Critically acclaimed psychedelic Montreal four-piece rock and roll band The Damn Truth return to the UK for an 11-date November 2025 headline tour. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday 26 March via TheGigcartel.com.

The UK tour starts at Norwich Waterfront Studio (Wednesday November 12), takes in London Underworld (Friday November 21), and finishes at The Globe, Cardiff (Sunday November 23).

“We’re very excited to return to the UK for another tour,” says lead singer and guitarist, Lee-la Baum. “We always enjoy performing shows in England. The enthusiasm of UK audiences is incredible.”

In 2021, the band released their critically acclaimed breakout album Now or Nowhere. Produced by legendary Grammy Award winning Bob Rock (Motley Crue, The Offspring, Bon Jovi). On March 14, 2025, the band released their new self-titled album, The Damn Truth (also produced by Bob Rock) which features their brand-new single “All Night Long.”

Stream “All Night Long” on Spotify and YouTube.

Rock News calls the new single “A full-throttle rock and roll banger. Imagine The Cult, Led Zeppelin, and The Damn Truth all colliding on a sweaty, beer-drenched stage.” There is no deep philosophy here; this is a hell yeah rabble-rousing party song that may (or may not) be based on real life situations the band has experienced on tour.

  • Order the new album on vinyl and CD from https://thedamntruth.bigcartel.com.
  • Order the digital edition of the new album from https://music.spectramusique.com/tdtalbum.

The band consisting of Lee-la Baum (vocals, guitar), Tom Shemer (guitar), PY Letellier (bass) and Dave Traina (drums) have toured the UK multiple times and performed at summer festivals including Steelhouse, Winterstorm and Planet Rockstock.

After extensively touring the UK and Europe for the last four years, The Damn Truth return with their self-titled fourth album, The Damn Truth, and, once again, produced by the legendary Bob Rock. The new self-titled album is the culmination of 12 years of hard work and constant touring. The Damn Truth are a perpetual and virtually unstoppable rock and roll machine.

Fuelled by two Top 40 singles on the Canadian Active Rock Charts (“Love Outta Luck,” “I Just Gotta Let You Know”), the new album marks the next level in their relationship with Bob Rock. He has pushed the band in all areas of playing, writing, and refining the Damn Truth signature sound, most evident in the revelatory power of Lee-la Baum’s vocals as evidenced on the mystic, almost Zeppelin-vibed “The Willow;” the full on bittersweet romance of “Better This Way;” the social conscience of “The Dying Dove;” the cautionary “If Don’t Make It Home;” and the hell yeah rabble rousing  “All Night Long.”

The Damn Truth have added some extra lanes on their rock’n’roll highway as they explore new musical scenery, but the destination remains the same: organic loud rock experienced best in a crowded concert hall dripping in sweat.

The Damn Truth are regular staples on the UK’s biggest classic rock radio station Planet Rock. They first came to prominence on Planet Rock with the title track single from their 2021 album This Is Who We Are Now” which was also played on BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show.  Recently, the band have experienced airplay on Planet Rock with tracks from their latest album with the singles “I Just Gotta Let You Know,” “Love Outta Luck,” and “Better This Way.”

The band have won Tracks of the Week on Classic Rock Magazine’s Louder Sound several times. This month, Classic Rock has published a feature entitled “Six Questions with The Damn Truth.”

The Damn Truth have been championed by the British music press with extensive magazine coverage in Classic Rock, Rolling Stone, Guitarist, Blues Matters, Powerplay, Fireworks, Blues in Britain, HRH, and R’N’R Magazine.

“The Damn Truth are a fresh revivalism of the psyche music scene from the mid 60’s,” says Rock Bands of LA’s editor Jeff Laufer.

“Critics and fans alike praise the Damn Truth’s regeneration of the hard rock sound and values,” continues Laufer. “Bob Rock found a spirit within the band that he hadn’t experienced for many years. He saw something special… an artist with burning talent that needed the right direction to break wide open…like lightning in a bottle.”

The Damn Truth have extensively toured Europe and North America and opened tours for Z.Z. Top (and partied with Billy Gibbons in his pyjamas), The Sheepdogs, Glenn Hughes, Styx, and Rival Sons. In 2021, they were special guests on Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive Stream-A-Thon. They have just returned from performing on the 2025 Legends Of Rock Cruise with Alice Cooper, Styx, and others; and where the band participated in the end of cruise jam with members of Blackberry Smoke, Jason Bonham’s band, and other rock royalty.

NOUMENIA Project Pure Energy And Power in New Music Video ‘The Circle’

Noumenia are a post groove metal band from Northern Italy, who have crafted an explosive soul-striking sound that hits you square in the face, the mind, and the heart! Fronted by their powerfully-charismatic vocalist Vivian Black, the band just premiered a new music video for their devastating new single “The Circle“. The music video was directed by Steve Saints (Genus Ordinis Dei) at Black & White Studios in Fizzonasco, Milan.

“The Circle” is the first single & music video taken from their upcoming full-length album Echoes which will be released on June 27, 2025 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Richard Meiz (Lacuna Coil, Genus Ordinis Dei), mixed & mastered by Daniele Salomone (Lacuna Coil, Inverno, D With Us) at DDStudio Records.

“The Circle embraces one of the main mechanics of life… karma.” Says drummer Sam Zichi. “You must be careful, because each decision leads to a consequence, everything you do or say, will come back around. We hope to strike our viewers with a resonant and mindful message of always being wide-awake in life, because you will never know when it will strike back to you.” Vocalist Vivian Black adds, “For this music video, we wanted to focus on the band with minimal and modern elements, without losing the expression and the mood of the single. A dark room to get an oniric feeling, blue lights in contrast with red lights for a duality of emotions which we feel in this track and in the album in general. The focus light on us to remember that even in the dark our light will always shine.” Bassist Matteo Campagnoli continues, “Conveying the full intensity of the song in front of a camera was undoubtedly the greatest challenge, but we pulled it off. How, you ask? The secret was diving into the very soul of The Circle and recreating the environment where this song truly thrives… a live performance.” Finally, guitarist Matteo Radaelli adds “This song called for a more aggressive approach, other ones for hidden messages, and last but not least others for a more emotional feeling. For that reason we’ll experiment with different styles, plots and visual effects to create something unique each time, trying to catch the vibe of every song.”

Coverart Credit: Samuele Zichi

Echoes is the title of the exciting post groove metal album by Noumenia, featuring heavy drumming, rhythmic virtuosity, ripsaw growl vocals, and a gargantuan guitar sound that literally reinvents the power of the power chord. The pound and burn on this record are massive, the hooks mesmerizing, the changes invigorating, the philosophical lyrics all too close to the heart, the bottom-side where we stockpile secrets and darkness. Often, the songs on this record kick off with bizarre futuristic introductions constructed of suspense and trepidation, like movie soundtracks made for aliens, dangerous AI, and cyborgs gone mad, yet following these mystic “orchestral” and “celestial” preludes, Noumenia hit us with drop after drop that rock so hard we are stunned. Musically, this record makes for a striking hybrid, explosive and smooth, hard diamond with a soft shine, a thick dose of dangerous velvet. Holistically, it seems that the band has a mission here to invigorate, exfoliate, and buzzsaw the brain so the new world looks real and raw. Echoes features cover art designed by Samuele Zichi, and it is scheduled for release on June 27, 2025.

Pre-Save or Pre-Order Echoes at this location.

BARRENS Release New Single ‘Periastron’

Dark post-rock trio BARRENS have today unveiled their stellar new single ‘Periastron’ via Pelagic Records.

Stream here: https://orcd.co/barrens

‘Periastron’ is an expansive, sweeping statement from the trio. A gently persistent synth underpins the majestic, otherworldly melody, leading to a beautifully grandiose climax. The band comment: “‘Periastron’ concludes the A-side of corpse lights, at the point closest to the burning core of the album, before falling away again.

“The track went through several different versions before finding its current form, but ended up “sui generis” and became the perfect first part of the albums midpoint, as well as serving as one of its strongest pieces concerning one of the albums central themes; relationships.

“The video for the track was created by Grammy-nominated video artist Linus Johansson from the creative collective Try New Things, who took the artwork made for the single (by band member Johan G Winther) and used it as a starting point to build a brilliant, haunting, immersive, otherworldly experience through the red thread of the track titles and themes of the album.”

BARRENS are a highly-regarded group from Gothenburg, Sweden, and feature two members of Scraps Of Tape, veterans of the scene who’ve been touring for over twenty years.

BARRENS have developed their own idiosyncratic sound since their stunning debut album Penumbra (2020): as driven by synths as by guitars, Penumbra oscillates between the dark and the brighter side of post-rock, but leaning more towards the dark. The album conceptually circles around themes of change, metamorphosis and transformation, “especially movement into, through and out of shadows and back again”, as guitarist Johan G Winther explains. “Being both lost in darkness, yet finding comfort there. Seeking it. Afloat in blinding light, suspended in darkness” – the message etched on the album vinyl.

BARRENS were already touring together before they were even a band. In 2018, Markku Hildén joined Scraps of Tape, Johan and bassist Kenta’s other band, as a live drummer for two tours of Europe and a tour of China. “Finding an immediate chemistry between us both playing and hanging out, we quickly realised we had very similar ideas regarding music and creating art together. So the outlines for what BARRENS would become were sketched out back then in vans, trains, planes and over post-show beers at local bars”, comments Kenta Jansson.

Once back home, the newly formed band started writing demos, drawing inspiration from new sources and venturing through both well known and unknown territories. In the summer of 2019, Penumbra was recorded in Uppsala and Gothenburg and produced by the band, and mixed and mastered by Cult of Luna‘s Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios in Stockholm.

Since then, BARRENS have gone from strength to strength. In the intervening time the trio have supported the legendary Mogwai, God Is An Astronaut, signed with the famed Pelagic Records and opening ArcTanGent‘s main stage for the 2023 edition.

POSTMORTAL to Release “Profundis Omnis” Debut Album on May 9th

Polish funeral death doom entity POSTMORTAL will unveil its debut album “Profundis Omnis” on May 9th 2025 via Aesthetic Death.

Meticulously crafted with an unwavering passion for the genre, this release sees the band channel the bleak, monolithic essence of funeral doom’s greats. With a deep understanding of the style’s fundamental elements, POSTMORTAL shape their sound into a crushing and immersive experience, delivering an interpretation that is both hauntingly atmospheric and devastatingly heavy.

The album track “Fallen” is now streaming HERE.

Tracklist:

1. Fallen
2. Darkest Desire
3. Decay of Paradise
4. Prophecy of the Endless
5. Queen of Woe
6. The Masterpiece of the Thing That Once Was but Will Never Be

The idea to create a funeral doom band was born in 2015 during the Czech metal music festival Brutal Assault, where most original members of the band were present: Michał (guitar), Karol (guitar), Sludge (bass) and Kamila (drums).
In those days POSTMORTAL was officially created, joined soon by Dawid (vocals), and Sludge later replaced by Paweł. Rehearsals and writing of the first songs began and by late 2017/early 2018, the band were able to do two gigs in their hometown of Krakow, the only gigs to date.
In April 2018, Karol was replaced by Kamil and the band recorded the EP “Soil”. Shortly after these recordings, the drummer left the band.
Despite a lenghty search, it was not possible to find her successor and as a result the band went into hiatus.

In 2024, two original members, Dawid and Michał decided to reactivate POSTMORTAL as a two-person project with ideas and focus on creating a debut studio album. In the same year, “Profundis Omnis” was recorded, adapting tracks that were mostly written during the band’s early period.

Monolithic, bleak and primal – POSTMORTAL embraces the atmosphere of funeral doom overlords such as Thergothon, Tyranny, The Funeral Orchestra, Catacombs, Evoken.

Line-up:
Michał Skupień – music
Dawid Dunikowski – vocals, lyrics

NIGHTFALL Unleash Righteous Anger on New Single ‘The Cannibal’

For more than 30 years, Nightfall have stood as a shining pillar for Greek metal.

Like darkness after sunset, the deadly Athenians rose through the underground alongside their current and former label mates Rotting Christ and Septicflesh. The band’s monumental eleventh album is solidified by the most electrifying hooks and thunderous production in their pantheon-level discography. But while the latest single from Children of Eve scrapes across the sky with a stadium-shaking chorus, “The Cannibal” digs deeper into the powerful message that has always served as Nightfall’s rallying cry.

“Our new single speaks to an insatiable fear that’s been fueled by eons of catechism”, says Nightfall’s half-masked leader Efthimis Karadimas. “I hate the cannibal that lurks inside us, eating us alive from within”.

The video for “The Cannibal” was created by Instagoodpromotions (@instagoodpromotion).

Children of Eve comes out May 2, 2025 on Season of Mist.

Can’t wait for the arrival of Children of Eve? You can listen to the whole album two weeks before it comes out during Nightfall’s upcoming listening party on Bandcamp.

Nightfall Children of Eve Bandcamp Listening Party – RSVP
Thursday, April 17 @ 1 pm Eastern Time / 7 pm Central European Summer Time

Nightfall were the first Greek metal band to sign an international record deal, but living under the Eastern Orthodox Church over the past three decades has only deepened their disdain for overzealous rulers. “Anger was the root”, Efthimis says when asked what birthed Children of Eve. “The Cannibal” bites back at how religious dogmas can eat you alive from the inside.

“I own a field / Inside your mind“, Efthimis foams at the mouth, as if driven mad by the angel on his shoulder. “That’s where the guilt / It’s rooted deep“.

Read down through the tracklist of Children of Eve and it’s no mystery that first single “I Hate” and ferocious follow-up “The Cannibal” are aimed at pious devils. But the album’s internal battle is personal for Nightfall’s fearsome frontman. When the band retreated amongst the shadows during their 2010’s hiatus, Efthimis was diagnosed with depression. He now wears a black mask that covers half of his face to show what it’s like to live under the invisible veil of mental illness.

“Mental illness can lead to self-isolation”, says Efthimis, a stigma he’s now fighting through his new initiative Metal Music against Depression. “We can talk about this. We can sing about it. We can build a community that’s based on understanding”.

To amplify the message behind their new album, Nightfall boosted the production for Children of Eve. Once again, Efthimis and drummer Fotis Benardo took charge of the production with a guiding hand from InnerWish guitarist Thimios Krikos. But the album was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen, who’s helped Volbeat, Amaranthe and The Black Dahlia Murder crank their metallic fury to arena levels. “The Cannibal” leaps out your speakers with voracious double bass and lightening fast riffs that sink their teeth into a meaty bass groove.

“Terror, the sky turns red“, Efthimis roars during a blood-pumping chorus that’s bound to unite the blackened masses when Nightfall bless the world stage with Children of Eve.

“We’re excited to play this album live”, Efthimis says. “The songs sound massive. The choruses are huge. And there’s a clear message that comes through”.

Cover Art by Eliran Kantor

Tracklist
1. I Hate (6:05) [WATCH]
2. The Cannibal (3:36) [WATCH]
3. Lurking (4:08)
4. Inside My Head (4:51
5. Seeking Revenge (3:47)
6. For The Expelled Ones (5:07)
7. The Traders Of Anathema (3:15)
8. With Outlandish Desire To Disobey (3:25)
9. The Makhaira Of The Deceiver (4:21)
10. Christian Svengali (4:43)
Full runtime: 43:22

For more than three decades, Nightfall have stood alongside Rotting Christ and Septicflesh as the pioneering trinity of Greek metal. The legendary Athenian death metal band sound as vengeful as ever. But backed by monumental production and a powerful message, their eleventh studio album stands as their darkest and most epic creation yet. Children of Eve is here to unite blackened souls everywhere.

“I love how this album came out”, Nightfall’s founder Efthimis Karadimas says. “We’re excited to play these songs live. The sound is massive. The choruses are huge. And there’s a message that comes through. It’s an album about how we come through pain, how we live with pain, and how we die in pain”.

A Living Legacy of Greek Metal

Since their formation in 1991, Nightfall have remained a beacon for Greek metal. “Well, here is one of the rare, original bands”, wrote Angry Metal Guy. Like the scorching sun over their homeland, the Athenians rose from the underground alongside Rotting Christ and Septicflesh, though they were the first to sign an international record deal.

“Nightfall proves with “Children of Eve” that they’re fairly considered as one of the pioneers of the Hellenic Metal scene” says Rotting Christ frontman Sakis Tolis. “The fact that they create wonderful albums like this one make them legends that still have things to say! Congratulations for this new creation!”

Over the years, the crew around Efthimis has changed frequently. But while Nightfall did enjoy a short but successful stint with Metal Blade Records in the early 2010s, their strong bond with Holy Records during the ’90s established a deep connection between the Greek and French metal scenes. That legacy  continues with the band’s current label Season of Mist.

“Nightfall deserve great credit for persistence and determination”, Blabbermouth wrote upon the eve of At Night We Prey. “For fans of face-ripping gloom, [their] sizeable catalogue remains eminently worthy of exploration”.

Monumental Production

Like their contemporaries, Nightfall weave gothic melodies into blackened death metal. Children of Eve features the most infectious collection of hooks that the band has ever created, though their disdain for the dominance of the Eastern Orthodox Church has only deepened over the years. The ongoing rise across the globe of so-called “holy wars” fueled their latest rebellion.

“Anger was the root”, Efthimis explains about the inspiration behind Children of Eve. The band’s veteran leader commands the stage with cloak and dagger, but the album’s lead single pulls no punches. “I am the son of night, notorious bastard”, he roars as an eerie choir echoes like the call of a siren. As if summoned from Olympus, former Septicflesh drummer Fotis Benardo unleashes his attack like a swarm of venomous arrows.

“Faith is a personal matter”, Efthimis continues, “but it can become a dirty business”.

To amplify their message, Nightfall enhanced the entire production of Children of Eve. Efthimis and Fotis took charge of the production with assistance from InnerWish guitarist Thimios Krikos. Meanwhile, Jacob Hansen – who worked with Volbeat, Amaranthe and The Black Dahlia Murder – handled the mixing and mastering. For the artwork, the band turned to Eliran Kantor, who’s renowned paintings have graced the covers of albums by Testament, Kreator and Helloween.

A Powerful Message

Look at the tracklist and it’s evident that “I Hate” takes aim at the consistent influence of organized religion. “The Traders of Anathema” raises its axe in honor of Judas Iscariot, featuring two blistering guitar solos from Kostas Kyriakopoulos. However, Children of Eve wouldn’t bear the mark of Nightfall without a deeper message.

“Death’s Spiritual Healing deeply influenced me”, Efthimis says. “At the time, its social message was so advanced for the genre”. While “The Cannibal” bursts with divine tremolo picking, its lyrics explore how religious structures and fanaticism can devour you. “I hold the power / to explain your screams“, Efthimis howls with chilling intensity.

During Nightfall’s most recent hiatus, Efthimis was diagnosed with depression. Now, he wears a black mask to cover half of his face, symbolizing what it’s like to live under the invisible veil of mental illness. “When you have demons in your mind, you’re not always an ideal companion”, he admits. “That stigma can lead to isolation”.

Now, Nightfall are encouraging fellow metalheads to speak up. The band have launched a new initiative called Metal Music Against Depression (MMaD), which is supported by European Alliance Against Depression in Germany. “We can talk about this. We can sing about it. We can build a community that’s based on understanding”, Efthimis says.

With Children of Eve, Nightfall return from the shadows to unite blackened souls everywhere with their darkest and most epic creation yet.

On Friday, June 6, 2025, one of the greatest and most successful Canadian rock bands of all-time, Triumph, will be honored with a star-studded tribute album. ‘Magic Power: All Star Tribute to Triumph’ will arrive via Round Hill Records, featuring such renowned rockers as Dorothy, Sebastian Bach, Nancy Wilson, Joey Belladonna, Slash, and Jeff Keith covering classic Triumph tunes.

The 15-track album features an amazing collection of musical firepower, including drummers Kenny Aronoff and Tommy Aldridge, and guitarists Bumblefoot, Paul Gilbert, Nita Strauss.

The project was conceived by renowned producer Mike Clink – who has produced classic recordings for Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue and Whitesnake.

‘Magic Power’ will be released on CD with a 12 page booklet and as a double LP gatefold edition.

Pre-order ‘Magic Power: All Star Tribute to Triumph’: https://roundhill.ffm.to/t-allstartribute

A sneak preview will be released on Tuesday, March 25th, with a Sebastian Bach-sung rendition of the Triumph classic, “Rock & Roll Machine,” and can be heard here: https://roundhill.ffm.to/t-rockandrollmachine

The participants are extremely honored to salute Triumph, including Phil X, who went on to say, “It is so incredible to get back to my roots with my brothers, Gil, Mike and Rik. The Triumph fans will love this!”

Enthusiastically, Journey drummer Deen Castronovo commented “Triumph was a huge influence, no Gil Moore, no Deen Castronovo singing behind a kit.”

Furthermore, Sebastian Bach said, “The music of Triumph will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m super proud to pay tribute to one of my favorite bands of all time…the Rock n’ Roll Machine known as TRIUMPH!”

Dee Snider recalled, “The first time I heard this song (‘Lay It on the Line’), I was blown away. There’s only one Rik Emmett and Triumph. I’m honored to be a part of this!”

Originally formed in 1975 and hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, the trio was always proud of their Great White North roots. And seemingly ever since their inception, Triumph was on the cutting edge of technology when it came to their live show – particularly lighting, sound, and effects.

Sophisticated lasers, pyrotechnics and moving lighting rigs, all computer-controlled – Triumph was one of the first arena rock bands to incorporate all of these elements into their shows. Triumph’s headlining tours were legendary, and the band was featured on many memorable stadium/outdoor shows – including the US Festival, the World Series of Rock, the American Rock Festival and Texxas Jam, Day on the Green, to name but a few.

And now, fans will be able to re-experience Triumph classics in a whole new way – via ‘Magic Power: All Star Tribute to Triumph.’
