MARSH TEA Return with Renewed Lineup – Feat. Members from Children of Bodom + Red Eleven – New Album “Disturbances In Movements” Out Next Month

Finnish progressive metal act MARSH TEA is making a powerful comeback with a refreshed lineup featuring seasoned musicians from renowned acts such as Children of Bodom and Red Eleven. The upcoming album, Disturbances In Movements, is set for release on June 6.

A few years ago, Marsh Tea emerged from the Finnish heavy music scene with their emotionally charged and technically impressive progressive sound, quickly gaining attention from both fans and media. The band’s original lineup included Teemu Liekkala (Rioghan, Red Eleven), Valtteri Revonkorpi (Rioghan, ex-Leverage), and Nils Ursin (Trio Niskalaukaus), whose compositions formed the backbone of the band.

Singles like Mirrors, Chairs, and Convert My Dreams sparked strong anticipation for the band’s debut album. However, after releasing Stenched Pride, the band fell silent. Momentum stalled, and Marsh Tea was close to being laid to rest – until now.

Band’s mastermind Nils Ursin explains what happened behind the scenes:

“When Disturbances In Movements was finished, my hunger grew, and I pushed hard to get the band ready for live shows. Looking back, I pushed Teemu and Valtteri too much. Eventually, we had to face the reality that, due to other commitments and personal situations, I might have to continue alone – if at all. I was devastated and seriously thought that was the end.”

“My wife saw how hard I took it and encouraged me to keep going. Soon other people joined in with their support. I wasn’t sure if I had it in me to rebuild the band from scratch – but here we are. I’m still on great terms with both Teemu and Valtteri. We continue working on other musical projects, and I know Teemu will be a trusted outside ear when it comes time to shape Marsh Tea’s next steps.”

The next step is the release of Disturbances In Movements, which was created with the original lineup and shelved until now. The album was recorded and mixed – drums excluded – by the multi-instrumentalist and studio wizard Teemu Liekkala. Drum recordings were helmed by Tuomas Kokko at Electric Fox Studio.

“This is a new beginning for Marsh Tea – hopefully the final one. I’ve learned to take things slow, to lead without holding the reins too tight. We’ve started to plant the seeds for what’s next, and we’re taking our time doing it right. New material is constantly in the works. We’ve essentially started from scratch, as the new lineup brings a completely fresh dynamic. When the time is right, we’ll revisit the old songs. But right now, it’s about creating something new with this incredibly talented and dedicated group.”

The new Marsh Tea lineup features top-tier musicians: Tony Kaikkonen (Red Eleven) on vocals, Mikki Rousi (Dead Season, ex-Humavoid) on guitar, Jaska Raatikainen (Children of Bodom, Mercury Circle) on drums, and Nils Ursin himself on bass. While live shows are in the plans, the band is currently focused on creating new music.

German rising modern metalcore upstarters, HumanKind, have unveiled a music video for their brand new single “The Darkness I Own”! Following the band’s much-acclaimed debut album, “An End, Once and for All” (2023), HumanKind are currently hard at work on their sophomore full-length offering, to be released via ROAR. Following the previously-released, first single “Fed Up” (listen HERE!), today, “The Darkness I Own” marks a new promising harbinger.

Guitarist Maria Kimberly Huehn comments: “The Darkness I Own deals with depression and mental issues as a constant companion in life. Sometimes healing is not possible and we have to learn to accept the circumstances we find ourselves in, yet drawing strength from this acceptance and learning to persevere and finally prevail.”

Founded in 2022, HumanKind aims to express themselves through their music, reaching others to inspire them and give them the strength to overcome their own limits in unity with others. The five-member band, dressed in the style of modern metalcore, radiates a unique energy with many melodic influences and intense breakdowns, rooted in and shaped by the life experiences of its members.

HumanKind’s debut album, “An End, Once and for All”, addresses the challenging and deeply human theme of dealing with one’s own mental struggles and conditions. The songs, same like the new single “The Darkness I Own”, were produced by Christoph Wieczorek (Annisokay, Sawdust Recordings) to provide them with the sonic impact they need to convey their message. The purpose of the album is to offer listeners a silver lining on the horizon and to assure them that they are not alone. “An End, Once and for All” is a gripping and emotional journey that conveys the message of unity, trust, and creativity through the universal language of music.

In January 2023, HumanKind signed a record deal with Rock of Angels Records, now operating as ROAR, a sub-label of Reigning Phoenix Music, giving the band new perspectives, greater opportunities, and broader reach for their second album. Watch out and stay tuned for many more news and details to follow soon!

HumanKind is:
Samuel Scholz (Vocals)
Maria Kimberly Huehn (Guitar)
Pascal “Packo” Loré (Guitar)
Dominik “Doemsen” Stotzem (Bass)
Silas Schué (Drums)

Swedish melodic death metal masters, In Mourning, have unveiled details and a first song taken from their upcoming, new studio album, entitled The Immortal, that has been slated for a release on August 29, 2025 via Dalapop and Supreme Chaos Records! Pre-order The Immortal from the official band webshop at: https://inmourning.redflame.shop/, for Scandinavian pre-orders visit https://bengans.net/preord/inmourning/ or from the Supreme Chaos Records shop on: https://supremechaos.com/scr-artists/in-mourning/

Cornelius Althammer (Ahab), who is now also a permanent member of In Mourning, comments:

“After 15 years of being a fan of In Mourning and a friend of the people behind I can truely state that this is a new chapter of the band. Yes, I am the new drummer.

But thereby I am not pointing out that the reason is me behind the drums. I rather feel that the music on “The Immortal” is a more focused and concentrated version of In Mourning. A renewal without losing any features that have been making IM´s compositions so great for so many years.

You listen, and when it´s over you wanna restart.”

Listen to In Mourning‘s first single, “The Sojourner” – accompanied by a lyric video to premiere next week – now streaming on all digital services at: https://song.link/s/0JCQtzOnIYxMBT5jIznCDm

  2. Silver Crescent
  3. Song of the Cranes
  4. As Long as the Twilight Stays
  5. The Sojourner
  6. Moonless Sky
  7. Staghorn
  8. North Star
  9. The Hounding

Since the early 2000s, In Mourning have steadily built a devoted international fanbase. With six acclaimed studio albums and several EPs under their belt, the Dalecarlian quartet returns with its seventh full-length release, The Immortal – arriving two years after their previous album, The Bleeding Veil.

Staying true to their signature blend of melancholic melodies and crushing heaviness, The Immortal sees the band further refine and expand their sonic identity. Fronted by the dynamic vocal duo of Björn Pettersson and Tobias Netzell – whose deep growls and soaring clean vocals offer striking contrast – the album explores themes of personal struggle and philosophical reflection. Guitarist Tim Nedergård provides intricate lead work, while drummer Cornelius Althammer lays down powerful, precise rhythms. With emotive melodies, melodic riffing, and an unmistakable intensity, In Mourning deliver a compelling experienceboth on record and on stage!

After THE NARRATOR announced their signing to Nuclear Blast Records a couple of weeks ago, the band today releases its brand new song ‘Unbind Me‘.

‘Unbind Me‘, which was mastered by Ted Jensen, captures THE NARRATOR at their fiercest, with an unrelentingly heavy composition, encompassed within anthemic melodies, proving that once again that THE NARRATOR is a must-have on every playlist.

THE NARRATOR commented:
“Unbind Me marks a fresh chapter for us – with our new partners and a strong team by our side. The video, brought to life by the amazing Daniel Prieß, captures all the energy we put into this song. We can’t wait to play it live on our upcoming shows this summer and fall.“

About THE NARRATOR:

THE NARRATOR were founded in 2017 in the Ruhr area and have been captivating audiences with their energetic songwriting and electrifying live performances from the very beginning. After successful tours and festival appearances, THE NARRATOR steadily made a name for themselves in the German metalcore scene.

Their latest single, ‘Unbind Me‘, mastered by Ted Jensen (STERLING SOUND – BRING ME THE HORIZON, GREEN DAY, KORN, and many more), and accompanied by a striking music video directed by Daniel Prieß, proves once again that THE NARRATOR is a must-have on every playlist. One thing is certain: the best is yet to come!

SVALBARD Announce Farewell UK Tour Dates

Svalbard have released an important, heart-wrenching statement for their fans:

After much reflection, we have decided that 2026 will be the final year of Svalbard.
Our final UK tour will be in November 2025. Following that, we plan to do a final EU tour, a final Japanese tour and a few more select farewell shows in 2026.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us during our 15 years as a band. Your support has meant the world to us.
We’ve shared so many unforgettable moments with you all throughout our career, and we look forward to commemorating our final year as a band with you in 2026.

SVALBARD – FINAL UK TOUR
NOVEMBER 2025

w/ Cage Fight and Knife Bride
19 Nov   UK – Glasgow, Slay
20 Nov   UK – Manchester, Rebellion
21 Nov   UK – Newcastle, Think Tank
22 Nov   UK – Bristol, Thekla
23 Nov   UK – London, Oslo Hackney

Svalbard will reveal more final show dates in due course…

Svalbard‘s latest and final record, The Weight Of The Mask, is their most devastatingly raw and beautiful work to-date, overflowing with mesmerising performances from Serena Cherry, Liam Phelan, Mark Lilley and Matt Francis, transcending boundaries across shoegaze, post-hardcore, black metal and more. Uncompromising and highly charged, the record spans themes intrinsic to humanity, such as emotional strength and depression, to unrequited love and vulnerability.

Order The Weight Of The Mask HERE

Across a fifteen-year career, Svalbard have released four studio albums, three EPs and several split releases. Whilst continually refining their distinctive blend of euphoric black metal, post-rock and d-beat, they incorporated a few more surprising influences along the way. From soft, mournful singing to progressive guitar leads, which showcased a sensitive dynamic, lending impact to their most crushing moments – of which there are undoubtedly many. There’s been no poetry, no ambiguity – just direct, raw honesty as the quartet have tackled some very uncomfortable subjects head on. Svalbard are heavy in the most evocative sense of the word, with blunt lyrics equally as important as the music.

In light of today’s news, Serena Cherry has also shared a message:

“From the moment we formed Svalbard in 2011, all we wanted was to play loud and play shows. Every single moment was exciting to us, from playing DIY squat shows to major metal festivals all over Europe. I think we will always feel a slight state of disbelief over what our noisy little band from Bristol managed to achieve.
We never wanted to create music that was easy to pigeonhole, and I feel proud that we always stayed true to ourselves musically and never restricted our creativity within the genre rule book.
The support we received over the years as a band is something that I will carry in my heart forever. It’s a testament to the openmindedness of the metal community that our sound and our outspokenness was embraced with open arms.
I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Svalbard, it’s been an incredible journey and we could not have done it without you.”

About Conjurer:
Páthos (2022, Nuclear Blast) is not an album for the half-hearted or faint-hearted. Elements of Sumac, Gojira, old Mastodon, and Oathbreaker, their last record is a multi-layered beast – sludge, death, doom, black metal, and hardcore influences clash and collide throughout, all masterfully finished by Will Putney’s exquisite mix and master.
The fifty-minute runtime of Páthos is not without its moments of the sublime, with post-metal nods to Conjurer and Pijn’s acclaimed Curse These Metal Hands project throughout. That a band can be at once so triumphantly beautiful and gut-punchingly heavy is a testament to Conjurer’s quality and a surefire sign of their future longevity at the top of Britain’s heavy music scene.
