Cape Town’s filthiest rock ’n roll troublemakers, We Kill Cowboys, are back with a track that bites, bleeds, and refuses to behave. Cherry Lips is the band’s first creation as a full five-piece, and it’s a snarling mix of punk grit, grunge dirt, and post-hardcore venom.
Born from the brain and battle scars of tattoo artist-turned-frontwoman Alex Muller, We Kill Cowboys aren’t here to play nice. Alex has ditched the guitar to unleash her voice at full force — raw, untamed, and impossible to cage. The latest lineup sees long-time ally Floris Le Roux join on second guitar, trading blows with Mornay’s razor-sharp riffs, while Andrew pummels the kit and Miggs drops bass lines thick enough to rattle your teeth loose.
“It’s heavy — the first song we’ve written as a five-piece. It’s about rejecting the idea that anyone needs to save you or mould you into their personal fantasy and refusing to let someone tame your wildness. It’s a feminist song, drawn from personal experience, but the message applies to everyone: don’t be anyone’s bitch — be your own.” – Alex Muller
Cherry Lips is taken from their upcoming album Back From The Dead, coming soon via Mongrel Records.
This isn’t background music. This is sweaty, stomp-the-stage, scream-until-your-throat-tears stuff. Cherry Lips is the sound of a band turning up the volume on their chaos, spitting in the face of conformity, and daring you not to move.
From the frontline of Australia’s melodic death metal underground, EVOCATUS charge ahead with their blistering new single, “Serpent of Chaos”.
The third strike from their upcoming full-length Inevitable Death, “Serpent of Chaos” conjures an apocalyptic vision where tradition crumbles and darkness reigns.
The band commented on the track: “This was one of the first songs written for the album. Our previous album ‘Path to Tartarus’ had a lot of very technical songs, and I just wanted to write something more straightforward and catchy. The song evolved from there based on the feel of the intro riff, expanding and changing naturally as the song progressed. If you are familiar with other Evocatus songs, a dual guitar lead and big solo was a must. Once the music was completed, the lyrical theme was almost too obvious and basically wrote itself after a small amount of research.”
“The video idea was also very natural. We organised Gregoroth to produce the video for us and had a planning session to brainstorm ideas. One thing led to another, and a really solid plan was in place. On the actual day of shooting, there were quite a few obstacles that had to be overcome, but we got it done, and the final product speaks for itself!”

Emerging from the scorched battlefields of New South Wales, EVOCATUS are no strangers to sonic warfare. With a sound forged in the fires of thrash, melodic death, folk, and symphonic metal, the five-piece continue their crusade with Inevitable Death — a towering, blood-soaked successor to 2020’s Path to Tartarus.
Produced by Ryan Huthnance at Emissary Studios, this upcoming release is an unrelenting march through myth, fate, and fury — for fans of Kreator, Amon Amarth, and Machine Head, but delivered with the uniquely epic and sharpened blade that is unmistakably EVOCATUS.
What were you doing at 16?STORM releases his first album after already building a remarkable career, with performances at major festivals like Tons of Rock and Download, millions of views on TikTok, and a sound that refuses to be boxed in.
Join the STORM is out now. And it’s more than just a debut. It’s a musical uprising from an artist who doesn’t care about the rules and is already helping define a new generation.
Leo Davadi Sundli, better known as STORM, isn’t like other teenagers. With an attitude that kicks down doors and a sound that defies all labels, he’s already played some of Europe’s biggest stages. Now comes the album that brings all that chaos together in one explosive package.
There are no genre boundaries here, only raw intensity. Join the STORM blends pop-punk, metalcore, EDM, rap, ballads, and electronic elements, and STORM couldn’t care less about what’s supposed to “go together.” This is music made to break rules, not follow them.
– I don’t follow any rules, says STORM. – I make music that hits hard, and I believe people love it. For me, there are no limits. This is the future.
And it really feels like it. The album is both grand and intimate, brutal and vulnerable, and STORM holds nothing back. It’s a manifesto for a new generation of artists who refuse to play by the old playbook.
Dream collabs and musical rebellion The album features dream collaborations with established names. On the track “Fever Dreams,” STORM brings in Canadian rapper Snak The Ripper and throws him headfirst into his most extreme sonic universe. On the pre-summer single “Suffocating,” STORM teamed up with Norwegian rising stars Fixation. The track has already made waves, landing on genre-leading Kerrang! Radio and BBC Radio 1 Rock Show.
This isn’t an album that tries to fit into playlists. It’s trying to create its own.
Join the STORM is a musical explosion and a personal manifesto. An album that celebrates chaos, freedom, and the power of being unapologetically imperfect.
STORM isn’t just a name to watch. He’s a movement. And the movement has already begun.
The album is out now. You can ride the wave or get blown away.
Coming off two red-hot #1 rock tracks—“Holy Water” (feat Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch) and “Suffocate City (feat. Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills)”—THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT (@tfp_devotion) yesterday (August 22) released to radio the “Dark Thoughts” single from their smash GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY album. Described by frontman Lee Jennings as “a finger snapping anthemic banger,” the mental health-themed song also appears on the newly released four-track DARK THOUGHTS EP along with a version of the song featuring vocals by Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, a new remix of the song, and a live performance of it from the band’s Atlanta, GA hometown of Atlanta alongside the original version.
Listen to the DARK THOUGHTS EP, released via Better Noise Music, HERE and see the track listing below. Two videos were also released today. View “Dark Thoughts (Beyond The Abyss Remix)” HERE and “Dark Thoughts (Live From Suffocate City)” HERE.
“We wanted to put together something special and different that we haven’t done for the Coffin Crew [the band’s devoted following],” explains singer Lee Jennings. “The other cool thing about this EP is that we are including the live version that we recorded at our first-ever town hall meeting in Atlanta. This marked our first sold-out show in our hometown.”
About the song itself, Jennings explains that “‘Dark Thoughts’ is a fun and energetic song meant to highlight our own mental health struggles. I wrote it about being diagnosed with OCD, I’m glad that more people can relate. This song is one of my personal favorites on the album. It’s deeply rooted in feeling trapped in your own head, like you have no one to reach out to who would understand or have an answer. It’s a statement both about the band and our fans. Depression, anxiety, and mental health crisis events are a ubiquitous experience for us, and the people who connect with our art. It can be such a terrifying and daunting task to try to overcome, but we hope that by connecting with others, we can support each other as a community in times when things seem the most bleak.”
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT—Lee Jennings (Vocals), Cody Weissinger (Guitar), Caleb Freihaut (Guitar/Auxiliary), Robert Weston (Bass), and Homer Umbanhowar— (Drums)—recently celebrated the second #1 song from GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase’s Active Rock charts with “Holy Water,” which features guest vocals by Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch. They achieved the first #1 spot last November on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase’s Active Rock radio charts with their smash single “Suffocate City (feat. Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills).”
GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY – FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS: DELUXE EDITION was released June 13 via Better Noise Music, with digital, CD, and vinyl copies available HERE. It contains 24 songs including tracks from the CASSANOVA EP and the FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS EP, as well as “Holy Water” feat. Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch, “Hearse for Two” feat. Lilith Czar and three brand new songs: “Skinny Lies,” “Evergreen,” and “Lost Boy.” The vinyl and CD two-disc deluxe packages feature 21 tracks, one of which is exclusive to the physical formats (“Friends Like These”).
The album that was originally released September 13, 2024 via Better Noise Music consists of 14 tracks of theatrical, dramatic, unapologetic, full-throated flair with guest appearances from Bert McCracken of The Used, Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, and Amanda Lyberg of Eva Under Fire.
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT is committed to championing well-being within the music industry (and beyond). They’re proud to raise awareness of Music Support, the charity that helps anyone who works in the U.K. music industry experiencing substance use, addiction, and/or mental health challenges. They support all areas of the industry, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Music Support believes in arming people with the tools to prevent them from reaching crisis point, but if they do, they are at the end of the phone or via email, info which can be found on their website. Donations can also be made there.
The campaign for THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT began in August 2022, almost three years ago, with the release of “Voodoo Doll” when they were an opening band in 300-400 person venues (or smaller). Now they’re drawing the biggest crowds at the major festivals, touring all year with bands like Ice Nine Kills, and gearing up for a European tour this fall.
After wrapping up a slew of appearances at summer festivals including Warped Tour and Rock Fest, THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT’s on-going tour schedule isn’t slowing down anytime soon. They’ve been invited to be a part of the “ICE NINE KILLS: HELL OF A SUMMER TOUR” along with Dayseeker, Kim Dracula, and Mest, which is currently underway. The Live Nation-produced tour is bringing the bands to arenas and amphitheaters across the country. Tickets are available via Ice Nine Kills’ website. Once that tour wraps, they’ll stay on the road as part of In This Moment’s “Black Mass Tour” with Dayseeker and DED, which kicks off September 18. Tickets are available via In This Moment’s website. In the midst of all those tours, they’ll make more appearances at Rocklahoma on August 31 and at Louder Than Life on November 20, followed by another Warped Tour show on November 15 in Orlando, FL. Later this year, they’ll take off for Europe for a three-week trek with The Rasmus.

Southern California roots rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck have released their new studio album Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes, out today via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records. Recorded in Savannah, Georgia with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb and mixed by Greg Gordon (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson), the album captures the band’s raw live spirit and emotional depth across ten tracks that blend rock-and-soul grit with timeless storytelling. As Rock & Blues Muse raves, the record is “a true testament to their ability to capture the human experience through music.”
Alongside the album, the band has unveiled its title track and latest single, “Heartbreak & Last Goodbye.” The song took shape from a simple acoustic idea and evolved under Cobb’s guidance into one of the record’s most powerful moments.
“It took one listen through for Dave to guide us to the arrangement that felt right,” shares guitarist Henry James. “It’s a climactic and emotional song, with tuneful piano from Jake Abernathie, mellotron textures, and Robert Jon’s deeply passionate vocals. Lyrically, it’s an age-old tale of heartbreak – raising a glass to love lost and the ghost it leaves behind.” With its sing-along chorus – “So, pour me more liquor and forget the ice, ‘cause I’ve been watered down too many times” – the track channels sorrow into celebration, delivering a cathartic centerpiece for the record.
Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes builds on the momentum of recent singles like “Dark Angel,” “Keep Myself Clean,” “Better Of Me,” and “I Wanna Give It,” each offering a glimpse into the album’s range of moods and textures. From the haunting tones of “Ashes in the Snow” to the driving energy of “Highway,” the record maps out the highs and lows of love, loss, and renewal, affirming the band’s evolution into one of today’s most dynamic rock outfits. Classic Rock Magazine hailed the album as “their most accomplished work to date,” noting the band’s ability to balance “soulful storytelling with sheer rock-and-roll firepower.”
Since forming in 2011, Robert Jon & The Wreck – Robert Jon Burrison (vocals, guitar), Henry James (lead guitar, vocals), Andrew Espantman (drums, vocals), Warren Murrel (bass), and Jake Abernathie (keys) – have built a global following through relentless touring and a sound that bridges southern rock tradition with California soul. Fresh off a major European summer tour and a string of U.S. festival appearances, the band now turns its focus to the road ahead, with headlining U.S. dates and a West Coast run this fall alongside Samantha Fish. TotalNtertainment summed it up best: “Robert Jon & The Wreck are a band at the top of their game.”

Finnish heavy metal stalwarts WILLFIRE roar back into the spotlight with their latest music video, “Action Road Mayhem,” a track from the album Homebrewed Recordings, out September 19, 2025, via Wormholedeath.
“Action Road Mayhem” is a no-holds-barred anthem about living wild on the edge of society. It doesn’t preach, it just throws you into the chaos and lets you enjoy the burn. Pure rock n’ roll mayhem with a tongue-in-cheek grin.
The upcoming album, Homebrewed Recordings, captures the band’s signature blend of 80s rock, modern metal, and blues—all self-recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band. Across 11 tracks, it moves from fast and heavy to slow and moody, reflecting real-life emotion and experience.
Founded in 1998 by a group of close friends, Willfire has always focused on writing original material. Over the years, the band went through several line-up changes, eventually solidifying into a power trio of founding members. In 2024, they completed Homebrewed Recordings, their first full-length release, built entirely DIY.
Known for their energetic live shows and genre-blending sound, Willfire continues to write and record, with an extensive back catalog and new music always in progress.
