Experimental Music Pioneer GARY WILSON Returns with New Album “Come On, Mary”

In the years since his emergence with 1977’s cult classic You Think You Really Know Me, iconic underground hero Gary Wilson’s outsider pop sensibility has spawned a devout following that includes the likes of Beck (who name-checks Wilson on “Where It’s At”) and hip hop collective Odd Future!

Now, with his latest album Come On, Mary due to street on June 13, the Endicott, NY, legend unveils the title track as both his new single and a positively trippy video, both telling the story of Mary herself.

And what a story it is! “Mary lived not far from Endicott,” explains Wilson. “In a place called outer space.  In the summer Mary would take the bus and visit me.  I still dream of Mary”.

Come On, Mary itself packs 11 all original new songs, each one furthering Wilson’s trademark blurring of the line between the bizarre and the heartfelt, and offering some of his more strangely catchy and emotional songs to date!

And Mary herself is a tangible presence throughout the song cycle, from “Alone in Endicott” to “Mary, Won’t You Dance For Me,” and on to the magnificent finale “I Woke Up Into A Thousand Dreams.”

Track list

  1. Lisa Wants To Talk To You
  2. Feel The Breeze

He’ll also be appearing at a showing of the Case Esparros film The Absence Of Milk In The Mouths Of The Lost” at the Frida Cinema in Santa Anna on May 28. Wilson himself stars in the movie, as the milkman.

Golden Robot Records proudly announces the signing of genre-defying alternative outfit A Lost Asylum to its expanding global roster. Kicking off this exciting new chapter, the band will release their explosive new single, ‘Large Quantities of Unnecessary Supplies,’ on 30th May. The track is available for pre-save now across all major streaming platforms.

A Lost Asylum’s debut release with the label is a gut-punch of unfiltered emotion wrapped in furious guitars and defiant hooks. ‘Large Quantities of Unnecessary Supplies’ is raw, loud, and seething with frustration. It’s about hating the questions, the fake concern, and the helplessness that clings like a shadow.

Pre-save ‘Large Quantities of Unnecessary Supplies’ HERE

Blurring the lines between post-hardcore, pop punk, and easycore, A Lost Asylum has forged a sound that’s both emotionally charged and sonically volatile. Fronted by a commanding female vocalist, their music strikes a rare balance – melding aggression with melody and vulnerability with power. From crushing breakdowns to anthemic choruses, their songs speak to the chaotic beauty of being human.
“Signing with Golden Robot Records feels like the beginning of a new chapter for A Lost Asylum,” the band shared. “We’ve always poured everything we have into our music, and now we finally have a team behind us that believes in our vision as much as we do. We’re ready to push harder, go louder, and take this to the next level.”

‘Large Quantities of Unnecessary Supplies‘ marks not only a powerful return for A Lost Asylum but also the launch of a new era – one that promises to deliver even more genre-bending chaos, unfiltered emotion, and the kind of catharsis that only music can provide.

A Lost Asylum was formed in November of 2016 in Salt Lake City. The band consists of Holly Watson (Lead Vocals), Tyson loveridge (Guitar), and Justin Bell (Drums/Unclean Vocals). Touring the West Coast within a year of forming, they have become an unstoppable force. Able to overcome any obstacle in their path in order to keep creating music.

A Lost Asylum brings hard hitting, dark Gothcore through melodic guitar riffs, rhythmic bass, energetic drums, brutal screams, and beautifully dark lead vocals.

They have played alongside The Dead Rabbitts, Famous Last Words, Spite, I Set My Friends On Fire, and The Funeral Portrait. They released their first EP May 2018 and released their first full length album in February, 2020. After a couple of line up changes, A Lost Asylum has found a solid lineup eager to bring a new style of emo music to the world. Proving time and time again the dedication, flexibility, and resilience to keep creating music for everyone to enjoy.

A Lost Asylum are:
Holly Watson – vocals,
Justin Bell – vocals, drums, bass,
Tyson Loveridge – guitar

IN THEORY, which is headed up by Mike Mostert and Tony Covino, is not your average rock band; they are a powerhouse of sound, emotion, and creativity, redefining the boundaries of the genre with their unique and electrifying sound. Hailing from diverse musical backgrounds, this dynamic group of talented players has come together to forge a path that is distinctly their own. Formed in the heart of a bustling music scene, bringing together a group of talented individuals who shared a passion for pushing the limits of rock music. Their journey began in Muscle Shoals where they honed their craft, and their chemistry as a band quickly became evident.

In Theory has just released their new single “Retribution” with special guest Tommy Henriksen (Alice Cooper/ Hollywood Vampires/Crossbone Skully) which is taken from their forthcoming album of the same name. As Mostert states, “Retribution is a long time coming collaboration between Mike Mostert & In Theory with Tommy Henriksen. The song is big, raw, exciting- it’s like early Aerosmith meets Mutt Lange in 2025. Tommy’s contribution as an overall producer, writer and bassist was genius. Our chemistry and mutual vision to bring this amazing track to life was seamless.” Covino adds, “Retribution punches you with incredible hooks, hypnotic chants and a strong message for the times. Working together with Mike and Tommy on this song has been inspirational and tapped into something real and powerful!!!”

The song landed on the Apple Music New In Rock playlist and as Henriksen explains about the song, “In Theory is a band that Mike and Tony have created and I was thrilled to be part of the track “Retribution”. It’s a canvas of passion and attitude, where every chord strikes the heart of Rock n Roll.”

ITHACA Release Final Ever Single ‘Ithaca’

Acclaimed UK metallic hardcore troupe Ithaca have released their final ever single, the self-titled ‘Ithaca’.

The band comment: “‘Ithaca’ means home, the place you return to when the journey is complete. In this final song, we put this band to rest. Every memory, every tear, every laugh is in here. Thank you for everything. Om namo naryanaya.”

A shining light in the heavy scene, Ithaca close a chapter as one of the most exciting and vital voices in the UK. Formed out of a mutual love of metallic hardcore but despair at its lack of ambition, Ithaca exist to challenge everything you thought a band that makes heavy music should look and sound like.

A glitter-covered nailbomb, Ithaca seamlessly blend the brutality of Relapse Records metalcore with blackgaze, 90s industrial metal, 70s prog and even tinges of 80s power pop. Their influences stretch beyond the musical – this album comes with a clear vision and aesthetic: drawing from members’ different ancestral heritage, queer/non-conforming identities and iconic figures in avant-garde, new wave and post-punk culture.

Their second album They Fear Us is the sound of a band healing from trauma – standing in their own, unapologetic voice. Furious and wildly inventive while also being more coherent and accessible, this album introduces Ithaca to a wider audience than they’ve ever had before. In the words of the band: ‘those who oppose us; your sins will catch up to you. You will fear us’.

Ithaca‘s 2019 lauded debut The Language of Injury was followed by their early 2020 tour with Grammy-nominated indie-rock band Big Thief, starting at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Press support from The Guardian, Pitchfork, BBC R1, Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Revolver, Decibel, BrooklynVegan, and performances with Bleeding Through, Jamie Lenman, Anaal Nathrakh, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, at Boomtown Fair and ArcTanGent Festival marked Ithaca as one of the UK’s most vibrant new voices. Ithaca have also appeared on Ed Gamble’s Spotify podcast ‘Lifers’, Sky News and BBC3.
