear and pressure being pushed into the world, by the agents of an unresting, and unyielding force for evil. Where our surroundings grow more challenging every day, WINTERFYLLETH offers a pause for respite and resistance. The world is on fire, and The Unyielding Season is a warning.

WINTERFYLLETH about The Unyielding Season:
“2026 marks a year of big changes for WINTERFYLLETH! A new label, a new member, a new album, and the landmark of 20 years making music together. We are enthused by what this new chapter will bring, and as a result, we are now able to share our ninth album, The Unyielding Season, with the world. It is also a powerful and virulent first output, through which we seal our new collaboration with Napalm Records.
In many ways, the new album is a reflection on – and a rebellion against – the turmoil’s and fears that are tearing the lives of many individuals apart. It is a cry against the unsustainable & constant weight of malevolence and pressure being pushed into the world by agents of an un-resting and unyielding force for evil. We hope the album resonates with you, stirs your soul, and gives you a source for hope. But, we also hope it makes you ask questions of your own circumstances and gives you pause to consider the unnerving state of the world we all share.”

Order Your Copy of The Unyielding Season NOW

“Heroes Of A Hundred Fields” is the first revolt on their ten-song manifesto, describing brave minds joining forces against a common oppressor to fight for their freedom.  The song unfolds in marvellous grandeur as chants of “Rebellions beacons now alight”, ring out against a tide of evil. With “Echoes In The After”, WINTERFYLLETH delivers a striking epic, while the following track, “A Hollow Existence”, opens up with galloping drums and explodes into equally aggressive and atmospheric black metal fireworks. The band’s trademark sound continues throughout “Perdition’s Flame” into the album’s title track, a powerful observation of our world’s current situation and a voice for those silenced by its hostility. Atmospheric masters WINTERFYLLETH then pause their rage, making room for “Unspoken Elegy”, an acoustic guitar-driven instrumental enriched by equally hopeful and menacing cello melodies—a hauntingly beautiful illustration of the dichotomy within The Unyielding Season. “In Ashen Wake” takes up the perilous undertone, taking its time before unveiling itself as another highly melodic black metal saga. “Toward Elysium” expands on that with a strong, old-school-inspired guitar riff, thrilling and catchy. Following another instrumental, the beautifully structured “Where Dreams Once Grew”, WINTERFYLLETH end the album running order with a bonus track, a cover of fellow Brits Paradise Lost’s “Enchantment”, originally released as the opening track on their 1995 classic Draconian Times.

  1. Heroes of a Hundred Fields
  2. Echoes In The After
