September 26, 2026, Joe Hasselvander released “Armor Plating”, the title track and lead single from his highly anticipated new album, also titled “Armor Plating”, released through American label Savant Guarde Records.

Listen / Buy / Pre-order the album: JoeHasselvander.lnk.to/armorplating

“Armor Plating” is Hasselvander’s second album for Savant Guarde Records, following 2025’s “Fire on the Mountain”. The two releases can be seen as twin works in a continuing musical journey from the artist affectionately known by his fans as “The Godfather of Dooom.”

The announcement of a second Joe Hasselvander release in less than a year has been met with enthusiasm by fans around the world, celebrating the return of an artist whose career and unmistakable sound have made him a unique figure within Heavy Rock and Doom.

In spring 2017, a health scare forced Joe to step away from drumming and touring completely. Although he returned to the studio with The Hounds of Hasselvander in 2021, that project represented a band effort rather than the distinctive one-man recording approach for which Hasselvander is particularly known.

Following the recording of 2025’s “Fire on the Mountain”, Joe’s dedication to health and spiritual growth allowed him to return to both drumming and songwriting.

The release of “Armor Plating” also coincides with the 25th anniversary of Pentagram’s legendary “Sub-Basement”, released in 2001 — an album for which Joe Hasselvander is widely recognized as a major creative force.

Joe performed all drums, guitar and bass on “Sub-Basement” and co-produced the record with his former musical counterpart Bobby Liebling, continuing a musical history that dates back to 1978.

With “Sub-Basement”, Hasselvander developed a distinctive recording approach that remains highly regarded by fans of the genre. His ability to create a complete, powerful sonic landscape through his multi-instrumental and production work became a defining element of his musical identity.

“Armor Plating” continues the evolution of Hasselvander’s one-man sonic studio craft, now strengthened by decades of musical experience.

That journey has included live performances and recording sessions with some of Joe’s lifelong musical heroes, including legendary psychedelic/acid rock pioneers Blue Cheer, as well as his years with Raven, one of the iconic names of the NWOBHM movement.

Joe remained with Raven until 2017 and continued his work with his solo project The Hounds of Hasselvander until 2021.

During his years with The Hounds, Joe also welcomed a number of special guests and musicians into his studio, including T.C. Tolliver of the Plasmatics, as well as his Savoy Brown bandmate Jimmy Kunes, with whom he recorded several duets.

Now, “Armor Plating” and 2025’s “Fire on the Mountain” stand together as two powerful peaks in Hasselvander’s continuing musical journey — showcasing the talent, heaviness and unmistakable character that have defined his work throughout the years.

We are negotiating with a lot of serious record labels, to shop the EP I co-wrote in Nashville with one of the best musicians I know, and one of my greatest friends, Kyle Kelso in 2025. In the end the version on Wildstreet III was the original version, lyrics and arrangement. For those who don’t know, you can hear it on Peacemaker Season 2, Ep.1, for those who know, listen to the rest of our catalogue cuz you’ll love it! Definitely tell your friends, follow us on socials, and if you like it, rock with Wildstreet in 2027. “

“Troubled man is the bluesiest yet the heavier track of the ep, that alternates psychedelic and desert sounding verses with heavy choruses that remind to the ball and chain hammering rhythm. MASON Release New Album “Edge Of Destruction”, Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 28, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: MASON. Leave a comment

MASON released their new album “Edge Of Destruction” on 25th September, out on Eonian Records.

Marcus states: “Our third album, Edge of Destruction, has been the most fun and creative period we’ve experienced over the past year of writing and recording. The album’s title continues the post-apocalyptic story established by I Can’t Wait (2024) and Seconds to Impact (2025).

We recorded many demos and explored a lot of ideas, but this time we really wanted to expand our sound and push the limits of the creative process during the song-development stage. That included bringing in two tracks from keyboardist Peter Penhallow’s band Timmy/Eye – ‘Here I Am’ and ‘Eye for an Eye’ (Bonus Track) – as well as John McAfee’s ‘This Thing Called Love.’ These songs have become some of the most important tracks on the album and complement our sound and musical style extremely well.

So many amazing and legendary musicians have rejoined the project from our previous two albums, including John McAfee (The Affair, Big Game), Rick Mead (Syre, Helix, Platinum Overdose), Nilver Perez (The Revlin Project), and Sooraj K (Snarm). For this album, we were also incredibly fortunate to collaborate with legendary vocalist and songwriter Steve Overland (FM, Lonerider, Wildlife, Kings of Mercia), who contributed backing vocals to ‘This Thing Called Love.’

Bryan Hughes is another legendary AOR musician (Beau Geste, Bryan Hughes Group, Devay) who helped produce and performed guitar, bass, and keyboards on ‘Tomorrow Never Comes.’ In addition, we brought in Jeff Pilson (Dokken, War & Peace, Foreigner) to play bass on ‘Here I Am,’ adding even more punch and energy to the album’s opening track. Lukky S (Timson AOR), Aki Bouzid, Mike Bozzo, Gino Braun (Rotten Rose), Dylan Haines (Bryan Hughes Group), Eric Castiglia, and many others were also amazing guests who contributed additional guitars, solos, bass lines, and backing vocals throughout the album. Having so many talented musicians contribute to Edge of Destruction made the record even more special.”

Some artists spend years chasing the sound of their youth. Marcus Mason has spent a lifetime figuring out how to push it forward. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in 1988, Marcus Mason came of age at a time when the musical landscape was moving rapidly away from the sounds that fascinated him most. While rap, hip-hop, punk, and post-grunge dominated much of the late ’90s and early 2000s, Mason found himself looking backward: to the melodic hard rock, arena-sized choruses and polished AOR of the late ’70s, ’80s and early ’90s. It was not nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. It was instinct.

Mason’s breakthrough came in 2024 with the release of his debut album, “I Can’t Wait”, through Lions Pride Music. The record introduced a songwriter with an unapologetic affection for classic AOR but enough personality to make the formula his own. Songs including “One Life,” “I Can’t Wait” and “My Desire” emerged as standouts, while the album drew enthusiastic reviews from outlets including Fireworks Magazine, ViriAOR and Rockposer. In Germany, Rock It! reviewer Jörg Bonszkowski ranked “I Can’t Wait” among his Top 10 albums of 2024, placing it at No. 6. For Mason, the debut established the blueprint. The next album would expand it.

In 2025, Mason signed with Eonian Records for sophomore release “Seconds to Impact”, a record that marked a noticeable leap in songwriting, performance, and production. Led by the July 2025 single “All I Ever Wanted,” and followed by “Hard to Tame” and “Waiting for You,” the album broadened Mason’s profile within the international melodic rock and AOR community. “Seconds to Impact” balanced the unmistakable DNA of classic AOR with a more contemporary edge: smooth, melodic hard rock built around muscular guitars, polished keyboards, memorable choruses, and Mason’s clear, melodic vocals.

Now comes the record designed to push Mason further still. Mason’s third album, “Edge Of Destruction” is not about abandoning what worked. It is about making everything bigger. Across eleven songs and an instrumental, Mason moves confidently between hard-driving melodic rock, mid-tempo AOR and sweeping ballads, with a renewed emphasis on songwriting, arrangements, and production. The hooks remain immediate, but the scope has widened. The guitars are still big. The keyboards still shimmer. The choruses still arrive with the intention of staying in your head long after the record stops spinning.

But by Edge of Destruction, Mason no longer sounds like an artist searching for his identity.
He sounds like one who has found it.

NERVOCHAOS Unleash Horror-Themed Video for ‘Lorde dos Mortos’ from Upcoming Album

For the first time in their 30-year career, Brazilian death metal group NervoChaos delivers a song performed entirely in Portuguese, bringing the full weight and identity of the band into their native tongue. Titled “Lorde dos Mortos,” the song serves as the second preview from their fourteenth album, Chaosmongers, set for release on 13 November2026 via Black Lion Records on 13 November 2026 on CD and vinyl as well as digitally; while Tumba Records licenses the CD and vinyl editions for Brazil.

Drawing on chaos as its central creative force, the album contains twelve tracks, eleven of which are new, alongside “Porcos Sanguinários,” a tribute to the legendary Brazilian band Ratos de Porão. Chaosmongers is a work that connects the cosmos, the occult, and human resilience, and is open to various interpretations, rejecting linear narratives and allowing listeners to create their own reading. At its core, an entity traverses death, explores unknown realms, faces suffering, and becomes sovereign of a kingdom beyond our understanding. This narrative reflects a personal journey through downfall, self-discovery, transformation, and empowerment. This duality is present throughout the album. The compositions act as narrative, atmosphere, and reflection, providing diverse experiences within a single work. Chaos appears not only as destruction but as a force capable of breaking boundaries and creating new realities.

The music video for “Lorde dos Mortos” was produced and scripted by Brazilian horror filmmaker Rodrigo Aragão, carrying the spirit of Brazil’s legendary horror tradition into the world of NervoChaos.

NervoChaos says:“‘Lorde dos Mortos’ tells the story of a fantastical sovereign from the realm of the dead — an entity capable of bringing back those who are no longer among the living. Brazilian extreme metal meets Brazilian horror cinema!”

Watch the music video for “Lorde dos Mortos” below, and find the track on digital/streaming platforms HERE.

NervoChaos recently joined Bloodbath for their SICKENING LATIN AMERICA tour in September 2026. They are also confirmed for Perth Deathfest 2027 on 27 February, while they will share the stage with Hellbutcher, Massacre, and Wisdom on 15 October in Montevideo, Uruguay, and on 16 October in Asunción, Paraguay.

Revisit the the first single, “Embrace Chaos”: Watch the lyric video HERE and stream/download the track HERE.

The album Chaosmongers was produced by Edu Lane, recorded in São Paulo, Brazil, by Adriano Daga, and mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström. The visual identity for Chaosmongers, created by Niklas Sundin, combines imagery of the vast universe and cosmic explosions with the energy of the audience at the band’s shows. The central idea is that the chaotic force that moves galaxies and changes worlds also manifests in the human experience through creation, overcoming adversity, and collective expression.

Track Listing:
01. I Am Darkness
02. Chaosmongers
03. Embrace Chaos
04. Echoes of the Damned
05. The Devil’s Man
06. In Shadows They Dwell
07. Dark Fables
08. Lorde Dos Mortos
09. Beyond the Cosmic Ocean
10. In the Vast Void
11. Liber 420
12. Porcos Sanguinarios (Ratos De Porão Cover)

Pre-Order Chaosmongers on vinyl, CD, and digital, as well as band merchandise, from your preferred distributors HERE.

Founded in spring 1996, NervoChaos is led by Edu Lane, who, driven by a desire to form an extreme metal band that combined heaviness and technicality without being tied to pre-established musical labels, recruited friends to join him. One month later, the band released its first demo on cassette. Over the past three decades, NervoChaos has amassed 24 releases across various formats and toured extensively throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania, sharing stages with important names in the global metal scene. This relentless frequency of releases and tours has helped establish a robust global fan base.

The fourteenth album, Chaosmongers, showcases the band’s evolution, blending a strong old-school traditional vibe without sounding dated or like a retro project. Abundant riffs and thrash metal influences combine with the brutality of death metal, while the riffs remain varied and focused, without unnecessary embellishments, serving the music first and foremost. The album also explores universal themes that transcend cultural, spiritual, and existential boundaries. As the band explains: “It’s more than just an album; it’s an invitation to see chaos as the beginning of transformation.”
