The introspection of grief.

On November 27, 2026, Bulgarian funeral doom project DESTRUCTION OF ORION will return with their third album, “Dimensions Of Chaos”, to be released by Aesthetic Death in both digibook CD and gatefold 2LP formats. Following “Decreasing Brightness” and “States Of Horror”, the new record continues the project’s deeply personal exploration of grief, anguish and emotional collapse, further developing the distinctive language established across its first two chapters.

Two albums in and it is easy to see that DESTRUCTION OF ORION are one of the most exciting and important new doom bands of recent years. Never straying from the pertinent characteristics of the genre, yet able to bring fresh vision and authentic interpretation of what funeral doom is.

The new album solidifies this. “Dimensions of Chaos” retains the abject misery that was saturated within “Decreasing Brightness” and the mental anguish permeating through “States Of Horror”.

This is an era. Like the rings within a tree, each album forms a snapshot of that moment. “Dimensions Of Chaos” is no different. A monument of personal catharsis. Bringing tracks with a distinctive feel and identity. Yet, working seamlessly as a whole, forming an album that should be endured together as one.

Time only accentuates grief. The whole experience heralds a decimation of emotional will. As the music fades the silence holds a mortuary chill, with a haunting sense of feeling drained and emotionally crushed. You can physically feel the destructive energy and grief that have been poured into this.

DESTRUCTION OF ORION is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Tehina Spasova, whose genius lies in her metaphysical melancholy and a skilled feel for melodies. The production and musicianship on this third album elevate it to new levels, evolving a unique and authentic sound. Like dark matter, “Dimensions Of Chaos” will pervade every fragment of self. Drenched in a beautiful pain, the emotion in these tracks is visceral.

The unique style of “Dimensions Of Chaos” will not appeal solely to fans of funeral and extreme doom. There is a universal portrayal of grief that will resonate with anyone wishing to explore their own pain and anguish.

Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA and founder of TRISTANIA)  released the thirteenth  Mortemia song from  ‘The Cover Collab Sessions’. A collection of cover songs featuring different guest singers for each song. This single is a rendition of ‘It’s a Sin’ originally by Pet Shop Boys, featuring Jane Odintsova on guest vocals. The song is available on all digital platforms as of yesterday the 9th of October 2026.

During the early stages of the Covid 19 pandemic Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Morten Veland decided to reactivate his solo project Mortemia , this time with a brand new concept consisting of collaborations with multiple guest singers. ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ was a series of singles released on a monthly basis, each song featuring a well known and highly profiled guest singer from the metal scene. Following next was ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’, yet another album featuring songs, all with different guest singers. GAMMACIDE’s Legendary 1987 Demo Returns on Original-Format Cassette

The underground thrash metal legacy of Texas comes roaring back to life.

On October 6, 2026, Savant Guarde Records, through its heavy metal cassette subsidiary Old Guarde Records, proudly released the official reissue of GAMMACIDE’s legendary 1987 Demo, faithfully reproduced from the original release and now available on cassette.

Originally released in 1987, the five-song demo represents one of the earliest and most important documents of Gammacide’s devastating Texas thrash attack. The band’s original lineup featured Varnam Ponville (vocals), Rick Perry (guitars), Eric Roy (bass) and Jamey Milford (drums).

The demo was recorded at Pantego Sound Studios and recorded/produced by Jerry Abbott, father of Pantera legends Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott. The recording captures Gammacide at a crucial moment in the development of their sound, years before the band would release their acclaimed 1989 debut album Victims of Science.

The original five-song track listing is preserved in full:

The 2026 edition has been digitally mastered from the original tapes, while the physical release has been manufactured in the USA by National Audio Company (NAC), one of the very few remaining cassette manufacturers in the world and the last major cassette manufacturer in the United States.

The release uses NAC’s classic high-performance music-grade ferric tape, maintaining the authentic character and aesthetics of the original format.

The J-card artwork faithfully reproduces the original cassette packaging, including the historic band photograph, credits and lyrics.

This is not a modern reinterpretation of the demo.

It is an attempt to preserve the sound, artwork, atmosphere and physical identity of the original 1987 Gammacide cassette for a new generation of metal fans and collectors.

Gammacide originally established their reputation throughout the worldwide underground with their uncompromising Texas thrash metal attack. The band would go on to share stages with legendary acts including Dark Angel, Exodus, Death, Sacred Reich and Morbid Angel, as well as fellow Texas metal pioneers such as Rigor Mortis and Watchtower.

After decades of cult status, Gammacide returned to action and are once again active on the metal scene, bringing the band’s legacy into a new era.

“G.O.D.”, the debut single from NEQUAM, is officially out now worldwide.

The new heavy/death metal band, formed in Milan in 2025, makes its official entrance onto the Italian and international metal scene with a powerful, dark and uncompromising track.

The release also marks the official beginning of the band’s collaboration with Wanikiya Record/Promotion.

But there is one element that makes this debut even more special.

The track features Tommy Massara, legendary guitarist and founding member of Extrema, one of the bands that helped write some of the most important chapters in the history of Italian metal.

Massara’s participation represents a meeting between experience and new energy: on one side, a musician deeply connected to the history of Italian metal; on the other, a new band ready to introduce its own identity to the world.

For NEQUAM, “G.O.D.” is not simply their first single.

It is the first chapter of their discographic journey.

And sharing that first chapter with Tommy Massara of Extrema makes the release even more significant.

G.O.D. — GENERATION OF DESTRUCTION

Behind the title “G.O.D.” lies a double meaning:

Generation Of Destruction.

Generator Of Destruction.

The track is a provocative and nihilistic manifesto against religious hypocrisy, the commercialization of faith, and violence justified in the name of spiritual or ideological dogma.

The lyrics begin with a feeling of individual emptiness:

“I’ve got a hole in my head
And a messed-up prayer”

That emptiness gradually becomes collective. A mind that can no longer see. Humanity losing its direction. People transforming themselves into new gods. And a society in which domination, revolution and redemption become dangerously intertwined.

WHEN FAITH BECOMES DESTRUCTION

“G.O.D.” uses powerful and deliberately provocative imagery. The cross is compared to a rifle. Idols are raised and then brought down. Faith becomes a tool of power.

The line: “Wielding the cross like a rifle in the name of God” perfectly captures the heart of the song.

NEQUAM’s provocation is not simply about attacking spirituality. It is a reflection on what humanity can do with faith when it is transformed into control, ideology and a justification for violence.

A powerful message. A disturbing image. A song that refuses to leave the listener indifferent.

THE NEQUAM SOUND

Thrash metal, death metal and groove metal collide in a sound built around heavy and razor-sharp riffs, devastating rhythms, dark atmospheres and an uncompromising aggressive edge.

The band’s influences range from Slayer, Pantera and Megadeth to Cannibal Corpse, Machine Head, In Flames and Death.

But “G.O.D.” is first and foremost a statement of the NEQUAM identity: a band made up of musicians with more than twenty years of experience, born from the friendship and musical collaboration between Elio La Greca, Marco Mattioli, Lexx and Fulvio Manganini.

The release of “G.O.D.” coincides with the official announcement that NEQUAM have joined the Wanikiya Record/Promotion roster.

The collaboration will support the band through promotion, communication, press office activities and international exposure, helping develop the project and bring NEQUAM’s music to audiences and media both in Italy and internationally.

And “G.O.D.” is only the beginning. NEQUAM are already working on the writing and production of their debut album.

Vesperian is pleased to welcome THE MOSAIC WINDOW, the Black Metal project of Andrew Steven Brown, to the roster.

On the band’s next album, Answered Prayers – out November 13, 2026 – Brown pulls back from the more polished, prog-tinged death/black hybrid of 2024’s Hemasanctum and returns to the band’s original core: first and second wave black metal, filtered through atmospheric rasps of despair and phantasmal, buried death growls. Across ten tracks, its nihilistic concept unfolds – humanity erased retroactively, centuries before the Industrial Revolution, as the only cure for a poisoned world.

Alongside the announcement, the band share the album’s first single, What Sage Could Not Cleanse. An older composition, it anchors Answered Prayers‘ back-to-roots direction: raw, stripped of any polish, a statement of intent – no ritual can purify what’s already beyond saving.

MACERATION Release New Single ‘The Fall of Virtue’ with Lyric Video

“The Fall of Virtue”, the new single and lyric video taken from MACERATION‘s upcoming album “Mercy to the Miserable”, hits with little warning. It just launches itself straight into a furious old-school death metal attack driven by relentless speed, crushing guitars and sharp melodic hooks. One of Maceration’s most direct and aggressive tracks to date, it keeps the intensity high throughout, balancing raw brutality with the band’s unmistakable sense of melody and riff-driven songwriting.

Lyrically, the song takes aim at the idea of virtue becoming a force that controls and confines us, turning the fall of that ideal into a moment of release. Angry, uncompromising and built to hit hard, “The Fall of Virtue” captures Maceration at their most immediate and furious, delivering a concentrated burst of death metal aggression.

Danish death metal veterans Maceration announce the release of their fourth full-length album, “Mercy to the Miserable”, set for release on November 20th, 2026 via Emanzipation Productions. Featuring eight brand-new tracks, the album further develops the band’s old-school death metal sound, combining crushing brutality, speed and melody with the unmistakable Swedish HM-2 guitar tone.

For “Mercy to the Miserable”, Maceration have taken another step forward, joining forces with renowned producer Lawrence Mackrory of Rory Sound. Known for his work with Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, Meshuggah, Vomitory, Lik and many others, Mackrory has mixed and mastered the new album. “We have had a collaboration with Dan Swanö for a long time and he has delivered and shaped our sound since we came back. He has produced two records that sound amazing,” says guitarist Jakob Schultz. “With the new album we wanted to try something new and see what it could do for the sound and the music. We could have easily continued with Swanö, but we think it would be exciting to work with Mackrory. He has produced some fantastic records and can create a sound that we think really fits Maceration perfectly. And we have not regretted it. The new album sounds exactly as we had hoped”.

“Mercy to the Miserable” sees Maceration combining brutality and speed with melodic and catchy riffs. From the fast and direct attack of “The Fall of Virtue” to the heavier “Mind in a Chokehold” and the melodic yet brutal title track, the album represents a natural evolution of the band’s established sound while retaining its old-school identity.

“It is without a doubt one of the best things we have ever done”, Schultz says when he talks about “Mercy to the Miserable.” “There has been a development, but also as we have been together again for several years now, new ideas arise and a security and calmness comes over the band as we become more and more integrated”, he adds.

The album’s lyrical universe explores the darker sides of the human mind, personal journeys, death, grief and human self-perception, while also revisiting classic horror themes. “Lycanthropic Carnage” pays tribute to werewolf movies, while “Absolution of Grace” draws inspiration from the Hellraiser universe. The artwork was created by renowned Spanish artist Roberto Diaz, whose work has previously appeared on releases by Cradle of Filth. The cover marks a visual departure from Maceration’s previous two albums, “It Never Ends…” and “Serpent Devourment”, both featuring artwork by Ola Larsson inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythology.

Maceration’s current lineup features vocalist Jan Bergmann Jepsen, guitarist Jakob Schultz, the band’s only original member and a former member of Invocator, bassist Rune Koldby (ExMortem, Spectral Mortuary), drummer Nicolai Kaltoft (ex-Corpus Mortale) and rhythm guitarist Robert Tengs (ex-Defamatory).

Originally formed in the early 1990s, Maceration released Denmark’s first death metal album, “A Serenade of Agony”, in 1992. After a 30-year hiatus, the band returned in 2022 with “It Never Ends…”, featuring death metal legend Dan Swanö of Edge of Sanity and Bloodbath on vocals. Their third album, “Serpent Devourment”, followed in January 2025, with Swanö involved as producer and mixer.

Since their return, Maceration have performed extensively across Europe, appearing at festivals including Copenhell, Alcatraz, Obscene Extreme, Stonehenge, In Flammen Open Air, Metal Magic and Death Coast. Most recently, the band toured Denmark in 2026 on the Metalized tour with Defacing God and Shadowspawn and also performed as support for Vltimas.

With “Mercy to the Miserable”, Maceration continue to honour the foundations of classic death metal while pushing their sound towards greater brutality, melody and refinement.
