CHAOS INSIGNIA Release New Single ‘Dark Gate Opened’, Feat. Paul Tucker

Chaos Insignia is a bestial black/death metal force forged in fire and ritualistic chaos. Blending savage black metal ferocity with crushing death metal density, the band channels technological occultism, apocalyptic visions, and infernal devotion into a relentless sonic assault. Formed with a clear intent to create uncompromising black/death metal, Chaos Insignia emerged from the underground with a sound rooted in the raw violence of classic war metal, yet sharpened by modern precision and atmosphere.

Their first full-length studio assault, Crown of the Infernal Code (released March 5th 2026), crystallizes the band’s dark vision into ten suffocating tracks, each featuring a special guest vocalist drawn from the realms of black metal and death metal. Forged as a true collaborative manifestation, the album unleashes one special guest featured on each track such as Themgoroth (ex. Dark Funeral, ex. Infernal) ; Ødemark, known as the vocalist of The 3rd Attempt, band formed by former members of Carpathian Forest; Heergott of Magoth; Paul Tucker of the legendary American black/death metal institution Sathanas; Ustumallagam of the Danish black metal cult Denial of God; Shadow of Black Altar; Obscurus of Marras; Hrafn of Thy Dying Light and Ulfarr; the legendary Narqath of Azaghal, one of the most well-known Finnish black metal bands; Morean of Dark Fortress.

ELLEFSON–SOTO Release Two Iconic Cover Songs ‘Jailhouse Rock’ & ‘I Don’t Care About You’

Ellefson–Soto have released two new cover songs, paying tribute to two legendary forces in music: the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, and Los Angeles punk rock icons FEAR. Both songs were recorded and filmed live during the Rogue Recording Sessions inside the legendary Battery Studios in London, UK in July 2025.

The releases arrive just ahead of the band’s upcoming performances at the Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood, California on Thursday, April 9, and aboard the Monsters of Rock Cruise sailing April 12–17. These tracks deliver a punch in the face while celebrating classic songs re-imagined for 2026.

David Ellefson explains the inspiration behind the recordings:
“The band FEAR has been a staple of our attitude and style of music from the beginning. And Elvis Presley has only become more legendary in recent years with so many films and documentaries about his iconic life. Let’s face it — he’s the one who showed us all how rock stardom was done from the start. So we thought it fitting to honor the King of Rock and Roll and the kings of punk rock at the same time.”

Vocalist Jeff Scott Soto adds:
“We wanted as many tools as possible to lure you into our recent album ‘Unbreakable’ so we all met up in London to make a few more videos for ya! BUT these two songs are NOT on the album — instead they are two cover jams that gave us more reason to have fun together… familiar in the punk world, FEAR’s ‘I Don’t Care About You’ and Elvis’ ‘Jailhouse Rock,’ delivered with in-your-face, no-mercy power!”

The songs were recorded by Alessio Garavello at Rogue Recording in London, UK, with video editing by Elia Turra. Special thanks to Blackstar Amps for providing the wall of sound during the sessions.

Ellefson–Soto have released two albums through Rat Pak Records: Vacation in the Underworld (2022) and Unbreakable (2025).

Tickets for the April 9 performance at the Whisky A Go-Go are available at: https://whiskyagogo.com/calendar/

NIHILANTH Release New EP “Detritus Of Ruin” with Official Video ‘Fangs’

“Detritus of Ruin” marks the second EP release from Nihilanth. Following the release of their first EP “Destroyer of Worlds”, the band went through several lineup changes, now they say they have found their sound, comprising a raw and aggressive tone with lots of groove, and of course breakdowns.

“Lyrically the EP has a dark undertone, we touch on subjects close to home such as self-destruction. But also, observations on the world around us, corruption and prejudice we see and experience in organised religions, hatred towards the “other” because we have been forced fed lies and propaganda to server the interests of the wealthiest 1%.
Creativity we also wanted to step it up this time around, adding  bits of synth or strings to add more layers to the songs sonically.”

Throughout the EP you can hear a mix of influences on individual tracks like “Fractured” with the blend of modern metal and “Don’t Pray For Me” leaning into a more the death metal vibe.
These influences are merged and captured perfectly with songs like “Ruin”, the first single that was released. This song is a dark and honest look at your inner self and the struggles with self-destructive behaviours. Featuring guest vocalist Patrick Scanlon from Belfast hardcore giants If It Bleeds.

“Fangs” is another highlight with a real mixture of influences coming across and presented in the unique sound that has made Nihilanth well known and a force to be reckoned with.
This EP is without a doubt what Nihilanth is.

Across the EP, raw aggression is balanced with atmosphere and control. Breakdown sections are delivered with purpose, while subtle layers of synths and strings expand the band’s sonic scope without diluting their core intensity. Themes of self-destruction sit alongside wider societal observations, tackling corruption, prejudice and the influence of organised religion with unflinching honesty.

‘Detritus Of Ruin’ is not a reinvention but a realisation. It is the sound of a band that has weathered change, sharpened its identity and emerged heavier, tighter and more confident than ever.

OÏKOUMEN – behind this name, taken from Ancient Greek and meaning “the inhabited world”, lies the intention to explore what humans go through, both emotionally and in tangible, real-world terms.

OÏKOUMEN shares visceral emotions, often dark, always committed, through intense, embodied music, where the orchestra serves emotion rather than acting as mere decoration. The music is conceived to speak directly, from a deeply human perspective.

The art-loving band is now presenting its new single, “Revenge,” from its second album, which is set to be released in April. The album title and exact release date will be announced shortly.

The Band says about the lyrical background:
“‘Revenge‘ is an explosive track that fuels rebirth after hard times, stokes the fiery will to live within us, and embraces the possibility of turning hatred into a life force.”

Norwegian Grammy Nominated JORDSJUK Release New Single ‘Klangbunn fra helvete’

Norway’s Jordsjuk release their last single from ‘Naglet til livet’. The same weekend as their debut album potentially might snatch the Spellemannprisen, aka “The Norwegian Grammy”, in the category of Metal & Hardrock.

‘Klangbunn fra helvete’ was originally released as an exclusive bonus track on the vinyl and CD issues of ‘Naglet til livet’, September 2025. Now, the cut will finally also be available digitally.

Listen to the single here: https://ffm.to/klangbunn

Musically, the song is firmly rooted in the band’s riff-driven, blackened and concise sound: catchy, dissonant and strict, but here with an even higher dose of fierce and ripping thrash metal.

Thematically, the track is a direct and uncomfortable examination of power, manipulation, and the systematic exploitation of human weakness.

– «Klangbunn fra helvete is about people who exploit the weaknesses of others. It’s about how language, authority and systems can be used to degrade others, until all that is left is self-loathing», songwriter and lyricist Renton comments. This is Jordsjuk at their most claustrophobic.

The release date of March 20, six months after the album release, will also be marked with a headliner gig at Blå in Oslo, where ‘Klangbunn fra helvete’ will be performed live for the first time.

Comprised of hardened musicians, who have already made their marks on the underground metal scene, Jordsjuk serves up a hellish blend of black metal, thrash, death metal, punk and rock. Organic, riff-driven and ruthlessly efficient. Their soundscape is dirty and straight-to-the-face, with lyrics that paint brutal pictures of doom, desperation and destructiveness – all performed in their native Norwegian tongue.

The band already has numerous gigs to their name, and it’s on stage their sonic violence truly comes to its right. After a sold-out release concert at Oslo’s Vaterland, a packed venue at the Midgardsblot festival, and a relentless performance at the by:Larm festival, Jordsjuk now takes ‘Naglet til livet’ to the rest of Norway, with an extensive Norwegian tour in 2026. Cities like Tromsø, Bergen and Lillehammer have already been conquered, and many more are in line. The band is also confirmed for Norway’s largest festival; Tons of Rock, as well as appearances in Czechia and Sweden. For those who have seen them before, expectations are high. For everyone else: prepare to be run over!

Upcoming concerts 2026:

21/03 KONGSBERG, Norway – Bykroa
02/05 SANDNES, Norway – Tribute
14/05 VADSØ, Norway – Valo Rock
24/06 OSLO, Norway – Tons of Rock
24/07 VOLYNĚ, Czechia – ETEF Festival
19/09 NOTODDEN, Norway – The Graveyard Gig
25/09 TRONDHEIM, Norway – Legend Metalfest
11/12 STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Klubb Fredagsmangel

FOLLOWING THE SIGNS’ New EP “Evolve” Out Now

Irish nu-metalcore force Following The Signs have released their highly anticipated new EP ‘EVOLVE’, available now.

Formed in Cork in 2018, Following The Signs have steadily carved out a reputation for fusing groove-heavy nu-metal textures with the precision and punch of modern metalcore. With Evolve, the band reveal a more expansive and emotionally resonant dimension to their sound, balancing crushing riffs and commanding rhythms with dynamic melodic passages and a heightened sense of atmosphere.

Where previous singles ‘Call To Rise’ and ‘Break The Frame’ explored resistance against external oppression and psychological confinement, the single ‘Evolve‘ brings the narrative inward. It is a track rooted in perseverance, growth, and the hard-won strength that emerges from adversity.

Speaking about the EP’s title track, vocalist Alan Jevens says:
“Evolve is the song that ties the whole EP together. In every song there is a battle, be it with yourself, your life or others. The concept of Evolve is that even when you figuratively build walls around yourself through lack of confidence, or when you feel like you’re going through hell and don’t see a way back out — that you will never be enough — all you need to do is take your time and you will make it through anything life may throw at you.
This song has so much meaning for me personally, as I have gone through many tough times and no matter how bad things get I always come out stronger and better off than before. My hope is that this song can inspire listeners to push through their own struggles and evolve into the strongest person they are born to be.
”

Musically, ‘Evolve’ showcases the band at their most assured and mature to date. The track shifts seamlessly between tension and release, pairing weighty, groove-laden instrumentation with soaring vocal dynamics that underline its message of resilience. It’s a statement of intent from a band unafraid to confront vulnerability while retaining the raw power that defines their sound.

Expanding on the EP itself, the band adds:
“‘EVOLVE’ is a massive step into a new direction for the band. This process really made us push the boundaries of what we sound like. This EP shows a new side of the band, taking a more melodic approach in certain elements of our sound. With the addition of our new vocalist, we have a more well-rounded sound, which forced us to experiment with new tones and elements.
‘Evolve’ proves that under pressure, the band continues to adapt and overcome whatever is thrown at us. The EP has five songs, each acting as a new chapter, showcasing the band’s versatility and willingness to add new flavours into the mix
.”

The new EP release marks the band’s most cohesive and focused body of work to date. Following the impact of their debut album Conflictions and singles such as Birthright and Stand Tall, ‘EVOLVE‘  represents a significant step forward both sonically and conceptually, refining their identity while boldly expanding their creative scope.

Recent live performances in Warsaw and Kraków, the band’s largest international shows to date, have further highlighted their growing momentum beyond Ireland, cementing their reputation as one of the country’s most exciting rising heavy acts.

With ‘EVOLVE‘ out now, Following The Signs continue to establish themselves at the forefront of Ireland’s heavy music scene—delivering music that is both ferocious in sound and fearless in message.
