CAR BOMB Release New Single + Video ‘Paroxysm’ from Upcoming EP

Founded in 2000, Car Bomb celebrate their 25th year with the release of a new EP Tiles Whisper Dreams which will be out 1st August, 2025. Consisting of three new tracks, Tiles Whisper Dreams is the band’s first new music to be released since 2019’s Mordial album. The band have recently released a first track ‘Paroxysm’ which is now streaming at the link below.

Pre-order the EP here: https://carbomb.bandcamp.com/album/tiles-whisper-dreams

‘Paroxysm’ reveals a revitalized Car Bomb, seemingly chomping at the bit with all the fury of a band half its age. “This is our first release since before COVID,” states guitarist Kubacki “and we really tried to put our 100% into these songs.”

In under three minutes, the aptly-titled ‘Paroxysm’ delivers a barrage of semi-automatic drum-fire and viscous guitars, conjoined in inscrutable patterns. Vocalist Michael Dafferner mostly roars but lets his singing voice shine in one brief, glistening moment. The song is about “the never-ending struggle with power and control,” he says.

In a genre built on shock and awe, it is tough to be shocking or awe-inspiring these days. With metal in its sixth decade, making an impact is an increasingly difficult feat. The ceiling is red with the blood of straight-line shredders futilely competing for the attention of desensitized ears.

Car Bomb is that rare metal band that have found a pathway through the ceiling – a wormhole, if you will – and have occupied a position of radical transcendence for a quarter-century now. In their 25 years of existence, the New York City-area quartet have been sculpting its own signature sound and cementing its identity as an outlier, above the fray, inspiring a legion of younger musicians in the process.

Car Bomb‘s sound is that of perpetual transformation: a spiraling flurry of rhythm and texture that congeals, fleetingly, into planet-pulverizing death-grooves and fragments of haunting melodies. Baffling rhythmic modulations and deep-space guitar effects appear to warp time completely. Disorientation is the rule, not the exception.

“Their psychotic turbo-thrash is disgustingly disorienting,” reads one Kerrang! review. “One relentless onslaught of time-chopping violence.“

A Stereogum review describes the style as “a rhythmically abstruse variety of extreme metal… hallucinatory time-stretching.“

Car Bomb guitarist Greg Kubacki puts it like this: “When someone asks me what we sound like, I always ask them ‘what’s the heaviest band you listen to?’ and then I say it’s either 10x, 100x, or 1,000x crazier than that, depending on their answer. We aspire to create our own style of heavy music by bending everything: the notes, time signatures, tempos, sonic quality of the guitars, etc. We’re always pushing and pulling everything, ripping ideas apart and then squashing them back together. And as a result our songs might sound chaotic at first, but as they progress the patterns, grooves, and motifs embedded inside all of the mangling and warping will reveal themselves and evolve in unexpected ways. Most people won’t get that deep into our stuff and will just hear a pile of noise, which is fine with us. We’re creating the kind of music we want to hear and that’s all we care about.”

2. Paroxysm
3. Tiles Whisper Dreams

Swedish thrash and melodic death metal band VILT strives to take the Scandinavian sound to new heights. Through aggressive riffs, fast drums, and intense vocal performances they have already established a unique signature style. Following the success of their two-track single Adversary in 2022, which led to a performance at In Flames’ Dalhalla Brinner festival, VILT released the EP …To Mourn The Death Of A Stranger in 2024. July 2nd, the band will perform to a sold-out crowd at Lokverkstaden in Motala alongside In Flames.

The upcoming song is the fifth single from their forthcoming album, described as a straightforward and honest letter to a fractured past. With heavy riffs and powerful lyrics, VILT tears down the illusions that once shaped them.

The New Shadow fully captures both the band’s sound and message. Now, as they return to the stage with In Flames, the circle is complete – everything feels unmistakably VILT

The New Shadow drops July 2nd.

THE DAMN TRUTH Release New Single ‘Addicted’ + Announce PARKER BARROW as Special Guests on UK Tour

Critically acclaimed Montreal four-piece rock band the Damn Truth are pleased to announce that Nashville-based Southern blues rockers Parker Barrow will be special guests on their forthcoming November UK tour. Tickets are available from TheGigcartel.com.

To coincide with the tour news, today the Damn Truth release their new single “Addicted” taken from their current self-titled album. Stream “Addicted” on Spotify and YouTube.

“‘Addicted’ was born from that raw, painful place of not fitting in,” says the Damn Truth’s lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Lee-La Baum.

“It speaks to the dark spiral we sometimes fall into just to feel accepted—chasing trends, numbing who we are, losing ourselves piece by piece. But at its core, this song is a rebellion. A loud, unapologetic cry of freedom. A middle finger to conformity. ‘Addicted’ is about reclaiming your identity and owning it with zero shame. This is who I am. Take it or leave it.”

In 2021, the Damn Truth released their critically acclaimed breakout album Now or Nowhere. Produced by legendary Grammy Award winning Bob Rock (Motley Crue, Metallica, The Offspring, Bon Jovi). On March 14, 2025, the band released their new self-titled album, “The Damn Truth” (also produced by Bob Rock) which features the new single “Addicted.”

Order the new album on vinyl and CD from https://thedamntruth.bigcartel.com.

Order the digital edition of the new album from https://music.spectramusique.com/tdtalbum.

The Damn Truth features Lee-la Baum (vocals, guitar), Tom Shemer (guitar), PY Letellier (bass) and Dave Traina (drums) have toured the UK multiple times and performed at summer festivals including Steelhouse, Winterstorm and Planet Rockstock. After extensively touring the UK and Europe for the last four years, The Damn Truth return with their self-titled fourth album, The Damn Truth, and, once again, produced by the legendary Bob Rock. The new self-titled album is the culmination of 12 years of hard work and constant touring. The Damn Truth are a perpetual and virtually unstoppable rock and roll machine.Fuelled by two Top 40 singles on the Canadian Active Rock Charts (“Love Outta Luck,” “I Just Gotta Let You Know”), the new album marks the next level in their relationship with Bob Rock. He has pushed the band in all areas of playing, writing, and refining the Damn Truth signature sound, most evident in the revelatory power of Lee-la Baum’s vocals as evidenced on the mystic, almost Zeppelin-vibed “The Willow;” the full on bittersweet romance of “Better This Way;” the social conscience of “The Dying Dove;” the cautionary “If Don’t Make It Home;” and the hell yeah rabble rousing  “All Night Long.”

The Damn Truth have added some extra lanes on their rock’n’roll highway as they explore new musical scenery, but the destination remains the same: organic loud rock experienced best in a crowded concert hall dripping in sweat.

The Damn Truth are regular staples on the UK’s biggest classic rock radio station Planet Rock. They first came to prominence on Planet Rock with the title track single from their 2021 album “This Is Who We Are Now” which was also played on BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show. The band received airplay on Planet Rock with tracks from their latest album with the singles “I Just Gotta Let You Know,” “Love Outta Luck,” “Better This Way,” and “All Night Long.”The band have won Tracks of the Week on Classic Rock Magazine’s Louder Sound several times. Earlier this year, Classic Rock published a feature entitled “Six Questions with The Damn Truth.”
Championed by the British music press, the band received extensive magazine coverage in Classic Rock, Rolling Stone, Guitarist, Blues Matters, Powerplay, Fireworks, Blues in Britain, HRH, and R’N’R.

“The Damn Truth are a fresh revivalism of the psyche music scene from the mid-60’s,” says Jeff Laufer of Rock Bands of LA. “Critics and fans praise the Damn Truth’s regeneration of the hard rock sound and values. Bob Rock found a spirit within the band. He saw something special – a band with burning talent that needed the right direction to break wide open; like lightning in a bottle.”

The Damn Truth have extensively toured Europe and North America and opened tours for Z.Z. Top (and partied with Billy Gibbons in his pyjamas), The Sheepdogs, Glenn Hughes, Styx, and Rival Sons. In 2021, they were special guests on Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive Stream-A-Thon. They have just returned from performing on the 2025 Legends Of Rock Cruise with Alice Cooper, Styx, and others; and where the band participated in the end of cruise jam with members of Blackberry Smoke, Jason Bonham’s band, and other rock royalty.

Parker Barrow is a high energy, blues-infused southern rock ‘n’ roll band led by husband-and-wife duo Megan Kane (lead vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums), and features guitarist and musical director Alex Bender. Their name is derived from the notorious 1930’s American bank robbers Bonnie & Clyde.

Parker Barrow’s compelling vintage sound features rock, southern rock, blues, and soul. Their sound is unmistakably their own. The band draws from old and new influences threaded throughout their distinctive sound, including the Allman Brothers, the Black Crowes, Blackberry Smoke, Johnny Cash, the Rolling Stones, Tedeschi-Trucks, Whiskey Myers, and Led Zeppelin.

Their debut album Jukebox Gypsies (2023) and first single “Count Your Dollars” met to great reviews. The music video for their second single “Back To Birmingham” racked up over a million views on YouTube.

Parker Barrow have toured the US with Robert Jon & the Wreck, Feel, Them Dirty Roses, and Kentucky Headhunters. Earlier this year, they released their new single “Make It”. They make their UK live debut at Maid of Stone Festival on Sunday July 20th.

FERVENCE Sign with Metal Blade Records + Announce Live Dates

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 26, 2025

Metal Blade Records is pleased to welcome FERVENCE to its legendary roster for the release of their forthcoming new full-length.

Behind the roll-up door of a warehouse off a nameless dirt road in farm country near Austin, FERVENCE is quietly building something heavy and special. The five-piece progressive metalcore band hails from Reno, Nevada, but in the Summer of 2024, in perhaps the most “Nevada” move of all, the band put all their chips on the table, rolled the dice, and relocated from The Biggest Little City to one of the fastest-growing areas in the country – Austin, Texas. A risky bet for sure, but one that has paid off in spades.

Inspired by bands like Deftones, Architects, and Silent Planet, the FERVENCE sound is an ethereal blend of harsh and lush, navigating between moments of sheer aggression and poignant vulnerability. What started out as the solo project of guitarist Trent Odneal eventually blossomed into a full-on band around 2019, solidified with the recording of their debut album Ghost, released in March of 2020, at the height of the pandemic. The record was well received and well-reviewed-press calling Ghost an “emotionally-laden and hard-hitting record that contemplates what it is to be human [Vinyl Chapters].” Despite the accolades, all FERVENCE‘s promotional and touring efforts were halted by the Covid shutdown.

After a couple lineup changes, the band reemerged in 2023 with vocalist Stevie B. now at the helm, bringing her unique brand of ethereal aggression to the project. The band spent the next year touring the West Coast, continuing to build their local following in Reno opening for the likes of Otep, Left To Suffer, and Gideon, and releasing four singles that would make up their second offering, an EP titled Realm//One.

The first single “Hezekiah,” got the ball rolling, followed a couple months later by “Entropy,” but it wasn’t until the band moved to Texas and released “The Keepers” that the buzz really started to build. The track quickly gained steam internationally, amassing hundreds of thousands of streams within the first six months, and ultimately catching the attention of Metal Blade Records, who signed the band in May of 2025.

“I’ve been dreaming of being in a metal band since I was a little girl and my parents were rock promoters in my hometown,” says Stevie B. “I’m so proud of my bandmates for putting their all into this, and absolutely grateful to the legendary Metal Blade Records for picking us up on this journey. I’m gonna give ‘er all I got.”

Odneal recalls writing songs in the bedroom of his apartment in 2018 and calls the singing to Metal Blade “unreal. I could not possibly be happier and prouder of our team,” he says. “It goes to show, having nurtured our fervent adoration for something I would describe as sacred, music, has opened doors we could have never imagined.”

Having carved out their own space in the Texas metal scene, and with their next chapter set to unfold under the banner of Metal Blade Records, FERVENCE is hard at work writing their most fully realized record to date. Behind the roll-up door of a warehouse off a nameless dirt road – and touring the country throughout 2025 – FERVENCE is building something heavy and special.

Stand by for more news on FERVENCE to be announced in the weeks to come.

PRONG Sign with Napalm Records + Kick Off European Tour on July 30th

Nearly two years after the release of PRONG‘s aggressive, eagerly awaited latest album, State of Emergency – an album Metal Injection described as “the strongest PRONG record to hit the streets in the recent past” and Blabbermouth called “a big, sonically pristine affair” – the New York City native metal icons and premier rock and metal label Napalm Records have officially joined forces, inking a worldwide record deal.

Formed in 1986 by founder/frontman Tommy Victor and cemented into American metal legend, PRONG have never released their grip on the scene. From the 80s club basements of NYC, to the MTV Headbanger’s Ball era with 90s classics Beg to Differ, Prove You Wrong, Cleansing and Rude Awakening, to their official return in the late aughts and today, PRONG have stood their ground as household names in the metal universe, continuing to put out grippingly gritty, provocative and vital records for the next generation of heavy music fans. Napalm Records is proud to welcome PRONG to their multifaceted roster.

Tommy Victor on signing to Napalm Records:
“Oh man, I am honored, thrilled and excited that Prong is now with Napalm Records. It’s simply a fantastic label to be on. I’m so happy about it!”

PRONG‘s signing arrives just on the heels of the band’s upcoming European headline tour celebrating 31 years of their aforementioned 1994 album Cleansing, kicking off on July 30 in Hamburg, DE. Featuring support from Escuela Grind and Vlad In Tears, the upcoming tour will visit several European countries, coming to an end at Angeliter Open Air in Taarstedt, DE on August 16. The tour will also see PRONG performing at Brutal Assault Festival, Alcatraz Metal Festival, and many others.

Before the tour, PRONG will headline a one-off show in Amityville, NY, and post-tour in October, they’ll perform another one-off show at The Whisky in Los Angeles before hitting the stage at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA. See below for all currently confirmed tour dates!
