MYSTOPERA to Release Folk Metal Opera “Das Lied Der Steinernen Engel” on August 1st

MYSTOPERA will release the folk metal opera ‘Das Lied Der Steinernen Engel’ on 1 August on Metalville.

Powerful metal, rousing folk, renowned guest musicians and an epic film music orchestra – that’s MYSTOPERA

Composer/violinist Meike Katrin Stein and singer/songwriter Markus Engelfried have brought this folk-metal opera to life with a great deal of passion and creativity and have brought a host of talented guest musicians on board for their first album, including Schandmaul, Primal Fear, Corvus Corax, Harpyie, Crematory. They were able to win Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost) as music producer. ‘Das Lied der Steinernen Engel’ is the title of the first MYSTOPERA album and tells a gripping Viking story full of mysticism, suspense and devotion.

What began as an idea in Markus and Meike’s joint band past with ‘Krayenzeit’ soon became a project close to their hearts.
“Meike and I first came up with the idea of combining film-musical orchestral epics and folk metal almost eight years ago,’
says Markus. ‘Then three years ago we said ‘Come on, let’s do it now, let’s write a folk metal opera.”

“Once the ball had been set rolling and the first guest musicians had been recruited, the project almost took on a life of its own. Successful musicians and singers asked us if they could still take part in the project.” remembers Meike.

In fact, in addition to Meike and Markus, an ensemble of 16 other high-calibre musicians from a wide variety of genres has come together:

Saskia Maria – Schandmaul / Ralf Scheepers – Primal Fear / Mr. Hurley – Mr. Hurley und die Pulveraffen / Norbert “Norri” Drescher – Corvus Corax / Katja Moslehner – (ex-) Faun / Aello – Harpyie / Alina Lesnik – ROBSE & erfolgreiche Youtuberin / Pínto von Frohsinn – Ganaim, (ex-)Versengold / Rolf Munkes – Crematory / Stefanus Rex – The Kings Pipers / Bernd Heining – Skull and Crossbones / Frank Herold – (ex-)Saidian, Krayenzeit and the four-piece medieval band Die Irrlichter have brought MYSTOPERA to life.

The Budapest Scoring Orchestra, which works for Netflix and Hollywood productions, has also been recruited for MYSTOPERA, so you can enjoy a truly bombastic, world-class orchestra.

The confirmation for the album release concert at Wacken Open Air 2025 is another major milestone on MYSTOPERA’s journey.

„Das Lied der Steinernen Engel’ follows the concept of classical operas and tells a gripping fantasy story about Vikings, dragons and mystical beings in epic and energetic music. But to experience the story even more intensely, the album is accompanied by a book that tells the story of the Stone Angels in detail and allows fans to immerse themselves even deeper in the world of MYSTOPERA.

MARC AMACHER Releases New Single + Video ‘G.M.Mrs.Molly’ from Upcoming Studio Album

MARC AMACHER is releasing the new single “G.M.Mrs.Molly”, taken from his new studio album ‘Load’ out on 27 June on Hoboville.

A blues that breathes stories – somewhere between an old lady and a rusty Chevy van.

With “Good Morning Miss Molly”, Marc Amacher delivers a charmingly mischievous song that oscillates somewhere between familiarity, mischievousness and road trip romance. The groove is laid-back, the vocals rough and close – like the first light in the morning that falls through the blinds.

The character of “Miss Molly” remains mysterious – is she a loving, old acquaintance in slippers? Or is she the Chevy van that has seen many sunrises? Perhaps both. Amacher plays with this ambiguity, accompanied by a minimalist but bouncy groove reminiscent of southern blues. A guitar that doesn’t shine, but grins. A voice that doesn’t shout, but asks: “Tell me, how do you do?”

The song is like a little movie scene: a kitchen, a rattling floor, slippers, the smell of coffee – and underneath a subtle hint of freedom, stubbornness and the past. It’s about observing, remembering, smiling.

“Good Morning Miss Molly” is an acoustic postcard painting – charming, playful and full of character. A piece that takes its time. Like Molly herself.

One name. One legacy. One journey.
Imagine an abandoned railway station in the American Midwest. It’s late evening, the rails glisten damply in the pale light, and somewhere a guitar case rattles in the wind. It is the time of the hobos – those travelling men who roamed the country with nothing but a song on their lips and a dream in their luggage. My great-grandfather was one of them. About 140 years ago, he travelled by train, on foot, taken along by travelling traders, from the south to the north, in search of work – and perhaps also in search of himself.

‘Amacher Load’ is his legacy.
Not as a history record. Not as a reconstruction. But as an honest, raw reflection of a musical journey. This album is saturated with stories that were never written down – stories that seeped into the ground, were whispered around campfires, shouted into the wind from drawbridges. And now, many generations later, a descendant sings – not to imitate, but to carry on.

The sound? Really. Dirty. Full of groove.
The guitar scratches like gravel under your soles. The voice carries sand from a thousand paths. Bass and drums pulsate like a train on the tracks. The blues is not the decor here – it is the language. Soul pops up like an old friend, funk comes along to bring movement into play. But everything flows together – because this is not a museum. It’s alive.

And the ghosts? They are there.
Not in symbols or clichés. But as a reminder that music is always a carrier – for stories, for origins, for what shapes us, even if it is not spoken. The ancestors do not dance in the stage lights, they whisper in the pauses between the notes. In a bending. In a pause. In a breath before a chorus starts.

‘Amacher`s load’ is an album about connection.
About what we take with us – in our blood, in our voices, in our hearts. And about what we pass on when we have the courage to tell our stories.

Marc Amacher is the Swiss blues & rock musician who guarantees the finest entertainment. His impressive live performances and his love of melodious and unique blues have made him famous far beyond the country’s borders. Even at a young age, Marc’s life revolved around the instrument with the 6 strings, his ‘Peaches’ guitar. It was obvious that a musician with so much talent would lead his musical journey in the blues and rock genres. Musical genres that best suit his nature and abilities, but also his passion and authenticity. Marc Amacher’s music is deeply rooted in the traditions of the blues, but he also brings modern elements and his own creative touch to his songs. His style is raw, honest and penetrating, and he knows how to present the essence of the blues, but also of rock in its purest form.

Marc Amacher became known to a wider audience when he took part in ‘The Voice Of Germany’ in 2016. With his performance, he blew his competitors away right up to the final. His charismatic performances as well as the variability in his voice impressed not only the jury and the audience. Pop star and former Take That member Robbie Williams, who coached Marc of in the semi-final, was also impressed.

Since his appearances on ‘The Voice’, Marc Amacher has worked continuously on his music career. He has toured nationally and internationally through clubs, thrilled audiences at festivals and events, and can count on a growing fan base. Amacher is known for his energetic stage shows, in which he thrills his audience with his technically accomplished guitar work and intense expression. A first-class entertainer. It is therefore not surprising that Eric Clapton has also asked Marc to support his shows in Germany and Austria.

Handmade and unadulterated, but by no means outdated: Marc Amacher fascinates with his very own musical diversity, up close and personal. He lives entertainment.

UNDECAYED Stream ‘The Descendants of Death’ Single from Upcoming Debut Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 9, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: UNDECAYED. Leave a comment

Swedish death metal juggernaut UNDECAYED return with a brand-new single, “The Descendants of Death”, now streaming exclusively via Decibel Magazine. The track is another unrelenting slab of sonic devastation lifted from the band’s forthcoming debut album “In Death’s Image”, set for release on May 21st, 2025 through Lethal Scissor Records.

Channeling the ferocity of classic ’90s death metal, UNDECAYED deliver a barrage of blast-laden grooves, guttural vocals, and sinister riffing that draws from the genre’s darkest roots while forging their own merciless path forward.

Stream “The Descendants Of Death” HERE.

Likely the first album ever released with the word ‘death’ in the title of every song, “In Death’s Image” takes its thematic obsession to another level: in one track, the word for ‘death’ is even sung in 19 different languages. The album’s lyrics paint a grim and absolute vision of annihilation—”Death” arrives on Earth in a physical form, surpassing any concept of a god, to extinguish all existence. No one and nothing is spared: humans, animals, vegetation, water, air—everything dies. There is NO hope for life.

Tracklist:

1 – The World Shall Know Only Death
2 – Death’s Only Demand
3 – The Descendants Of Death
4 – In Death’s Image
5 – Death Shall Come (Death Shall Prevail)
6 – Death’s Pallid Coat
7 – World At Death’s Door
8 – Entreating Death In Vain
9 – The Greatest Death

All music composed by Mikael Bergman
All lyrics written by Tony Richter
Cover artwork by renowned artist Jon Zig

UNDECAYED was formed in August 2008 by Tony Richter (vocals) and Mikael Bergman (guitars) as a result of lineup issues in their respective bands, 9th Plague and Disromance. The two had played together in several bands throughout the ’90s and early 2000s, most notably Gardens of Obscurity and The Darksend. Initially, Richter and Bergman were joined by Disromance drummer Johnny Augustsson. Bassist Christoffer Svensson joined in 2009, and in 2014, drummer Jesper Leidbring replaced Augustsson.

The idea that every song should include the word “death” in its title emerged in 2010, both to emphasize that this was true DEATH metal and because such a concept had never been done before. The demo “The Triumph of Death” was recorded in late 2010 and released in January 2011. It was then decided that no further demos would be released before the debut album.

Over the years, family matters, work commitments, health issues, the loss of two rehearsal spaces, and lineup changes all contributed to periods of forced inactivity and delays. It wasn’t until the Covid-19 pandemic that the band was finally able to complete their album “In Death’s Image”.

Line-up:

Tony Richter – vocals
Mikael Bergman – guitars
Christoffer Svensson – bass
Jesper Leidbring – drums
