HELLFOX’s New Album “The Spectrum of Human Gravity” Out Now

After months of anticipation, Italian all-female melodic death metal band HELLFOX officially released their new album “The Spectrum Of Human Gravity“ on June 6th, 2025 via Rockshots Records.

Preceded by the singles “Seaweed Braids” and “Atlas”, the album marks a crucial step in the band’s evolution, both sonically and emotionally. With its unique blend of melodic death metal, distorted synths, and dual female vocals, “The Spectrum Of Human Gravity” takes listeners on an introspective journey through the fragmented and complex world of human emotions.

The two singles already released have set the tone for this powerful record. “Seaweed Braids” introduced the album’s emotional depth with haunting melodies and symbolic lyrics about loss and identity (Watch on YouTube | Listen). The second single, “Atlas,” explored the crushing weight of societal expectations and inner burdens, offering a cathartic release wrapped in a heavy and immersive sound (Watch on YouTube | Listen).

Now, with the full album out, Hellfox present a cohesive work that delves into universal yet difficult topics—loneliness, mental struggles, the desire to be heard—without ever lapsing into cliché or self-pity. Instead, each track presents a new voice, a new fragment of the self allowing listeners to interpret the songs through their own lens.

Recorded at Eden Studio by Alessio Lucatti and mixed/mastered by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio, “The Spectrum Of Human Gravity” balances raw heaviness with refined production, highlighting Hellfox’s growth as a band and their fearless approach to songwriting. The sound, deeply rooted in Nordic melodic death metal, incorporates pop and electronic nuances, especially in the clean vocals and synth textures, creating a dynamic and deeply personal listening experience.

For fans of Amorphis, In Flames and Dark Tranquillity Hellfox offer more than music—they offer connection, honesty and a mirror into the depths of human gravity.

“The Spectrum Of Human Gravity” is now available on all digital platforms.

ABOUT:

HELLFOX is an ALL FEMALE alternative metal (alt-metal) band with melodic death tendencies. Despite the four completely different musical backgrounds, we share a common inspiration to Amorphis, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity as far as composition is concerned, while for the choice of sounds we intended to move away from the Symphonic, recognizably feminine scenario to include acid and distorted synths so that we could create modern atmospheres that more closely met our tastes and better married the pop timbre of the melodic vocals. The dualism of HELLFOX is not meant to be understood on a conflicting level, it is instead the result of different voices within the human soul, different faces if you will, that mingle and generate the person itself, in its entirety, that although they seem to struggle, they coexist and create harmony and balance. We don’t use masks to conform to a mass, nor do we want to stand out at all costs, we just want to be ourselves in a society where normality is only a surface, the abyss instead is made up of so many facets of personality, both for the group and especially for the individual human being. Ours is a message within everyone’s reach, in which one can recognize oneself: that little voice in the head that either draws you in or drives you away… Because for us, nothing is normal, nothing is different.

SIGNS OF THE SWARM Release New Single/Video ‘Clouded Retinas’, Feat. Will Ramos

Pittsburgh deathcore titans Signs of the Swarm are celebrating just ahead of a mammoth European festival trek by releasing new song “Clouded Retinas,” featuring Will Ramos. The run will feature appearances at legendary fests like Hellfest, Graspop, Rock for People and Sweden Rock, plus a co-headlining slot at the return of the UK’s Ghostfest. Peppered between are three sold-out shows supporting Lorna Shore and one supporting Fit for an Autopsy, plus multiple headliners with the likes of Mental Cruelty and Terminal Sleep—the former with whom the band will tour around North America this coming fall!

Stream this new single—”Clouded Retinas” (feat. Will Ramos)—now here; the official visualizer can be seen below.

“‘Clouded Retinas’ is about my struggle coming to terms with my vision loss and diagnosis of Stargardt disease,” explains vocalist David Simonich, who is having an internal dialogue with himself in the song. “I asked my friend Will Ramos to hop on the song not just to make it sound sick but also to spread awareness of degenerative diseases and disability. With Will holding it down for today’s deathcore, I tried to showcase my influences from Nate Johnson and Vincent Bennett because the song feels modern yet nostalgic at the same time.”

“Clouded Retinas” is taken from the band’s upcoming sixth full-length, To Rid Myself of Truth, which is due to be released August 22nd via Century Media Records. For more from To Rid Myself of Truth—pre-order the record in various formats here: https://SignsOfTheSwarm.lnk.to/ToRidMyselfOfTruth-AlbumPR and listen to the previously released single, “HELLMUSTFEARME”, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLD1_WdmxtI

Reunited with producer Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Mental Cruelty, Varials, King 810), Signs Of The Swarm continues molting their slamming deathcore exoskeleton, revealing a band now as indebted to Meshuggah, Gojira and Fear Factory as any of the deathcore bands they grew up on—now peers. After writing breakout 5th LP Amongst the Low & Empty (2023) almost entirely in-studio, the group geared up to do it again on To Rid Myself of Truth. This stint’s 7-week lead time—PLUS the in-studio time—was a veritable vacation for the band, with the addition of guitarist/backing vocalist Carl Schulz adding a whole other set of riffing hands (and vocal chords) to the band. It was plenty of time for the now-quartet, rounded out by bassist Michael Cassese, to craft metal exactly as they think it should sound: MORE. PISSED. And it is. Musically the album’s edges are far more serrated than their last’s flirtations with djenty bounce. Read the full bio for To Rid Myself of Truth here.

OV SULFUR Release New Single ‘Seed’, Currently on Tour

Blackened deathcore band Ov Sulfur has released a new standalone single, “Seed“, via Century Media Records. “Seed” marks a rebirth for the quintet, whose growth from the sinful streets of Las Vegas to titans of a more melodic side of the genre has exploded in popularity alongside the likes of Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent and Mental Cruelty. Watch the official visualizer below.

“‘Seed’ is about the constant doubt I feel in every facet of life and how I feel we all share that together,” explains vocalist Ricky Hoover. “Imagine how it would eat away at you if so-called ‘eternal life’ were real? Sounds like torture to me: more hell than heaven.”

Guitarist/vocalist Chase Wilson expands on the musical journey: “This was the first song we started writing for what may or may not be a new album,” hints Wilson. “I think we’ve improved our songwriting in leaps and bounds once again, which we already did from the EP to ‘The Burden Ov Faith’, and the reaction to this song live on our tour with Nekrogoblikon backs that up.

“‘Seed’ has one of our best choruses yet, and we use it around melodeath riffs and brutal deathcore breakdowns. Actually, we even put it on top of the song-ending breakdown, where it fits perfectly—after already playing it standard and even blasting through it to give it another flavor. This song has every flavor of Ov Sulfur and then some!”

Though b-sides would trickle out in the time since The Burden Ov Faith’s March 2023 release—including “Hivemind,” on which Mental Cruelty vocalist Lukas Nicolai joins Ricky Hoover—”Seed” was the first chance since for them to really dissect their sound and re-shape it.

And that they did, strengthening their unique deathcore/metalcore hybrid guitarist/vocalist Chase Wilson has been crafting since the band’s 2021 launch. It’s as brutal as other former tourmates like Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin or Aborted, but the melodic hooks, now pointed narrower than a needle, sink their way deeper.

It’s a threat that will no doubt continue taking shape. Though they’ve gone through members in their rapid ascent, drummer Leviathvn here realizes his potential beyond the kit as symphonic savant. The addition of bassist/vocalist Josh Bearden (who also produced debut EP Oblivion) and lead guitarist Christian Becker only opens more possibilities for the band, whose lineup grows beyond Las Vegas and reach continues to extend.

Currently on the road with Nekrogoblikon and Revocation, be sure to catch Ov Sulfur on tour this summer/fall across North America; see below for all upcoming dates!

The moment the world heard Ricky Hoover’s return to the metal scene to start Ov Sulfur, the group gained some unexpected traction.

Upon releasing their EP Oblivion in 2021 featuring “Behind the Hand of God” and “Oblivion”, they cemented their unique blend of blackened deathcore incorporating 2nd wave melodic metalcore. They followed the EP with the staple “Wide Open” single in 2022 which absolutely reinforced this notion, using this as the template for their inevitable full-length debut, The Burden Ov Faith, which would be helmed under the legendary Century Media Records.

With such an expansive sound for this newer blackened deathcore wave with big star power from an OG like Ricky, Ov Sulfur has shared the stage with legends new and old from Whitechapel  and Aborted  to Shadow of Intent and Lorna Shore. Between their already impressive touring resume and extremely unique sound, the sky is the limit.

AURORAWAVE to Release New Album “Monument” on August 15th, New Single ‘Suffocate’ (Feat. Kumar Fyah) Out Now

SoCal’s rising reggae rockers aurorawave have officially announced their eagerly anticipated sophomore album, Monument, which will be released August 15th with Ineffable Records. Following a string of breakout singles, “Tibetan Sky Burial” (Ft. Frankie Palmeri of Emmure), “Throwing Shade” (Ft, Jesse Royal), “Turn The Page” and the recent “Villain,” aurorawave are on a skyrocketing trajectory, trailblazing a new, refreshing reggae-rock-metal infusion of reggaecore for a new generation of fans.

Commenting on the upcoming album, frontman Nathan Aurora says:

“I’ve been making music now for 22 years, and throughout my career, there’s only been a few times when I felt like I made a perfect album. This is one of them for sure. I poured every ounce of myself into this album, my struggles, my triumphs, and every single one of my musical inspirations. There’s reggae, – a genre that helped to mold me into who I am today, and the guests within the album that come from the reggae world are my favorites in the game. And of course, there’s metal. The music that was my foundation in the first place. And with the heavy stuff, I really feel like we found our stride on this record. The tones are chunkier, the breakdowns slam harder and the energy is high the whole way through.’ Monument’ is a journey. Not just through different musical landscapes, but through different emotions that I think all humans feel in one way or another: Pain, resentment, joy, hope and freedom. Thanks for listening.“

Monument Tracklist:

1. Judge Me (Ft. Aaron Gillespie / Underoath)
2. Wave Shit
3. Suffocate (Ft. Kumar Fyah)
4. Tibetan Sky Burial (Ft.. Frankie Palmeri / Emmure)
5. Turn The Page
6. Seize The Day (Ft. The Movement)
7. Villain
8. Throwing Shade (Ft. Jesse Royal)
9. Never Gonna Stop Us (Ft. Ekoh)
10. Welcome To Your Nightmare (Ft. Left To Suffer)
11. Keep The Faith

Today, the band has released the record’s latest single, “Suffocate,” a chilled out rock anthem featuring Grammy nominated Jamaican reggae singer Kumar Fyah.

Adding about the song, Aurora states:

“Our new single ‘Suffocate’ is the perfect aurorawave song. It blends reggae and metalcore in a way that I truly feel has never been done before, features one of my favorite singers, Kumar Fyah all while preaching a positive message about tuning out the naysayers and chasing your dreams in your own way.“

About Aurorawave:

aurorawave is a boundary-pushing rock band recognized for pioneering a distinct sound they term reggaecore — a fusion of heavy guitar-driven intensity and rhythmic influences drawn from reggae. Their music integrates aggressive, groove-oriented arrangements with emotionally charged lyricism, resulting in a style that is both musically intricate and viscerally accessible.

Formed with the intention of absolute authenticity, aurorawave established a clear identity with their self-titled debut album. The project featured notable collaborations with members of The Ghost Inside, Atreyu, and Attila, introducing the band’s hybrid sound to a broad spectrum of alternative and heavy music audiences. Their debut positioned them as emerging voices with the versatility to operate across multiple subcultures within the rock and reggae landscapes.

In 2025, the band unveiled Monument, a decisive step forward in their evolution. The album brings together an eclectic and high-profile group of collaborators, including Aaron Gillespie (Underoath), Frankie Palmeri (Emmure), Left To Suffer, Ekoh, Jesse Royal, The Movement, and Kumar Fyah. Monument expands the band’s sonic framework while retaining the emotional weight and urgency that define their approach. The result is a record that is both thematically cohesive and musically diverse.

Known for their dynamic live performances, aurorawave has developed a reputation for translating studio complexity into high-impact, crowd-responsive sets. Their ability to connect across genre lines has earned them placements on varied lineups and growing support from fans of alternative rock, metalcore, and modern reggae.

aurorawave represents a deliberate convergence of influences — not as an aesthetic novelty, but as a fully realized artistic direction. Their work continues to resonate with audiences seeking depth, intensity, and innovation in contemporary rock.

ORTHODOX Celebrate Release of New Album with Video for ‘One Less Body’, Ft. BRANN DAILOR

Nashville heavy hitters Orthodox unleash their monolithic new album A Door Left Open on June 6th via Century Media. Their masterful fusion of frenetic, intricate rhythms, pushed-to-the-breaking-point riffing and emotive vocals has refined itself to a bleeding edge proposition. With help from Mastodon’s Brann Dailor, Boundaries’ Matt McDougal and Comeback Kid frontman Andrew Neufeld, Orthodox have truly pushed hardcore heaviness to a new level of brutality.

Orthodox also release their striking video for A Door Left Open’s focus track “One Less Body” which features guest vocals from Mastodon’s Brann Dailor. “This track is definitely the odd ball on the record,” says drummer Mike White. “Most of it was written in the studio and effectively executed with guidance of Randy [LeBoeuf, producer]. Lots of “What if?” riffs tossed around for this one—no rules. Brann’s vocals expand on that by adding a powerful yet atmospheric bridge unlike anything Orthodox has done before.” For the video, White teamed up with director Josh Richter for an eerie tale of a cruising killer which was inspired by the classic ‘girl in a white dress’ video.

At the center of the chaos is guitarist Austin Evans, whose upside-down, lefty way of playing is as radical as his writing, which is littered with harmonics, squeals and borderline laser noises. The album’s barrage of riffs, shredding solos (courtesy of newest member Ben Touchberry) and countless breakdowns contrast unto crushing chugs—accentuated by diverse rhythms from drummer Mike White and bassist Shiloh Krebs—ensures the whiplash-laden listen never gets comfortable. Atop that, Adam Easterling’s brash bellow is even more powerful here—resulting in new dynamics that had producer Randy LeBoeuf (Jesus Piece, Kublai Khan TX, Dying Wish) exclaiming he could hardly believe it’s coming from the same man.

Listeners will notice less of the wavering voice Jonathan Davis and Corey Taylor used to approximate insanity and more of a self-assured brute force of nature. It’s in line with the direct nature of the lyrics, with Easterling stepping out from under metaphors with an explanation that’s equally as blunt: “It comes down to the fact that life will kick your a**, whether you want it to or not.”

Listen / Share / Buy A Door Left Open

Orthodox have built their name on fervent, visceral live shows. With their most blunt album, both lyrically and musically, the wrecking ball that is Orthodox is coming to shatter expectations and minds of fans of metal and hardcore alike. Their headlining U.S. Summer tour kicks off June 21 with a special hometown release show with fellow straight edge bands Year of the Knife and Inclination in Nashville. Mugshot, Omerta and fromjoy will join them as support for the entirety of the tour which crosses both coast, the midwest and more. See below for a full list of dates and tickets.
