At the end of 2023, the band faced a turning point when lead singer Martin Holsner stepped down to focus on his family. With multiple lineup changes over the years, the thought of calling it quits crossed their minds – but fate had other plans. When bassist and founding member Robert Majd heard Fredrik Vahlgren sing, he instantly knew the band had to continue. With renewed passion and a fresh voice, Captain Black Beard set out to create their strongest album yet.
For the first time in their 15-year history, 2024 saw the band step away from live shows to focus entirely on perfecting “Chasing Danger”. Recorded at Wing Studios in Stockholm, under the expert guidance of producer Sverker Widgren, with Robert Majd & Daniel Krakowski co-producing, the album is packed with standout performances – including Vinnie Stromberg’s powerful drumming, Oscar Bromwall’s soaring guitar work, and John Lönnmyr’s masterful keyboards.

In support of “Death Becomes Her”, FRANTIC AMBER have unleashed their latest single “Black Widow”, accompanied by a new music video.
“Death Becomes Her” is a concept album about female serial killers and includes different kinds of killers and categories of serial killers,” the band comments. “Black Widow” is a category of female killers that kill for financial or material gain. Their victims are most commonly their husbands or lovers and likely with a life insurance or two involved. Oftentimes she goes free to kill again since she mainly uses poison which can have similar symptoms to natural causes of death, paired with the societal belief that women are soft and don’t kill… The Black Widow’s greatest weakness and most probable downfall is her greed. With a grand expenditure and lifestyle she must repeatedly turn to killing and eventually suspicion and autopsies arrive.
The song “Black Widow” is a quite catchy song blending multiple metal genres such as thrash and symphonic metal. The lyrics are a reflection of this kind of female serial killers drawing inspiration from the stories of various women around the world fitting this category. It was the third song we wrote to completion for the album and it was released as a single but a brand new music video for the song now drops together with the release of our album “Death Becomes Her”.
FRANTIC AMBER started in 2008 as a project in Stockholm by founding guitarist Mary Siebecke with the intention to form an all-female metal band. At first it was an experiment through various genres and with clean vocals. It wasn’t until 2010, with the recruitment of Danish ballet dancer Elizabeth Andrews on extreme/clean vocals and lyric writing, as well as Japanese vocal and guitar teacher Mio Jäger handling lead guitar and main songwriting, that the identity of FRANTIC AMBER started to take its shape into the melodic death metal beast they are known as today.
Their music can best be described as Melodic Brutal Death Metal with Thrash, Black, Progressive, Heavy Metal and Symphonic elements. The thunderous bass together with the technicality and power of the drums provide the backbone, while the guitar’s shredding and soaring melodies complete the soundscape together with the powerful and aggressive vocals.
FRANTIC AMBER’s first EP, “Wrath Of Judgement”, was released in 2010 and landed them the opportunity to play live on national TV at the prestigious “P3 Guld” awards. Gaining momentum the band toured in Europe with SIX FEET UNDER among others, followed by releasing three videos for the songs “Wrath Of Judgement”, “Bleeding Sanity” and “Ghost”. In 2012 they won the Swedish Wacken Metal Battle and got to play a show at the huge W:O:A festival.
With two much-acclaimed full length records under their belt, “Burning Insight” and “Bellatrix”, several single releases and millions of streams and Youtube views, FRANTIC AMBER have played numerous festivals and toured all across Europe, Scandinavia as well as Japan, Russia and even played the largest festival in Colombia “Rock al Parque”. They have shared stages with bands like BEHEMOTH, EXODUS, SABATON, EXCITER, HAMMERFALL, CARACH ANGREN, DARK TRANQUILITY, UNLEASHED, TAAKE, INSOMNIUM, MYRKUR, AT THE GATES and TARJA to name just a few. In 2023, they were nominated by IMPALA as one of three Swedish acts to be included in the worldwide “100 Artists to watch” program that year.

Northern German collective ORACLE HANDS has unleashed the second single of their upcoming new album, entitled “Dirge for the Doomed”, which will be coming out on April 25 via Moment of Collapse Records. Following the first track “Black Fields“, “Drain the Poison” is a restless anthem with an apocalyptic breakdown resulting in a furiuos finale.

With “Dirge for the Doomed”, ORACLE HANDS presents a debut album that pushes the boundaries of post-metal while constructing a brutal, atmospheric sound wall. After their promising demo tape in 2023, the band returns with seven intense tracks, firmly establishing themselves in a musical realm influenced by genres such as doom, black, death metal, as well as punk and grindcore.
Recorded at the renowned Tonmeisterei Oldenburg under the direction of Roland Wiegner, the album unfolds a dense, menacing atmosphere carried by driving blast beats, dark melodies, and an unstoppable sound avalanche. Particularly impressive is the balance between raw aggression and melancholic heaviness: relentless riffs and shrill noise passages meet heavy-hearted guitar harmonies, while the bass grinds ominously through the tracks and the versatile drumming continually introduces new dynamics.
The album’s intensity is further reinforced by the haunting, often resigned lyrics, manifested in an interplay of harsh screams and growls. ORACLE HANDS succeeds in avoiding stylistic arbitrariness despite the overwhelming force. Instead, they demonstrate a keen sense of songwriting that oscillates between eruptive energy and atmospheric depth.

Ambient/doomgaze outfit BOSCO SACRO is gearing up to release their new live album “Live at Chiesa Armena” on April 18th via Go Down Records. The band has just unleashed the second single “Be Dust”, along with an official video that can be viewed below.
“‘Be Dust’ is the second track of our debut album ‘Gem’, the band comments. “Lyrically, it describes the path of a man wore out by desires, passions, and losses who decides to step back from the civilized world and immerse himself in the wilderness. The observation of nature surrounding and embracing him mirrors the encounter and the exploration of his inner, spiritual dimension: psychically, the wood is the place where the external corresponds to the internal, where we can return to a point zero, from which we are able to restart. The band has had many ups and downs including being shunned by many of our festivals, Promoters etc, which pushed us to look elsewhere in our drive to keep the band moving forward, however we do thank and appreciate every one that has stuck by us through thick and thin you know who you are, This announcement is in great part thanks to all of you and our perseverance and determination often having to choose a different path to move forward.
