Technical death metal architects REVOCATION will release their new full-length New Gods, New Masters on September 26th via Metal Blade Records!

REVOCATION creates extreme music for extreme times. On New Gods, New Masters, their fifth record for Metal Blade, the quartet – spearheaded by founder/vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson – delivers nine potent and portentous songs of brutal lyrical and musical significance. While their critically-lauded, 2022-released Netherheaven full-length set a high bar for the band, an even sharper musical and lyrical focus was achieved on New Gods, New Masters. The Boston-bred Davidson credits newest members Harry Lannon (rhythm guitar and backing vocals since 2023) and bassist Alex Weber with a renewed energy and intensity both in the studio and onstage. “It’s been a pleasure ripping with those guys alongside Ash (Pearson), who always crushes it behind the kit,” he notes. In terms of his own playing, writing, and singing he adds, “I’m always refining my craft and trying to get better.”

Titling the album New Gods, New Masters reflects Davidson’s belief about humans’ need to worship various gods. “It seems as if that desire is encoded in our DNA. As science and our understanding of nature and the universe as a whole increases, the religions of the old gods start to become obsolete,” he says. “However, I believe we’ve replaced our old gods with new ones, worshipping technology and creating a cult-like idolatry of innovators. I’ve been very fascinated with the development of Artificial Intelligence, and I’m deeply concerned where this could lead humanity whether it’s the slow march towards a technological dystopia or the all-out annihilation of our species.“

In advance of the record’s release, today the band unveils first single, “Cronenberged,” featuring guest vocals by Jonny Davy of Job For A Cowboy. The track centers itself on a science experiment gone wrong. “I’m a massive sci-fi horror fan and love the body horror genre that David Cronenberg helped to create so this is my homage to that,” notes Davidson. “Also, shout out to Rick And Morty for inspiring the song title.”

“The video for ‘Cronenberged’ features tons of gore and practical effects,” he continues. “It was so fun to create a little mini sci-fi horror movie for this track. Getting to transform into a hideous tentacle monster was a real treat. I knew things were going well when the My Good Eye film crew were gagging at how gross it was off screen.“

New Gods, New Masters was produced by Davidson and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (The Haunted, Spiritbox) with artwork by Paolo Girardi (Bell Witch, Mother Of Graves, Black Breath, Cryptopsy). In addition to Jonny Davy, the record includes guest appearances by Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation, Luc Lemay of Gorguts, and jazz guitarist Gilad Hekselman.

Iconic UK Heavy Metallers AIRFORCE Release New Music Video ‘The Fury’

Following the release of their latest, much-acclaimed studio album Acts of Madness (released in February 2025 via ROAR HERE), London/UK-based iconic NWOBHM band AIRFORCE, featuring Doug Sampson (ex-Iron Maiden), has shared a new music video for “The Fury”!

“The Fury is a song about a nice person having an inner Demon, and attempting to control both the good and the Bad”, the band reveals. “An inner battle between Dark and Light, good and Evil, a sort of Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde situation. To a much lesser degree, this is something that a lot of people have said they have going on inside them.

Strangely enough, the song title inspiration came from the Bad Pitt Movie “Fury” about a disabled Sherman Tank fighting a superior force. Tony had the initial idea of an evil entity deep inside a person fighting to get out, and had written some lyrics and an outline melody. Unusually for Airforce the song then came together quite quickly.

Tony took the song idea to Chops home studio and Chop perfected the guitar Riffs. All of Airforce worked on “The Fury” over the period of a few weeks. Everything about this song seemed to fit just right, and we knew we had a good song progressing well. Finally, we took “The Fury” to Jez Coad our producer who added a few more ideas, which included slowing down part of the mid-section.
We are very pleased with the way this song turned out when it was completed.”

“The Fury” was included on the recently released Airforce album Acts of Madness. Watch the video clip, recorded at Bikers Beer Factory in Zagreb, Croatia, and directed by Vidokk, now premiering here:

Acts of Madness is a comeback worthy of the standard-bearer of the entire genre and an album that will strongly resonate within the metal community worldwide. The album showcases the band’s ability to evolve the AIRFORCE sound while staying true to their signature style, that has defined them for decades. Created during challenging times, the album represents a bold step forward for the band, blending their hard rock and heavy metal influences into a powerful collection of tracks. With 11 songs and nearly an hour of material, the album delivers the epic, arena-worthy sound that fans have come to expect from AIRFORCE!

Despite the adversity the band faced, including the global pandemic and the tragic loss of their producer and close friend Pete Franklin, the band forged ahead with unwavering determination. The project took a poignant turn after Franklin’s passing, as the band lost many of the original recordings. Fortunately, longtime collaborator Jezz Coad stepped in to help bring the album to completion. Coad, who originally worked with AIRFORCE in the 1980s, was instrumental in shaping the final product. This album stands as a tribute to Franklin, whose influence is felt throughout the tracks.

Recorded initially at his studio in 2020, the production was delayed due to the pandemic, resulting in the loss of much of the material. However, the band’s resilience ensured the album was finished, with demos salvaged from previous sessions. The result is an album that feels deeply personal to the band, encapsulating both their struggles and triumphs. Fans of AIRFORCE can expect a powerful, emotionally charged listening experience, with the grandeur of heavy metal that’s perfect for large arenas! A recent performance at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá, Colombia, reaffirmed the band’s place in the metal scene, as fans responded enthusiastically to both classic hits and new material from the album. Dedicated to Pete Franklin, this album captures the heart and soul of AIRFORCE ’s journey, ensuring his legacy will live on through their music.

Acts of Madness track listing:

  1. Among The Shadows

Eco-conscious metal collective SAVAGE LANDS, the non-profit founded by Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and musician-activist Sylvain Demercastel, will hold an official press conference at Hellfest 2025 on Saturday, June 21st at 14:00 CEST.

The conference will introduce Savage Lands’ first-ever land preservation project in France, marking the creation of the country’s inaugural metal forest. Together with main collaborator HEILUNG, and explanation of the project will and its future will be given. This new phase of the Savage Lands program includes active partnerships with two French environmental organizations:

  • Association Francis Hallé pour la Forêt Primaire – https://www.foretprimaire-francishalle.org/en/
  • Etat Sauvage – https://www.etatssauvages.org/reseau-foret-sauvage
  • Semeurs de Forêts – https://semeursdeforets.org/

With music royalties as their weapon of choice, Savage Lands has already preserved over 100,000 square feet of forest in Costa Rica, planted 11,000+ trees, and launched numerous campaigns to convert land into permanent nature sanctuaries.

Following the 30-minute announcement and Q&A session, Savage Lands will invite press and fans alike to their official Savage Lands Hellfest stand at 16:00 for a meet & greet with Heilung — a historic first for the esoteric collective whose past collaborations with Savage Lands include the tracks “Black Rock Heart” and “No Remedy”. Vocalist Maria Franz and ritual artist Kai Uwe Faust have both contributed to the project musically and philanthropically, with Heilung previously donating $1 per ticket sold during their recent tours to fund Savage Lands’ mission.

A special statement will be made about Savage Lands’ support of Goodall’s first wildlife reserve in France. “Réserve deVie Sauvage du tremor”, a wildlife conservation initiative operating in France. This announcement will coincide with a giveaway of100 limited-edition HEILUNG / Savage Lands posters, signed and numbered limited to 100 units, exclusive to this occasion.

Listening is donating directly to the cause!

Having seen first-hand how deforestation threatens Costa Rica’s rain forest, two angry metalheads are banging their heads together to protect the world’s ecosystem.

“After hearing the chainsaws on a daily basis, we knew it was time to act”, says musician-turned-activist Sylvain Demercastel, “because the buzzing is only getting louder”.

Sylvain founded Savage Lands with his long-time friend and Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren in 2022. Thanks to their music, the 501 (c) (3) non-profit has preserved 100,000 square feet of forest in high-risk areas along the Costa Rican coastline. 100% of the royalties from their first album, Army of the Trees, support their ongoing preservation projects in Costa Rica and other countries.

The roots behind Savage Lands run deep. Dirk and Sylvain first met in France during the late ‘90s, when they both played in the socially conscious thrash metal band Artsonic. But just like a tree, the organization is supported by different types of branches.

“As a non-profit, we depend on the support of other organizations, fellow artists and our listeners”, Dirk says.

In Costa Rica, Savage Lands partners with scientists, forest engineers, ecological parks, private businesses and other non-profits. Their Green Alliance (Alianza Verde) has led to more than 11,000 trees being planted in deforested areas throughout Costa Rica thanks to the help of 1,200 volunteers.

“What Savage Lands is doing is fantastic,” says Dr. Jane Goodall, whose global institute is partnering with the metal non-profit’s European branch on preservation projects in France and Africa. “Nature is music. Trees have music, but when we lose species after species, our ecosystem collapses. Savage Lands are using their music to support projects that promote biodiversity, which will help make the world better for future generations”.

Collaboration also fuels the creative fires of Savage Lands. The core band includes Poun and Etienne Treton from the veteran French metalcore band Black Bomb A, along with Loco Muerte’s Florian Pons. When they planted their ecological flag on Hellfest’s main stage in 2024, movers and shakers from across the metal sphere showed up to support. Not only did the festival leader pledge to donate 1 million Euro to the organizations over the next five years. Daniel de Jongh (Textures), Silje Wergeland (The Gathering), Jesper Liveröd (Nasum), Alejandro Montoya (Cultura tres), Vincent Price (Body Count), Billy Graziadei (Biohazard), Shane Embury (Napalm Death) and Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) all joined for an appropriately bloody and scream-worthy rendition of “Roots”.

“I’m happy to be a part of such a truly important cause”, Embury said after the performance. “We are connected with every living thing on this planet and Savage Lands is helping to preserve nature’s treasures”.

Army of the Trees features even more metallic fire power. Out of the sludgy distortion that spews from “The Last Howl” crawls Obituary’s John Tardy, who pays a fitting tribute to the endangered Howler monkey by unleashing his inner primate with spit-flinging growls. “Black Rock Heart” carves out a wickedly blackened groove, though the song’s aggressive chug is fueled by more spiritual concerns. “We wanted the music to reflect our mounting frustration with the way the real estate heat wave is destroying Costa Rica’s ecosystem”, Sylvain says. “For so long, nature has been trying to warn us that we’re putting our future at risk”. Who else could represent the magical spirit of the forest but visionary artist Chloé Trujillo and Heilung’s chief of ceremonies Kai Uwe Faust.

Heilung are also working with Savage Lands outside of the recording studio. The world-famous Nordic collective donated $1 for every ticket sold during their most-recent U.S. tour to support their Season of Mist labelmates. “Supporting Savage Lands was an easy decision for us”, says Maria Franz, whose soothing high notes grace the melancholic power ballad “No Remedy”.

“That’s another beautiful thing about Savage Lands”, Sylvain says. “As a band, we’re not limited to just one genre. We can adapt to boost the strengths of whomever is joining us”.

Savage Lands’ debut album introduces several new species of metalhead to their ecosystem. Eurovision’s darlings Lord Of The Lost spill their blood and glitter over the spiky riffs that puncture “Out of Breath”. Holding court over lead single “Ruling Queen” with her serpentine cleans and lioness roar is none other than Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz. “Now is the time to take a stand”, the band roar in a fierce rallying cry during the album’s climactic title track, backed by Julien Truchan from Benighted and other pillars from the French metal community.

“Our goals are attainable,” Sylvain and Dirk say. “By converting the land that we purchase into nature sanctuaries, Savage Lands will help set a precedent for environmental activism. But we must work together and quickly. Ecosystems are still under attack. If we don’t, then there won’t be any wildlife left to save”.

Raise your horns and join the Army of the Trees in support of the metal  non-profit.

Ballarat’s rising metal juggernaut Distorta returns with “The Reaper”, a bone-crushing new single lifted from their upcoming EP Deadman, due for release via Wormholedeath.

Face the darkness with “The Reaper”, a brutal groove death metal anthem about desperation and the inevitable grip of fate. With savage riffs and haunting lyrics, the Reaper is closing in—can we escape?

Pre-Save Deadman EP: https://orcd.co/deadmanep

Blending elements of groove, death, thrash, and power metal, Distorta delivers their signature sound—crushingly heavy yet undeniably catchy, with massive choruses made to be chanted at full volume.

Following their debut Devil in the Dust, the band has levelled up—recording, mixing, and mastering Deadman entirely on their own. The result: a tighter, heavier, and more aggressive sonic assault.

“Reaper” is only the beginning.
The Deadman is coming.

ODC Premiere New Video ‘My Only Fan (Feat. SUN)’

French alternative metal band ODC are excited to share their new single “My Only Fan (feat. SUN)”, out now via BLKIIBLK.

Following the raw vulnerability and melodic intensity of their previous single “Love, I Tore It Apart”, the band now takes a darker, more provocative turn with “My Only Fan (feat. SUN)”.

With its intense contrasts, cutting-edge production, and unapologetic emotion, “My Only Fan (feat. SUN)” pushes ODC further into their own distinctive universe of modern metal.

Commenting on the track, the band stated: “This song merges sharp, syncopated riffs with sleek electronic textures and two commanding female voices – a haunting lead by Celia Do (ODC’s frontwoman) and a raw, unrestrained scream from SUN, the featured guest. It’s dark, cinematic, and seductive, diving into the blurred line between desire and obsession. The track explores themes of control, exhibition, and emotional detachment, dressed in the atmosphere of neon-lit nights and luxury gone sour”.

Stream “My Only Fan (feat. SUN)” HERE

ODC is the soundtrack of a hybrid generation. A sonic uppercut, balancing raw power and elegance.

Born in Paris in 2017, ODC is the result of two worlds coming together: the world of Celia Do, a vocalist with a striking identity, and that of a composer driven by the same fire – the desire to create an alternative metal project that breaks free from conventions: bold, modern, and uncompromising. From this spark, a true sonic and visual odyssey emerged.

ODC – named after Celia’s stage name acronym – became a totally creative space, where heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and contemporary electronic textures collide in a unique blend of raw energy and polished aesthetic. ODC is a bold blend of metal, modern rock and immersive electronic atmospheres.

Inspired by artists such as Devin Townsend, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park and BMTH, ODC doesn’t fit in any box. The band asserts its own voice — powerful, hybrid, sharp and emotional.
Their songs are modern mantras, telling stories of freedom, downfall, and resilience. Music that hits hard — and hits deep. A constant dialogue between introspection and explosion.

The band is built around four distinct artistic personalities: Celia Do (lead singer, founder and producer, the rock frontwoman of the band), Sonny, a.k.a. MX MNK (a bassist with roots in hardcore and black metal, and a rapper with visceral energy). Then, Raphaël (an 8-string guitarist blending classic rock, hard rock, and atmospheric textures), and Hector (a drummer forged in the death metal scene, delivering explosive rhythmic power).

After a well-received debut EP in 2019 (“Ending The Boredom”), ODC carved their path through a series of powerful singles between 2020 and 2023, asserting their hybrid identity and ability to break genre boundaries. In 2024, the project took a major leap forward: writing their first full-length album, produced in Nashville by Kellen McGregor (Memphis May Fire).

Line Up:
Celia Do – Vocals
MX MNK – Bass
Raphaël – Guitars
Hector – Drums

Craft Recordings Celebrates 30th Anniversary of FILTER’s Seismic Debut “Short Bus” with Limited-Edition Vinyl Reissue

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 19, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Craft Recordings, FILTER. Leave a comment

Craft Recordings celebrates the 30th anniversary of Filter’s seismic debut, Short Bus—the Platinum-selling industrial-alt milestone that introduced the era-defining smash “Hey Man Nice Shot,” plus fan favorites “Dose,” “Under” and more—with a limited-edition vinyl reissue. Arriving August 15 and available to pre-order today, the LP will be pressed in five collector colorways—Translucent Forest Green (Filter Official Store), Velvet Red (Barnes & Noble), Crimson Moon (Vinyl Voice), Bone (Books-A-Million) and Green Smoke (Revolver).

For frontman Richard Patrick—fresh off a stint as touring guitarist for Nine Inch Nails during the Pretty Hate Machine era—Short Bus was a defiantly DIY statement, recorded largely in a Lakewood, Ohio basement on a shoestring budget. Yet its impact reverberated far beyond its humble origins, influencing subsequent waves of industrial metal and electronic-driven alternative acts. Cuts like “Dose,” “Stuck in Here” and “It’s Over” showcased a band unafraid to juxtapose punishing distortion with unexpected melodic hooks and atmospheric textures.

First launched in May 1995, Short Bus burst onto modern-rock radio with the ferocious single “Hey Man Nice Shot.” MTV named it “Song of the Week” upon release, while Rolling Stone hailed the album as “a timely combination of grunge heat and industrial ice, raw emotion riding a steel pulse of digital rhythm.” Powered by Patrick’s serrated riffs and visceral vocals, the track propelled the album to platinum status and cemented Filter as trailblazers bridging industrial intensity with hook-laden guitar rock.

Short Bus launched a far-reaching career that saw Filter evolve with Platinum follow-up Title of Record (1999)—featuring the crossover hit “Take a Picture”—and critically acclaimed albums such as The Amalgamut (2002), Anthems for the Damned (2008) and 2023’s The Algorithm. Across three decades, Patrick has steered Filter through lineup changes and shifting trends, amassing millions of records sold worldwide.

Patrick reflects, “So much has changed over the last 30 years. I’ve gotten married, had two wonderful children and been around the world many times, but the one constant through it all has been Filter—and it all started with Short Bus. I think back to what a thrill it was writing and recording these songs, and how much fun I still have performing them. To me, this album sounds as fresh and vital as it did when it first came out in 1995.”

Fans can experience the band’s relentless energy on the road this summer as Filter joins Alice in Chains co-founder Jerry Cantrell for a run of U.S. dates, listed below.
