May 2nd will see iconic dark metal pioneers CREMATORY release their much-awaited, new studio album, “Destination”, via ROAR. Coming on CD, colored 2-LP Vinyl (incl. 4 bonus-Tracks), 3-CD Earbook (feat. the regular album, 4-track bonus CD, album on instrumental versions + a 48-page booklet), an exclusive 18-CD bundle (new album, exclusive remix album + all 16 previous albums) and in digital formats, the album pre-sale is available at https://crematory.rpm.link/destialbumpr

Following previously-released singles, “Welt Aus Glas” and the epic album title track, today, CREMATORY present their stunning cover version of the TYPE O NEGATIVE classic “My Girlfriend’s Girlfriend”, featuring a guest performance by END OF GREEN‘s frontman Michelle Darkness!

“Our cover version from Type O Negative´s hit “My Girlfriend´s Girlfriend” is very special for us. We had the pleasure of playing a few shows and festivals with Type O Negative in the mid-90s, had some very good aftershow partys together and a nice friendship,” CREMATORY drummer Markus Jüllich remembers, and adds:

“Pete Steele is a legend and this song fits our CREMATORY style perfectly. It´s our tribute to Pete and Type O, because they are one of the most famous bands from the good old gothic metal scene of the 90s, and we respect them very much.

In addition, we invited Michelle Darkness (End of Green) as a guest vocalist for this song, who pays
excellent homage to Pete Steel’s vocal range and delivers a terrific duet in combination with Felix.”

The CREMATORY cover version of “My Girlfriend’s Girlfriend” is out now and available on all digital streaming services at: https://crematory.rpm.link/mygfsgfPR

In the more than three decades of their existence, CREMATORY have seen trends come and go, while always staying true to their trademarks, they belong to one of Germany’s most distinctive gothic metal pioneers to date. Following their latest studio offering, “Inglorious Darkness” (2022), CREMATORY will now return with their 17th studio album, “Destination”, that sees the iconic band reach new and even higher levels than ever before! Literally combining all the strengths and phases of the gothic metal pioneers, going back to their melodic death metal roots in places, diving deep into the gothic realm again but also surprising listeners, “Destination” will mark a triumphant return to the past combined with the strengths of the present.

“The new studio album ‘Destination’ is an ingenious mix of the 90s gothic metal times like ‘Illusions’, combined with hard melodic death metal hymns like ‘Act Seven’ and modern electronic songs with German lyrics in the style of ‘Revolution’. More is not possible“, Jüllich recently said. ”With ‘Destination’ the new standard of the modern melodic gothic metal era is determined! The previous album “Inglorious Darkness” was the start of Felix singing all the songs on his own again and now we’ve managed a perfect precision landing with “Destination”!”

CREMATORY sound highly motivated, they are upping the ante and definitely still have a lot to say even after 34 years of a successful band history! In support of “Destination”, CREMATORY will embark on an album release tour kicking off on May 1st. Find all upcoming dates listed below!

SUN AFTER DARK Release First Single ‘Näbe’ from Upcoming Album

Sun After Dark, a new band led by Benjamin König (ex-Lunar Aurora), will release their debut album Tatkraft  on 13th June via Hammerheart Records. The first single ‘Näbe’ is now streaming on all digital platforms.

Album pre-orders are available here: https://sunaftedark.lnk.to/tatkraft

Listen to ‘Näbe‘ here: https://sunaftedark.lnk.to/nabe

Benjamin comments on the track: “‘Näbe’ is the Bavarian word for fog.The special thing about this song is that it partly consists of an unused song that I wrote for the Lunar Aurora album Hoagascht in 2010. You can hear the similarity to the Hoagascht album, but at the same time it is something completely new. In my opinion it combines the past and the present perfectly.“

Hailing from Bavaria, Germany, Sun After Dark is best described as progressive dark metal with elements of black and atmospheric metal. However, it is regarded as something fresh, new, and unheard of.

The band features experienced musicians who have made their mark in groups such as  Empyrium  and Dark Fortress. Adding to the excitement, the production quality is phenomenal. Tatkraft (German for “drive/energy”) was recorded by Victor Bullok (of Tryptikon) at Woodshed Studios (known for Tryptikon and Dark Fortress).

Track-list
1. Dawn and Dirges
2. Waidmanns Hoffnung
3. Ohne Gråb
4. Schlittenfahrt
5. Burning Blue
6. Näbe
7. Leaving Metropolis
8. Antarctic Morning

Sun After Dark is the project of Benjamin König from Germany, best known as a founding member of the black metal band Lunar Aurora (1994–2012). As the band’s primary composer, he was responsible for nine albums and various compilations. Now, with Sun After Dark, König will release his debut album, Tatkraft—a German word meaning drive, energy, or moxie.

The music on Tatkraft blends modern elements with black metal, dark atmospheres, heavy guitars, and intense, evocative moods, with a hint of mythology woven in. Life is made up of stories, experiences, and defining moments—mastering it often requires Tatkraft. This album explores those experiences, shaped and expressed with that same spirit. The lyrics are in English, German, and Bavarian dialect, a nod to König’s roots in Upper Bavaria.

Tatkraft was produced by Victor Bullok (Triptykon) at Woodshed Studio in autumn 2024. Following this collaboration, Thomas Helm and Benjamin König have decided to continue Sun After Dark as a duo. However, the project remains a studio endeavor, with no plans for live performances—each member is active in other well-known bands where they can be seen on stage.

Line up
Benjamin König: Guitars, Bass, Keys
Thomas Helm: Vocals
Matthias Jell: Vocals
Martin Falkenstein: Vocals
Matthias Landes: Drums
Katrin Rohde: Strings

FEVERSEA Announce Debut Album “Man Under Erasure” + Release First Single ‘Sunkindling’

Sunkindling: Feversea’s Hymn for a World in Collapse

Man was meant to replace God as the universal measure. The events of the 20th and 21st centuries, however, have brutalized the creature once known as Man beyond recognition. There is no going back. We are left with an erased image, a misnomer—a sacred animal wasting away in a profane world. Man is both insufficient and irreplaceable.

“Man Under Erasure”, the debut album from the Oslo-based band Feversea will be released on May the 23rd, and the first song to be unveiled from the album is “Sunkindling”, out on April the 4th. It can be streamed and downloaded here: https://orcd.co/sunkindling

This is what the band has to say about it:
Teetering between the brutal and the beautiful, between anxiety and acceptance, “Sunkindling” is the first single from Feversea’s debut album, “Man Under Erasure”. Part psalm, part primal scream, it invites us to contemplate, resist, or submit to the cycle of birth and death—the giving of bodies into a world that is ending. What once gave meaning to mankind—the concepts and images of our place in the world—is wasting away into nothing, pulling us with it.

The song is built around rhythmic shifts between a crushing 4/4 and an anxious 7/8, culminating in a ritualistic, tom-driven outro centered on a repeating vocal mantra. The voice provides a musical counterweight to the riffs—a multi-layered melody over chugging guitars, and an animalistic scream over soaring leads.

Feversea is a post-metal band from Oslo, Norway drawing on influences from black metal, sludge metal and shoegaze. Their music lies in the intersection where the ferocity of black metal meets with ritualistic and ethereal soundscapes. Musically, their debut album “Man Under Erasure” draws from various forms of metal while incorporating influences from neofolk and post-punk. The album is melancholic, despairing, and cathartic. Haunting and melodic while maintaining a strong sense of structure with recognizable riffs—an element often lacking in atmosphere-driven music.

Fluctuating between song and scream, the voice is both from beyond and from below. Lyrically, it is deeply personal but delivered through impersonal images, parables, and riddles—like a spiritualist or Orphic medium carrying messages from beyond. A muffled scream buried under several inches of ice. The album begins in sardonic despair and ends with uneasy, desperate acceptance.

The band’s lineup of Ada Lønne Emberland on vocals, Isak Lønne Emberland on guitars and synthesizers, Alexander Fossen Lange on guitars, Aleksander Johnsen Solberg on bass guitar and Jeremie Malezieux on drums recorded the album at Evil Octopus Studios with Isak Lønne Emberland as producer, mixer and mastering engineer, with cover and sleeve design by Isak Lønne Emberland. “Man Under Erasure” has the following track list:

  1. Man Under Erasure
  2. Murmur Within the Skull of God
  3. New Creatures Replace Our Names
  4. Decider
  5. Sunkindling
  6. Invocation
  7. Until It Goes Away
  8. Kindred Spirit

“Man Under Erasure” will be available CD, Digital and Transparent Bone White Vinyl LP formats, and can now be pre-ordered at:
Webshop: https://www.karismarecords.no/kar295-feversea-man-under-erasure/
Bandcamp: https://feverseaband.bandcamp.com/
US Webshop: https://darkessence.indiemerch.com/pre-orders

“Man Under Erasure” is a musical exploration of this new, uncertain universe, where the last remnants of humanist hopes and dreams have been reduced to embers—barely legible carvings etched into eroding earth. Our trust in ourselves has been misplaced. Everything we ever knew will be erased.

SVART VINTER Unveil Video for First Single ‘Of Cold And Grief’ from Upcoming Album

Italian atmospheric black metal band SVART VINTER will release their sophomore studio album “Isvind” on May 30th, 2025 via Non Serviam Records.

Today SVART VINTER unveil the official video for the first single “Of Cold And Grief”.

“With its chilling atmosphere and relentless intensity ‘Of Cold And Grief’ paints a picture of a world plunged into eternal winter, where light is fading, and the cold is the only constant companion. This track is an exploration of the raw, unyielding nature of grief, death, and the solitude that follows. It is a journey into the heart of winter, where the cold is not just a season, but a reflection of inner torment,” comments the band.

“Isvind” track listing

2. Frozen Tomb
3. Isvind
4. Ritual
5. Abyss
6. Where The Shadows Lie
7. My Last Winter
8. Of Cold And Grief

  • VINYL: https://www.non-serviam-records.com/products/svart-vinter-isvind-vinyl
  • DIGITAL: https://non-serviam-records.bandcamp.com/album/isvind

“Isvind” was mixed and mastered by SVART VINTER’s frontman Andrea Maggioni at Decomposed Design Studio. The album’s artwork is based on an original photo by Autumnal Mood Photography.

Founded in Rome in 2021 by members of the doom/death metal band Veil Of Conspiracy, they draw inspiration from the classic Norwegian black metal scene of the 90’s. The band’s name, meaning “black winter” in Swedish and Norwegian, reflects the bleak and atmospheric qualities of their music.

Though relatively new to the scene, SVART VINTER has quickly established themselves in the underground black metal community. Their debut album, “Mist” (2022), received critical acclaim for its raw intensity and evocative atmosphere. The album captures the essence of traditional Black Metal while adding a fresh, emotional depth.

SVART VINTER’s sound is characterized by haunting melodies, cold, sharp riffs, and a powerful, relentless rhythm section. Their lyrics delve into themes of nature, isolation, and existential struggle, exploring both the beauty and the darkness of the natural world and the human condition. With poetic, introspective lyrics, Svart Vinter creates an immersive experience that resonates deeply with listeners, reflecting on the human spirit’s search for meaning in an indifferent and often hostile universe.

Their music is more than just a reflection of black metal’s harsh sound – it’s a journey through darkness, atmosphere and emotion, a tribute to the genre’s past while looking toward its future.

SVART VINTER are:
Andrea Maggioni – Vocals
Luca Gagnoni – Rhythm and Lead Guitars
Emanuela Marino – Rhythm Guitars
Jacopo Simonelli – Bass
Luca Tiraterra – Drums

THE MEAN TIMES to Release Raging New Single ‘Already Done’ on April 18th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 6, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: THE MEAN TIMES. Leave a comment

Melbourne’s garage rock gentlemen The Mean Times return with their first single in bloody ages, ‘Already Done‘, releasing April 18 via Golden Robot Records. This track is a fast, fiery anthem for the overworked, overstimulated, and over-it. Packed with razor-sharp wit and relentless energy, the track is a full-throttle takedown of burnout culture, political hypocrisy, and the never-ending noise of modern life.

Preorder here: https://orcd.co/already-done

With punchy guitars, a pounding rhythm section, and a whole bunch of stuff that demands to be shouted, ‘Already Done‘ is equal parts defiance and catharsis. The track swings from frustration to dark humor, calling out know-it-all boomers, corporate bullshit, the people who oppose it and the sheer absurdity of it all – because when the world’s on fire, set alight by dickheads, there’s nothing you can you do about it but scream and raise a drink, a fist and an eyebrow.

Produced by Anna Laverty, ‘Already Done‘ sets the stage for The Mean Times’ debut album, Feel More Dumb, dropping September 2025. If you’ve ever felt completely spent and surrounded by morons – this one’s for you.

Thomas Morgan – Vocals, guitar
Robert Meerbach – Bass
Eoin Clements – Guitar, backing vocals
Ryan Williams – Drums
